Recently had my oil changed and tires balanced/rotated here. They are open on weekends, which made things convenient for me. I walked in on a Saturday, and they quoted me 90 min to get things done. I'm not sure how long it actually took because I was working in the lobby and lost track of time. They don't have wifi back in the office yet. The service guy was nice, and he didn't try to push any unnecessary repairs. I did raise an eyebrow at the price of a little over $100 for the services. The price was higher than I expected, although I guess that is partially my fault for not asking how much it would be before I handed my keys over. read more

A friend of mine bought 4 new tires and 2 weeks later one of the tires went flat. A 'donut' tire was put on by AAA without incident. My friend drove to Firestone in Ann Arbor and was charged for another new tire. Also Firestone charged for cross threading of one lug nut . I wonder if anyone else had an issue with this particular Firestone. read more

Never coming back here again. I gave them a few chances because (a) they were really close to where I live and (b) they were cheap and (c) they successfully patched my tire once. So I thought they could easily check the brake pads while rotating the tires... right before my winter road trip. Not so easy. After I dropped the car off, they called me with an enormous list of things to do (see attached). $1200+. The fuel injector cleaning isn't necessary and isn't recommended at all by Subaru. I have 40% tire tread left, no need for tires yet. The last brake fluid change was done 18,000 miles ago, and Subaru only recommends changing every 30k miles. The worst thing was the brakes. They said my rear brakes only had 2mm left. I thought it was weird because normally if it's 2mm, the brake wear warning strip would start squealing. I declined all the services and gave them a look. Right afterwards, I took off the wheels to check, and guess what? They were way off. I had 4mm of brake pad left, more than enough to go on my winter road trip. See photo for my own measurements. It gets even worse. They probably over-torqued or put some metal shavings into the wheel lug nuts. As a result, when I tried to take the wheel nuts off while taking off the wheel, one of the nuts would turn a little bit and get stuck. In the end, I had to break off one entire wheel stud by sheer force, and then take off the caliper, rotor, etc.... just to install a new wheel stud. So what was a originally $22 inspection became a lot of worrying and a lot of frustration. At least I didn't spend $1200+ for things I didn't need yet. read more

!! DO NOT GO HERE !! My Fiancés grandma has brought every one of her vehicles for years here and so on throughout the family. Assuming being a loyal customer so long that they always took care of the new women in my life, turns out they have been taking advantage of them and who knows for how long. Got a simple oil change and the car was leaking oil, they wanted to charge us 50$ to put a dye in to find the leak, (keep in mind it costs 10$ at any local ace or auto zone) and come to find out they didn't clean it, or seal it properly. They didn't put the sticker on the window when to get your next change and never reset it in the vehicle. We then had a noise the following week coming from the right side. We didn't know if it was front or back (they're mechanics they should be able to know) and we said we will fix the brakes at another time we just want the noise taken care of right now. Charged us 600$ to do the front brakes and rotors and the noise was never taken care of. The mechanic on the phone admitted to me that he doesn't know as much as the other mechanics. But they use the MITCHELL LABOR MANUAL, and pay their guys under "grade A" service. Basically stating that they have the best mechanics and itemized tools. Clearly not the best if they can't even do an oil change correctly. The manager Russ then lied to me twice to my face saying that he did it and that my finances grandma said this, I was there the whole time for the conversation he lied right to my face. Also his mechanic Al told me the day before he's the one that looked at it and did the brakes so who's lying? I told them I will still pay for the parts but I should not have to pay for labor again considering we never wanted the front brakes done unless that was the problem! Why would I pay the highest labor wage for "grade A" mechanics when they aren't giving grade A service. So after 20+ years of having 5 vehicles in and out of that place we will not ever go back! Keep in mind this doesn't go for all Firestones just this one in specific in briarwood circle. The manager ended the conversation with what do you want out of this and I said a little compensation for our time and money, (compensation meaning discount the back side and we will still do it here) and he said no, I said I will never be coming back here again then and he said ok see ya. Very disrespectful, lost lifetime customers and also I NEVER write reviews, so don't assume I'm just one of those people. read more

Hours posted show open until 7PM. I was able to make an appointment for a 4:30. Got a call the morning of appointment asking if I could leave car overnight or I needed to reschedule as the mechanics only work until 4PM. Maybe they do good work, but the online info is wrong and the scheduling system is broken if no one will be working at the scheduled time. read more

My hood would not latch properly so I took my vehicle here in order to get it replaced. The Dealer wanted too much money. The part was ordered and I was called. The staff is always friendly here, especially Cory. I decided to work from here while they were fixing the car which was half the day. They have Wifi which does not seem to ever be strong and I switched to my Hotspot on my phone. There is also a TV which is also cool. The Manager came out and told me that the cable was not working right and that I would need to come back. Not exactly what you want to hear after sitting for the whole day waiting. However, stuff happens. He told me that they would eat the cost of the cable. I will have to schedule to have it replaced soon but I was a little disappointed. At least the hood kind of works but I will be back to schedule the completion. Overall, this was an ok experience. read more

Firestone charged me $120 to replace a windshield wiper blade! One of the wiper blades had come loose, and they're hard to put in, so I decided to have them replaced with new ones at Firestone. When I picked up the car, the bill was about $120! They said they had a "master mechanic" diagnosing the system, including taking apart the wiper motor. (Some "master mechanic" if they didn't just look at the wiper blade first!) After I complained, they reduced the bill to around $40. Still too much for replacing the blades, but I paid it. I consider this place to be predatory and will never go to another Firestone again. read more

Called ahead about having a tire repaired that I had used a canned temporary repair product on. A female service person put me in yhe cue and told me to bring the car in. (The store is 25 minutes drive from my home one way.) When I arrived, a male service person told me that, because I had used a canned prduct on the tire, it couldn't be repaired and would have to be replaced, which is a bold-faced lie. When I mentioned that the female service person I spoke with by phone had told me no such thing. he dismissed her saying oh she's new, meaning, apparently, she hadn't yet learned to lie to customers in order to get a $200 tire sale instead of a $25 tire repair. I had a tire that was losing air so I stopped by here. They were completely booked for the next week but offered me air for the tire. They also said that I could drop off the car and they would get to it at the end of the day. I wasn't sure if I wanted to drop off the car at that time so they checked and filled all my tires and gave me a valve cover for free. By the tire that I got home, I could hear the air coming out of the tire so I went back to drop off the car. It was $30 for them to plug and patch my tire and they finished the job before closing as promised. read more

I took my car to Firestone because the a/c was blowing hot air. They did a leak test and found nothing. This cost me $500. During the next couple of weeks, Freon was leaking out of my car. I took it back to Firestone and they said there was a leak. This would now cost me an additional $1300 to fix. The attendants looked me in the eyes and lied to me about things they assumed I didn't know. Avoid these people at all costs. They will take advantage of you if you don't know much about cars. read more

I made an appointment for an oil change. I showed up at the appointment time. The check-in guy said "an hour to an hour-and-a-half". I walked over to Briarwood Mall and walked some laps. I went back after an hour and a half. They hadn't even started work on it yet. I left. I'll get the oil changed somewhere else. read more

I had Firestone to replace my brake pads and I was over priced! When my car was ready for pick up I did a test drive before I went home. I noticed right away that my brake pads was making a loud noises every time I hit my brakes! I called the store manger about the problem and he did nothing but gave me a refund! I had to find another shop to work on my break pads! read more

From out of town and had to have a quick turnaround on the time for oil pressure and tire check lights... these guys were great - gave us immediate service and a top off of the oil and look over on the tires for air pressure " on the house". Nice to know that there are friendly, good people and service stations around!!! read more

DON'T GO HERE. They tried to rip me off greatly the one time I went here. I brought my car in after it was continually overheating. After an 3 hour wait to get my car checked they gave their analysis. A two-page laundry list of repair totalling over $2000. Now I don't know much about cars, but that seemed outrageous to me. So I asked the mechanic which repairs were absolutely necessary and the total rang in at about $240. Something about tie rods going on my car. I decided to get a second opinion and went with the Midas Shop on Washtenaw. After an hour or so wait, I found out all I really needed was a new radiator cap ($10 or 15, which was a mark-up but at that point I was glad it was under $100). There were some other repairs they told me I might need to get somewhere down the line, but they weren't urgent. For a college student worrying about bills they were a life saver. Like I said just about any other auto repair store in A^2 would be better. Don't go here. P.S. It might be closed. If it is, good! Serves them right. read more

My only issue is that it was a bit overpriced for the services that were quotes for the car. My husband took our car to Firestone last week to replace the motor and a few other things. Our mechanic John was extremely helpful in explaining the whole process to us, allowing us to feel comfortable leaving our car with him. He promised we would receive our car back within 2 days, and we did! The car has never ran better! The pricing was very reasonable for Ann Arbor. Due to such an AMAZING experience with working John, I am 100% sure we will be back to this location for all our automotive needs!! Cannot recomend this place enough! read more

I think Russ and Ross at this location were really fair. I was on the defensive and ready to get scammed, but actually they were very professional, polite, and everything was very fairly priced. I had an issue with tires that I bought at another location and were much more willing to work with me than other Firestone locations in town were. There was also a miscommunication that led to services being a bit longer and it all could've gone a bit sour, but both Russ and Ross were very kind. I think I am being generous here by rating them at 2 stars, I'm just being fair. There are very few honest motor mechanics out there that will give you a correct estimate, correct diagnosis and not try to squeeze out every penny they possibly can from you. The guys at Firestone are definitely not one of those. They seem to work on commission so they're just trying to make some money to feed their families which is fine but don't stretch it to the extent that you're taking undue advantage of customers. I went in for a tire change during winter (which is quite severe in MI with quite a bit of snow) because my old tires had little thread left and they surely wouldn't work in the snow. I did not want to invest in snow tires due to the cost at that point so I asked them about new tires to put on which would work reasonably well in all seasons. I admit I was naive at that point and did not do any research on tires but I was expecting them to offer a choice of tires and explain those choices. They just told me that they would be putting Bridgestone tires and I believed that they would put something that would work well in all seasons. Having started a new job just about that time and also planning a wedding, I was quite busy and did not pay a lot of attention to what type of tires they were putting on. If I remember correctly the old tires were all seasons and I assumed that they would put the same tires. They put !!summer tires!! in the middle of winter when I told them that I was replacing tires to be able to work reasonably well in snow but did not want snow tires. I made a mistake of trusting them to give me what I asked for. A honest business would is expected to try and give a customer information of what their options are and then let them choose. They were so sneaky about this whole thing because they knew that the summer tires won't work at all in snow so that would force me go back and get snow tires or some other tires with better snow ratings. It was my mistake that I did not do my homework but I believe this is not how businesses should cheat customers. The worst part is that I thought I was getting a personal experience with the guy who was handling my work because I spoke to him a couple of times before I got the tires, so he was well aware of what I was looking for and he knew the tires he sold me were totally opposite of what I had asked for. I was going from an absolutely amazing and honest mechanic I had in MA to weaselly ones at Firestone who I unwittingly trusted, expecting similar service. Boy I was so wrong! I would stay clear of these sneaky people, they are absolutely untrustworthy, unless you know someone there well enough to trust. I am not going there again for anything because I just don't trust them. Big lesson learnt, don't every trust a motor mechanic until you are absolutely sure. Another thing to know is that they are definitely overpriced and make sure you check your receipt for unexpected charges before walking out. read more

Had an unexpected car problem with major rattling in the wheel, and a lot of pulling, on a Sunday while about 90 minutes from home. There aren't a lot of car repair options on a Sunday. With my whole family in the car, and suspecting a major issue, I wasn't willing to drive home. There were a few Firestone locations that were open. The first one we called said they were too busy, and wouldn't help. At the second one, David said they were also very busy, but understood our situation, and was willing to try to help. He got it in, and found some wheel bearings were shot. He got them replaced, and we were able to drive back home. Thank you, David, for going above and beyond for the safety of my family! read more

Ross and the gang the gentleman who checked me out and refilled and topped of my windshield fluid were great. I had to take my moms 2011 bmw in for alignment and belle tire nor Midas would do it. When we asked about it the manager was very rude insulting the condition of the car and us for inquiring. This is a terrible place. First they lied about how long the wait was, it took hours, Then they lied about what work my car needed. All I wanted was new tires. Then the manager tried to get me to buy some protection plan for my new tires by saying "what if I hit a pothole and blow my tire out,: they would replace it for free." The small print in the paperwork says this would not be covered. Shortly after this visit I took my car to another but trustworthy mechanic and he confirm what I already suspected, that my car did not need new brakes and all the other stuff that they tired to get me to buy. UM daughter brought in flat tire for repair. They claimed insufficient tread to repair, but agreed that tread was above the wear bar. They refused to to repair the tire, took advantage of her inexperience and tried to sell her new tires. She had to use Uber to get to class. Avoid like the plague. read more

Very friendly customer service!! I needed to get an oil change on the fly before a trip, so I called and asked if they could squeeze me in, and thankfully they could after I got out of work. I usually pay $45 to get my oil changed and they vacuum my car (which I love!). Firestone was close to $60 even with a coupon and there was no complimentary services (which is why I can only give 3 stars). Side note - I left my wallet there on accident, and the guys tried calling me twice to get me to come back, but I was already en route home. Returned the next day and they had put it in the safe and held it for me. Really awesome gesture and much appreciated! I'd recommend this location if you need something done in a hurry or want to cruise the mall while you wait. read more

Several years ago I took my Toyota in to have the tires rotated and balanced. They said they needed to replace the tires because of "cupping." No sale. After being rotated and balanced at Terry's tire in Pontiac, the tires ran perfectly until replacement 20,000 miles later. read more
