This is an excellent tire repair shop with friendly service, fast problem-solving, and very high technical standards. I've had my tires repaired here twice, and both experiences were outstanding. The first time, I drove in right before closing. One of my tires had been completely pierced by a metal rod. Despite the late hour, the staff welcomed me warmly and worked very patiently, trying multiple times to repair the tire. When they realized it couldn't be safely fixed, they took the time to carefully explain the situation and, with my approval, helped me replace it with a new tire. I truly appreciated their professionalism and transparency. The second time, I came in with three aging tires that were slowly leaking air. The team inspected everything carefully and fixed the issues quickly. After that, I drove all the way from Michigan to Texas with a heavily loaded car, and had zero tire problems throughout the entire trip! Abe saved the day! My wife gave me a call on a Saturday afternoon because our car was doing something funny on the north side of town. I went out to see if perhaps my mere presence might be able to fix the issue. Don't laugh. Sometimes that's all it takes. But not this time. This time, the car was clearly broken. Fortunately, we have AAA and could get a tow. Unfortunately, by the time our tow truck was going to arrive, most garages would be closed. Plus our usual mechanic was a good bit further away. Grabbing the handy dandy Yelp app, I looked for nearby mechanics that had good ratings, which is how I stumbled upon Broadway Auto Services. I spoke to Abe on the phone, and he told me about the after hours key drop box, so our tow truck driver could simply drop the car for Abe and his team to evaluate. You already know how this ends. Abe saved the day. Once the problem was diagnosed, he emailed me an estimate. The estimate was fair, I approved it, and the work was complete. Apparently, the work is also guaranteed within a network of independent auto shops. Bonus! Now the car is back to being fully functional. Sure, there is other work we can do on it, and Abe let me know what else could be done. But there was no pressure to take care of any of those issues at the time. While we still love our regular mechanic, I have no reservations recommending Broadway Auto Services to anyone who lives nearby, or finds themselves in a pinch on the north side of Ann Arbor. read more

My daughter and I drove over Ann Arbor on a Saturday from Chicago to do a campus visit at Univ of Michigan. After walking around the Big House we drove over to get lunch at Zingerman's and my car started hissing and the engine started smoking right when I parked. I found Broadway Auto from a Google search and called them. I believe the owner answered the phone and said he could look at the car even though it was Saturday afternoon and he even helped arrange a tow truck to take my car to the shop. Unfortunately for me the problem was more entailed than originally thought so I had to leave my car there over the weekend. The guys in the front were very helpful finding a rental car and finding transportation to get the rental so I could get back to Chicago. Monday morning I received a call saying they had worked on the car on Sunday (their day off) and it would be ready to pick up by lunch time. By the time I arrived the car was ready and the bill thankfully came in at the low end of the estimate. Exceptional customer service!! Called and asked if they could fit me in for a tire fix, I showed them the screw.. job was done in less than 5 minutes and I go to pay.. $30 is what they were asking for. A Tire rotation is $20 and is much more labor intensive. Price went down to $20 after that was mentioned.. convenient but that comes at a cost. read more

I had a very positive experience here. Arrived at 7:15am on a Wednesday needing fairly routine maintenance (full-synthetic oil change and tire rotation). My car was good to go and ready for pickup Thursday morning. Pricing was very reasonable for these services. Make sure to ask them to apply the 7% discount for new customers. I forgot do to this, but they said I can apply it on my next visit. The employees are friendly. I notice that the negative reviews of this place often say that they bring unexpected problems to your attention, adding cost and headache to your visit (e.g., "while we were putting on your snow tires we happened to notice that your battery is dying and you need an oil change"). When I arrived for my maintenance the guy at the computer also suggested two other things they could do while my car was in the shop (flush/replace coolant and check fluids). Sure, this is annoying, but it's not surprising - they are trying to make sales. I just told him "no, I only want the oil change and tire rotation" and I never heard any more about additional charges. Problem solved. So, just stand your ground if they try to sell you stuff! read more

Monday morning, I called multiple times between 7-7:15am because it was urgent that I had my car back on the road as I use it for work. I got no answer so I just drove there since I live less than a mile away. They weren't open so I went home & waited until 8, finally someone answered. Took my car a few minutes after 8am and was told they could AT LEAST diagnose it and would call. By 4, still no word so I called and was told "we sent the estimate by email hours ago!". Upon checking, I'm quoted $1500 for a new water pump-- nearly $1200 is labor alone and was told it would take a "few days" to fix. I knew this was WAY overpriced so I took my car elsewhere. The water pump was replaced AND an oil change for the 1/3 of the quote I was given at Broadway AND it was done in less than two hours. Unless you want to be without your vehicle for an unreasonable amount of time and pay exorbitant prices, take your car elsewhere! read more

Took my car in for brake shuddering and was told I needed to replace all 4 brake rotors and pads for about $800 because they looked horrible. It wasn't driving that badly so went to Firestone on Huron, where they told me my back brakes looked great. Dan at Firestone took the time to educate me and told me back brakes are pretty much always replaced less often than the front and I was able to just repair the front for half the price there. Don't go to this place unless you know exactly what your car needs because they're greedy and will try to get you to make useless repairs. read more

Brought my car in for squeaking AND slapping in the serpentine belt and also to change my front brake pads. This costed 280 for parts and 215 for labor (totaling at 525). Upon driving my car the first time, I heard squeaking. Confirming that they didn't run the car longer than a few minutes or test drive it before returning it (after brake work- which is negligent). After bringing the car back, they asked if the car had any work done on it previously. It had engine work two months ago and, regrettably, I shared this information. Without even glancing under the hood, the mechanic said that the squeaking was coming from the engine. I took my car to another auto shop and confirmed that it wasn't coming from the engine (which I already knew) and it wasn't. I've now not had access to my car for multiple days and paid for services that I cannot confirm were necessary. In total, repairs that would've costed about 500-600 dollars will now total out to 950 dollars. read more

I grew up working on cars as my father was a mechanic. I went here based upon the recommendation of a friend. I stopped by on a Friday to ask questions regarding their services. As Abe quoted me prices on different services, I made sure to write everything down. Satisfied with his answers, I decided to bring my truck in on a Saturday morning. As I have written in my notebook, he indicated that the first person to bring their vehicle in on Saturday would be the first to be worked on. I assumed it would not take long to check the vehicle over and do an alignment. I also understood that there could possibly be other issues but I was pretty sure it was an alignment only. I brought my truck at 8:30 am. The shop opens at 9. I was the first person there and Jose was very nice in filling out a work order. I was told I would be called when it was ready. I phoned at noon only to find that they had an oil change listed (there's a sticker in my window clearly indicating I don't need an oil change). After nicely reiterating that I thought I only needed an alignment, I was told there were cars being worked on from the previous day and it would be a few hours before they could even look at it. I finally walked over, only to find the truck in the same spot and other cars lined up at the bays to be worked on. Some of which I knew came after mine. Abe then became somewhat rude when I inquired as to the first come first served policy on Saturday. In fact, I reviewed my notes to make sure I had this correct. Abe then said "I know what I told you" when I addressed the issue of first come first served. I asked for my keys at which time he asked if I wanted an appointment for next week and indicated that Saturday may not be best day to bring in a vehicle. I post great reviews when warranted and try not to post bad ones unless I feel as if someone is trying to take advantage of me. My wife's car had loss of power driving in to work near Plymouth rd exit. So I drove down to look at it. i was under the assumption it was the turbo going bad. I was able to drive it here . So I could get it looked at. It was Easter weekend so they were the closest shop open. So I told them that I thought that the cars turbo was failing. They took note of this. I heard from them on Monday, they told me that it needed a tune up serpentine belt spark plugs and and coil pack . So relieved I said they could fix it. 800 dollars our so. I asked about getting brakes done how much that would cost, said 300-400 . so I said we might as well do those to. so next day I received the quote for how much everything would cost it was 1800. so I realized the break was 3 to 400 plus labor. So I called first thing in morning, they hadn't done the breaks yet so I said that's too much for me that I would do it myself. so they said they would make note of this. So my total would be back to 800. Latter they called me that I could pick it up that day. so I asked if I could pay over phone, my total was 1800 they had done the breaks on my car, which frustrated me because I clearly said to not do them. But since they already did the work I just sucked it up and payed since telling myself that at least it didn't need a turbo. while on the phone i was told that they were currently taking it for a test drive. Shortly after they called me back and said they had bad news that the car needs a turbo. And that it would need a turbo. Estimated price 2000. now I'm pretty mad cause i told them, that I thought it was the turbo. they didn't even test for it. I asked if they test drove it when it came in they said they didn't. They didn't scan the car either. I work in the auto bodyindustry at a very reputable shop. we alway try to help our customer. especially if it's us that makes a mistake. They didn't offer any type of money off. They asked what do I wanna do. And I said I felt that I should pay for one or the other either the turbo our the tune up. Instantly got upset said he'll take his parts out and put my parts back in and refund me for the tune up. Hangs up. so I picked my car up with a trailer to take to the most honest mechanic I know in the Pinckney area. Has a shop at his house. don't take you car here unless you need your brakes done or something easy. if your car is having issues throwing codes you'd be better of taking it to a dealer for a diagnostic test. Don't take it to a place like this that is charging competitive rates, and are still learning how to diagnose a car. read more

I went here on the recommendation of two male friends. I spoke to the owner on the phone and he was really nice. My car needed new brake pads and rotors and after calling around to compare prices, decided to go to Broadway. I dropped off my car Sunday, leaving my key in the lock box. I heard nothing from them Monday. I called them Tuesday afternoon and they had not even looked at my car yet. I picked it up Wednesday afternoon and had to wait over an hour (they clearly had not started working until an hour before). The owner said he would give me a "great deal" which was 7% off, which is listed on their website for new customers. He did say that I could have a free oil change when I needed one. A month later I call to schedule an oil change. He says they open at 7am on Monday and they will do it while I wait. I show up at 7:10 Monday and the place is closed. The owner shows up a few minutes later and says no one will be there for 45 minutes to work on it so I should leave, but that it will be done by 9 or 10. Where is this communication going wrong?! Anyways, I call back Tuesday afternoon and talk to someone else who says they have not done it yet, but that it will be done by 5. I ask that he please call me. He never does. Finally Wednesday mid-morning I go to pick it up and someone is driving it out of the bay as I arrived. Thankfully a car isn't necessary every day for me in Ann Arbor but geeze - don't go here if you need your car fixed in a timely manner. While the owner is nice, I want someone to be realistic about how long things are going to take. I'm not going back. read more

Considering it is so damn hard to find a good mechanic/shop these days, I can't have better words for these guys... I had a few problems with my car that had been sitting around for months and I could not jump start it.... I called AAA (since I had replaced batteries 6 months ago from them) and all they had to offer was to say that they wouldn't provide me service, since my car doesnt have valid plates... !! I didnt know that AAA has started lobbying for MVD... anyway... so I started looking for a mechanic and found these guys online (hail google maps !)... called them to see what they could offer me (towing, jumper etc) and they sent someone over in literally 5 mins... Abe came over and jump started my car, looked at it and said that it is in good shape... and he was almost about to leave (without charging me ! first good sign of an excellent customer service.. dont lie about (non-existent) problems, and he didn't !) ... I insisted that I still would come over to the shop and get things checked... so I followed him over to his shop... it took them about 10 mins to change oils and that sort of general maintenance... (again, very genuinely told me that the car was absolutely fine and didn't try create artificial work for himself !) ... and then he charged me some minimum amount for road-side assistance and routine maintenance... I dont want to say that you dont get good genuine service these days, but good-genuine-cheap-quick service is almost an impossibility in the area of mechanics... (trust me, I am a mechanical engineer and I have seen so many mechanics lying about some non-existent problems to fool customers and earn free money)... not at this place... all in all, genuinely impressed and satisfied with the service and work... read more

I had been frustrated with creaking noise issue when turning. I went to Firestone and Honda Service for diagnosis. They pointed on the struts. I replaced them and I still heard the same noise. My friend asked me to talk to Abe at Broadway Auto Service. His mechanic sat down with me in the car and made sure we are hearing the same noise.
