Well I am very disappointed in both GrubHub and the Oceanside Firehouse Subs. I placed an order about an hour ago. I thought everything was fine. I noticed that my computer showed that the guy had delivered my sandwich. He claimed it was on my front porch. It is not here. When I tried to call him and sort this out, he was so hard to understand, I finally hung up on him. I have paid about $30.00 for air!! Nobody tried to make this situation right. The driver kept arguing with me (at least I thing he was, I didn't understand a word this guy from Chicago said, but from his tone of voice I could tell he was mad at ME and didn't offer to fix the situation.) If you are wise, you won't order using GrubHub from Firehouse Subs, which is a shame because they are delicious!! read more

I've never been to this place but I decided to come check it out. I really didn't know what to expect I just thought it was going to be like Subway well I was wrong and I'm glad I was wrong. They have a lot more toppings and different types of meats. The sandwich I got was pretty good and the price wasn't too bad. They were a lot of people inside eating which tells me this place is doing something good. Would I come here again? Yes I would but it's a little out of my way. There's not a lot of Fire Houses around so I guess I can make the trip over. read more

Firehouse Subs - Sandwiches Near Me - Oceanside, California

First time at this location. Ordered meatball sub on app for pickup. When I walked in, none of the workers greeted me or were friendly. I was behind a guy in line and didn't hear anyone say anything to him. My order was supposed to be done at 11:20, but wasn't done til few min after. Also I ordered no pickle because I don't like and not only did they put a pickle in, it was laying across the top of my sandwich so my sandwich tasted like pickle. I think I'll stick to the Temecula location from now on. read more

I used to love firehouse subs but they do not have very many locations anymore. This location is super dirty . I witnessed a employee coming from the outside touching trash wearing the same gloves he uses to make the sandwiches he literally walked in from cleaning something outside and proceeded to make food same gloves it was disgusting! They also don't store food properly literally the fridge behind the cash wrap had random sliced meat laying there no lid nothing. Save yourself from potential food poisoning / cross contamination go somewhere else ! I got a refund and left! read more

Wow, $16.00 for a medium sub and small drink. It's time to stop eating out anymore. This is crazy ?

The food is amazing and consistently made every time. The only issues are the general lack of friendliness by the staff and the occasional restroom malfunction. The layout makes it awkward when busy if your seated - right next to people in line. read more

The girl taking our order was extremely rude. This is what I ordered and this is what I got. I do not intend coming back here after how me and my family were treated.. read more

Of all the chain-store sub shops out there (Subway, Jersey Mike's, Port O' Subs, Submarina), I think Firehouse is the best. They make some of the tastiest sammies I've ever had from a fast sandwich shop, all made to order and all delicious. They have hot and cold options, and the large ones are truly large - they will fill you up like a broken pipe fills up your basement (but without the dirt and bugs 'n stuff). My favorite is the Engineer. They have a great loyalty program too, and you can buy those big red 5-gallon buckets that their pickles are shipped in to use around the yard or just stick your head into and smell the pickle smell (I've never done it, honest... riiiiight). They also donate a portion of their proceeds to firefighting organizations, which I love. One caveat: be VERY CLEAR in your ordering, since the register staff tends to be on the young and inexperienced side (which is cool; kids need to have opportunities), and if you don't tell them EXACTLY what you want, you may be surprised. Other than that - it's all good! read more

On the way to visit our friends in San Diego we stopped by to grab a quick bite. We yelped and this joint showed up with good ratings. We ordered their New York pastrami combo and a chicken sandwich. Total with tax came to $19.95. Pros: Ambiance is unique. Ian absolutely loved the Fire station setup. (+1) New York pastrami was good. TV's playing games. Cons: Coke machine was more like a puzzle. Too many options. Price was $2.00 more than what I would normally pay for the taste and quantity. (-1) I would stop by again in the future as Ian will be thoroughly entertained by the decor! read more

Firehouse Subs - New York Steamer. To go. - Sandwiches Near Me - Oceanside, California

I just had one of best pastrami sandwiches I've ever had, right here. I've never been to Firehouse Subs before. I'm glad. The place is expensive. I ordered their New York sub with pastrami and corned beef. With drink and chips, it cost me nearly $15. I had to deduct a star for the price, and the price alone was the reason for the deduction. I can't afford to eat here all the time. And that's a shame. Lola, the friendly employee who took care of me, almost talked me into a beef and cheese sandwich. Almost. I was totally in the mood for it, too, until I saw the aforementioned New York sub. I've been craving pastrami for a while. So I asked Lola to hook it up with the fixings she liked the best (lettuce and pickles - definitely do it) and waited for my order. All I can say is that I was hooked on the first bite. It was hard to tell where the pastrami ended and the corn beef began - it was all so tender and juicy that the flavor blended together into each bite. The bread was fresh, the Italian dressing enhanced the flavor, and the tangy pickles added a satisfying crunch. And for a medium, that sandwich was yuge! And completely filling. Oh, Firehouse Subs, why do you have to gouge my wallet for a sandwich? Oh, but what a sandwich. I'll be back, if only on occasion, when I need to treat myself. read more

Save your money & Don't go , they are very rude in this store & sandwiches are below average .

I've Never eaten at a Firehouse subs before. since, I had a Dr appt nearby I thought I'd stop in for a sandwich. Let me tell you, I had the sandwich of the day, BBQ Cuban & it was the best sandwich, I'd ever eaten!! so flavorful & delicious! Great job boys!! The young men behind the counter were so welcoming & kind & I of the gentleman told me, he ate one & loved it!! I highly recommend this sandwich shop to all sandwich lovers. read more

We love coming here. I get the Hook & Ladder sandwich. It's very good & I love the sweetness to it. The others in my fam get the turkey bacon ranch & the meatball subs. Each comes with a side pickle and my family ends up giving me theirs since I'm a bigger fan of pickles than they are. No problem. More for me! The jalapeno chips are great too. If you love hot sause they have a plethera of options avail & you can even buy a bottle to take home if you want. Each time we come the staffers are frendly and the place is kept clean. We love the theme, decor, and supporting good causes of course. Firemen thank you for your services! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. There were two young men working today. They were totally and completely incompetent. They made my very simple sandwich wrong, TWICE. The place is fifthly, the food gross. Stay away, don't eat there. To say it is not worth the money is an understatement. you could not pay me to eat here again. read more

wow, really ??? ok, let me make sure i got this straight : two times ago when we ate at FIREHOUSE SUBS we were charged for four sandwiches even though we only ordered three and (eventually) got three. we caught your mistake while we were sitting outside waiting and waiting and waiting for our order. the irony is, if your service was better, we might not have had the chance to notice. last time when we ate at FIREHOUSE SUBS you guys charged us over $12 for my ten-year old's medium sandwich because he had you hold everything besides the meat, cheese and bread and add avocado. we caught your mistake while we were sitting outside waiting and waiting and waiting for our order. the irony is, if your service was better, we might not have had the chance to notice. this time when we ate at FIREHOUSE SUBS you guys charged us the regular price for a medium ITALIAN even though a medium ITALIAN is the sunday special and it was sunday and when my wife ordered she even said she wanted the sunday special. we caught your mistake while we were sitting outside waiting and waiting and waiting for our order. the irony is, if your service was better, we might not have had the chance to notice. tonight when we asked for glasses for water the young lady at the register nodded toward the soda machine and pointed out it was broken and tried to charge us $7.09 for three bottles of water. thanks anyway but we went next door to JAMBA JUICE and got a smoothie for half as much money and three waters for free. the first time we were overcharged, i shrugged it off. shit happens, right ?? the second time, i was troubled we were overcharged AGAIN but bent over backwards to give FIREHOUSE SUBS the benefit of the doubt. the third time we were overcharged, i wrote this review. i didn't buy RICHARD NIXON's book. i won't buy books from crooks. i didn't buy HILLARY CLINTON's book. i won't buy books from crooks. i won't buy whatever trashy "fake news" book DONALD TRUMP has ghost written for him while he's twiddling his thumbs in prison. i don't buy books from crooks. and, as of tonight, i don't buy sandwiches from FIREHOUSE SUBS either. read more

I've always loved Firehouse Subs. I prefer it 100% more than Subway, Jimmy Johns, etc. The establishment is pretty well kept & their sandwiches are pretty decently sized, made, & taste pretty well. When my husband & I come here, our orders are always the same (we don't like change very much - since the Marine Corps seems to do that to us naturally lol). I always get the chicken bacon ranch on wheat (usually a 6 inch because I can't finish anything bigger than that) & my husband gets a 12 inch meatball sub (& finds a way to finish it lol). I like the touch of the cute pickle we get with every sandwich! & PS: If you're a policeman, firefighter, or active duty military - you get a free drink every time! Just show them your ID. read more

I love this place and as a matter of fact my wife and 2 sons also love their food, their service, and the atmosphere there. The place is always very clean, the employees are always friendly, and their food is put together in a timely manner and is delicious. Since our first visit there, we stopped going to other sandwich shops. read more

I've never written a negative review towards a food establishment before because I understand how hard it can be working in that industry. But I have to say this location was such a disappointment :( I completely understand when a place is understaffed, I will always cut them some slack. But tonight there were about 5 employees behind the counter along with a manager and it didn't seem like any of them were aware of all the people waiting. When we got home we realized both of our sandwiches were made wrong and we were missing one pickle!! If you like pickles you know that's the best part :( read more

Service was horrible. These kids were so rude to me and my fiancé, had an attitude and blatantly acted irritated. Gross.

Well, I wasn't going to Yelp this place again-just a check in....BUT as much as I was craving this place and buy I bought a medium size then be disappointed....here I am Yelping them again. So, the 2 females and guy that are working were friendly. They didn't know how to do a free brownie for check in so they didn't want to yes to me when I asked about it. 1/4 of my Hook n ladder has absolutely NO MEAT on it!!!! This is a perfect example of bad management. Sometimes I conduct training classes for my company. Often times we receive Firehouse Subs catering for our lunch. Every single time I have been impressed with the quality and taste of the food. It's nothing special, just your normal sandwich items but it must be the freshness and quality of their product that makes them so good. Anyhow, every time II had it I tell my self that I should actually go get a sandwich from them on my own. I finally did the other day and was so disappointed. Yes, the quality and taste of the food was still great but sadly everything else was awful. The service was bad and terribly, terribly, slow. As in completely, unacceptably slow. I will not be back here again. The only reason I have two stars instead of one is because the food is actually good. read more

The service here is bad! Like maybe the worst of any food place I go. I love the sandwiches, when they manage to get an order right. I am so torn because I love their sandwiches but oh my gosh, their service is PAINFUL! They have one amazing employee, Dane. He is greeting the customers, nicely takes the orders, and tries to rush his co-workers along and nicely apologizes when customers get their sandwiches 30 minutes after ordering- not even exaggerating. I want to understand what takes so long! The inefficiency is INSANE!! Every single time I go in, this is my experience. The manager David is very rude to customers and his employees. The employees (other than Dane) are SO SLOW and not nice to the customers. I just plead with the owner that they will hire employees who want to be there and who will try their hardest to get people their food quickly! They are losing SO much money because I heard 3 groups say they will never come back because they're so slow! It's a shame because the food is so good! read more

I have been coming to Firehouse for years, and this will be my last visit. The sandwiches have gotten worse and so have the employees. It seems like they have a very high turnover rate. Came here for lunch on my birthday because the trick is if you show your ID verifying it's your birthday, you get a free 8" sub. At first I was thinking... 8"?! That's huge! But don't be fooled, it's really not. I ordered the Italian and it was good. I'll admit I'm not a huge fan of baked subs, but I will never complain about a free meal. It's not as big as other sandwiches from sub shops as far as meat and toppings go, they kinda skimp you. My sandwich was just average. The atmosphere was pretty cool, I love how the decor is catered to Firefighters . The whole concept is pretty awesome. The store was clean, and the AC was cranked which was nice. read more

Firehouse Subs - Italian sub - Sandwiches Near Me - Oceanside, California

Food: similar to Subway quality. I ordered the Steak and Cheese because it looked to good in the picture. When I received my sub, it looked nothing like the picture. They skimp you on the steak and hardly put any cheese or peppers on there. The bread was dry and definitely not fresh tasting. The flavor in the steak was ok, but it was scarce. I was let down by going off what the picture of the steak shows on the advertisement. Tons of different hot sauces to try here from 1-10 in heat strength. I tried their version of hot sauce and it was not hot at all and tasted more like BBQ sauce. The soda machine is Coke product and it is digital so they have a large variety of flavors. They have unsweetened and sweetened ice tea next to the soda machines too. I chose to go with an Arnold Palmer (unsweet tea and lemonade minute made lite). They have lemon wedges in this section as well. Service: service was pretty good. There was a mic lady that helped us. I got a free soda for downloading their app and signing up for their emails. You receive award points for each visit and the amt of money you spend here. We ordered our food to dine-in and it was brought out to us in a bag to go. Someone else received their food from the lady working and she dropped the bag on the floor and then handed it to the gentleman. She didn't even as if he wanted a different sandwich. My sandwich looked like it was dropped on the floor too, but it wasn't. Parking: lot is shared with many other places. Parking can get crappy on a busy weekend. We had no trouble on a weekday in October around 1p. Atmosphere: this is the best thing about this place. Very cool and everything is related to the heros. They even have firefighter turnout gear and plastic fire hats for kids to take home. Indoor and outdoor seating. Great AC inside to enjoy on a hot day. There are a couple TVs with sports games on. read more

Been here a few times, the sandwiches are pretty decent. The wait time wasn't too bad this time, but the last time was strangely long, since I was pretty much the only one in line and there were about 6 people working at the time. Most of the sandwiches I've had were pretty good, but I normally get either the New York Steamer (Corned Beef, Pastrami, Provolone) or the Smokehouse Beef and Cheddar (Smoked brisket, cheddar, bbq sauce). The meat is steamed to help add some moisture and melt the cheese before putting it together. There are combos available, and they come with a bag of chips and a drink (32oz?). I don't mind coming here once in a while, but it's not the cheapest place to eat. read more

Firehouse Subs - Turkey Bacon Ranch - Sandwiches Near Me - Oceanside, California

So, about a week ago I came in and ordered (story is below) and wasn't up to normal standards. I finally got ahold of the manager and let me tell you it was amazing. He kept apologizing and saying that their standard is much higher and offered to rectify the situation by giving me a sandwich meal with drink and chips, on the house. David, sweet guy, said to come in whenever I could and my food would be waiting. I came in today and ordered, they all apologized and made me feel important. I love this place and support the cause. I understand it was just an off day and they definitely made up for it. Thanks you guys! (: Original review: "I ordered a turkey cranberry sub today and they didn't tell me they were making an extremely large order. So, starting off it took like twenty minutes to get my sandwich... I get back to the dental office I work at and come to find out that the add one I ordered weren't on it including THE TURKEY. Literally, a lettuce with tomato sandwich... I called them back to discuss it and they said for me to hold and don't even let me respond and I can here them taking others order and I was on hold for almost ten minutes before hanging up. I called back six times and no answer. Extremely pissed off and disappointed." read more

15-20 mins waiting for our 2 sandwiches... Well that was the first disappointment of coming in. I wouldn't have minded the wait so much since we were busy watching the US Open Match on their TV. If they had just acknowledged us and kept us in the loop, like hey were out of meatballs were making a new batch now, that Prolly would have been awesome to know instead of sitting clueless. Disappointment number 2... As soon as I close the door to our car I could smell the horrific smell of cheese(we can't stand cheese)... So I open the bag to find my meatball sandwich covered in cheese. Now my wait becomes even longer for them to correct my order. I will say that they were more then understanding that the order had been messed up and gladly made us another sandwich. Then my first order took 15-20 mins were my remake order only took 3-5 minutes.... I guess the original wait time could be acceptable if the food came out the way we had ordered it. To say the least it was a little disappointing since I had been craving their sandwiches for some time. I hope next time is better. read more
