We came here for a late lunch on a Tuesday afternoon. The menu is easy to read and there are lots of choices of both cold and hot sandwiches, soups and salads. We both got a hook and ladder sub and they were good. Could have used more cheese and meat but good taste. The tables were clean and the store had good lighting, so bright interior. Service however was not as good as most places. I asked for a sub sauce instead of mayo or mustard and they looked at me like I was speaking another language. We did end up with a little oil and vinegar, but not much. My cup had a leak in the bottom and after waiting a while, when I asked for another one, was treated like I was a real pain. No comment at all.... They still have the cherry limeade which is awesome . They even have it with no sugar and sparkling now. Yum! So good sub but not so good service. read more

I ordered a Hook and Ladder salad to go. Upon opening the container, I found the salad was pre-mixed and ingredients were not fresh. Per the staff, the owner mandates they mix all the ingredients in their salads. I believe this is an attempt to reduce the quantity of meats, cheeses in an effort to save costs for the restaurant. For $10, the salad received should appear as appetizing as the menu displays - NOT like a 2 year old prepared it. read more

I ate here on a Monday afternoon for lunch with one other person. These are my thoughts and observations. - Ordering is simplistic like you'd expect from a sub shop. - Prices are comparable to Jersey Mikes. - We had difficulty finding a clean table. I ended up cleaning one off for us. - We waited 10 minutes for 2 sandwiches. That's not too bad for take-out. - Their Italian subs are the bomb. - When I approached the counter a second time to place a to-go order, I was ignored for a few minutes before the employee running the register decided I was serious about placing an order. That 1 sub took them 20 minutes to make. They weren't busy either. Overall, the Italian sub was delicious, but the service was abysmal. Being ignored at the register and a 20 minute wait for a single sandwich is absurd. read more

We have ordered from this location numerous times and it is always quick, accurate, and best of all: delicious! One key factor we think plays into this is their staffing. Every time we have stopped by they have appeared to have a full staff that is energetic to welcome us and prepare our meal. I came here tonight to enjoy a quick dinner with my family. We arrived right before that 6pm dinner rush. Our order was fairly simple, no special requests. My salami and turkey sandwich arrived without turkey. It actually appeared that they put it on, then took the turkey off before sending it out. My husband brought it to the counter for it to be corrected. (All they needed to do was add the turkey). A few minutes had past and my husband went back up to ask about my sandwich. The individual behind the counter went on to explain how there were other orders in front of mine, and then said "what do you want me to do, put it in a box?" I'm sorry, but I do not believe that is how these scenarios should go. If you order a sandwich and it's not correct, it should be given priority, wouldn't you think? So that I may sit with my family and eat instead of getting my food after they are already done eating. I know my husband will probably continue to eat here, since he loves their smokehouse beef and cheddar brisket, but I definitely will not be back. read more

We've been here several times and have always had a good experience. Kids eat free on Tuesday nights, a definite plus. Our 3 year old loves the grilled cheese, which is just a regular grilled cheese, but at least he asks to come here instead of McDonalds if we need to get a meal out. Had lunch here today and it was great. Even though they were pretty busy we got our sub's in less then 5 minutes and they tasted great. Staff was great and upbeat. Definitely one of the better quick food options in the Fuquay Varina area. Update: On our second trip my wife had someone's weave in the sandwich. It wasn't just a few strands either. Oh Firehouse Subs, I want to love you, but you keep trying to kill me! Being a vegetarian at a sub shop is a little difficult sometimes but firehouse subs has a great veggie sub, too bad they can't ever get an order right. I've tried ordering online, ordering in person, and ordering over the phone. Each time I tell them no mushrooms every time the sandwich has mushrooms, it's a shame because I'm allergic and I hate turning around to go back. Here now for the second time with my bf. Amazing service and quality food. We share a large sub and it is more than enough for the both of us. Their 'Captain Sorensen's Datil Pepper Hot Sauce' is the cherry on top of their subs. Each sub comes with a pickle on the side, and all add-ons to the sandwich are no extra charge!! I love Firehouse Subs! I especially like the Italian Sub made with genoa salami, pepperoni, Virginia honey ham, melted provolone which I took off and got monetary jack instead, Italian dressing, and seasonings. Loaded complete with mayo, deli mustard which I opted out of, lettuce, tomato, onion, and a delcious kosher dill pickle on the side! My only complaint is a medium sub is 900 calories so it's not something I can eat a lot. I had several other subs and enjoyed every one. This location is clean and fast service. My GrandBaby and I LOVE to come to this place for our special "date day!" He is a growing boy and absolutely Loves these Subs, and so do I. They have such a great variety of Subs, something for everyone...even Vegetarian.
