Cheeseburger

The service is impeccable at late hours of the night. The food is good, burgers all the way are very filling. The fries are out of this world. The ambiance is fine, similar to an old school diner. The selling point is honestly the small fries, which usually is spilling outside the cup.

I forgot how good their burgers are. This was my first time eating from this location and it was delivered by uber eats. The burger and fries were great! I've never had fries delivered and were afraid they would be cold. They weren't cold but they were not hot either, but they were still good! My suggestion is to seal the bag better, maybe 3 stickers instead of 1 and stickers along the cup attaching the foil some.

We usually love Five Guys and frequent the one in Cary near our home. This time we went to Costco and came to this apex location. Unfortunately this was probably the worst Five Guys I've been to. We were missing toppings on our burgers and our Cajun fries didn't even have salt on them. It's as if they took them out of the frier and put them in the bag. No seasoning, not even salt.. just bare fries. The burgers tasted underwhelming some how, again, maybe lack of seasoning. The fountain drink was even flavorless, just carbonated water. Also, they were out of peanuts. The service was ok but nothing outstanding. Probably won't return to this location.

Wow, what a flip flop. Used to give you a gigantic serving of fries - now giving an extremely small serving.

I like the burgers, the fries, not so much. They were not crispy. I did take out. Maybe they were better when just fried

The best burgers in town. My favorite place to eat with my husband and the grandkids. When I first tasted 5 guys burgers I was hooked.

I love five guys, but they make it way too hard to do a curbside order. The website is confusing and they won't do it over the phone.

AWARENESS: My daughter and I were in the Apex area and…read moredecided to find a nice place for dinner. After opening the Yelp app, looking at reviews and pictures, we decided to give Scratch Kitchen & Taproom and go. NARRATIVE: Due to construction in the parking lot behind Scratch Kitchen (Temple Street), we ended up entering the restaurant from the N. Salem Street. And before going in, I noticed the signage above the building says; Tobacco & Mule Exchange. I'm not sure of the buildings history but the buildings interior has a story. Entering from the Salem Street side, you'll pass several shops and a unique bar / barber shop and Scratch Kitchen is located at the end of the hallway on the left. When we arrived at the podium, just outside the restaurant, we were promptly greeted and seated and within the minute, our server and his "shadow" server greeted us and introduced themselves. And after going over the menu and special meals for the day, our drink orders were taken. We ordered the Spicy Tuna Sushi Round as our appetizer; "Spicy ahi tuna with avocado, cucumber and wake over a seared sushi rice patty with edamame and fried green tomato. Topped with wasabi-miso crema and mirin-soy glaze." It was presented and tasted just as good as it sounds. For the main dish, I had to get the Shrimp & Grits; "Cheddar stone ground grits with seared shrimp and pork belly, peppers, onions and a creamy gochugaru sauce. Topped with green onions." And as you can see by not only my photos but others on Yelp, it was an amazing choice and amazing meal. I don't recall what my daughter had as her main but she said it was really good. SCENE: Scratch Kitchen & Taproom is located in the downtown area of Apex. Parking, especially when city workers are doing construction in the rear lot (Temple Street) can be a challenge. I also noted a man, who had too much to drink did order and get a ride from either an Uber or Lyft which is great if you don't want to drive or worry about parking. RECOMMENDATION(S): Scratch Kitchen is quant with that small town feel. Service from the staff was top notch and genuine and could be felt during our interacts with them. The food and its presentation were exemplary so yes, I'll highly recommend a visit. I know I'll be back.

I couldn't resist trying the fish and wow I am so glad I did!! It's wonderful! It came with coleslaw which was very good too. Now I will be torn every time I go between the fish and the burger! I was so hungry when the food came I just dove in without getting a photo. If you haven't tried their cod yet, do. I got a one piece diner which comes with two sides. I chose their cole slaw, which is quite good, and onion rings, that surprisingly weren't greasy. The cod is just fantastic. Thick and flaky and always cooked perfectly. They have their own root beer at the fountain, diet and regular. It's comes out very foamy so tip your cup when filling it. That helps, but it still takes time for the foam to subside and then add more. I wish they sold it in the grocery stores. It's that good. They have really cute cups too. The ice cream or custard I'm not so crazy about. It's very thick and when getting hot fudge it isn't hot and they only put it on one side of the cup along the inside wall. Strange. Overall the food is consistent, which is always a good thing.

My pick-up time was set for 5 minutes after I sent the order, which was pretty solid. Unfortunately, when I walked in to get my order, the cashier apologetically told me that they hadn't seen the ticket because it doesn't automatically print from website orders. If you do use the website, you should also call them to let them know that you ordered something, which kind of defeats the purpose of using the website I guess. To their credit, the cashier did offer me a free drink while I waited, so I appreciated that. I was a little worried that the location would be confusing since it's inside the Ford dealership, but it was actually really easy to find. Just walk in and look for the sign :) I grabbed a red hot and white hot (which are hot dogs, for the uninitiated!) and macaroni salad for my side. Despite the snafu described above, the food was prepared reasonably quickly, and I took it home to eat. Overall, I thought the hot dogs were pretty decent, but the macaroni salad lacked flavor. It tasted pretty fresh but needed salt or something else to elevate the taste. Overall, I would probably come back here, but maybe for an in-person meal, and I'd try something else. The turkey pesto panini sounded pretty good!

Pretty neat rendition of a traditional product. I had a Heat wave burger, which I thought was going to be really spicy, but was pretty medium, for me... I am from NM, though, so I have a little bit of a spice skew. The burger was nicely cooked, and although the fries came out cold, they remade some for me that were hot and pretty good. They also had a nice beer and cocktail selection, so if you are in the mood, you can get your hop or wheat on, or marg... Nice looking spot on the inside, with either ample table or bar seating, so take your pick. This is the spot where they just announced that the theater will be closing, and demolished forever... in Park West, and I did notice a lot of closed businesses, but that I think is a separate issue relating to the ridiculous rents that they are asking for in Wake as a whole.

We were seated quickly, and the hostess brought us water and hot tea, at our request.
