I hate to post reviews but I feel this place deserves one. I have been to this location in Garner on numerous occasions and have usually had great food and service for a sandwich shop, however for the last few times I have been there, I have had a lot of issues with the food and service from this location for example, the last time I ordered a Hook and Ladder salad, there was no meat on it. So I took the salad back and they put what was missing on it to make it right. This last time I ordered two Hook and Ladder salads, one with everything and one without onions. When I looked at the salads they appeared to be correct but in one of the salads, the onion was in pieces on the bottom. My wife called and the manager on duty tried to argue that there were no onions on that salad. That was correct, they were not on it but in it. They wanted to do a in store credit or gift card but due to all the other issues we've had at this store we requested a refund but the owner refused to give a refund. It seems that at this location you don't get what you pay for, so buyer beware. This location has gone way downhill from when it first opened and we won't be back. read more

I placed an order online for carry out. It consisted of 2 subs, a salad, a bowl of chili, and some mac and cheese. When I arrived to pick it up I was told that they were out of chili and mac and cheese. The workers told me I would have to call the manager to get a refund. I then found out that they hadn't even started making the salad. When they started the salad they told me they were out of the grilled chicken but could substitute turkey, which is approved. I got home and discovered that the salad was just meat and lettuce. They hadn't included the olives, green peppers, etc that should have been on it. The salad is typically in one large bowl, but they sent me out with two small bowls. All in all this was a terrible experience. If you intend to order from this location, I advise you to order in store and make sure that everything is as expected before leaving. read more

The operator of this location personally delivered our catering order to our office and was very genuine and personable. 3 times I have ordered online and 3 times my order was not ready when it said it would be. I love Firehouse subs but not this location.

The hook and ladder is always our go to! My husband and I order the large and split it! It was super fresh, warm, and delicious. We ordered our two children a Turkey kids meal each and they loved it as well! The service was fast, the staff seemed a bit distant but overall friendly and accommodating as needed. DONT EAT HERE THEY GOT ROACHES they smoke vapes over the food and they touch the food with no gloves on. Roaches be on the counter I seen it for my self and I seen and heard them talking about a rat and they thought it was funny to NAME the rat disgusting. The workers go out the back door smoking weed then come back in smelling like a pack of weed and they smoke black and milds the manger does coke in the bathroom And it takes them 15 minutes to make my sandwich they sit and talk while they are making your sub And they don't change their gloves when they are working with a gluten free person. (Nate) the manger he leaves minors in the store by there self he doesn't train nobody he will leave a new worker in the store he doesn't care he's a lazy manger he hires everybody and wonder why the drawers come up short he Will mess your check up and have you wait too more weeks and he was also need mess that check up. You can text Nate every day he won't respond till HE needs something then he will act like he doesn't see your messages. They smoke vapes all in the back of the store even in front of the customers. He hires homeless people they bring in all the bookbags and he wonders they got roaches he tell you that somebody supposed to come in he will leave one person in the store late at night and tell them to call somebody. Nothing all too special, kind of a plain Firehouse but they definitely are taking all COVID precautions. They removed hot sauce and spaced out tables, provide hand sanitizer and wear masks and gloves. Staff is nice and there are a lot of soda options. read more

Update 1.5 years later: I tried coming back at least 10 times because I love firehouse and it's only 3 minutes from my work. It is absolutely horrible. I don't think I have ever gotten my order right a single time. Ask for cold, you get hot. Ask for mayo, you get mustard. Ask for only lettuce, you'll get lettuce and tomatoes. Today I ordered a combo with a cookie and there were none available. 20 minutes later, I ask when they'll be done. They say they'll be done in just a few minutes. 10 minutes later, the lunch crowd is gone and they are cleaning up. I ask again and they say they just pulled them from the oven and need 2-3 minutes to cool down. Okay cool! It's 12:57 now. At 1:12 I ask again and the lady gives me a cookie that looked more like warm cookie dough. I worked retail long enough to know that crap happens, but this was one of the worst retail experiences I've ever had. No apologies, didn't offer anything to make up for it, nothing. If you have time, head to the North Raleigh Firehouse. I miss everything about that location. Original review: I've been here twice now and the subs are always sloppy. Meat is only on half, sub is completely cut in half and everything falls out when you undo the wrapper, condiments are lazily thrown on. I will not be coming back for a third sloppy sub. read more

This place was pretty good if I say so myself and the staff was friendly enough . I did like the firemen's theme and the wall of fire as I call it , which is a wall of all these different kinds of hot sauces . All of which look as if they could cause flu like symptoms or just give you a heart attack flat out but it's still cool . The sub variety is pretty decent and all of which are well prepared . I ordered a New York Steamer, most of which ended up in the trash. The bread and cheese were flavorless, and the pastrami tasted like a straight mixture of salt and cooking grease. About 3 tablespoons of mayonnaise were smeared on either slice of bread, but apparently, that wasn't enough. Add in a few squirts of mustard and something that is supposed to be Italian dressing (it's not), and you've got a sandwich that is unfit for human or animal consumption. There was a TV showing some type of fighting match which two staff were more interested in than preparing orders prior to my arrival. It had to be 3-5 minutes before someone acknowledged me and took order after I was standing at register. The gentleman who took my order was not very energetic. Sure subway is cheaper but Firehouse is better. Now I eat subway about once a week at least and always get the cold cut trio. The subs at firehouse are hands down much better. First of all, everything is cooked. Yes cooked. When I got the sub, all the meat was hot and the cheese was melted on top. Also I like it that they add all the ingredients already in the sandwich like Jimmy Johns. Yes choices are good but sometimes you just want to order and take a seat. Bc the sub is actually cooked and made to order, it took a few minutes. Now this is my second time to firehouse and it's been years since I last went. I can't believe I have been going without it all this time when it's only 5 min away from my house. This location was great. Pleasant workers, clean and one of those new soda machines. I come here a lot and usually get the same thing. The smokehouse beef and cheddar. It's always been great but this time my first bite was absolutely disgusting. I'm not sure if they overcooked it or it was bad beef but it was so dry it tasted like sand or a really overdone turkey. Won't be going back to this location. read more

Food is good, assuming you get the right thing. Staff was incredibly rude to customers in front of us, and were having inappropriate conversations in front of guests. I ordered an italian sub, but was brought a philly after waiting well over 10 minutes for my sandwich. The restaurant itself was disgusting, and the coke freestyle machine was out of nearly every flavor. There was a note taped to it that said "coke machine is out of some stuff" or something to that effect. We did get a coupon for a free sub on our next visit because i received the wrong sandwich and had to wait. I doubt I'll ever use it though because i probably won't go back. read more

Food's decent but God forbid if you want something slightly different from the menu. I like my meatball sub with tomatoes and the manager gives me a (non joking) hard time every single time. Then one time I went and ordered a meatball with tomatoes on white and when I got home it was on wheat, cold, with no tomatoes. The next day I asked for a small discount and the manager was rude about it and gave me $0.85 discount. Surprising to see the staff friendly but the manager rude.
