The ham was a little sweet, it's honey ham, which I was expecting, so I thought they used miracle whip. (They don't, they use Dukes by the way). They automatically heat the subs without asking if you want it that way or not. For me heating up COLD CUTS is awful. Thats why they're called cold cuts, because they're served COLD! It also makes the bun dried out and tough. Maybe that's why we don't go there very often, I really don't know. It's not our favorite, that's for sure. read more

I was given a coupon for a free sub, but I've never been to firehouse before so I let the excessively attractive cashier pick for me, my food was given to me super quickly by another excessively attractive employee, and this is probably the best hot sub I've had in raleigh. I've been to this location many times and was usually pretty good and I always got the NY steamer.. It has been a while since we have been so we stopped in today. Worst sub ever, NY steamer, 1 semi fat slice of fatty tough corned beef, no pastrami that I could see. Way to much mayo and mustard and the bread was falling apart I couldn't even bite through the meat. I threw it in the trash and when an employee said to have a nice day I went up and told her it was the worst sandwich I had had. They instantly got defensive and accused me of eating the whole thing. I told her I threw the whole thing away minus a couple bites and didn't want my money back just telling them it was terrible so they might do something for future customers. They'll probably be closed soon, good riddance, I won't be going back. read more

Let me start by saying I don't eat at a lot of sub shops. I have eaten at all the them, but there are only two that have survived my preferences. Firehouse is one of them. They have flavorful (yes, that can be done apparently) subs with all the fixins. They're juicy on soft bread. They even cut them diagonally so you can chomp right in. Don't be picky - get that sub "fully involved" and dig in. And wash it down with one of the gazillion flavors from their Coca-Cola Freestyle machine. Or you can mix them all and make the beast of all suicides! Last note - they have the best got sauce selectuon around. Do NOT pass them up. Put a little dab on there so you can at least say you did. The restaurant is always clean. The staff is always friendly and fast. This spot gets a big fiery hell yes. read more

Out of chicken and turkey today, also I asked for jalapeños and black olives and when I got back home they wasn't on it normally they are really good and fast today they wasn't busy either but other than that they were completely friendly and polite read more

Perfectly average sub for okay price. They are incapable of making the right orders though. Asked for chopped pickles. Didn't put them on. I don't know what the deal is with Firehouse subs refusing to put pickles INSIDE the sub. Even asked to do so, and despite having it on the online order menu as an option, they just won't...!? Multiple times now. I'm confused as to if this is an audacity to tell customers how they should eat a 'sub' as premium as this item is... or just consistent oversight... overall this is never a store nor brand of my choice for subs. read more

Waited 15 minutes for steak and cheese sub before lunch crowd hit. Only 2 people in front me were waiting for sub. Specifically ordered steak and cheese no mayo or mushrooms and please make sure no pickle on side. After waiting what seemed an eternity for my sub upon arrival noticed pickle in basket. No biggy it happens almost every time and I've just become accustom to it. Opened sub found no cheese and no deli mustard. While lifting bun found bread was cold. Checked steak and found ice cold. Needless to say I asked for money back in which they only refunded the sub and not my meal. Yeah I won't be back. read more

I have been to Firehouse Subs elsewhere and enjoy the service and food. However at this location there is no such thing as customer service. I had to wait for over 10 minutes because employees are out back smoking cigarettes. To make matters worse they return and don't wash their hands. There is no welcoming atmosphere at all. I ordered a #3 Steamer sub (large) with chips and soda. This is where things get interesting. The meat is supposed to go into a Firehouse Subs steamer machine. Instead I witnessed the beef being transported by paper towel to a steamer and hot water from a pitcher added. Put it this way, there was no visible steam coming from the machine. I received my sandwich and took a bite only to experience cold meat. I returned to the counter but the employees went outside again to smoke. They did acknowledge I was at the counter but refused to come inside. I stood standing for an additional 10 minutes. NO EMPLOYEE WOULD ASSIST! I ended up leaving and called Firehouse Subs Customer Service. They are no help at all because all they do is forward your complaint back to the store. Basically horrible service, poor food and not a place worthy of the Firehouse Subs name and reputation. read more

Haven't had the food yet. The employees are a bit ditsy. Describing them as ditsy is being extremely nice. I mean if I stand directly in front of a register to order, I'm obviously ready to place it. Instead the employee literally stares off into the distance like a zombie thinking about brains. The place is dead yet the floors and tables are disgusting. There are wads of napkins all torn apart under the table legs to keep the tables leveled. I guess clean up time only happens when they close. I dunno. I'm afraid to try this food. They acted way too carefree and immature and they're the ones handling my meal. read more

I typically avoid sub sandwich places. I decided to give Firehouse a try. I had the Smokehouse Beef and Cheddar Brisket sub #10. It was delicious. The meat had that mouth watering, slow roasted taste. The BBQ sauce was sweet and smokey. I will definitely be back for more. read more

From the time that we entered the restaurant I received a warm and friendly greeting. Shortly after I was greeted again friendly and warm by the cashier waiting to take my order. Crystal was who assisted me, she was very friendly, courteous and so helpful in me placing my order with ease. We received our orders, prepared exactly as I had ordered them and they were simply delicious. Shamarr delivered our food to us with a smile and was very courteous. Shortly thereafter, Brittany approached our table to check and see if we needed anything. It was also my birthday and before we left we complimented the entire crew on their wonderful service and told them how happy we were with their service and the preparation of our food. The entire team consisted of: Crystal, Brittany, Shamarr, Julyus and Rodney. They all sung Happy Birthday to me before we left, adding that warm personal touch to our visit. We always receive excellent service and food at this location and it's one of the reasons we continue to patronize. Always excellent teamwork. The manager of this location should be very proud of his crew, because they are always treating their customers awesome. Awesome food and awesome service. It doesn't get any better than this. Let me start with, I love Firehouse subs! It is my go to sandwich shop. Get a #9 combo with BBQ chips and cherry limeade...usually hits the spot. Today I was over on this side of town and was very excited to be able to devour another great sandwich. Unfortunately that did not happen. Upon arrival, only 2 people were eating at the restaurant and 2 employees we outside smoking. Not a problem for me...everyone deserves a break. I say that with the expectation that certain things involved in the Firehouse experience to be handled before taking such a break. So here it is...there was no sweet tea and we were told that there wouldn't be any. Perhaps they were out. Next...no limes or lemons..."do you want me to cut some for you?" I was asked. That would be great! Next...no ice in machine, took 5 minutes of pressing and impressing the ice lever to fill 2 large cups. Finally, sandwiches arrive at room temperature with "hard" bread. I hope they can get their act together because they do not represent what Firehouse is all about in my opinion. read more
