My husband and I visited the Firehouse Subs location along Harbison Blvd,Columbia SC on Veterans Day,2025. As a veteran, my husband mentioned they were offering a BOGO (buy one, get one free) sub, and he thought it would be the perfect time for me to finally try it since he often goes there without me. We ordered the Steak and Cheese Sub around 12:45 PM. The restaurant was understandably busy because of the holiday, and we were prepared for a bit of a wait. However, after more than 50 min our order still hadn't come out. We noticed several people who arrived after us had already received their orders and left. At that point, I went to the counter and politely asked one of the ladies working the front, "Can you please check on our order? I just want to make sure it didn't get lost." Her response was, "Ma'am, we have a lot of orders!" I explained that we were in a hurry and would just like a refund instead. My husband went to the register, and a young man began processing the refund. My husband noticed the refund amount was $7 more than what we had paid, and he immediately told the cashier he didn't want to receive more than what was due. While the young man was trying to sort it out, the two women at the counter started mumbling to each other. One of them said she had called our order "a long time ago," insisting she called it several times. However, I can say with certainty that she only calls each name once, and she had called out "Casey"--which was not my husband's name. When I mentioned we had been waiting over an hour, the younger lady responded that she had been there since 10 a.m.--a comment that didn't seem relevant to the situation. We eventually got our refund, but the experience left us disappointed. It was difficult not to wonder why our order seemed overlooked, especially since we saw others come and go while we waited. As a mixed couple--I'm an Asian woman and my husband is white--I can't help but question whether that might have played a role. I truly hope that wasn't the case, but the lack of attentiveness and the defensive tone from the staff made the situation uncomfortable. We came in excited to support a restaurant that honors veterans, but we left feeling disheartened. I understand that Veterans Day can be a hectic day for restaurants, and mistakes can happen, but respect, communication, and fairness should never be compromised--especially on a day meant to honor those who served. I truly hope this was an isolated experience. Firehouse Subs has a reputation for quality food and community spirit, and I'd like to believe that with more care and attention to customer experience, this location can live up to that mission. read more

Disappointing Experience at Firehouse Subs Due to Poor Management! I recently had an unfortunate experience at Firehouse Subs that compelled me to leave this review. I was deeply disappointed by the poor management, specifically in regards to the behavior of the managers and staff outside the restaurant. Upon my visit, I noticed that some of the managers and staff were openly smoking weed outside the premises. This not only created an unprofessional atmosphere, but it also raised concerns about the quality of the food being prepared. The smell of marijuana was evident, and it was disheartening to think that employees may have been inebriated while handling customers' orders. Additionally, the service was slow and seemed to be negatively impacted by the aforementioned behavior. It took far too long to receive my food, and it became increasingly apparent that the issues with management were affecting the overall efficiency of the establishment. As a result of this experience, I must regrettably say that I will not be returning to Firehouse Subs. It is disheartening to witness such disregard for professionalism and customer satisfaction. Furthermore, I would strongly advise Firehouse Subs to address these management issues promptly. Creating a respectful and responsibly managed environment should be a priority to ensure the satisfaction and safety of both employees and customers.This has only gotten worse in the last couple Months! We've been waiting for a while now for our food. It's a little busy, but to pay $26.00 for two subs and not have it within ten minutes is a little ridiculous (usually it's this fast or faster). I specifically downloaded this app to leave this review. I was sitting in there waiting for my sandwich for 15 minutes which normally after seeing a big group before me, I would not question and would wait patiently however, during my wait some girls in the big group had a dairy allergy and needed their sandwich redone and seconds after asking tension rose in there you could feel it in the entire atmosphere. As a person who has worked in both fast food, restaurants, and barista, I find it shocking to display such frustration through slamming things talking negatively about the customer in front of them when they simply just asked for a redone sandwich after already explaining that it was a dairy allergy and previously explained before buying that they needed it without cheese. The negligence of not looking at the ticket and then taking that frustration out on the customer shocking to see as someone on the outside of the situation. I asked for a refund and left. read more

Employees will cheat you out if your order. I went to this location last month and ordered a medium sandwich and got home to see they clearly gave me a small. It was barely any meat on it and they gave me white instead of wheat bread. It was past closing time so I couldn't go back. I would normally check before leaving but since they are literally looking at your order on a piece of paper, I figured they'd get it right. I was wrong. It was in the evening. So it wasn't busy. I reached out to customer service weeks ago but no one responded. It's not right to pay almost $10 for that tiny sandwich. That'll be the last time I go there. Beware of this place. read more

This place needs to get it together. I put in an online order for pickup at 12:35pm on June 18th of 2022. I put the order in at 12:05. Thirty minutes to get three sandwiches done. I arrived in time and was told they were finishing it up. It was 12:37 at that time. They asked me ten minutes later what was wrong as I was still there with no order and I told them I was still waiting. We got our bag from the worker and he gave me someone else's order entirely! They didn't even have my order. The food was okay but it was subpar to the location closer to my home. I rarely leave bad reviews but this was an awful experience. The people were rude and had an attitude. Especially the cashier with the septum in her nose when I asked about my order. She rolled her eyes and didn't even try to be nice or kind. Will NEVER return to this location and I hope no one else does either! read more

My hubby and I are constantly hitting up the Firehouse in Lexington for a quick bite to eat. So when we were shopping in Irmo we stopped by this location. This location serves the same great subs that live up to the Firehouse name. When we came in the place was pretty packed at lunch time so be prepared for the line. They have tables outside for people to eat at because of the crowds. We were able to order and eat all within about 30 minutes. Thanks for another great sub! read more

Sheesh...so I ordered my food, 4 medium sandwiches and nothing more. I pulled up with 15 minutes remaining, BEFORE my requested time for pickup. I noticed a sign, placed by, Firehouse Subs, staying PARK HERE FOR CURBSIDE/ONLINE ORDERS. I waited an additional 15 minutes AFTER the pickup time, only to call in and have them tell me, my oder had been sitting there. I have my order remade, only to receive COLD FOOD, AND THE WRONG ORDER. Unfortunately, I can't comment on the food, since I refused to eat it. Normally, when folks order something "without" it could be because of a sever allergy. Once again there was barely any hot sauce, and on top of that they severely messed up my order. I wanted ham cheese and mustard and that's it. They put peppers onions tomatoes lettuce salt and pepper mayo and who knows what else. I'm allergic to onions so my whole night just got messed up . Going to jimmy johns from now on. read more

This is my favorite Firehouse Subs location. The other ones nearby don't compare. The manager here, I think his name is Mark, does an excellent job of keeping this place running smoothly and keeping the atmosphere positive towards the customer. Managers like Mark are extremely rare these days, and he should be valued greatly. If you are the owner and are reading this review, congratulations, you have the best firehouse location in the Columbia area. It is my opinion that this is largely due to Mark's great attitude and management ability. read more

Really like this location of Firehouse because the staff is really friendly. Even after you receive your order the manager takes time to make sure if everything is satisfactory. The Italian sub is one of my favorites with the spices they put on it. Great price for what you receive. read more

Staff was pleasant. Food was good for what is expected. It was very quick to come. The Italian sand which you can never go wrong with.

Had the Turkey Salsa Verde and kings Hawaiian pulled pork slaw sandwich and they were excellent. Staff was very friendly.
