Stopped in for a quick bite and was genuinely impressed. The counter service was excellent, friendly, efficient, and welcoming. I ordered the 3-piece Spicy Fish with fries, and it was absolutely delicious. The fish was perfectly cooked with just the right amount of heat, and the fries were crisp and satisfying. So I've tried about 5 locations on drive through in SC and GA, 4/5 are fails. I don't understand what the problem with drive through service is.. it's a pretty simple concept. One pulls up, the order taker realizes or hears a tone, they push a button, they ask for your order. Once again I sat in the drive then pulling up and backing up trying to figure out if my wheel positioning was the problem for a solid 10 minutes... someone finally comes out the back door to dump trash and after asking twice he finally tells me to pull to the window, where I wait another 10 minute while they mop the floors of an empty restaurant... Captain d's i love your food, you would get 8x my business regionally a month, if you could fix your drive through problems... it's infuriating... particularly if there are 4 drive through a within a block that would be far more organized..... fix your drive throughs to accept all vehicles... pickup trucks are NOT UNCOMMON.... Wake UP!!!!!!!!! read more

The 2 piece fish meal is a great value. The drink isnt included but you get hush puppies and a side and condiments. The drive thru is generally pretty quick. The macaroni and cheese is hit or miss but the fish is really good read more

Pretty good food. The only fender bender we ran into was a mix up in the order with the cashier/ server. But it didn't matter in the end because they easily fixed it and worked on it while I ate the correct order. We got our difference back in a snap. read more

I don't typically bother with chain stores and franchises (as they're all generally pretty similar), but as mobile applications (such as Yelp for Android/iPhone) increase in popularity, I thought I would fill in the few I saw missing for those users in search of nearby locations. This is probably some of the most prompt and competent service I've received in some time. And the food was brought to me as soon as it was ready (which was just a brief wait, giving me time to prepare my drink, get sauces, etc), and piping hot. Better get here early, though! Food was great, restaurant was clean, and didn't have to wait in line. The reason behind the three stars is because they were completely out of tartar sauce when we dined in. That is really unfortunate considering this place is known for their fried fish and a lot of people eat fish with tartar sauce. This place has quickly become my go-to fast food seafood restaurant in Columbia. Being from Chicago I can only compare this to Long John Silver, but a thousand times better. This is seriously the best fast, seafood you can get anywhere. It's actually pretty similar to what you'd receive in a standard sit-down restaurant. Also, let me just add that they sell their sweet tea by the gallon and it is hands down the BEST sweet tea I've had anywhere. In terms of food you really are good with choosing anything. I like their batter dipped fish, shrimp, hush puppies, okra, mac n cheese... everything is good. You can sit down if you like inside, but I prefer to get my food to go. The service is friendly and fast. No complaints! If you're in the mood for seafood give this place a try... again, I can only vouch for this location. read more

I was extremely impressed with the customer service of this location! Smiles everywhere! We came in on the 4th of July, very thankful to finally find something that was open. We were greeted in the front by a very welcoming man who was mopping the lobby but was very friendly to us and stopped what he was doing to chat with us. When we got up to the counter to order we were welcomed by more smiling and friendly staff. They were also very patient while we looked over the menu board. The food was great! I got fried fish and shrimp with double fried okra. When we sat down a young man that worked there came to our table asking of someone else had left there phone at the counter. It was my Note 4! Silly of me! I was so thankful! Back home in FL, it would had been sold twice already! Later on we were checked on again to make sure everything was ok. We live right behind the location on Garner's Ferry Rd. They treat you like they don't care if you're there or not. So we tried this location yesterday and wow, what a difference.
