Staff was polite and efficient. Ordered the "hook and ladder". Enjoyed the flavor, and ample portion. I like that the chain donates to public safety organizations too.

    Sweet and Spicy Meatball

First ever visit at this location and the first of any Firehouse in many years. Came here for a late lunch with my husband. I got a medium Sweet and Spicy Meatball and it was perfection! Burned my lip a bit because I couldn't wait to dig in. Ha! I definitely look forward to enjoying this again. Also - everyone was truly friendly and service was super fast.

This is what is "acceptable" to deliver from firehouse subs through Postmates...soggy bread with finger prints in it and bad lettuce.

Seriously Firehouse subs, whose making your postmate subs for delivery? Chimpanzees? This is absolutely disgusting. 22 minutes for delivery was completely fine by me but broken and ripped soggy bread with lettuce that had already g bad on it...very disappointed. I want my money back.

I should've followed my instincts and went by what the reviews said, this whole experience was trash . The customer service could've been better , lady at the register seemed like she didn't even want to be there and got my order wrong . Fine , that's not even my issue . Let's talk about the dry ass sandwich which I was given . Just Terrible

Among numerous other problems with our order, my daughter's brownie was literally rock hard. She tried to bite it and got hurt.

My family are big fans of Firehouse Subs. Unfortunately, this location has got to be one of the worst if not the worst Firehouse Subs we've ever been to. We came on Tuesday night, and had some problems with the food that we took home. I tried calling on the phone a few times and never got an answer. Today I went in and tried to talk to the owner or manager, not sure which one he is. He refused to talk to me. Although it's not my first time being here, this is my first check in to this place on Yelp and it will definitely be my last. If you want to have Firehouse Subs, go to the one on Indian River Rd. they understand customer service.

Want a great sandwich? This is where you can get one. I've had a hit and miss experience with FH Subs at another location and had pretty much written them off because of it. However a friend convinced me to give them one more try and I picked this location as it was close to work. The Sandwich? I had the one called 'The Steamer'. Yes I know, with a name like that there's some serious potential for a dirty joke here.... :) All that aside, this was an excellent sandwich. It comes with Corned Beef Brisket and Pastrami with melted Provolone. Then Mayo, Mustard and Italian Dressing on your choice of Wheat or White bread. This sandwich is the bomb! The staff was excellent and the restaurant was impeccably clean. Kudo's to FH for an excellent experience and I'll definitely return.

    Hot sauce anyone?

Very slow service, and quiet pricey for how much you are actually given. One person working the register, and making sandwiches at 115pm on a weekday? Spending $18 for just 2 subs? $18 can get you MUCH MORE food for your money than in here.

This was a Great place to grab a Sub today! Wonderful customer service, very clean, and fresh food. I read in a previous comment there were flies and nasty stuff by the meat. I didn't observe this area so I can't comment in reference to that. I did notice a gentlemen cleaning the entire time my family and I were there (walls, baseboards, sweeping,etc.). The only thing I didn't like is he began sweeping near me while I was eating (he moved quickly though). I loved my free birthday Sub I had to download the app to utilize the promotion for the free sub, but it was quick and easy! They also had a sign on the door hiring so maybe more good changes are to come. My son also said please add just jalapeño chips because he didn't like/want jalapeño cheddar GREAT FOOD though

We easily found a nice table outside and ordered quickly - my husband chose a Chicken Slider, I had the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich and we ordered my baby girl a kid's meal of grilled cheese. I was impressed with the size of her kid's meal - it came with a decent-sized sandwich, huge portion of fries, a small kid's soda and a small custard. It was actually a pretty significant portion and my husband loved helping her finish it. Ha. I really enjoyed my husband's slider and the salads on the menu looked delish. My Nashville hot chicken sandwich was good, but a bit too hot for me, I did think the chicken was delicious. Hubs and I were both impressed with the quality and will happily come back again next time we're on this side of town. Used the restroom to change my daughter and they have a diaper changing station in the bathroom (a must for me now).

Chesapeake's…read morelittle town center area has really stepped their game up and there are several good options for food and this is one of them. Parking is plentiful as it's in a strip mall, and we were able to self seat a party of 7 with no problem at all on a Saturday evening. The service was doing their best, but they definitely could use one or two more employees because the person making all the desserts (and there was a line JUST for take out dessert orders- because it's that good) was also the same one that needed to take our orders before we could sit down. I felt bad for her because she was working really hard on two very busy stations. The ambience is super casual so no need to dress up. So now lests get to the star of the show. This is the best chicken sandwich out and I'll put it up against anyone I've had anywhere. Well seasoned, tender, perfectly fried. The buns were potato bread so super soft, the sauces are fantastic and the variety of sandwiches is just enough to have a good amount of options. The fries are also delicious. À la carte so they are sold separately, but the portion makes it worth it because THEY ARE NOT STINGY! Flavor packed and great value for the cost. Last but not least the homemade custard is TOP TIER. Best I've had since i left Jersey back in the day. This place just took the top spot for chicken sandwiches for me and i can't eat to try more flavors.

The subs are always fresh and delicious. I generally order the #8 Club Sub or the #13 The Original Italian. Ordering online is quick and easy. My orders are always prepared correctly and ready in a timely manner. Staff is friendly and helpful, most everyone seems to enjoy their jobs. It's in the same group of buildings such as Michael's (around the corner). My visit here was on October 27, 2025. The outside view of the business is simple, but effective. They have a specials chalkboard next to the entrance. Parking wasn't an issue on this visit, but I'm sure it can fill up at busier times. My mom and I were both in the area as she wanted to go to the Michael's store here. When we came inside, it wasn't busy, as it was around 3:30 pm when we got here. We were greeted by the one who would be our server for this visit. He gave us menus to look at and asked us for our drink orders. I generally stick with water with lemon, which I did here. We were there during the time where it was still the lunch menu (though for us, it was more like dinner for us that day). When he came back with the drinks, he asked if we were ready to order, but we weren't just yet. He also asked if we had any questions about the menu and options and gave us more time to mull over the menu. When he came back, we weren't completely ready, but asked a question about the specials of the day. After that, we knew what we would get and placed our food order. My mom ordered the Meatloaf Lunch Special with mashed potatoes and spinach. I went with the Meatball Sub Lunch Special with mashed potatoes, though I don't normally do potatoes that often. After about ten minutes or so, the food came to the table. The food looked really good, and it was hot too. The bread for the Meatball Sub was very soft and easy to eat. The meatballs were huge and made for a worthy meal. The mashed potatoes with gravy was really good and fulfilling too. My mom loved the meatloaf, and their meatloaf doesn't have ketchup on it like some other places do. She loved the meatloaf, spinach, and mashed potatoes too. After we were done, he asked if we wanted any desserts. We both declined as I normally don't do them anymore. Overall, we both had an excellent experience here. The food and service were on point. The food I had that day did spike my blood sugars, but I expected that with bread and mashed potatoes. I don't make a habit of that though. They are a great local business. There are lots of food options to choose from. If you are looking for a place to eat while in this part of Chesapeake, this place is worth coming to.
