I've always wanted to try this place since I've been told that this is the Wingstop of the Bay Area.It was pretty good for its price, but not amazing. Just like any other wing joint, you can choose X amount of flavors based on the amount of chicken wings you order. We got the korean kick, mango habanero, lemon pepper, dragon, and buffalo. They had a variety of sauces to choose from, we got the classic buffalo and dry rub malaysian curry. Boneless wings were huge chunky pieces of overcooked chicken. The texture was chewy and rubbery and had to discard pieces as they were inedible. Garlic noodles were plain noodles tossed in everlasting garlic taste. The fries here are great, nice crisp outside and fluffy inside. The garlic noodles are pretty good too. This place has a couple of tv's usually playing sports, and it can get packed depending on the occasion. They also have beer if you want to drink. Solid place to get wings. To be honest, I was never a huge fan of Wing Stop or BWW or wing spots in general because they're usually so greasy and I just feel so guilty eating it. But you guys, I think I've found my spot! Fire Wings is so good and a game changer because I really appreciate that it's not as oily as the other spots. They have 21 flavors I believe. They have Classic, Dry Rubs and Fusion. I don't really like saucy wings except for San Tung's so we opted for Dry Rubs. We ordered: 20 Wing Combo $25.29 - This comes with 3 flavors of wings, 2 dips, large fries and veggie sticks. We tried the Garlic Parmesan (my fave!), Cali Rub and the Jamaican Jerk. All were really good and not too oily. They do have oil on the paper tray but I don't feel so guilty after eating it! You can choose bone-in or boneless. Garlic Parmesan is your normal garlic parmesan flavored wings but it had the perfect amount of garlic and parmesan cheese! So good. Would def order this again as it was my favorite of the 3. Cali Rub was my second favorite. Smokey and sweet is their description and smokey and slightly sweet rub is what you get. It was goood and none of these wings even required me to want to dip them in the sauces they come with. Jamaican Jerk was good but it was my least favorite out of the 3. It has a kind of curry/five spice taste to it that I wasn't expecting. It was good, but I'll probably try another dry rub since I don't really care for curry seasoning flavor on my wings but they were good! This place is crowded with a novelty wing flavor menu, but pretty decent. Nothing especially stands out regarding a favorite flavor/side, but all in all quite satisfying. The wings aren't as meaty as some other places (bon chon next door), but the variety of flavors available definitely makes the wings more special. Our go to flavors are the dragon (San Tung imitation), lemon pepper, and original buffalo. We tried both the Thai flavor and the Saigon street which seemed alright, but wouldn't reorder. (Saigon street seems like their take on Portland's PokPok Vietnamese wings). I especially like their garlic noodles. Good flavor and portions. There are enough seats (both tables and high bars) so you can for sure take a seat and enjoy your food. I think there should have been a better game-plan for a place that expects to be busy on Super Bowl day. Ordering here is pretty simple - wait in line, get a number, find a table and wait for them to bring you your food! We (2 people) ended up ordering to 20 piece family pack, and chose lemon pepper, Malaysian curry, and mango habanero as our 3 flavors, with ranch and sweet chili as our dips. All 3 of these flavors were really good! The mango habanero was sweet and was surprisingly pretty spicy. The lemon pepper was a little too buttery for my taste and not as lemon-y as I liked, but it was still good. The Malaysian curry wings exceeded my expectations - this was my favorite of the 3, you could really taste the curry flavor. The wings here are also decently sized as well! I'll definitely come back and try their other flavors and their garlic noodles! On another note, parking in this area is pretty easy! The wings (WANGZ) here are yummy! I don't understand why people are giving it 3 stars and below. The wings are served piping hot, the got like 20+ different flavors and some pretty good lunch deals. One Mondays and Wednesday's, their wings are $0.60 each! That's cheap for Bay Area. I got the mango habanero because I like sweet and spicy. I was glad that it wasn't so spicy because I can taste the mango. I also got the lemon pepper and the skin was so crispy! It also came with carrot sticks and celery. We got the dragon and lemon pepper. Dragon is a new family favorite. My little one also wanted to try the garlic noodles. She is a definite fan. Second time I tried the Saigon Street and Salt and Pepper. They were just okay to me. The Salt and Pepper was lacking something that I can't quite pinpoint. Third time, we went with a large group of friends and had many different flavors on the table. This time around we were able to try the garlic parmesan, peanut butter, Korean kick, and Malaysian curry. I think I've found my new favorite PEANUT BUTTER!!!! Sounds weird but it's SO good. If I'm Bonchon (a few doors down) I'm nervous right now about the future. Yes Bonchon has the name reputation to go by in the area, but now you got a new wing competitor so close by. Let me start with the Dragon flavored wings since I brought up Bonchon. They have 7 Asian flavor wings versus Bonchon's two asian flavors. The exterior on the Dragon and I would guess a few other of the Asian flavors have a similar exterior as BonChon Korean fried chicken. These had a nice crispy exterior, slightly sweet, with a very small kick. The inside was very juicy and the wing size were pretty comparable to Bonchon. If theres 21 flavors at one and taste similar, I don't see the point going to the other. Buffalo Stampede - I wanted to try a pretty standard buffalo sauce flavor to get a good judge of this place. Buffalo stampede is suppose to be like an original buffalo, only slightly spicer. The exterior was more traditional than the dragon. The flavor itself was pretty average and expected a little more heat on this version. While they were evenly coated and had the flavor all over, it could have used a little more sauce. I ended up asking for more of it just to make sure they were coated well since it had a slighty dry exterior, but that made it slighty crispy on the outside while still juicy inside. Seasoned fries looked damn good, like some of the better looking fries ive seen in awhile, unfortunately the taste was just about average. Something often overlooked, the sodas. They have the newer fancy fountain machines, but that isn't what is important here. They don't skimp on the syrup, at least not for the Dr. Pepper that I was drinking. It reminded me of the old McDonalds soda fountains that had the best soda of any fast food chain. While McD's may still be the best for sodas for fast food chains with their syrup to soda ratio, I don't think they are as good as they use to be. This makes me more likely to go for the combo instead of just getting water which I often do a lot of the time. I've been wanting a good wing place on the peninsula for awhile now. Before Fire Wings, all we had is wing stop which is just ok/good, but often inconsistent. Bonchon added a twist to wings in the area offering a different flavor option, but nothing in the area made me ever go out for wings and often became a appetizer option at a restaurant since there wasn't a true go to place for them. I'm hoping my next visit and the ones after are similar to my first, if they are, I'm sure I will be going here often. Then head over to Fire Wings because they offer a Monday + Tuesday special where you can get 60 cent boneless chicken from more than twenty different flavors! I came here on a Friday afternoon, and this place was poppin'. It has such an upbeat atmosphere with music playing and lots of TVs. People are constantly coming in, but lines move pretty fast and there's ample seating. The cashier who greeted me was very friendly and enthusiastic. We ordered a 20 piece family pack (3 flavors; comes with large fries, 2 dips, and celery + carrots), 10 boneless wings (2 flavors), and garlic noodles. Our food took a while to prepare since we ordered a lot, but I noticed other people's food came out in a timely manner. Dry Rub & Fusion Wings (5/5): We ordered a mix of boneless and bone-in wings with 5 flavors: Salt & Pepper, Louisiana Rub, Thai Chili, Saigon Street, and Korean Kick. My favorite dry rub was the Salt & Pepper. Though it sounds simple, it has the right level of saltiness, and I just find the taste addicting. The Thai Chili was my favorite fusion flavor. It's sweet and spicy and leaves a bit of heat in your mouth after each bite. Seasoned Fries (5/5): Some of the BEST fries I've ever had! The seasoning reminded me of a cajun seasoning but wasn't too spicy, and the fries were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Garlic Noodles (4/5): I'm a huge fan of garlic noodles, and their noodles did not disappoint. Their regular portion was huge, and there was so much garlic flavor! I would definitely come back here again to try the rest of their flavors, but I hope they open up a location in the South Bay soon.
