Little gem near my work. This is my boss's favorite spot so I had to try it out. Their terriyaki chicken was nicely cooked & California roll tasted was well-balanced combination of flavors and textures. Not too dry or mushy. The lady was friendly and they have tables and chairs.

Transparent or clarified pricing when ordering online or via phone. Quality of food vs price is also skewed.

TLDR: rude service and doesn't wash hands, terrible food I came here for lunch. The staff owner is not friendly. She is rude: she doesn't get the order correct and then comes up to me tells me I didn't charge your for chips. I said. Ok and reach for my credit card. She asked do you have cash??! I said: no I never made a scene so I let it slide. Then I see she goes out to throw out the trash and she returns and I ask her for a box. For the rest of my food. She says I'll wrap it. She then proceeded to touch my food. A sandwich with her dirty hands. She never washed her hands. I will never return for terrible service and unhealthy habits that clearly violate health and safe safety food handling. Stay away. The food is also not good.

Perfect location walking distance from the airport hotels, especially if you're looking for a late lunch when other restaurants are closed! The food is delicious and the older couple running it are so lovely. Great mix of (authentic) Asian cuisine and American favorites. Pro tip: walk along the water when coming to/from your hotel to enjoy spectacular views.

Amazing find! Staying across the street for an early morning flight and happened upon this little gem. Between the four of us we had a western burger, fries, chicken donburi, ton-katsu donburi and a bento with teriyaki chicken and gyoza. Everything was delicious and generous portions! The burger was well seasoned and the fries perfectly crispy. I tried a bit of all of the other items and the donburi sauce is outstanding. Appreciate the very polite service and cleanliness of the dining room. Would 11/10 come back again! (We joked that when we fly back into SFO in 3 weeks that we should stop in again for dinner before we start our drive home to the valley! I was not joking...yum!)

Great place with high quality food! Definitely great customer service and will be coming more often. The salmon Teriyaki bento box is by far my favorite one around. I'm usually careful but this place is on the money!

Been working in this area for over three years and never even noticed Bullshead Express till now. Going in, I was expecting burgers, but that only took up a small portion of their menu. Their menu also includes: Sandwiches, salad, noodles, bento boxes, sushi rolls and more. I was a little shocked at what my total came out to be. My boyfriend and I ordered a Chirashi bowl, seafood Udon, two hot teas and it totaled up to $67 excluding tips. It was pricey, but the portions were huge and it was very delicious. So much umami in my seafood udon, which had mussels, scallops, salmon, hamachi, shrimp, tai, bak choy, spinach and onions. The Chirashi had three large pieces of salmon, hamachi, tuna, tai, seared tuna, a mixture of sashimi in poke form and a spicy imitation crab wrapped in a cucumber on top of sushi rice. We got more than what the menu said it would have. Although a little shocked when paying, I personally think that the pricing was reasonable for the items that I ordered because seafood is expensive and the owners did not skimp on the ingredients. I didn't order, but I did look at the three item bento boxes and the pricing for that was quite steep. The base price is $23.95, which really only comes with chicken teriyaki, gyoza, California rolls, or avocado rolls because anything else is an additional $1-2. If you want a repeat of one item, it's an additional $2-$5. Pricey....however, I do love supporting local businesses and the food was prepared with care by a lovely couple. I enjoyed all the items that were ordered during my visit.

Did a bento box. The food was ok, not the best value. I'd rate it a 3.5. The tuna sashimi was kind of bland, so not the best cut. The teriyaki chicken seemed to be a pre cooked piece heated up with teriyaki sauce. Rubbery is the best word. Burgers looked good, will try those next time. As for sushi there are better deals nearby.

Not only am I allergic to my own cultural food, but I'm allergic to MSG which is always in soy sauce unless the location uses tamari. I heard about this place on Instagram and I was so excited and thrilled to see I could order slices of individual sushi pieces and make up my own personal bento box. I was thrilled!! My Foodie Friend and I had to drive 40 minutes away to come visit this enchanting shop and we were so excited!! This particular day it was freezing cold over there so we didn't order any drinks, but they looked delicious! Both servers were very patient as I asked 9 million questions since I couldn't have any of the sushi rolls that had soy sauce in them, and the Chef even came out to double check a couple items! Everything was delicious and had such great flavor and freshness!! Ambience was very cute and quaint like you were in a side street of Japan and all the tables were actually filled outside so we were lucky to get a seat inside since we were freezing cold!! I will definitely come back here again and again!! I want to try one of their strawberry cream, cheese sandwiches! And definitely their Matcha!!

The private booths are intimate, the lighting is dimmed, music is bopping (not to age myself, but it was bops from my high school years) Fitting, as I was getting dinner with my best HS friend! I love how you take off your shoes to get in the booths! So cute and fun. There were some families there and the kids were given coloring pages. Coming from SF, this is how you know you're in the suburbs. The skewers were delicious. A group of 4, we ordered 4 of each. We tried steak, chicken, takoyaki, fries (which were pretty much takoyaki fries), bacon-wrapped mochi, bacon enoki mushroom, unagi, fried chicken skin, Uzura Tamago (Quail Eggs), and more! Everything was good and flavorful. However, it ended up being over ~$70/person, so not cheap. I will say service was lacking. They didn't bring us the bill for over 20 minutes. We came to Mokutanya for a casual night out. It was pretty late for a sushi spot to be open on a Sunday night (around 8:30 pm), and overall, it hit the spot. The menu has a lot of variety, and it's definitely a good place to share dishes with friends or a group. FOOD: 8/10 The skewers were the highlight for me and, I believe, one of their specialties. They were well-seasoned, nicely grilled, and served hot off the grill. I also enjoyed trying a variety of small plates, which made the meal feel fun and interactive. Some dishes were better than others, but overall it was a solid experience with good flavor and variety. We ordered their Raw Oysters, and it was decent. It definitely was not the freshest we've ever tried, but it was still good, thankfully. SERVICE: 8/10 Service was standard, but the staff was chill and easygoing. AMBIANCE: 8/10 The restaurant has a warm, lively, and slightly upscale-casual feel, great for groups or a casual night out. You can experience zashiki seating, where you take off your shoes before entering the dining area and sit down at low tables. The lighting was pretty dark, lol. Overall, it's a solid late-night option if you're in the mood for skewers, small plates, and a relaxed group dining experience.

Fast forward, it's Mom's Day, kids having meals on their own as parents, our celebration is to go somewhere good to have a meal, no lines (didn't make a res), kinda spontaneous. Hanabi fits the bill. Ordered the pork belly ramen ( looked really good at a neighboring table) and the Mayu-ramen, spicy, with kfc chicken (not what you think, means something else), both with a miso base. Wait was reasonable, time to get a table was 30 seconds tops. Other nights it's been jammed but not Mom's Day, just quiet, enjoyable. Both meals were spectacularly reasonable, serving what you'd want, with enough of everything to want to dive in because you were pretty assured you were going to be satisfied. Not fru-fru or bougie, ingredients that make the dish memorable yet feel you are knowledgeable and appreciated. Pork belly was soft, fatty yet lean, cooked well enough to be tender, yet with a little chew (not disintegrating like some bellies), lots of noodles al dente so you appreciate the noodle was not a mushy mass in the bowl like some places. The Mayu came with 3 drumsticks burning hot from the fryer but oh so good because it's served in a separate dish so it doesn't get soggy. The spicy is good enough to keep things interesting with losing its identity (unlike a lot of places). And they give plenty of ramen because it's that good. We keep coming back because they serve no-frills, you-can-bank-on-it ramen that is satisfying, consistent; staff is friendly without being overbearing. It's not a big place, tables and a counter, but they know how to keep diners happy and coming back for more. What more can you ask for? Thanks, Hanabi, will definitely be back!
