We came here for the happy hour between 4 and 6 PM and we absolutely enjoyed every single dish that we ordered and the margaritas were amazing and the Thai iced tea was phenomenal

Greetings to all , well lm back to the Coconut Bay. It has been a while since my last visit, but I see that things have remained the same, still very dimly lit in the whole restaurant but visually comforting; street parking only. The service was great as usual, although I must say that the wait staff are on point with their menu and will politely repeat your request after taking everyone's order. We had many different Tasty dishes, l will only give pix of some of them in this review. All of our dishes were very Tasty and I will continue to come back and try get everything in the menu. Once again Coconut Bay, Nice job and keep up the good (Cooking- Work ) .

We arrived around 4pm on a Sunday and were seated right away, which was a nice start. Place is decent, can accommodate a large group if needed. The Thai iced tea was just okay--not much flavor, and it came in a surprisingly small glass (pic looks big) I finished it in about four sips. We ordered the Angel Wings, which were decent but nothing memorable. The eggplant basil and panang curry were passable, but we've definitely had better versions elsewhere. The biggest letdown was the American fried rice--it tasted like old rice mixed with vinegar. Unfortunately, no one at our table could eat it. The garlic quail was quite chewy, making it difficult to enjoy. In the end, the egg rolls turned out to be the only thing we actually enjoyed for dinner.

Been here before, actually remember to take photos this time around. Big party of 12 on a Sunday afternoon, service was fast, waiters/waitresses were attentive, and the food was great. The interior is very clean and updated, great ambiance while eating. My favorite is their roti with curry sauce, panang curry and thai iced tea! I wish their portions were a little bigger but the amount of flavor in each dish makes up for it. Highly recommend anyone trying this restaurant if in the area!

We were famished when we arrived at Coconut Bay. It was one of the only open restaurants for Thai food at 3PM. We were doing a late lunch after arriving from the airport, we were very grateful that they stay open in the afternoons! We ordered an appetizer platter that allowed us to taste eggrolls, roti, chicken satay and crab rangoons, this felt like a good deal for the amount of food and variety. We really liked the roti and chicken satay! We ordered drunkard noodles (pad kee mao adjacent), highway noodles(similiar to pad see ew) and pad Thai. The portions are large and tasted great! It really hit the spot and filled us up. I wish the drunkard noodles was a bit spicier. Service was quick and they have plenty of seating inside!

Get medium spicy, spicy is too spicy. Pineapple fried rice was great and ambience was also decent.

Decided to give this a try on a Monday night. It wasn't that busy compared to other restaurants in the area. The first thing I've noticed is how the menu items have different names here. It threw me off a little because I had to reference yelp to see what the dish actually is. I ended up getting the papaya salad, veggie pad see ew and pork fried rice. Everything was excellent flavor. Service was good especially since the waiters came by to check on us frequently and refill our waters. One star off for the extremely sticky floors. There might have been a spill but it was very very sticky!

The Thai food is absolutely flavorful here! We ordered string beans, pad Thai ( the noodles are thinner than usual), the fried fish with string beans and chicken basil (I thought it would be minced but that's ok!) Also ordered steamed rice and it came in this cute container! Also, I must say I like the entrance with flowers and neon sign and LOVW how they appreciate Art! Loved looking at the artworks, makes this place a gem!

    Panang Curry
    Lauren T.

The panang curry wasn't the best I've ever had. It came with a mild to medium spice, though I wish they had asked how spicy I wanted it. I chose the panang because it came with a nice variety of vegetables, which was a plus. Service was decent, but inside the restaurant was a bit uncomfortable. It was over 80 degrees outside and the air conditioning wasn't on inside. Making sure your patrons are comfortable would really go a long way.

Great Thai spot not far from SFO airport. Came on a Sunday evening for dinner when it wasn't too busy and were seated promptly. To drink we got a Thai Iced Tea which was great. For food we shared the Spicy Angel Wings, Mint Leaf Surprise, Legendary Pad Thai, and Yellow Curry. My favorite was the Spicy Angel Wings but a close second would be the Mint Leaf Surprise. The flavor on was delicious. The pad thai and curry were both great as well. Great last meal in SF!

My family has been coming here for our holiday dinner for the past few years, and it never disappoints. This year, we ordered a variety of dishes, from classic Pad Thai to flavorful roti, and everything we tried was delicious. Throughout the meal, I sipped on a perfectly sweet and refreshing Thai iced tea, which complemented the savory dishes beautifully. For dessert, I had the Thai tea ice cream--it was creamy, rich, and the perfect way to end the evening. The consistently delicious food, cozy atmosphere, and attentive service make this place a holiday tradition we always look forward to.

I recently ordered beef Pad See Ew from this place, and it was really good! The flavors were perfectly balanced and the noodles were cooked perfectly. The vegetables were crisp and not overcooked and the portions were generous. I was able to take the other half home for another meal! My only negative comment is that I wish the beer was more tender. I'll probably get chicken next time. Also if you ask for a spicier version they just add crushed flakes on it. Can't wait to come back and try the chicken version!

Coconut Bay is the closest Thai restaurant to my place so we decided to give it a try. Friendly, professional service and upscale ambience. Plating was beautiful. The food itself was just ok. I ordered the equivalent of pad see ew (some of their dishes have creative names) and it was missing the flavorful wok hei of stir fried dishes. Still, the meat was quality and there was plenty of broccoli in the mix. We wanted order panang curry for our second dish but they were out for the day. Instead we ordered a lamb curry. The curry sauce itself was quite delicious, as was the accompanying paratha. The lamb was tender but didn't appear to have been cooked in the sauce, only added later. Lots of potatoes but scant carrots. Price point seemed on par with a nice dining establishment. I won't be in a rush to return.

At first, I thought it leaned more toward a fusion American style, but after trying a few dishes, I'd say it's not 100% authentic, yet still pretty close. The pork soup XLB was really tasty, you can tell the meat is high quality with no "porky" taste, and the broth is light with a subtle sweetness. The popcorn chicken was a bit bland, but very meaty with a thin, crispy coating, which I liked. The pan-fried buns were juicy, with a nicely cooked, crispy bottom. The braised beef was a bit too soft for my liking and lacked texture. The braised beef noodle soup was decent, the beef pieces were a good size but slightly dry, while the noodles were chewy and well-cooked, though they felt more like spaghetti than traditional noodles. Service really stood out, our server was attentive and welcoming throughout the meal. Also appreciated that they still let us try the seafood dumplings even though they were accidentally cooked incorrectly. Overall, generous portions for the price and excellent service. :)

The sliders appetizer was easily the standout and absolutely spot-on (5/5). The butter chicken, however, was underwhelming (3/5) and came with an unpleasant surprise, a hidden piece of red pepper in one of the sides that caused an intense burn. The beef with bone marrow was tasty, but the dish felt misleading since the bone marrow heavily overshadowed the actual beef portion, making it feel more like a bone marrow dish than the beef entrée that was advertised (3/5). The raita was the biggest miss, bland overall, overly salty, and paired with large cucumber pieces that didn't work well (2/5). Service was polite and respectful, but inconsistent at times, with long stretches where no one checked on our table and empty glasses went unnoticed (3.5/5). The atmosphere was definitely a highlight and deserves a solid 4/5. Overall, some flavors were interesting and creative for a first visit, but the experience didn't live up to the Michelin hype or the pricing. I'm glad I tried it once, but I wouldn't rush back.
