Really great spot! The sushi rolls are super fresh and flavorful, and the ramen is delicious with a really rich, savory broth. The service is friendly and fast too. Definitely a solid go-to for sushi and ramen craving!
We made a reservation online on Veterans' Day, but we got there when they opened and there was ample seating. Because we were the only guests in the restaurant for about 10 minutes, the service was just a bit over-the-top. The hostess/waitress checked in with us frequently, so we felt like we had to order quickly even after asking to give us just a bit more time. We ordered three rolls, and I wish for the life of me I could remember which ones. They were prepared quickly, and we had our food in under 15 minutes. Again, we were the only ones in the restaurant for a few minutes, so this gave the chef time to prepare everything. This may not be the case mid-day or early evening. Overall, the rolls were okay and the experience was okay. The best part of the meal was the shrimp tempura! Crispy, fresh, and perfect. I can't say I'd go out of my way to come here, but local folks should give them a try.
Great sushi spot in downtown Burlingame! Yesterday was my first time and though my friend orders takeout from Fuumi, she hadn't dined in until last night. I got the warrior roll and she had the cucumber salad and nigiri. The roll was tasty and filling! Menu uses a QR code or you can just access the menu by going on their website. Service was friendly and fast. They split our checks without one of us asking, which was appreciated. Restaurant was quiet and not crowded. I parked in the back lot but street parking is also availability. Only downside is that the prices are a little high, but that's on par with the area. My friend lives within walking distance and hopes to be a regular. Unfortunately I live out of state so it will be a long time before my next visit. But I hope to return next time I'm in Cali!

Visited this restaurant during lunch hours. It is a Nice restaurant with a beautiful ambiance on the inside. I got the ramen and it was delicious. The waitstaff is friendly. I would recommend.
Pretty solid sushi spot. I came with my friends for dinner after Pickleball, at around eight. This place was fairly empty but parking was still not that easy. If you're lucky, you can find street parking. We found a lot down a couple of blocks. All the items were pretty good - Very balanced flavors that are not overpowering, which I like in sushi because I like to be able to taste the quality of the fish. We ordered a couple of appetizers and several sushi rolls. My favorite sushi roll, I can't remember the name of it, but it's the one with the fried pieces on top. Service was great - super nice and well attentive. Interior was great. Well decorated with Japanese styled pieces. They also have two TVs on playing some random baking and cooking videos.
Great sushi and service. My son say's Goooooooooood fish!!!! I come here all the time for lunch on the weekends with my two boys who always like to try new dishes.
Dropped by this spot in the now-trendy Broadway Burlingame scene. The tuna was fresh enough to still have its swimming license, while the unagi was a little on the sweeter side. Spider roll pulled a Michael Bay - a bit too much action in the fryer. But my friend's udon and chashu ramen stole the show. Caught myself eyeing their bowls through the night. Attentive service and always a smile made dinner really pleasant. Burlingame's Broadway has really grown up from its dark deserted days. Plenty of options to dine that have upped the environment
We have arrived on a Thursday night. The place was fairly busy, and just after we got a table the next customer asked to wait for a table. We have ordered shrimp tempura for starter, but it did take a little bit to get ready. For entries we ordered Udon and Bento, and for some reason, the bento box takes a long time to get ready. The bento box was delicious, but the other ones not so much. The tempura was too oily and the Udon was very tasteless. Very mixed feelings. The inside sitting is very nice. It is possible that they were busy and that's why the preparation time was long. Overall, I think we will go there again but may be for sushi rolls next time. The

The menu (QR code only) is pretty run-of-the-mill, with things like rolls, bentos, ramen, etc. I opted for the chirashi which was $30. The food took longer than I expected to come out, and when it did, I noticed a small fly in my rice. I immediately told them (did not eat any of my food) and had to wait an additional 10min for a new bowl to come out. I was a bit surprised that I wasn't offered anything extra since I did wait twice while my friend began eating. The portion was pretty small, and the fish was pretty average. It did come with miso soup which was nice! Overall, a very average spot for your occasional Japanese fix.
I got a Chirashi bowl here and it was one of the best ones I've had in terms of content. I did not expect fancy stuff like ikura and scallop in there, which was a pleasant surprise. The seaweed salad was also nice addition.

(5 stars for this reservation access) Food was very delicious, good presentation, size was just right. Ramen was generous. Udon was good. Rolls were all rolled nicely. Sunny side egg was too runny. A soy sauce runny egg can be substituted or cook the egg on low fire for a more cooked yolk. Eggs here are not pasteurized like Japan so this level of runny egg is not recommended. Service was wonderful. The waitress was patient to allow us to look over the menu as the QR code didn't work for my phone. Decor was causal; suitable for couples, groups, family dinners. It was a good size restaurant. Tables were well spaced out and didn't feel crowded. Bathroom could use some TLC. Lightning was too dim. I would recommend this small business.
Checking out Sweet Citrus Burlingame on Broadway Avenue, V and I saw Fuumi and have since had it on our radar for a few months. Returning to the street to initially dine at Café Figaro, we decided to walk over to Fuumi and check out their menu, then subsequently chose to have dinner here instead on Sunday, July 14, 2024. We arrived around 7:45 PM, entering through the back door...because we didn't identify the front entrance from the outside. No worries, though - we discovered the private parking lot this way. Enter smiley face emoji here. The small venue, consisting of a single dining room with marble or granite top tables and black chairs, a television mounted on the wall, a few booths at the windows, and a sushi bar, was well kept and clean on the evening of our visit. Maximum occupancy is probably about 75 persons. Below are some the items that we ordered: Hamachi (Yellow Tail) Nigiri - Mom found this sushi to be good and fresh enough to order seconds of it. Chashu Ramen - This was Z's first time ordering ramen at a restaurant. He enjoyed his bowl of noodle soup. The broth looked creamy and Mom was impressed by the roasted brussels sprouts toppings. Agedashi Tofu (6 pcs) - Good; however, I think we received only 4 pieces instead of 6. Katsu Chicken Plate - Both V and I ordered this dish. The entrée was a generous serving and the katsu was perfectly golden brown with a slight crisp. V did find skin or fat or something of the like in his katsu, though. Glad that I didn't run into that. Mochi Ice Cream (Green Tea & Strawberry) - Served with toppings of whipped cream and sides of chocolate sauce, the presentation was nice. V enjoyed this dessert. Our food came out pretty quickly. Athena was our server. She was very informative, friendly, and helpful. By the middle of our meal, Mom and V commented that we may have found a new Japanese restaurant to frequent, so sounds like we will return.

I usually come over to this yummy restaurant but last nite I tried the Salmon and Tuna Bento ! It was exactly what I wanted. Salmon and Tuna was so fresh the right Cali Roll is always good. Thanks Sushi Chef Brendan! read more
I've passed by this place like a million times and finally was able to try it. M-F they have a bento box lunch special. I need to come back for that. 3.5 decent. Broadway and spider roll were 3.5 okay, nothing exciting. Tuna sunomono was 2 stars, would NOT order this again. Toro uni, good 4 stars. A5 waygu, 4 stars would get this again. Salad, 4 stars would get this again. This was mainly 3.5 stars good/decent. Low crowds, if not empty on a Saturday. Would come back for their bento box. read more

Food, Service and Ambiance : all great! That corner section of the street, easy find and new for us to check in. This Japanese restaurant is a great find! We had mini-octopus, hamachi carpaccio , spicy tuna rolls (took 2) no pictures as we easily finished it , baked mussels, fire and ice rolls, beer teriyaki (the beef was huge!), salmon teriyaki - all these are 9/10 and seafood ramen. read more

My friend took me here for dinner and it was good. We came near closing time and there was only 1 other table taken so the service was pretty fast. My friend realized that the menu was different online vs in-person. Highly recommend scanning the QR code at the restaurant instead. We ordered the vegetable tempura, gyoza, avocado and cucumber roll, chicken katsu roll, and the Godzilla roll. The gyoza roll was crispy and the sauce was good. My friend ordered the avocado and cucumber and the chicken katsu roll. The chicken katsu roll is a really good option for folks who don't like seafood and still want a roll. The Godzilla roll was everything i needed. The fried cucumber was unexpectedly delicious and was the star of the roll. The tempura in it was an additional crunch. read more

Nice small restaurant on broadway. I tried some sushi rolls, chicken skewer, miso soup and everything was good. The menu is digital so make sure you have a smart phone. The service is good my only suggestion is that they should have bento boxes on the weekends. read more
Came here for a weekday visit for lunch and wanted to try it out for the first time. They have a little parking lot at the restaurant also, but not a lot of spaces so it may be full when you come by. Some things Fuumi does pretty well is great/friendly service with a comfortable enough interior and food wise the portions are pretty generous. The downsides for me mainly comes down to quality for me. My table ordered the Teriyaki Chicken Plate ($17.50) and Grilled Short Rib Plate ($22.50). The portions are nice, but the short rib was very tough and hard to chew, but the flavor was honestly pretty decent, but for the price tag that is steep for a short rib that isn't even remotely tender. The side salad also had a pretty strange sour taste when it came to the dressing. The teriyaki chicken was also a good portion, but it was pretty dry unfortunately. I liked the teriyaki sauce, but the chicken itself lacked flavor and moisture. In terms of their cooked dishes I was a bit dissapointed, but it wasn't the full experience because I didn't try their sushi also which is what they might be better at than their rice plates so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt. The service was still good and it's worth giving another chance. read more

Tonkotsu Ramen was a bomb! Roasted brussels sprouts was a unique addition and the soup was very rich with black garlic oil. Generous amounts of noodles and toppings were a nice surprise, considering the bowl didn't look that big. My daughter ordered Tempura Udon and the volume of tempura was really generous. We shared California Delux Roll and that was delicious, too. Definitely going back to try more dishes. read more

OMG Omakase. That's really all I have to say. I love ordering omakase because I'm indecisive, so I didn't even look at the menu. Just sat down and said omakase. Done. (Oh, and a hot sake of course!) First it came with a rich, delicious miso soup. Different from other miso soups I have had. No tofu or seaweed, just the scrumptious broth. When the sushi was presented each piece was described. It was perfect. The restaurant is small but it's a friendly atmosphere. I'm only in town here for two nights but there is a very good chance I'll be back tomorrow! read more

We were at a convention in Burlingame and wanted to eat somewhere in town before getting back on the road. This place did not disappoint! The fish was incredibly fresh, the spicy udon kimchi soup was perfection, the tempura brussels sprouts is not to be missed. They make all of their sauces, dressing and kimchi in house. The prices were very reasonable, too! read more
you pay for the quality you get. The toro with uni was absolutely phenomenal. The price is kind of steep as the plates felt like smaller portions. Another amazing entree to try has to be the fuumi roll. The fried octopus was the best calamari I have ever had! The fish was so fresh and just melts in your mouth. Definitely give this place a try. read more

This is not a four star restaurant. We had to pick something up from the Grand Hyatt at SFO, so we decided to try a restaurant in Burlingame. We arrived before they opened, so I took a look at the menu. I should have picked another place to eat. Imitation crab! We were hungry and we were there so..... We ordered the spicy scallop roll - it was good. We had the cherry blossom - which was weird. The Ice & Fire - not worth $21.50, and Mango Tango - which was good. The GF had a house salad and miso soup which were both average. read more

We walked around Broadway and decided to give this a try. It is a japanese restaurant and serves various japanese dishes. It is a nice interior. The restaurant has table service and sushi bar. The menu is via QR code. They have a bento box but not on the weekend. There are many items on the menu. We decided to try fuumi roll and charsiu ramen. It took a while for our order to arrive, especially the ramen. The fummi roll includes tuna and salmon, and also fried baby octopus with souce on top of it. It is unique and yummy. The baby octopus is crunchy. The charsiu ramen is so so. It is interesting ramen serve with deep fry brussell sprouts and ear mushroom. For me, the soup is not hot enough. It is tasty but not as good as ramen shop. Overall, they are ok. read more

Eh......I had my kids friends with me and they were craving sushi. Saw Fuumi and from the outside it looked very nice. Go in and it is clean. Our waitress was a bit rude and became impatient since we didn't know what to order. I ordered appetizers, which were fantastic and the kids (teenagers) loved it as well. The two girls ordered California rolls which ate good. The boys, they ordered Ramen. They didn't like it. I tried it and the broth, it tasted old. I don't know House to explain the taste. The wasabi seemed like it came out of the bottles you can buy at grocery stores. Very thick, paste texture. Ginger was good. Would I go again, no. Poor customer service and food tasted off/old. read more
First time dining here and made dinner reservation for 7pm for our weekly date night. Arrived at 6:55p to a full house of people and unfortunately a table wasn't set aside for us. We were offered the bar or outdoor seating but we decided to wait it out for a table. After about ten minutes we were offered a back room that was setup for us as the staff was really trying hard to be accommodating. We ended up taking it and proceeded to look at the menu by scanning the QR code. The back room kind of resembled a large storage closet as there were cardboard boxes stacked up. Right when we were about to poke our heads outside to see if someone was coming back to take our order, somebody walked in. We ordered edamame, brussel sprouts tempura, warrior roll, fuumi roll, spider roll and a peach soju. The peach soju came out first pretty quickly followed by the brussel sprouts. The Brussels were light and airy and had a great taste. It would have been nice if more of the core was included instead of just the leaves. The edamame was pretty standard. The rolls came out shortly after. In general all the rolls tasted good, full of flavor and freshness. Love the fried octopus on the fuumi roll. They're like chunks of fried calamari. Overall the food quality was good, but the whole experience was very lacking. It ultimately came down to the reservations and the dining closet we got stuck in. It would have been nice if we had our table waiting for us at the scheduled time, get to experience the hustle and bustle of the main dining room, watch the fun cooking videos, watch the sushi bar and have the ambient sounds of an active restaurant. Our room was eerily quiet, and although the privacy was kind of nice, my wife and I would have liked the restaurant atmosphere we signed up for. Some other notes about the room. There was a giant electric fly swatter leaned up against the side, and rightfully so. There were a few pesky flies that were hovering around our meal the whole time. A nice thing we saw was a huge bag of candy next to what looks like a karaoke machine? Maybe they'll be handing them out for Halloween. Either way I don't think we will be returning back here. read more
