Rasoi is hands down one of the best Indian restaurants in the Bay Area! We ordered the Chicken Tandoori, Chicken Tikka Masala, garlic basil naan, basmati rice, an IPA, and their complimentary ice cream for dessert. Let me just say... wow! The Chicken Tandoori was one of the best I've ever had. It was perfectly cooked, incredibly juicy, and packed with flavor. This was actually my first time trying Chicken Tikka Masala, and I completely understand why it's such a popular dish. It was rich, flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and not greasy at all. Paired with the garlic basil naan, every bite was absolutely delicious. I'm Middle Eastern Americam Afghan, and our cuisine is known for using a lot of herbs, spices, and bold flavors. Because of that, I'm very picky and skeptical when trying new restaurants. Rasoi exceeded every expectation I had. Every dish was seasoned to perfection and bursting with flavor. I also have to give a huge shoutout to the manager, Axel. He went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing experience. He has outstanding customer service, an incredible personality, and so much passion for both the food and the restaurant. To the owners: you truly found a gem. It's hard to find someone who treats a restaurant like it's their own, and Axel definitely does. I'd also like to recognize our wonderful server. Unfortunately, I forgot her name, but she was working behind the bar making drinks while also taking care of our table. She was incredibly kind, attentive, and such a sweetheart. The entire staff made us feel welcomed from the moment we walked in. The IPA was fantastic ice cold, crisp, and incredibly refreshing, especially on such a hot day. It paired beautifully with the food. To top everything off, they surprised us with complimentary ice cream, which was such a thoughtful and generous gesture. It instantly reminded me of Afghan Qaimaq Chai. It was creamy, refreshing, and the perfect ending to an already incredible meal. I'm already looking forward to coming back with my family. Next time, I can't wait to try their biryani! Thank you, Rasoi, for a great dining experience. You've definitely earned a loyal customer, and I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic, flavorful Indian cuisine paired with exceptional customer service.

Walking through downtown Burlingame not knowing what to get for dinner, we got flagged down by Axel offering samples of tikka masala and naan. Honestly, that sealed the deal. Rasoi it was. We ordered the Rogan Josh Lamb, Butter Chicken, Onion Kulcha, Garlic Naan, and Pulao, and everything was delicious. We've walked past this place so many times but never stopped in. Definitely a mistake. It's now going into our regular rotation. The Rogan Josh lamb was an awesome recommendation. Deep, savory, and full of flavor. The butter chicken was equally great. Sweet, creamy, and rich. Both the garlic naan and onion kulcha were soft, fresh, and super flavorful. We'll definitely be ordering those again. Also, shoutout to Axel. Without him, we probably would have walked right past again and missed out on how good this place really is.

Came here to try Rasoi and overall had a really good experience. We ordered a mix of appetizers and mains to get a full idea of the menu. The samosas were crispy and well-seasoned, and the tandoori chicken was juicy with great flavor. The curries were definitely the highlight -- rich, creamy, and nicely spiced without being overwhelming. Everything paired really well with the fresh naan. We also tried the biryani, which was fragrant and flavorful, not dry at all. Service was smooth and the food came out at a good pace. Overall, a solid spot for Indian comfort food -- I'd come back to try more dishes.

Located in a prominent neighborhood makes it easy to get more foot fall. As u enter, there is a huge full bar on one wall which appeases. Service is slow. I wish u had 1 server and not 3-4 people who u are constantly repeating to. Deducting 1 star for service - not friendly and not prompt. I wish they hire more people as the current servers were packed with so many people and the restaurant was only half full so either they are slow or they need more servers who can talk in english. In $128 (before tip), we got: Food: - tandoori mushroom - 4/5- the first order we got was entirely burnt :( so we called for a replacement. I am glad, the next time it came was great - assorted app platter - 2/5 - oily veg pakora 2 pc, oily small samosa 2 pc, super oily broken papad underneath it :( nah! - dal - 4/5 - loved the channa dal with its perfect consistency and huge portion size. I wish it came with a side of complimentary rice - pulao - 2/5 - it was just plain white rice :( why call it pulao if it has no veg - saag paneer - 3/5 - i wish the saag was more pureed. Paneer pieces looked fried instead of soft. - naan - 3/5 - the usual! - onion kulcha - 4/5 - soft and fluffy. Good taste! Drinks: - nimbu pani - 5/5 - lovely taste and perfect for the toddler - indian summer - 4/5 - yummy and colorful with vodka and prosecco - pom cosmo - 5/5 - perfect - Moscow mule - 2/5 - too much ice and less alcohol quantity Kept waiting for bowls, cutlery, server, drinks didn't come at same time. Service needs improvement. Price point and drinks were awesome! Will try non veg next time.

Hands-down one of my favorite restaurants EVER. I've been coming here for years and this spot has never let me down with its consistently delish dishes, attentive service, and casual ambiance! I have quite a few favorites here but my top ones are: - chicken tikka masala - saag paneer - aloo paratha - lamb shish kebab I can honestly eat them every day. This time around, we ordered the vegetable pakora and the paneer makhani which was my first time trying them both. The pakora was so crispy and not too oily, and the makhani was so creamy and tasty. I love a super creamy base, so this was perfect for me. I'd definitely order them again. In the many times I've frequented this spot, the service has always been attentive and friendly, my drinks are always topped off. Always a positive experience here and will definitely continue to come back!

Again, great service! The owner, Asif, went out of their way to offer another order of tandoori wings since my previous picture looked too over cooked. I took the offer because we love their food. We went back and ordered the same order as last time. Appetizers, tandoori wings, two orders of Samosas, Chicken Korma, Garlic Naan, and rice. Asif, took care of all our appetizers, which wasn't necessary but we appreciate the service. Thank you again for making things right. We're looking forward to our next visit. In addition to our visit, I loved that the music was more fitting to the ambiance!

Packed house on a Saturday night. Food was great and very flavorful. Service was a bit hit or miss - it took a while for us to get water, our drinks were brought to the wrong table, etc. Prices are a tad steep but nothing egregious considering their location in Burlingame downtown. Our biggest complaint was our table was really sticky - to the point where our plates and utensils stuck to the table.

Me and a couple friends popped into Rasoi for dinner around 5:30pm. It was quite empty with only one family seated in this large restaurant. I wasn't sure if it was a red flag at first but I later learned that we were just early as more people trickled in for dinner time to the point where the restaurant was mostly full when we left. Anyway, I was immediately acknowledged and seated which I appreciated. We then placed our orders and food came out pretty quickly! We ordered: lamb biriyani, garlic naan, saag paneer, and chicken tikki masala. All of the plates were delicious! However, I do feel like the chicken tikki masala seemed a bit watery and had such small pieces of chicken in there. But, everything else seemed great! We all enjoyed our meal & appreciated the service to the point where my friends and I were chatting about how attentive they were. I'd love to come back here and try other dishes as they had quite a large menu of things I have yet to try. Garlic naan bread was fire! Loved dipping it in the tikki masala sauce and saag paneer.

My wife and I had time to kill downtown Burlingame and we were craving Indian. Walked in when they just opened , got seated and ordered a few happy hour items to start and a chicken tikka masala and the garlic naan. Fish pakora were freshly fried and had an amazing crunch! We also had the samosas that were delicious! The puff pastry was perfect and the inside mixture was perfectly seasoned! Both apps went great with the chutneys they offered with our meal. We also got the tandoori wings and they had the right amount of seasoning and they came out smoking hot(literally sizzling on a plate) we ended the meal with our curry and naan and I had a few happy hour beers (great selection btw) Sumana was our server and she's made the night for us , great service and great food! We stick to our usuals but definitely gonna expand our horizon on what they recommend next time! Beautiful decoration and lighting, as the night went on they slowly filled up! Shows how good the food and ambience is!

Service is friendly. It was pretty empty when we arrived but once 6pm hit it was completely filled and busy. We were informed that happy hour is every day not just Monday through Thursday like their menu advertises. We tried the tandoori wings which were delicious, but a few of the wings were a little pink. The pomegranate cosmo was very bright and tart. Have never received a cosmo with a salt rim, so that was different. Flavors of the saag paneer and murgh makani were good, but I wish they had more paneer and chicken in them. Seemed like not enough food for the price point. Quite a few fruit flies around that we kept having to swat to keep from touching our food. Towards the end of dinner, it was pretty busy so the staff didn't end up remembering to bring our check for quite some time.

Review for their VALENTINES DAY 2026 which fell on a Saturday. Most importantly before I begin the review of my first visit for dine-in just want to add I am so grateful that I took the time to make reservations online a day prior just to be 100% we would be given a table guaranteed on one of the busiest night s for dining out with family . This immediate area of Burlingame blvd was a pleasant surprise as I never been here before at night it was pretty lovely. Lots of places to eat and shop , it had clean streets, dog friendly and family friendly . We didn't even have to pay the parking meter and it showed no payment required as my snapped pic shows . That was one less thing to stress about . When we walked in about 10 minutes early- reservation was for 4 persons at 7:15 pm. Absolute first thing I noticed was there was no entry Host anywhere to be found. Eventually I saw them a little farther past the bar. Lots of people celebrated as I saw a crowd of people about a party 10-15 people all dressed in red holding roses so it was definitely a V day celebration. I checked in with the hosts and they told me they were cleaning out the tables for us and it will be 10 minutes . That happened twice and by 7:40 pm we weee finally seated. I understand it is Valentine's Day and chaotic and super busy . The server told us they ran out of lamb and chicken . How does that even happen? Anyways we luckily ordered the tandoori wings which were the highlight of our first dining experience here. Wings were air crispy juicy tender and lots of meat on them tasting super barbecuey . Just wish they had some more kick to them heat .Lots of food app pickups I noted too. I love their open kitchen you can see the chefs and cooks hard at work. I took several pics for food portion reference. Turns out they wore only out of lamb chops only NOT lamb kebabs though .So at the end the food shortage weren't all that bad. Prices were not bad at all. Dinner for four no desert or alcohol a few appetizers your looking at $130 with tip included. The bar looked busy because they offered a free glass of champagne while you waited . But what if you don't drink champagne? Kinda weird offer. There are a few tables outside. Service was lacking due to the volume of diners but the taste of the food salvaged the night . Another thing that was cool is that they were giving out red roses to all the females which is super nice and made them feel special on their specials day.

Went here for a girls' night on Friday at 6:30 p.m. with a reservation for six. Everything was absolutely delicious, and the staff was incredibly kind and attentive. The cocktails were also fantastic, making the experience even better. Our group included both vegetarians and meat-eaters, and there were plenty of options to accommodate everyone. As a huge butter chicken fan, I was especially impressed--theirs is now one of my favorites. I also loved their assorted breads, but preferred the naan. I can't wait to come back and explore more of the menu!

They have a lot of options to choose from, and the cocktails were definitely the highlight. Well-made, flavorful, and easy to enjoy. I also tried the wine. We sat outside, and the atmosphere felt tired and uninspired. There was nothing particularly inviting or memorable about the space. We ordered the bruschetta sampler ($24), choosing the mango, salmon, mushroom with prosciutto, and tomato mozzarella varieties. Surprisingly, they all tasted almost exactly the same. Nothing tasted fresh or vibrant. The bread was especially disappointing--bland, lacking texture, and seemingly devoid of flavor. The mango wasn't sweet, the tomatoes tasted like nothing, and even the mozzarella lacked freshness and character. The wine was equally underwhelming. My husband ordered the Tempranillo and I had the Albariño. Neither was enjoyable; both tasted harsh and overly alcoholic rather than balanced or flavorful. Even the presentation missed the mark. The glassware felt dated and unattractive, which only added to the overall feeling that the restaurant is past its prime. Unfortunately, this was not a memorable meal for the right reasons. With so many great dining options available, we won't be returning.

The staff is Top notch and deserve a raise. It's not all sunshine and rainbows though. Corporate- If you are reading this, please make the Hostess and Market dedicated positions. During the one month that I have been here, I have observed and experienced long wait times to be seated or ordering to go at the Market. Peet's coffee grab and go this morning was especially challenging for the Wait staff. The line for to be seated for breakfast was humongous and people were visibly upset. I could feel their pain as in the morning we are trying to get in and get out because people have flights to catch. The Wait time is excessive because there is only one person seating people and also performing market cash register duties. The market person also has to warm up the food for the Pete's grab-and-go's which also increases the wait time for her hosting duties. So Corporate if you are reading this, I implore you to make a change. Please hire dedicated market and hostess positions. Do not combine their Duties. If you can eliminate the excessive wait times to be seated I think peoples experiences will be greatly enhanced. Instead people are having a bad experience right out the gate. It is very hard to overwrite a bad first impression.

However, the menu felt much more limited than I remembered from several years ago, when it seemed more interesting and expansive. My friend and I shared the Chutney Prawns for $18 and the White Elephant Dosa for $26, along with one cocktail and one mocktail. Unfortunately, I was not especially impressed by the food. The prawns felt underwhelming for the price, and my mocktail was not particularly memorable. The dosa was visually impressive at two feet long, but it is ultimately still a very thin dosa and very crispy, and I found the seasoning somewhat overwhelming. The gunpowder and spices overpowered the dish for me, although the sauces and potato masala were flavorful. Our total came to approximately $90, and for that price, I expected a more satisfying overall experience. Service was also inconsistent. It was slow initially, and while our server was cordial and kind once he assisted us, he did not return to check on us after taking our order. We ultimately relied on the bartender for items such as an extra spoon and the check. The ambiance is beautiful, but between the limited menu, high prices, uneven food, and inattentive service, I do not feel the experience justified the cost. Unfortunately, I do not plan to return. For Michelin rated I expected more.
