The boys decided to treat me for dinner for my 34th birthday and it was all of our first time at Rasoi. Let me start by saying that the host, Axel, is such a breath of fresh air. One of the chillest dudes you can meet with such a fun personality and made us feel so welcomed right off the bat. I made reservations ahead of time and we were seated at the back in the best seats in the house where we could see the kitchen staff at work. Food was amazing! Garlic naan, chicken tikka masala, samosa, calamari, lamb shank, and goat biryani were all so delicious and flavorful. All 6 of us were stuffed at the end of the night. Our server, Lucky, was so nice and checked in on our table regularly to make sure we got everything we needed. The service was impeccable, all the dishes were delicious, and we felt so at home with the hospitality. It was our first time at Rosoi tonight but it certainly won't be our last! read more

Quite simply one of the best meals I had on my trip to south San Francisco. We opted for sidewalk dining in the mild evening temps. We had tikka masala, butter chicken, aloo Gobi , basmati rice, garlic naan, and for dessert gulab jamun. The quality was top notch, the flavors were on point , and the servers were all smiles and very friendly. I usually write reviews mostly to remind myself of the experiences next time I'm in town. We really love this restaurant. We recently moved to the area and have been trying out all of the local restaurants, and Rasoi is so good we've actually come here several times just in the last few weeks. The naan is always really fresh and fluffy, and all the curries we've had have been the perfect mix of flavorful and spicy. I'm particularly fond of the Saag Paneer, but honestly everything we've had has been great. Not to mention that the service is always super friendly and full of great suggestions. I do wish they offered a Thali option for solo diners, but that's a small complaint. read more

It's been some time since I've been to Rasoi, but in going there a few days ago, my family and I had a great experience. The food was delicious, and diners can dial their desired spiciness on a scale of 1 to 7. So, even our daughter, who is very sensitive to spicy hot food was able to order something to her taste. I prefer medium spice, and the range of level 1-4 was good for me, and allowed a nice variety of heat. The service was excellent too. read more

Hi there, I just moved to the city of Burlingame. I walked around downtown on Friday Jan 31st. There were so many restaurants and bars to choose from. I chose to give Rasoi a try to have a cocktail. I sat at the bar. I ordered a cocktail. I took a sip with the straw. It was one of the worse cocktails I've ever had. It was overly sweet and saturated with peppermint. A manager asked me how was my drink. I said it was too sweet. The bartender who made the drink offered to fix it by adding lemon juice. It didn't work. It tasted processed. I couldn't bear to drink it. I left the glass full. I ordered a beer. I asked for the check and I was charged for the drink that was poorly made and for the drink I did not even drink. I will not be coming back to Rasaoi. My bill ended up being $21.93. It's not about the money, it's about the principle. Customer service is not a thing anymore. read more

Rasoi is one of my favorite Indian food on the peninsula. If you order mild, you will get mild unlike most places that serves spicy which were precooked. Their assorted appetizers were tasty especially the fish which I enjoyed. The pakoras were perfect. We had the eggplant, paneer, and chicken curry. All were very scrumptious. This review is about 3 weeks late but I have been meaning to write it. I love this place! Indian is one of my favorite cuisines so when we come to visit California, this place is on one of my must eat at spots. This feels more like a more updated, new school ambiance than the traditional Indian restaurants which gives a nice and upscale feel. My husband and his parents that we took there the first time we went are all in agreement that this is the best Indian restaurant we've ever been to. My mom introduced us to this place and I'm so happy she did. We always get the chicken tikka masala, saag paneer, and navatraan korma (2 orders). All amazing dishes. My mom, brother, and grandma love the chicken tikka but I prefer more curry to just meat though it is good. The last time we were there (3 weeks ago) the owner, Asif, was waiting tables and he was very hospitable. Really made us feel so welcome. In addition to those dishes I also got a mango lassi (absolutely delicious and I could've drank like 3 of them) and kheer for dessert. The kheer was thicker than I am used to but flavor was so good. We had reservations for a group of 16. The service was so quick and accommodating. They made sure all of our drinks were full at all times and got the food out quickly. We had several Indian people in our group who gave it their mark of approval. I ordered the Chana masala, but sampled many other dishes. They were all great! If I could reorder, I think I would go with a paneer dish. Nothing against my Chana masala, just not as savory as I typically like it. I am a regular at rasoi and always taken care off by staff. Tonight i walked in and was seated right away. The 15 minutes i was sitting at the table not one person approached. Many staff walked by and looked my way but i couldnt understand why no one would take my order. I finally decided to leave and on the way out told the bartender i had been waiting. He said " ill send a server over" no apology for the bad customer service. I told him no need to send someone i will be spending my money elsewhere. Due to the time left for the kitchen and bar, we ordered pretty quickly and they moved just as fast. Everything we ate was fantastic. Came by for dinner the other night and it was a decent experience. Parking was plentiful around downtown Burlingame. Upon arrival, the staff were all wearing masks covering their mouth and nose. In addition, some staff also wore gloves, from clear vinyl to blue nitrile making it a very safe experience. The restaurant is more pedestrian with both indoor and outdoor dining. Started off with the pakora chicken and it was okay. Lighted fried pieces of chicken breast were slightly on the dry side. Had the combo tandoor as an entree and it was a good mix of tandoori, including a chicken breast, lamb sausage, shrimp, along with fish. Portions were definitely generous. The highlight of the meal was the onion kulcha which appears to be a naan with some onion over it and was delicious hot out of the oven. Service by the staff was friendly. ~$48/head after tax and gratuity for dinner. read more
