It was a random Sunday after a hike, and we were craving curry and chicken tikka masala. We found Momo & Curry because of all the great reviews, and now we completely understand the hype. If you haven't been here yet, do yourself a favor and go! The naan was some of the freshest and best I've ever had and it was the perfect companion to the tikka masala. The curry itself was flavorful, rich, and well-balanced without being overly creamy or heavy. Puuurfect! The fried lamb momo with their signature momo sauce? Absolutely incredible. I could've ordered another plate just for myself. And whatever you do, don't skip the mango lassi! It has the perfect balance of yogurt and mango flavor. I could easily drink five of them. The restaurant is spotless, welcoming, and honestly deserves even more attention. They also have their own self-brewed Timur beer, which has a really interesting and impressive story behind it. We booked a reservation here with a large party of eight and they were able to easily accommodate us. Unfortunately I didn't get pictures of all the dishes we tried, but I was able to get most. The staff were very friendly and helpful when helping us decide which dishes to order. My favorites were the mango lassi, goat biryani, and. garlic naan with the curries. The only things that lacked a bit for me was the skewers -- I was just hoping for a bit more seasoning and barbecue flavor. Overall, really enjoyed our dinner and would come back. read more

Saw other reviews and decided to try this place for a birthday dinner. Made reservations in advance for party of 8. Parking could be tricky in the area but there is a lot of turnover. As for the food, service and ambiance, I wasn't disappointed with generous portions and delicious curry, biryani, noodles, skewers and salad. The Timur beer was perfect for a light drinker and I even had two ! The Chicken 65 was delicious... imagine 65 spices in a dish ! Chef made a special vegetable pakora for us which was also delicious . The chicken Manchurian was different in flavor and very good . Very distinct flavors. It's a marriage between Indian and Chinese. Their momo (pot stickers) were fat and flavorful. We added Jhol sauce. This is curry based sauce that dressed the potstickers and made it Nepalese. The momo did not taste right in my tongue. But, maybe I needed to be more open minded ? Ordered the Dhal soup. Yuuuuum... a little on the salty side. But, so flavorful and comforting. Must order when weather is cold. Chicken Biriyani. We had biriyani befoe. And their Biriyani is over the chart. There's no boring white rice. Every single grain soaked the spices perfectly. So good The butter chicken, extra spicy was a bit odd. We ordered it to be extra extra spicy. MOMO places seem to be poppin' up everywhere, but with one so close and with good reviews, we decided to give this one a shot. We went with trying both the momo (essentially dumplings) and the biryani. (On a later visit, we got the skewer to add protein to the meal). The biryani is super good - it's one of those dishes you can just eat the entire thing in one sitting. It has both flavor and texture - and it combines beautifully that makes me hungry just writing about it. (NOTE: It did seem that the takeout portion was way bigger than the dine-in - but I've only ordered twice so far so I can't say for sure.) The momo themselves were, what I'd say, as-expected. Solid dumplings, but not like fantastic. I would take the biryani over the momo, but if you're in the mood for a lil' sumtin' dumplin' - then of course, the momo will do you right. I have come here a couple times already and it's great! Service is very nice - though during busy times not that attentive- so just be patient. My family really likes the butter chicken- so creamy and delicious paired with the biryani or chow mein (the sauce is so good!) The naan is just ok- I prefer their rice and noodles. I came here to grab lunch before a long flight from SFO. It's a restaurant in a busy, quaint part of Millbrae (in what I believe is the downtown). The restaurant wasn't too busy, but it seemed like there was a decent sized lunch rush for a weekday. It was also cool seeing staff and owners chatting with what looked like regular customers. Staff were courteous and service was quick. The food was amazing -- maybe some of the best Nepali I've had in the Bay Area. I've never had Tandoori Momos -- would 100% recommend. They were very well spiced and smoky from cooking. Absolutely delicious!! The Manchurian was also really good. Maybe a bit sweet and greasy for my taste, but very good nonetheless. Portions were also very generous for the price. I definitely ordered enough food for two people. Go here!! I'll be back when I visit San Francisco again. read more

One of the last few Indian spots we haven't tried close to our house and we're glad we did. The staff was super friendly and quickly seated us when we're walked in. The restaurant was filled with amazing smells and the menu was very inviting. This was the first time we saw dahi puri being offered so that was a must have. We also ordered chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, and steamed chicken momos. The food came out pretty quickly and we dug into the dahi puri immediately. Crispy on the outside and filled with goodies on the inside. Will be ordering this whenever we come here going forward! The momos were delicious and came with a dipping sauce. The garlic naan was light and fluffy, a good complement to the chicken tikka. We couldn't finish everything but took the rest to go. Great addition to downtown Millbrae. First Himalayan cuisine good in Millbrae I think. There's always been the Indian spot down the street. Pretty spacious spot, mainly tables for four and two that can combine for bigger parties. Also pretty sweet they have a liquor license. Tried one of there appts that was a yogurt filled crispy thing, sorry forgot what it was called. Looks like a fried dough ball but it's like a cream puff but with yogurt instead. The chicken momo was in the jhol version. I think I'm way to use to dumplings bring pipping hot but these came out warm and ready to consume without worrying about burning your mouth. The sauce reminded me of the numbing Sichuan peppercorn. They were delicious, could've just ordered just Momo's for a meal and be fine with it. Shrimp biriyani was also good. The food was delicious! Both the Lamb Curry and Lamb Biryani were flavorful and tender. Please note that the curry does not come with bread, so we ordered the Garlic Naan separately--it was super fresh and definitely worth it! Pleasantly surprised by this cute restaurant less than 10 minutes from the San Francisco airport. They served generous portions for lunch and everything was really good. The Gobi Manchurian was definitely my favorite dish. The cauliflower was lightly battered, firm and had the perfect amount of Manchurian sauce. I also really enjoyed the vegetable Biryani - the fried onions on the top were a nice surprise and it was packed with cauliflower, peas, peppers and carrots. First time a hit. This is no one hit wonder tho. We tried it a few weeks of opening, and we were surprisingly happy we ate there. So much so, that we have gone many times with friends and family. Usually a new restaurant take months to work out the kinks and stabilize their dishes to where its consistent and tasty. No problems here. Never a bad experience. Nepalese food is spicy (can be adjusted) with lots of curry and seasonings. The dishes are cooked so to awaken your tongue's senses. Nepal is close to India, so they offer naan bread (yum). Momo is a great place if you are a vegetarian. The manager is usually on site and takes the time to meet their customers. The decorum is pleasant, but not over the top. Momo & Curry Nepal was one of the friendliest local businesses I've visited in a long time! The staff here was super hospitable, proudly showcasing their Nepali heritage through their dishes. The Combo Skewer plate came with boneless chicken and lamb pieces, marinated in yogurt and Himalayan spices, and grilled to juicy perfection in a tandoor oven. The skewers were served with marinated and grilled broccoli, onion, and peppers, and served with salad and mint sauce on the side. I also had the Goat Daal Bhaat, a complete Nepali meal that came with rice, tadka dal, achar (spiced potato and vegetables), broccoli, goat curry (bone in chunks in a spiced onion gravy), and gulab jamun, all served on a round metal platter. The meal was balanced and satisfyingly delicious, and the flavors were all authentic (except for the broccoli, which for some reason they substituted for raayo ko saag). Overall, the food here was worth 4 out of 5 stars, but the amazing service definitely gives this small business a boost! read more

We went to Momo & Curry for a weekend dinner and absolutely loved it. Everything we ordered was excellent , my fav was chilly chicken and egg noodles. They had some options for kids as well which was appreciated. The Biryani and Momos were delicious. We ordered the Biryani hot which was quite spicy for us even though we have quite high spice tolerance so keep that in mind :D We also enjoyed the Nepali Beer. This location has gone through a few changes with different Indian owners. Momo and Curry Nepal has a lot of IndioChinese additions to their menu. Their momos are good, though we forgot to take a picture. The chicken vindalooo, though mild, was very flavorful with rich notes of all the amazing spices. The sauce was bold and the chicken was tender. The naan, though small and thin, was very fresh and chewy. I need to try more item from their menu. The food is delicious here. Saw this spot during arts and wine weekend for soft opening. Tried this place for an event and I enjoyed this new local spot in Millbrae. After the event I came back to get more dinner here again with friends and it did not disappoint. The food is on par with the service was still excellent. The food came out fairly quick. casual weekday lunch for 3...wanting to try indian nepalese cuisine...to maximize variety, ordering and sharing items family style...plain naan $3.75...roti-tandoori $5.50...chicken tandoori (4 legs) $28.25...basmati rice $3.50...butter chicken $18...veggie biryani $16.50...soda can $3...rice, roti and naan along with the biryani and butter chicken came out quickly...naan or roti, don't really notice a big difference...not an expert...one was little thinner and other was slightly thicker...taste wise similar...butter chicken was delicious and plentiful for only $18...so creamy, sweet, smooth and buttery...biryani was also delicious even with the simplest veggie version...probably didn't need all three rice, roti and naan...just a basket of roti should have sufficed for 3, but all good...great to wipe the butter chicken sauce clean...the tandoori chicken legs ended up being 4 leg quarters...4 legs with 4 thighs...it was delicious and tender...very flavorful, but way too much food...had enough leftovers for one large meal for one person....about $100 total paying...for the amount of food ordered, it was plenty for 4 people...great food and service in a comfortable atmosphere... read more

Two of my colleagues from different parts of the state joined me for a dinner meeting here. I chose this because it is conveniently located 0.5 mile from the BART station, where I picked them up, and because we all like trying different cuisines. I came to the restaurant early to ensure we'd have a booth for the time we needed. The staff was friendly and helpful. They set a RESERVED table sign, which we found easily when I returned with my colleagues. We were hungry and ordered a variety of dishes to share: Chicken MoMo, steamed $15.50 Lamb Biryani $18.50 Daal-Bhaat (yellow lentil daal), basmati rice (bhaat), steamed broccoli, Nepali fresh achaar (pickle), Gulab jamun (sweet deep-fried dough ball) $21.00 Salmon Tandoori, cooked in a clay oven served on smoky sizzling plate $21.75 Timur Beer $9 x 3 We all enjoyed every dish - each was prepared well, with good texture, color, and flavor, and nicely presented. The beer was quite good, as well. What they considered "spicy" was not spicy for us, so we used the spicy sauce that was brought in a small bowl. The only item I did not try is the Gulab jaman; based on my colleagues' responses and knowing that I do not care for Indian sweets, I declined to taste it. The servers were kind: they checked on us, got what we needed, and did not chase us away as we continued our discussion past the time when we'd finished eating. A factor may be because it was not busy that evening. We had more than enough to eat, and we packed a couple of small containers for leftovers. The restaurant is simple in its furnishings, with booths on two sides and tables in the middle. There's a beautiful mural painting of Nepal all along one wall.
