Do you like trying different food? This food truck is one of the most delicious food truck I have ever been to in the Bay Area personally in my opinion the food is different compared to what you eat in the Bay Area. It is very rare in my opinion I met the owner the day. I ordered some food here. I can't remember his name, but he was super kind and helpful. He is a very humble guy. The food tasted so delicious. It was fresh and had a lot of flavor. Honestly, a very different and unique type of meal. I absolutely love it and I highly recommend this place!! he used to be at a Shell gas station but now he is in a parking lot. The portions are so huge here too!! you get your moneys worth over here. I definitely love coming here and will always highly recommend this place and I will always come back.

the food was great. the chicken and beef combo are overflowing with savory rice and tasty salad , side chicken with corn was also good.

Second time trying this food truck since it's close to work. We had chicken and beef tikka served with rice, salad, garbanzo and bread. The green sauce elevates the flavor too that's why we ask for extra Me and my team enjoyed the food and service is friendly. This is located in parking lot.

Amazing Afghan food and great service! Watani Spot is a true hidden gem. The food is fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The kabobs are juicy, the rice is perfectly cooked, and everything tastes authentic and well-seasoned. Portions are generous and definitely worth it. Abdullah, the owner, is very friendly and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. If you're looking for high-quality halal Afghan food with great flavor, this place is a must-try.

Pacha palow or bone narrow they serve it on Sundays only this is must must try

If you're looking for the best and super fresh food to the point that they even peel potato for their fries this is the spot it's worth all the penny and all the wait

Ordered from grubhub, and the order was ready on time for pickup. The food is pretty good. I got Supreme Watani Wrap which was delicious. Loved it. My wife was also satisfied with Kabuli Pulao. The chicken was a bit spacy. Tikka kabab with rice was also very good. Overall, very happy with food quality here and will definitely order again.

Best food truck food I have ever had!!! Reminds me of the old hole in the wall DeAfghanan. Owner is a gentleman!

The chicken and steak are so tender and amazing!

It's tucked away but once you find this place it is a freaking GEM!! So good. Definitely going back again.

Flavor bomb in your mouth... YES PLEASE! My husband is Afghan so I'm very well acquainted with authentic homemade Afghan food taste and this food truck is amazing especially with their Kabob plates! We got the mixed combo kabob plate and The rice was perfectly seasoned and the meat; OMG! The beef was juicy and so tender and the chicken was no less! The secret chutney sauce is to die for especially with it smothered all over the chicken. Then they had this amazing garbanzo bean stew that's typically topped on the rice and that was absolutely delicious. I wish I would've taken a picture of the plate before we emptied it into our bellies. Portions are very generous and price is excellent. We also got the watani wrap and gee whiz it is a huge sandwich and the flavors mesh oh so perfectly. The wrap can for sure feed 2 people easily. This is my new go to spot! I can't wait to try the rest of the menu. Definitely worth it!

I don't know how this place has less than 5 stars. Their food is beyond amazing, probably the freshest tasting food truck I've been to in a while. Service, always friendly and happy whenever I come by. I've tried Kabuli Palao w/ lamb...meat slides off the bone! Their Chaplee kabob with rice is my go-to. Their fries...fresh! Not your store bought pre-cut chemical GMO etc tasting fries. These are like In-N-Out, fresh lol. They usually have new weekly specials, I look forward to these. Don't listen to the other reviews..come try it. Honestly my favorite food truck right now.

Came across this place while getting gas at the Shell station and am SO GLAD I gave it a try. The beef was the standout for me, melts in your mouth and has immense flavor! Whatever they are using for the marinade is working very well. Chicken was just as tasty. I think the side of beans was a standout as well, so don't sleep on this. Large portion of rice cooked perfectly which I could not finish because I was too full. 10/10 would come back.

    Sampler plate

Food that warms the soul and is halal. Clean, fast, and most importantly they were very friendly! This place is one place I look forward to whenever I'm mandated to work in Burlingame.

Friendly service but 2 stars for the veggie and beef wrap. They were such a disappointment. The beef pieces were tender and tasted like stewed meat but the vinaigarette-like sauce was a little strong. The meat was lacking in flavor and there was a lot of crunchy lettuce in it - I felt like I was eating a beef and lettuce wrap with vinaigrette. Overall, I found the flavors of both wraps to be underwhelming. From the picture on the truck, the veggie wrap looks like it is filled with slices of mozzarella and tomatoes, etc. It looked good so I ordered it.. However, my veggie wrap looked nothing like the picture on the truck. Not even close! Mozzarella isn't in the description so what's that thick white slice of whatever it is? The chicken kabob rice plate is tasty, though. I will stick with that next time.

For everyone else, the food is consistently excellent. The flavors are deep, well-spiced, and clearly cooked with care. Nothing feels rushed or careless. Everything we tried was good, but the lamb shank is on another level. Fall-apart tender, richly seasoned, and deeply satisfying in that slow-cooked way that makes you stop talking mid-bite. This is what the chef's kiss gesture exists for. Kamdesh is confident in its lane and does not try to be everything to everyone. If you love meat and bold, comforting flavors, you will be very happy here. If you do not, you should plan accordingly. Five stars for execution, especially that lamb shank.

Their portions are fairly large, and overall the food was pretty decent, although not all of the dishes were my cup of tea I will say. This was my first time having Afghanan cuisine, so take what I say here in my review with a grain of salt. I rounded up because the food was pretty tasty and filling, but wasn't super impressed by the overall experience. So, to me, flavor and quality of the food is more important than the overall experience with the staff and vibes of the space. I would have given a 3.5/5 if I could. Food: 4/5 A friend mentioned that this is his family's go to spot for some of the most authentic Afghan food, so this is what I am basing the rest of this review on. We ordered Triple Kabob Murgh, Teka and Chaplee Kabob, Quabili Pallow, Mantu, Aushak, Sabzi Challow, Kado Borani, and Doogh. The kabob meats were all seasoned differently and were very tender, but everything else had a very similar palate to each other. Everything was fairly tasty, and the lamb wasn't too gamey, which I appreciated. If you try the Doogh yogurt drink, know that it is sour and an acquired taste, my friends said it wasn't good until they ate some food along side it. Staff/Space: 3.5/5 The staff wasn't the most friendly nor did they really come to check on us. The guy just took the order and brought our order and that was the only real interactions we had with the staff. The space in general was super homey and very much set for cozy family vibes. There is a decent amount of space inside and outside to accommodate for various party sizes. There is only street parking, which is not super convenient.

The meat is succulent and incredibly well-seasoned, with the shami being a standout...definitely the kind of dish you don't judge by its cover! This dish is served on a bed of rice and small salad. The rice is cooked well. I have also tried several of their appetizers, and my favorites are the samosas and borani banjan (eggplant), though the bolani are also great, and the serving size is enough to feed a small army. The samosas are a nice departure from traditional samosas I am accustomed to, especially at India restaurants. The ones here are large, flatter (almost like an empanada), and not the slightest bit greasy. You can tell they make these fresh. The banjan have a nice acidity and a tasty cream/tomato sauce they are tossed within. The bolani can be prepared with either leeks or potatoes (or ask for a combo!) and are served with a cream dipping sauce. I feel that everything here is a good value, with the triple kebab coming in at $25, and the appetizers all coming in at $10-$15. You will not leave hungry.
