    Beautiful decor

This restaurant always delivers wonderful service and food. After being on the beach today my husband said....i could really look forward to the mushroom soup at Monsoon. From the minute you walk in we are transported to the Himalayans. The decor is welcoming and peaceful. Im vegan so it's great to have so many options. We love both soups.(lentil is vegan) ...appetizers...and the meal. My husband is a meat eater and loves his choices. I love the coconut curry vegetables. The service is amazing...love the owner....she is so nice. Wonderful time at this beautiful restaurant.

A great spot for Himalayan food that hits the spot and has great value, too. We came right when they opened on a Sunday and each got our own combinations with curries and split an order of chicken momos. Everything was delicious, especially in the combos. I preferred the chicken curry over the lamb but both had tons of meat and everything was seasoned perfectly--not too salty, which is a rare find with me. It's mainly one woman leading the show up front who's very kind but sometimes can get busy when more tables start filling up so we did have empty water cups for a while, but didn't take away from the overall experience.

Decent Nepali place in the downtown half moon Bay Area. The grilled lamb sekuwa with salad was really good but the chicken momos and chicken chowmein were strictly ok! They were extremely busy with full crowd but service was still good.

Amazing restaurant! Loved the ambiance, food(especially momo dressing for dumpling), staff/owner were super super friendly. Really can't ask for more. Probably one of the best restaurants I've visited in the past couple of years.

Good food and nice people. We tried a few different dishes and everything was flavorful and fresh!

Came here after a long hike at Half Moon Bay and it was the perfect post-hike meal. We ordered the mango lassi, aloo paratha, shrimp tandoori, and Himalayan chicken curry. The shrimp was tasty but a little overcooked. We liked the vegetable curry that the plate came with though. The Himalayan chicken curry was steaming hot when it came out and packed with spices and flavor. The food took a bit to come out but it was well worth the wait. There's a small section where they sell local goods in the restaurant and the whole place has a great ambiance. Would definitely come again if in the area!

My husband is Nepali and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Monsoon. This is a cute little family-operated restaurant with plenty of menu items to choose from. For drinks, we got two of their Monsoon cocktails - Basanta and Barkha. Both delicious, reasonably priced, and tasted exactly as described on the menu. The Mango Lassi was great too. For food, we ordered 4 plates of Chicken Momos, as well as the Chicken Sekuwa. This was the perfect amount of food to feed me, my husband, and our 5 and 1 year old. The momos were good but the Sekuwa was my absolute favourite. Such a simple dish but packed with flavour, both the chicken and the veggies that came with it. 10/10 recommend We've been here twice already and this is definitely our go-to spot from now on whenever we're in Half Moon Bay.

Tbh I think we came on an off night. All four of us walked away from this meal feeling very indifferent about what we ate. The momos were kind of dry. There was a spice in all of the dishes that personally didn't sit well with me. I brought home my leftover chicken momo but ended up just tossing it because it wasn't as good as I hoped. The reviews made this place seem fabulous so I'm hoping we were visiting on a bad day.

I can see why because their food is delicious. Fiancé and I got their momo platter (4 each of the veggie, pork and chicken momo), chicken kabob, and chicken thukpa (noodle soup). We have never had thukpa before and it was pretty good and warming. Perfect on a chilly night. Momos were juicy, and beautifully wrapped. The chicken kabob came out sizzling and was quite juicy. Their portion size is great. We even had some leftovers for next day. Service was fast and friendly. Was impressed there were just two people waiting tables/taking orders for a full house. Food came out quick and there were even a couple takeout orders while we were there so they definitely managed the flow quite well. Would definitely come back if I'm in the area again.

That might not be a great thing though because the food just didn't have enough flavor for me. To be fair, maybe it's a difference between Indian and Himalayan food, I'm not really sure. I think it might work for people who would enjoy Indian cuisine if the flavors were more subtle. Service was friendly and everything was prepped well, it just wasn't for me. I wish I would have noticed the dumplings on the menu before ordering or that the staff would have pointed them out, because I would have liked to try them and I'm not sure if or when I'll be back.

But all of them are solid, with the Northern Indian and Nepalese dishes really standing out. Some standout dishes: * Goat curry--get this one as spicy as you can handle it and you won't be disappointed. * Choila--do not skip this! The lamb is unbelievably good and the flavors are so unique. * Any of the momos, but personally I like the vegetable one best. * Onion chili tomato uttapam * Tandoori chicken and lamb. I usually hate this dish because most restaurants dry out the meat, but Sugandh always serves up a moist, tender, and delicious tandoori meat. It's amazing. * Malai kofta. Theirs is maybe a little on the sweet side, but it's still great. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. This is truly a wonderful place to bring a family. They've also got a full bar, and the pours tend to be very stiff. They also have a variety of beers including Nepalese beers. The only drawback is the physical restaurant is old and a bit run down, but it's kept clean. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

He helped us figure out the right amount of food, kept in touch by text, had everything ready right on time, and packaged it really well for us to bring into the classroom. We even increased the order the day before, and they handled it without any issue. We ordered chow mein, momos, naan, and mango lassi, and it ended up being such a great way for the kids to experience a little Nepali cuisine. Since then, my family has ordered from Aroma House twice on our own. We've tried the butter masala with chicken and paneer, samosas, veg biryani, and fire-grilled paneer. Everything has been excellent. At this point, Aroma House is probably our favorite spot in Redwood City for Indian/Nepali takeout. Thank you, Prajwal and Aroma House.
