My family and I came to Cobani in Half Moon Bay for Father's Day dinner without any expectations, and we were absolutely blown away. Everything we ordered was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. We tried the combo gyro wrap, a platter, and all of the baklava varieties, and every single item was outstanding. The ingredients tasted fresh, the meats were perfectly cooked, and the baklava was the perfect sweet ending to the meal. What really stood out, though, was the staff. Everyone was so welcoming, kind, and generous. We will definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for delicious Mediterranean food in Half Moon Bay! read more

Not bad for Mediterranean food in HMB, but service left us feeling weird. We came on a holiday weekend and it was fairly empty at first but filled up around 1 pm. You order at the counter, then they bring the food to your table. Putting our order in was a bit awkward, as the guy was on the phone taking orders and kept answering as soon as a call came in which interrupted us a couple times. He also seemed a bit distracted and we had to repeat parts of our order. Food takes about 15 minutes to prepare since they grill the meat fresh. Portions are big, we got the chicken shish plate, Adana kebab and lamb gyro plate. Chicken shish was our favorite, the Adana kebab was decent but pretty gamey smelling, and the gyro meat was tender. We were confused because we saw half the people bussing their own tables since there was no signage, but they told us they would come and clean the tables. We also got some dessert from the counter when placing our initial order but didn't actually get it so we went back up, but the guy was confused and just said "what do you want" and then when we reminded, he said "oh I was waiting for you to come back up", which was awkward for everyone. Desserts weren't the best tasting (VERY sweet), so I'd stick to the entrees. Overall, food: decent taste, good portions, clean atmosphere. Service: could use work, hoping we just came in on an off day. If you want nice service, Ciya down the street is definitely the place. read more

Last Tuesday I was just sick of cooking and wanted to watch basketball anyway. There were a bunch of things at Cobani that I wanted to try so we got take out. It arrived right on time! Here's what we got: chicken shwarma plate - a tad dry but some of the best flavored i've had mixed grill plate - outstanding. The kebabs are still my favorite, chicken especially. Greek Salad- excellent. not too much feta, some interesting additions like little chunks of pickle Eggplant salad- this was not a repeater, unfortunately. It was woefully underseasoned and very oily. Too bad. I usually love the vegetables that were in it. The portions were huge. We actually had 2 dinners and 1 lunch from this order. I'm going to lunch there again tomorrow! read more

We were just leaving the beach and wanted a small snack before heading back home. Most things in downtown were closing and this was close by so we checked it out and it was good! We just got the garlic fries and tried out this chocolate pistachio "chocopista" dessert thing. The fries were pretty good and they gave ketchup and ranch. Tbh the pista thing was not my favorite it had a weird texture but wasn't bad. Definitely a good option if you want food in half moon bay! Next time we'll get the plates since they looked good. I was a bit sad to see that this restaurant had changed ownership but due to the positive reviews we decided to try lunch here - We ordered the fried calamari and the shrimp plate = I have to say that this is the first time that we just didn't find this worth eating - the breading came off entirely as you ate it = no tender pieces of calamari flavoring coming through and after hiking for a few hours -we were hungry = so mostly uneaten - Shrimp plate has 7 or so seasoned small size shrimps which were ok = one piece of warmed store bought pita bread and a salad with a oily dressing - the salad took over most of the plate - and best part was the rice actually - no hummus or anything comes with this ....very pricey meal for meh results. read more

My first visit. Lunch on a weekday I had the fried calamari it was absolutely perfectly fried. I had the tartar sauce and it was very good as well. I would recommend this although it's a little pricey but so is fish in general. I will come back to try the Falafel next. read more

Stopped the new Mediterranean restaurant on 92/Main St. it was great for just a few days being open. They even have alcohol available. We have the appetizer plate and the mixed grill. They also had Vostra Prosecco for me and Josh Cab for Kev. Everything was delicious. Something's were spicy for me. An interesting display of desserts that I was not too familiar with. That might be our next visit. But, it was a great place to stop at a the rain started to pick up. read more

It's hard to find a really good Mediterranean restaurant. Cobani really delivers. First of all their French fries are the best I've had in Northern California. The hummus and salad that accompanied our plates are really good and generous. Your pick of the entree is also well worth the trip. They added a new item, cauliflower wings, fabulous addition! The outside of the building may not look fancy, and it isn't super fancy insides. But it's clean and bright inside with a wide variety of appetizers, entrees, small plates and desserts (including several varieties of baklava). The food was great! I'd never tried Cobani's before but my family wanted Greek, so I ordered to take out 5 different meals from their lunch menu. I was surprised when all 5 meals fit into 1 bag -- worried we wouldn't have enough for our party. Ha! Me and my group of 4 were looking for a place to eat on a Sunday, around 8,9 pm basically everything was close, we were loosing hope to find a good warm meal and we came across this place. It basically was heaven sent. I called and the owner was really friendly and accommodating to us being a little on the late side. We got to the restaurant and the food was delicious. Went Thursday night at 7:30 with my son. I had beef shish kabob plate and he had the chicken shawarma plate. Also had the lentil soup. Everything tasted great. Very nice people. It doesn't look like much from the outside but the inside is very family friendly, very casual. 2 big screen TVs with sports on which we enjoy But no sound so as to not interrupt your dining. Great place to take a family I think. Price didn't break the bank. We will be back UPDATE Tonight I went and got takeout for my daughter-in-law and myself. Got the chicken shawarma wrap which I had never had a wrap and I loved it. She got this chicken shish kabob plate and was very happy. Also had a dessert which was real tasty.
