THE BEST ASIAN FOOD EVER !!! I come all the way from San Jose to visit HMB and I always have dinner here. The food is impecable and super delicious. From beef to shrimp, veggie chowmein, pork buns everything is fantastic ! This trip I did take a surprise to find out the building is up for sale. So I hope Asian king stays open even if relocated. As of 2/15/26 there's about a year left for the lease to end. Please stop by and try this place !!! Service is great. And the food is amazing.

Unfortunately, this was the worst curry I think I've had!! I LOVE curry and I don't tend to be picky, but the chicken was super rubbery, and the curry itself had an unpleasant texture, and lacked flavor. I hate giving bad reviews but I thought I should let the cooks know. The restaurant space itself was nice though!

The most delicious orange chicken and beef chow fun I've had in a loooooooong time!! Will be returning!! Extremely nice staff, quick service and very generous portions! For about $25 three of us were able to eat pretty generous plates!I even got seconds provided utensils and paper plates for my Togo order this is one plate, imagine 4 like this fo

This spot is phenomenal with the quality of their food. The veggies are always fresh and everything is cooked when you order it. I haven't had welted vegetables from here and that's a huge plus. Asian King's kitchen has always been consistent with their service for take out, delivery and dine in. The family who owns and runs this establishment are very pleasant and if you have a dietary restriction or want to replace an item in their dish they are willing to do it without a lot of hassle. However, I recommend if you're going to opt for a different ingredient in a dish always be willing to pay an additional cost. It's their time and effort they give to accommodate your needs. I highly recommend their lunch specials and their vegetarian dishes. I've tried different dishes from each of their protein categories and vegetable entrees. My favorites so far: Broccoli and Black Mushroom Three Kinds of Mushroom Chinese Chicken Salad Clams in Black Bean Sauce Kom Poa Tofu Sweet and Sour Shrimp Lunch Special Deluxe Wonton Soup Cheese Puffs Vegetarian Eggrolls Try this place out if you're driving down the coast. It's a good spot to have lunch or dinner. Whether, you're on your way through, in or out of town. If you're local, great delivery spot. Minimum is $30 for delivery. Eat well and be well. Good food and good vibes

Decent food, good portions, a little on the salty side but with rice or chow mien it was good.

When we arrived, we were easily able to get seated without a reservation (perhaps because it was a Sunday). The service was wonderful from the get-go - they were extremely friendly and attentive the entire time, and made us feel very welcomed. And though we arrived on the slightly later side, they never made us feel rushed. The interior of Rin-Tei is minimalist and cozy, and had a very familial feel, as virtually all the tables are connected by a long bench along the wall. It contributes to the inviting, inclusive atmosphere of the restaurant, making it a great spot to meet up with friends. We ordered a variety of dishes which we all split, including: the garlic shrimp, the Vietnamese papaya salad, cold sesame TanTan pho, keema curry, calamari, sizzling wagyu loin, and a couple drinks. And everything we had was excellent! My personal favorites were the sizzling wagyu loin, which was perfectly cooked and abundantly juicy and flavorful, and the warm, tasty keema curry. I'd also never had cold pho before, but I ended up being very pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it! I don't think you can go wrong with anything here. I loved my experience at Rin-Tei, and will no doubt be back soon!

The ambiance is a bit similar to a fast casual restaurant than that of a high end course meal and the service aligns with that. Bathrooms are in a bit of a sorry state and chairs are peeling at the edges. Service is a bit clumsy and rushed. No one asks for any food restrictions before the meal and it isn't asked when reservations are being made, so you'll have to actively speak up if you need this addressed. Dishes are only fully explained at the bar, if you sit at the standard tables you'll get a very basic dish explanation. The food is mostly Chinese Japanese fusion and some dishes knock it out of the park, like the chawanmushi which is fused with flavors of Chinese egg drop soup. Some really drop the ball, like the scallion noodles which were soggy and overly greasy, the oil was not properly infused with the green onion and so you just got mushy soggy plain oil flavored noodles. The course lacked consistency. Some dishes were incredible, some average, and some downright bad. There's a lack of consistency in the prep also, there were crab shells in the orange crab dish, there was a bad bitter uni in one of the chawanmushi, etc. I think the ambiance, service, and course doesn't add up to the $150 price tag. There's definitely potential but the lack of effort does affect the overall experience.

We sat down in this homey restaurant that felt like we'd been transported back in time to 1997 or so which I liked for a change. Nestled in an unassuming strip mall by some martial arts studio and a few other restaurants and stores. We ordered way too much food and the plates were huge. Highlights were the fried shredded pork with jalapenos, hot and sour soup, and orange chicken though everything was great. Best hot and sour soup I've ever had, great spice level and depth of flavor. The fried shredded pork was seasoned perfectly and went great with everything. We also had bbq pork chow mein and I was pleasantly surprised by the bbq pork being obviously house made fresh and not dried out bright red 40 like most places. Service and value were both great with a huge amount of leftovers and very accomadating but not suffocating service. We had about 7 dishes and it was about a hundred. The salad had just the right amount of dressing--it was flavorful without being overpowering or drenched in sauce. The mee ka tang had wok-charred noodles topped with a mild, lightly seasoned gravy and a generous portion of protein. The prices are reasonable. Food comes out quickly and the staff is very sweet. Because they are located at the beginning of downtown, there is usually plenty of parking on the adjacent streets and also a parking garage directly behind the restaurant at the Webster/Cowper Garage. The restaurant is well-lit, clean, and inviting. The tables are well-spaced from each other. For the appetizer we started with their salt and pepper calamari. This was excellent and was was served with a cilantro lime dipping sauce. Since a few of them have never dined at Tamarine or it's been years, I recommended one of my favorite dishes to share, the Empress Rice. The garlic and ginger sticky rice topped with a sunny-side up egg and drizzled with sweet soy sauce is a must. They break the egg and mix it in table-side. We also ordered their garlic noodles which was also great. Traditionally other restaurants use lo mein noodles or thin spaghetti, but they use egg noodles here. You can taste that wok-tossed garlic, butter, and parmesan cheese flavor in the noodles. I think there was a hint of black pepper too. For the mains, the shaking beef is always a hit. The filet mignon beef cubes are so tender and cooked a perfect medium rare. It's served with a side of arugula salad. It was our first time trying their lemon grass sea bass and we all loved it. Since this was pan roasted there was this flavorful lemongrass and garlic crust on the fish! The service here is consistently friendly and attentive. Our waters were constantly refilled and empty dishes removed promptly. For entrees, we had the red chicken curry and branzino ca nuong with pan-fried eggplant, jasmine rice, and coconut rice. For dessert, we tried the black sesame cheesecake, mango coconut tapioca, and banana beignets. They put a happy birthday sign on the cheesecake, which was cute, but just a heads-up, the birthday dessert was not free. The food was good overall, but nothing really stood out to me. Also, as someone who eats Vietnamese food quite often, I did not feel like any of the food was actually Vietnamese. The branzino came with nuoc cham, but that was pretty much it. Most of the menu felt more generally Asian-inspired than Vietnamese, which was disappointing. The service was just okay. The servers were nice, but not super friendly, and the whole interaction felt a little awkward. I also felt rushed throughout dinner because they kept asking if they could take our plates, even though we were clearly still eating and there was still food left. The restaurant definitely has a classy vibe, but to me it felt more like awkward classy. Overall, the food was decent, but between the service and the lack of Vietnamese flavors, I probably would not rush back.
