I want to keep spreading the word about this place -- some of the most delicious Indian / Nepalese food I've had. Everything is made with care. Family-run. The dosas and apricot curry are my two faves.

Excellent service. Arti was very patient and accommodating. We were able to order the butter chicken as a lunch special. Nice portions, very flavorful food. Highly recommend!

Excellent Himalayan and Indian food. Food is delicious and very authentic. I highly recommend their Newari set because it is probably the best dish I have had in a very long time.

Momo was my favorite. It was fresh & juicy

You heard that right: under $15 for a 5 star all you can eat meal. Before I talk about the food, lets talk about drink refills: I love whenever a place leaves me with my own water refill container. I drink pretty quickly, and being made to ask for refill after refill, let alone wait, is such a pain. The water glass is pretty small, but free is free. Plus the water is filtered. The (yellow) dal is SO on point here. Probably the best I've ever had at a restaurant. It had a slight smokey flavor, with what might have been the very slight hint of garlic. I poured it over the brown rice. Everything except for three dishes is totally vegan. Huge plus for healthy and super yummy. I admit to being surprised by not being wow'ed by the butter chicken, because Himalayan style butter chicken is my absolute favorite, being just a tad on the sweet side but still generous on the cream . This wasn't gross by any means, it just wasn't the wow factor I was thinking I would get. That still being the case, this place still deserves a solid 5 stars: The waitperson was super polite and helpful. They even went and made naan fresh for me even though I had arrived an hour before the buffet was ending. They even told me if I showed my student canva, I could get the student discount. I didn't have my student stuff with me sadly, but that's on me. Bonus points to them for flexing to accommodate me ! If you are looking for friendly, healthy, affordable, and a filling experience, eat here!

We were greeted warmly, and offered complimentary small bowls of vegan lentil soup shortly after sitting. We ordered samosas, which were just the right balance of crispiness with fresh tasting innards. I had a glass of Pinot Grigio for only $8, and for entrees we had shahi paneer and vegetable korma, which we both loved. The spice level was low for The Wife, who has had trouble with that recently. The garlic naan went perfectly with everything else, and we marveled at how empty this place was on a Saturday night. Thank you yo our server Pasang in particular.

It was a Friday night, and apparently, they have live music several nights a week! It wasn't amplified, or if it was, it was still provided a great dining atmosphere - not too loud, but I could tell the guy playing was really enjoying himself! We ordered an assortment. I always love Chicken Tikka Masala - I consider it the test of a good Indian restaurant. We got the Allo Gobi - a cauliflower and potato dish, as well as some of their lemon rice. I had never seen that before so we had to try it. We also had a Paneer dish with onions and peppers. Everything was fantastic! So fresh and flavorful, and absolutely packed with spiced! My partner said she thought it was the best we have ever had! We enjoyed everything, and the service was very friendly and personal. We spoke with someone who may have been the owner, who informed us that the food was from Punjab - far Northern India. We had a great meal, and felt like we made new friends as well. Wave if you see us there - we may have our own table there before long!

The all you can eat lunch buffet has a lot of delicious variety. The selection can change on a daily basis. My wife is vegetarian and we love all the vegetarian choices. Today, some on my favorite items in the buffet were the tandoori chicken and the vegetable curry. The papadam and the chutneys are really good. What separates Darbar's chutney from others is the flavor and the thickness (while other restaurants water their chutneys down). This is one example of the attention to details the makes this my go to for this cuisine. The folks working there are friendly and provide good customer service. The restaurant is spacious and ample to seat parties large and small. They also have a private room that folks can set up a private party. I look forward to returning:)

It being one of the newer Indian/Nepali Restaurants in town, we decided to give the buffet a try for a Thanksgiving meal. We were promptly seated, we preferred the booth. I can vouch for the Yogurt with Veggies (Raita), Samosas, papad, rice pudding (kheer). They tasted great, I repeated each one. For the other food options (I am vegetarian), my Indian food palate and cravings were left craving for more. The veggies -both were heavily cauliflower based and with similar flavour, not much tasteful. Dal had a strong garlic taste. Palak paneer was made in a different style, though away from the traditional recipe but it was nice tasting. The yogurt fruit dessert was not much picked, I too tasted, but wasn't impressed. We tried the Taj Mahal Lager beer, it is very good, a must try. The restaurant is huge, clean, servers are attentive, buffet is well placed and served at ideal temperatures (both hot and cold). Over all for a vegetarian meal, it was Quite an Average Experience. I may want to keep to ordering an a la carte meal in case we plan to visit again.

I can see why because their food is delicious. Fiancé and I got their momo platter (4 each of the veggie, pork and chicken momo), chicken kabob, and chicken thukpa (noodle soup). We have never had thukpa before and it was pretty good and warming. Perfect on a chilly night. Momos were juicy, and beautifully wrapped. The chicken kabob came out sizzling and was quite juicy. Their portion size is great. We even had some leftovers for next day. Service was fast and friendly. Was impressed there were just two people waiting tables/taking orders for a full house. Food came out quick and there were even a couple takeout orders while we were there so they definitely managed the flow quite well. Would definitely come back if I'm in the area again.

That might not be a great thing though because the food just didn't have enough flavor for me. To be fair, maybe it's a difference between Indian and Himalayan food, I'm not really sure. I think it might work for people who would enjoy Indian cuisine if the flavors were more subtle. Service was friendly and everything was prepped well, it just wasn't for me. I wish I would have noticed the dumplings on the menu before ordering or that the staff would have pointed them out, because I would have liked to try them and I'm not sure if or when I'll be back.

They have both indoor and outdoor seating but it was still a little chilly to be outside. We were given both the lunch special menu as well as the regular dinner menu. I ordered the Salmon Curry which was salmon with coconut masala sauce ($18.95) as well as a mango lassi ($5). The lunch special is a deal with the entree coming with rice, plain naan, two sides and dessert. The two sides were a soup and palak paneer. The dessert was kheer served in a plastic cup and lid. I was surprised by the amount of food and was thankful for all the fluffy naan that was included. Everything was so tasty. Service was warm and attentive. There's plenty of spacing between tables. They have one bathroom that was clean but watch out if you're using the hot water. They put up a sign warning people of the hot water being too hot. As soon as you open the door, you're greeted with all the wonderful spices used to prepare the food. Since it isn't listed on the menu, you can BYO for a corkage of just $15 per 750ml, probably one of the cheapest in the county. We had a variety of dishes and overall the food was well prepared and tasty, though we all favored some dishes over others. The samosas were excellent - the filling was delicious and pairing it with the two chutneys just elevated it. The only minor complaint is that the samosa wrapper was quite thick and pretty hard/crunchy in places - I think it would be better if the seams were rolled thinner so when they joined up, they wouldn't be too thick. The momos were just okay - I probably wouldn't order those again. The meat filling was tasty, but the momo wrappers were so soggy from steaming that they immediately fell apart. There was also no sauce whereas I'm used to momos being served with a spicy tomato chutney. We ordered multiple main dishes and I won't go into every single one, but each was tasty. The curries were flavorful with a perfect balance of spice and their buttered naan was to die for! Overall, we had a great dinner!
