We had family in town for a week and we went out to eat a handful of times. On the last evening, I asked what everyone's favorite meals were and Everest came out on top! I had called to see if they would be open on July 4th, and they actually called me a few hours later after checking with the owner and they confirmed, yes they would be open regular hours. We headed over at noon for their buffet lunch. Raj (Raz?), was our amazing server. He definitely raised the bar. He is most positive, friendly and conscientious He keeps an eye on all the diners, removing plates, replacing water for the table with a new chilled bottle, and he keeps a close eye on all the buffet items and communicates with the chef when something needs replenishing. The food is, therefore, hot, fresh and incredibly delicious. The one thing we really appreciated is they offer brown and white rice. We much prefer brown rice so that was another positive along with fresh greens. They provide the table with a huge order of fresh naan bread when you first sit down too. The buffet items were prepared with much love and care and all six of us had the most wonderful meal. The interior is clean and inviting. Our server quickly cleaned tables as soon as a guest left so the place looked orderly and inviting. I give big kudos to our sweet server who played a major role in the five star rating. I have been dining at Indian buffets for 30 years, Everest in Cotati is by far the best I have ever experienced, I have been a vegetarian for the same amount of time and have dined with friends/family who are not vegetarians and they also love it. I have to mention the young man (21 years old) Raj, is so polite and professional, he greets you when you enter, comes to your table several times to see if you need anything, a total gentleman. Great food, great service. Everything tasted fresh and on point. We started with a mixed platter and then each ordered something separate. I had the Chicken Tandoori, which was tasty and plentiful. Our server provided great recommendations. If you like it hot, you can request sauce on the side. Been here a few times, and it's always delicious! I'm especially in love with the pizzas as the flavors are amazing with melty cheese~! First time trying Thakali Thali here, and it can feed 2 hungry people or 3 with small appetites. I ordered it with Saag Paneer, and it's very good. Highly recommend if you want something to share. Delicious buffet, cozy space and friendly service. Sometimes buffets are super overwhelming in the number of dishes. Theirs has enough choice to make a great vegetarian or meat Thali plate with papadum and naan and soup. I was also offered a refill on my cup of chai, not often available. My server Raj, was a sweetheart and the vibe overall was relaxed, homey and yet nice enough for a casual date. It's just a strip mall place but nicely done. I love this place. We were so excited to hear that this was coming to Cotati, we were there for opening day and just keep showing up because everything here is so great. By far my favorite thing is the vegetable thali, with all the selection of various items, it keeps your taste buds entertained. I love also their curries, they are well spiced and the shahi paneer is absolutely not to be missed. Service is fast, friendly and orders are always accurate. The quality of the ingredients of the dishes is high, spices are perfect, and portions are large - I always have leftovers for tomorrow which is great. I love this place. The only downside is the parking here which they have no control over, this parking lot is a hectic disaster but if you're willing to walk, it's all free. I hope they are wildly successful! I'll keep coming here because we are huge fans :) read more

I'm sorry that I didn't post any pictures except for my leftovers. I forgot while I was there. My niece had come from Tacoma and we got to talk in and I totally forgot to do my review and take pictures, but I'm doing it now. We had the Everest Samosa Chat: which is: Samosa served on the bed of spiced chick peas & topped with chutneys. It was absolutely delicious. We also split samosas. My niece had the butter chicken and I had the chicken vindaloo. They were both awesome and very flavorful. I got a little taste of hers. We ordered the medium spicy, but it could've been spicier. Next time I'll order the very spicy my sister got the chef special salad which looked very good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed for quite a while talking even after our meal was done and they were fine with that. The place was small, but very pleasant. I would highly recommend going here. read more

Comfortable table, good service. Not too noisy but acoustically able to handle an almost full house without echoing. Everyone at all the tables seemed happy and satisfied. Menu delightful: lots of variety! Lamb, shrimp, chicken, veggie and vegan dishes in all styles- vindaloo, curry, soups, fried- and all delicious! spiciness adjusted for your taste- we got medium, but will get hotter next time for our own taste. Our meal was Vegetable Pakora - nice and flavorful; Lamb Saag [lamb with spinach in sauce; Shrimp Curry [shrimp, crisp veggies, in delish sauce]; and Garlic Naan freshly risen and hot from the cooker. Basmati rice filled in nicely. Just enough left-over for yummy lunch tomorrow. Altogether a pleasure. We arrived around 2pm on Tuesday. I had high hopes based on the reviews, but my experience was different. FOOD: I had the buffet. The selection IMO was a bit small, not terrible, but not a lot of a selection. What was bad was the food temperature - it was just warm... barely warm. Usually at a buffet I'm good for 2 trips, but there was no need to seconds for me. My friend who joined me didn't even finish all of his food. SERVICE: The Server was attentive and pleasant. I was in the area and decided to try this restaurant because I frequent what I thought was a sister restaurant closer to where I live that shares the same name. Wow!!....was I wrong. The two restaurants are not related and I found that there are four restaurants that have that same name and all serve Nepalese/Indian cuisine. This Everest in Cotati will be my favorite "Go To" from now on and worth the extra time to drive to from my house. The food is outstanding as well as the service staff and interior of the restaurant that screams of friendliness and cleanliness. The Naan bread with garlic and basil was the best I have had, being buttery and moist while maintaining a crispness. The Chicken 65, was new to me and so delicious if you want to try a spicy sweet dish. The vegetable Momos appetizer was filled with fresh cooked vegetables you could actually see and not a filly mined filling as I am accustomed to. Yes I am gonna bring up the butter chicken that butter chicken is heaven made manifest. It's nice to have an Indian/nepalese chain nearby that I genuinely think is pretty good. Everest eclipses some places even in the city. Their service is always nice and it's cool to have a complimentary lentil soup. The only reason I can't rate it higher is that the prices are asinine for their portions. You're served most things family style, but the family style bowls are about enough for a date between two people. Also the spice levels are almost undetectable. Even if you ask for hot it's sort of meh. Perhaps the waiters are protecting me. read more

The photo does not do it justice! My fiancé went in to pick up our order and the gentleman there was beyond kind to give him a bowl of delicious lentil soup while he waited. We got the chicken tikka masala and garlic naan and we were not disappointed. It was delicious and flavorful with perfectly cooked chicken and rice. The sauce was perfectly balanced the portions were large and left us both with no complaints! We cannot wait to go back and try other things. I've been meaning to give this place a review. We've been coming here since it opened, several months ago. We really love it (and we are sticklers for good indian food). We come almost once a week. We always order the same dishes. We get chicken tika kabob, chicken korma, brown rice and one order of Tibetan bread. The tika kabob are HUGE chunks of white meat chicken on a sizzling platter with onions , peppers, and broccoli. Its served with a lemon wedge that you squeeze on the chicken. So delicious! The korma is rich and just slightly spicy( we ask for medium). The Tibetan bread is a treat, almost like a savory doughnut, perfect for dipping in the korma sauce. Its very different from the traditional nan , I suggest you try it sometime. The portions are very satisfying, we always have food to take home for lunch the next day. The service is really excellent, they treat us like family since we are regulars. We had a couple of problems, and they always made it right. We have tried almost every local Indian restaurant, from Tumeric(terrible), to namaste( pretty good), but you cant beat Everest for the best Indian restaurant experience around. I suggest you give this place a try, and don't forget the Tibetan bread!! read more
