    Butter Chicken Fries!
    Juan M.

5 Star Food; 3 Star Ambiance/ Service If you are a fan of Chili Fries then you are going to love Masala Express' Butter Chicken Fries. The fries had perfect texture & flavor, the curry was finger licking good, the plentiful chicken had great texture & the mint sauce & chopped cilantro elevated it to legend status. They give you a choice of mild, medium or spicy... I like spicy but by the end of the bowl I was sweating a little... might go medium next time. Just be warned the mood is a little depressed, tables & floors could be a bit more cleaned. The service was perfectly adequate there was just a little vibe like the family isn't super happy etc., But if you can look past the buzz kill the food is delectable.

I ordered take out to go over the phone and was told "10 minutes". When I arrived to pick up, everything was packaged nicely. Arrived home and the food was still piping HOT. Everything looked and tasted fresh from the naan, rice, tiki chicken masala, chicken Tikka kebab and vegetable curry. For the price, I felt the portions were a bit on the smaller side. Otherwise, the taste, the quickness of the order "express" and the food is actually good! Give it a try!

We were in the neighborhood and wanted to try a new restaurant. Yelp led us to this relatively new place right next to the Airport Stadium cinemas in Windsor. You can see their burgundy umbrellas outside. I haven't dined at too many Indian restaurants so I asked the employee at the counter what she recommended. She named a few popular dishes but I was in the mood for curry so I asked about the chicken curry. Without hesitation, she recommended the chicken coconut curry. She said it's a favorite if I like chicken curry. We also ordered the Masala Express Thali and she said customers like their garlic naan too so we added that to our order. Orders are placed at the counter and if you need something, just ask at the counter. My chicken coconut curry was incredible. It was creamy and perfectly spiced, I had asked for mild/medium spiciness. The white rice was flaky and went well with the curry. The garlic naan was a generous portion and oh my, amazing! My husband's sampler came in three little metal bowls (2 veggie and one chicken tikka masala). His order came with white rice and plain naan. They serve vegetarian meals and a nice assortment of Tandoori bread. The butter chicken fries caught my husband's attention so we will give that a try next time. Well, here we are again! Brought our daughter with us the second time. My husband and I ordered the coconut chicken curry and garlic naan and daughter ordered the saag paneer. We also ordered the butter chicken fries this time. These fries are a heartier side dish. Our daughter enjoyed her saag paneer. She orders it whenever she tries a new Indian restaurant. The interior is spacious and tables are spaced well apart. There is a TV showing how some of their dishes are prepared. They have a large outside patio with several umbrellas covering the entire dining area. If you want a quick bite in an informal setting, give them a try! The one recommendation I have is I wish they could wipe the tables after the customers leave. The dirty dishes are picked up but tables were not wiped down both times we were there.

Oh my god how fortunate I am to live across from this place. When I don't wanna cook after work this is a MUST I get the regular butter chicken garlic naan and level 2 chicken biryani. So creamy and cozy. If you haven't tried Indian food you really need to give this spot a chance. I have yet to sit in person but it looks roomy inside. There's a lady who answers usuallly... she is thrasher to the point in orders. Sometimes she's a little off putting but I don't think she means to be rude. Maybe just busy

We went here for lunch. It's good! Food is ordered at the counter and delivered to your table. The food comes out really quick! Nice especially since we are just on our lunch break. We had the butter chicken. It was tasty. It didn't have the depth of flavor that I'm use to but it was still really good. If you're in the mood for some good Indian food, and are a little short on time, this place is a solid option.

We absolutely loved it! Clean, quick, tasty and beautiful murals on the wall. There isn't much out by the airport but this is now where we plan to eat dinner whenever we go to the movies. We just loved it! The garlic naan was a stand out but it was all amazing! Rice is extra.

I ordered a CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA and Naan bread. The restaurant was clean and well lit. The meal came out quickly as was hot. The Tikka Masala looked like a small portion, but ended up with lots of chicken and was very tasty. The Naan bread was enormous. I mean it was a lot! I only used about a 1/4 or 1/3 to sop up the yummy sauce. Everything was good. I ended up taking the rest of the Naan bread home and enjoyed it re-heated. Nice place with a casual atmosphere.

Lately though, they expanded their menu, and holy moly, I had to write this review. They might have changed ownership too? Not sure, but something is definitely different. Generally, the food has always been good, but yesterday, our socks were knocked off by the tastiness of our meal here. First off: They now have deep fried momo's. And holy cow. We've had their steamed momo's which are good, but these deep fried ones are everything you want them to be. Crunchy on the outside and the chicken on the inside has a curry spice to it. It was a little on the salty side, but it didn't deter too much. The curry dipping sauce is also incredible. We also had a baigan bartha (eggplant) and chicken korma - both were way excellent! I feel like they really up'd the game. The chicken korma was so flavorful, even more so than before. I hadn't gotten the baigan bartha from here in a long time, but it was pretty awesome. Likely, they up'd the butter and cream... that's usually how it goes. But I dunno... maybe not just that, there's more complexity to the food. Anyhow, it was amazing. The service here is a little toned down, but not bad. You get the feeling that the workers / owners are pretty new here to the US... which takes me to the strange experience I had early on... On our 2nd time there, we asked for glasses of water, and what they brought out was incredibly hot water in water glasses. It was boiling hot. My husband asked if they could cool bring us cold water, and they were not super happy about that request, but they tried to do it. They came back with less hot water, but still warm. It was weird. You're eating spicy indian food, you want some cold water to cool you down. Anyhow, not sure if there was something going on with their water system, or what. But they were not very communicative, which makes me think perhaps they are new to the US. No judgement - coming from an Asian American myself. Anyhow, nothing weird like that happened afterwards, (they give you cold water) but I do sometimes deter from coming here because it's slightly hole-in-the-wall-ish. The lights are dim, making it feel a bit dingy. I hate to say it but as I get older, I just am less excited about hole-in-the-wall places, even though I loved them when I was younger. Now, I just want to eat in a nice enviornment. Either way, the food is great, and also not too expensive. So, we will continue to come. How can we not get those fried momo's!!!

Thinking of Mediterranean or Indian, Yelp! offered Himalayan Momo & Kebob ... just a few minutes away from Rohnert Park. As a food court choice among 8 others, I was reasonably satisfied with my "Regular Plate.". Rice, chickpea curry, chicken tikka kebob, and naan for a little less than $14. The chicken tikka was an excellent choice. The piece of chicken was cut into cubes and crisped in a frying pan -- very flavorful with just a touch of "heat". The rest of the meal was passable for mall food. The turmeric-colored basmati rice was a bit off the mark for Indian rice ... it had a few bits of cumin, but definitely lacked the cardamom, cloves, and cinnamon I spice my rice with, and sauteed onions were completely missing in action. The portion was almost 1.5 cups. The chickpea curry was a good choice, but if I had to guess, I'm pretty sure the chickpeas came out of a can. The portion was on the small side ... about 1/3 cup. The warm, foil-wrapped naan was tasty, albeit a little chewy, but understandable since the mall/food court wasn't busy for a Thursday close to 6 pm. I almost ordered a side of raita, but I turned down a 3-oz portion cup at $2.99. Good thing! The server gave me a 1-oz portion as a sample, and it was the saddest excuse for raita. It was so watery that it wouldn't even cling to a piece of chicken tikka. I couldn't give 3.5-stars, which is what I would actually rate my meal, but I didn't want to shortchange them either by giving only a 3-star review. Would I return? If I lived in the area, probably. There are a couple of other good choices in the food court that I would try first.
