I came to an event where there was a momo man truck serving guests. I tried the chilli momo dumplings $17 and it was very good. The seasoning was in fact pretty spicy but nothing crazy. They seemed a little overcooked and you really only got a small amount for $17 (maybe a small thing of white rice would actually make this more filling as I was still hungry after). The service was relatively fast and I hope to try the chicken tikki masala next time.

I saw a cute meditating dumpling on the side of a food truck and found out it was Momo Man! What a cute name! I knew I had to come back to have some lunch one of these days. I tried coming back the following week at 1pm (when they open) but the truck was not there :( I waited and on the third week, I called to make sure they were there and opened before I placed an online order for pick up. I ordered 2 tikka masala entrees (chicken, rice, side salad) with 2 mango lassi and an order of the veggie momos. The momos were hot, steamy, a bit spicy but so full of spice and flavor. Oh did I mention juicy as well! Just pop em in your mouth good! The lunch entrees was a bit on the smaller side though if you love curry chicken it's a good choice! Mango lassi was not overly sweet, prices are fair. I would come back again! PS: they are located in the parking lot of Santa Rosa food & liquor on Santa Rosa ave.

Although, I must have been looking at an older image of a menu on Yelp because vegan options were limited. But they existed. I ordered a vegetable pakora and a vegetable curry. I was asked what level heat from 1 to 5. I said 4 because I like a little inferno in my mouth. And the heat level 4 was a negative 6 for me. So next time, I'll ask for level 12.4. Now, I know I'm a white girl but this girl and take some scorch. I was a little disappointed in the heat level being so low. My vegetable pakora was well done (pics). I was also the only person in the dining room on a Sunday night. Maybe the cook had to check a text and forgot about the well done pakora in the fryer. I'd consider giving them another try but would give another place a go first. I'm obsessed just with Indian food and love it so much. My favorite place is in Windsor on the green. Its just a trek for me.

I tend to like a little bit of spicy, so I like that option. This was my first time getting the veggie appetizer assortment, loved it all. As for the momos, also delicious! They came with so many in the order too which I didn't expect. It's all decently priced out and the pick ups are always smooth! Big fan of Cumin:)

It was a Friday night, and apparently, they have live music several nights a week! It wasn't amplified, or if it was, it was still provided a great dining atmosphere - not too loud, but I could tell the guy playing was really enjoying himself! We ordered an assortment. I always love Chicken Tikka Masala - I consider it the test of a good Indian restaurant. We got the Allo Gobi - a cauliflower and potato dish, as well as some of their lemon rice. I had never seen that before so we had to try it. We also had a Paneer dish with onions and peppers. Everything was fantastic! So fresh and flavorful, and absolutely packed with spiced! My partner said she thought it was the best we have ever had! We enjoyed everything, and the service was very friendly and personal. We spoke with someone who may have been the owner, who informed us that the food was from Punjab - far Northern India. We had a great meal, and felt like we made new friends as well. I ordered a CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA and Naan bread. The restaurant was clean and well lit. The meal came out quickly as was hot. The Tikka Masala looked like a small portion, but ended up with lots of chicken and was very tasty. The Naan bread was enormous. I mean it was a lot! I only used about a 1/4 or 1/3 to sop up the yummy sauce. Everything was good. I ended up taking the rest of the Naan bread home and enjoyed it re-heated. Nice place with a casual atmosphere.

Lately though, they expanded their menu, and holy moly, I had to write this review. They might have changed ownership too? Not sure, but something is definitely different. Generally, the food has always been good, but yesterday, our socks were knocked off by the tastiness of our meal here. First off: They now have deep fried momo's. And holy cow. We've had their steamed momo's which are good, but these deep fried ones are everything you want them to be. Crunchy on the outside and the chicken on the inside has a curry spice to it. It was a little on the salty side, but it didn't deter too much. The curry dipping sauce is also incredible. We also had a baigan bartha (eggplant) and chicken korma - both were way excellent! I feel like they really up'd the game. The chicken korma was so flavorful, even more so than before. I hadn't gotten the baigan bartha from here in a long time, but it was pretty awesome. Likely, they up'd the butter and cream... that's usually how it goes. But I dunno... maybe not just that, there's more complexity to the food. Anyhow, it was amazing. The service here is a little toned down, but not bad. You get the feeling that the workers / owners are pretty new here to the US... which takes me to the strange experience I had early on... On our 2nd time there, we asked for glasses of water, and what they brought out was incredibly hot water in water glasses. It was boiling hot. My husband asked if they could cool bring us cold water, and they were not super happy about that request, but they tried to do it. They came back with less hot water, but still warm. It was weird. You're eating spicy indian food, you want some cold water to cool you down. Anyhow, not sure if there was something going on with their water system, or what. But they were not very communicative, which makes me think perhaps they are new to the US. No judgement - coming from an Asian American myself. Anyhow, nothing weird like that happened afterwards, (they give you cold water) but I do sometimes deter from coming here because it's slightly hole-in-the-wall-ish. The lights are dim, making it feel a bit dingy. I hate to say it but as I get older, I just am less excited about hole-in-the-wall places, even though I loved them when I was younger. Now, I just want to eat in a nice enviornment. Either way, the food is great, and also not too expensive. So, we will continue to come. How can we not get those fried momo's!!!

Thinking of Mediterranean or Indian, Yelp! offered Himalayan Momo & Kebob ... just a few minutes away from Rohnert Park. As a food court choice among 8 others, I was reasonably satisfied with my "Regular Plate.". Rice, chickpea curry, chicken tikka kebob, and naan for a little less than $14. The chicken tikka was an excellent choice. The piece of chicken was cut into cubes and crisped in a frying pan -- very flavorful with just a touch of "heat". The rest of the meal was passable for mall food. The turmeric-colored basmati rice was a bit off the mark for Indian rice ... it had a few bits of cumin, but definitely lacked the cardamom, cloves, and cinnamon I spice my rice with, and sauteed onions were completely missing in action. The portion was almost 1.5 cups. The chickpea curry was a good choice, but if I had to guess, I'm pretty sure the chickpeas came out of a can. The portion was on the small side ... about 1/3 cup. The warm, foil-wrapped naan was tasty, albeit a little chewy, but understandable since the mall/food court wasn't busy for a Thursday close to 6 pm. I almost ordered a side of raita, but I turned down a 3-oz portion cup at $2.99. Good thing! The server gave me a 1-oz portion as a sample, and it was the saddest excuse for raita. It was so watery that it wouldn't even cling to a piece of chicken tikka. I couldn't give 3.5-stars, which is what I would actually rate my meal, but I didn't want to shortchange them either by giving only a 3-star review. Would I return? If I lived in the area, probably. There are a couple of other good choices in the food court that I would try first.

Don't let the humble setting fool you because once you walk in you are in for an exceptional experience. The food here is absolutely phenomenal. Probably a five or six minute walk from the plaza. The star of the dinner for me was the "Malai Kofta - Vegetable dumpling cooked in creamy tomato, onion sauce, cashew & Indian spices." Already thinking about the next visit, just for this dish. But really every thing from the sample soup we received (how nice), the vegetable pakora's to start and the papadam's which I just love. Also had the Palak Paneer which again was yummy. They have a spice rating and we went with the two peppers (mild/medium) and for me this was perfect. If you want medium (3 peppers) or more, I wish you good eating .
