You have a choice of basmati or brown rice, lamb or chicken curry and it comes with a naan, mustard green (my favorite since I was a kid!) and my favorite too :) rice pudding. The portion was enough for make you want o get a pillow and zzzzzzz- so happy :) my tummy and me. Juan ordered rice and chicken curry, oh so delicious. Both curries were medium heat, just the right amount of heat as we requested. To wash it down I had masala chai- oh yeah, a must. Go here, you won't be disappointed. Fresh food and delicious. I thought I had good Indian/Himalayan food...until I went to Namaste. Compared to Namaste, every other place pales in comparison. I've been a patron of this place for a year now and it's consistently delicious with high quality food and excellent service both in person and take away. Of note, the lam is always tender, which is hard to do, and the spice is always giving!! I like spicy and they don't hold back when requested!! The last time I had spicy like this was in the country of Bhutan!! I LOOOOOVE their samosas (flavorful potatos wrapped in a flakey crust coated in fine salt is out of this world), Baigan Bhartha (tender spicy eggplant), chicken apricot (I dig sweet and savory with a kick), vegetable curry and lamb tikka masala. Sometimes I go for medium spice and other times extra spicy. I'm a person who tends to order something different to taste the menu but it's been hard to do when they make the first thing you order epic! My friend took me to Namaste for lunch! What a delight it was. It's a small casual restaurant located in Sebastopol. The food was absolutely delicious! Fresh, organic ingredients. Bright and vibrant vegetables. Everything was cooked perfectly. I've never experienced a crispy Naan but it was some of the best Naan I've ever had. The cucumber salad was fresh and delicious- I could eat it everyday (cucumber, avocado, basil). The chicken korma was cooked perfectly- mild and tasty. My friend enjoyed her lamb curry. We ordered jasmine rice (cooked perfectly). The service was excellent! Everyone on the team was friendly and hospitable. They have a small parking lot and there's additional parking on the street. They have a few tables outside, primary seating inside. I highly recommend Namaste! Try it, you'll be glad you did! read more

Service was great, they were very attentive. We were starving so i almost forgot to take pictures. But the food was good overall. We got butter chicken, tandoori green chicken boti combo with salmon tandoori, coco curry veggies and garlic naan. We also got a plane basmati ride and a saffron rice; it was way too much rice overall for three people. The green chicken boti from the tandoori oven was my favorite, really yummy with herbs smashed into it. The salmon was fresh but not as smoky toasty as i wanted it to be, and the onion pepper that comes on the sizzling pan with tandoori were plentiful but not charred enough on the cast iron (i like a little charring). The butter chicken was rich, highly flavored and satisfying. The coco curry veggies were just ok. Veggies were fresh but coco sauce just a little too simplistic and coconutty for me; it was my least favorite for the sauce. They start you off with tasty crisp papadum crackers and a sweet tamarind sauce. We asked for mint spicy sauce and we got some; very tasty and homemade. It was a nice mint sauce and definitely not too thin or watered down like I've had in some places that seemed to be trying to make their food more palatable to folks who can't handle flavor n spice. But no this was tasty. Indian restaurants should keep it authentic! The garlic naan was a nice thin style that made it get perfectly crisp on edges, but softer inside. My mom had a tasty glass of Sauvignon blanc; I'm pretty sure it was from New Zealand with its zesty tropical passionfruit/ grapefruit nuances. We like things spicy but still want to taste other flavors, and ordered everything medium hot which seemed to be perfect. read more

Before going inside for the first time I could tell this was a good restaurant based on the full restaurant parking lot. The second sign of a great restaurant is the time it takes to make a food choice as everything looks so good. We thoroughly enjoyed the spicy lamb tikki masala over brown rice wrapped in garlic naan. We've been here twice and both times have been delicious. The staff is so sweet, the portions seem small but actually fill you up so fast (and we can eat!).. We've tried the butter chicken, chicken apricot, lamb momo, all the tandoori dishes, and the chicken boti. The tulsi naan was so flavorful and such a good match the all the dishes. BRILLIANT, FLAVORFUL, DELICIOUSNESS! I wake up craving the kale pakora here, and I have even tried to duplicate it at home. The food here is perfection! It's also extremely vegetarian and vegan friendly. I only wish they would make that green sauce vegan style! So good--you cannot go wrong here as this place is one of Sebastopol's culinary jewels. My first time visit and I couldn't have been more pleased. We ordered the namaste lamb curry medium and countered it with the cabbage and peas mild to counter the spiciness of the lamb. It was a perfect combination and each delightfully different taste from the usual Indian food. We ended with the homemade mango ice cream which was quite delicious. I was not impressed for a $60 lunch and we shared 1 appetizer and 1 entree. Stomach ache afterwords. Lamb was tough and smothered in paprika and not flavorful. Excellent Indian food, as usual, provided by Nepali/Tibetan establishment. We sat outside on the covered patio (currently Covid is surging) and enjoyed it. Finally had the chance to visit. I was with vegans so it wasn't the whole experience for me. Place is nice and busy. We ordered anything vegan. I love things super spicy but guests can't handle it, so everything was set to low. The food was good. I didn't go home with a woody, but will try again alone next time. I had ordered take out from this local restaurant as I recoup from surgery. I have been wanting to try them out for years, then the pandemic stalled that. I ordered the chicken pumpkin curry with garlic naan and a salad. The curry was very flavourful and the spices were much more intense than regular Himalayan curry that I've had before. I understand that the intensity is due to the dish being southern Indian from a friend. I will have to come back when I can sit and enjoy more dishes from this local restaurant. Made a Saturday evening trip to Sebastopol for dinner at Namaste. Walked in at reserved time and were immediately seated. The tables were full otherwise. The restaurant has a very small wine list, modestly priced, but with nice selections, albeit without vintage year. We chose a 2018 Navarro Vineyards Pinot Noir from Anderson Valley Mendocino to accompany our dinner choices. When we go to an Indian Restaurant, we always share so we order four or five dishes, knowing we will have leftovers for the next day. This evening we started with potato and pea Samosas, then picked 5 dishes to share: Namaste Fish Curry with salmon, Mattar Paneer with peas and Indian cottage cheese, Baingan Bharta eggplant curry, Malai Kofta, Dal Makhani curry, and Garlic Naan and brown rice. I recently had dinner here after being a customer for years. Food and service was great as always. What was not great about my experience was being price gouged on rice which used to come with the entree. Additionally, they now charge for refills of fountain drinks. I had iced tea which by the way tasted like it was made from hard water rich in sulfur. It had a swamp water taste to it. When I brought up my objection to charging for refills I was told they brew it themselves. There is no way this was fresh brewed the way it tasted. This was fountain iced tea and I am embarrassed I asked for a refill in the first place. From the appearance of the empty dining room they have alienated their loyal customers who Namaste regards as fat pigs to stick knives in. As for me I won't be back. The taste of a bad deal lasts much longer than the meal itself. read more

Food is good, service from the server is ok. But the policy of charging top dollar for small portions of food and the on top of that charging for rice, and refills of tea. Is unacceptable. I was so relieved to know I could still enjoy their authentic curries & be around the warm energy the family shares in their eating establishment. It's an improvement on Marigold. Shortly after they opened, I dropped by to try one of the lunch specials which consist of: main dish, rice, naan, two vegetable pakoras with chutneys, and dal soup. For my main dish, I chose coconut vegetable korma. Flavors were pleasant and veggies were well-cooked. My only gripe--and this is one of the main problems with local Indian/Nepalese places--is that, although I had ordered it medium spicy, there was no heat whatsoever. Even the physical temperature was lower than it should have been. Veggie pakoras were on the small side, but fresh and tasty. I love that they include them with lunch specials. Chutneys were spot on. I was pretty disappointed in the naan that came on my plate; it was dry and in an exceedingly small portion. There was also an odd aftertaste... like it had been dusted in some unknown spice. Since the bread is one of my favorite parts of any meal, I promptly requested an extra order of butter naan. I'm glad I did because it was a huge improvement on the other stuff--large, fluffy, buttery, and no mysterious spice component. I suspect the first naan was the vegan option. Kudos for including it on the menu, but it wasn't for me. My server was personable and helpful--a huge upgrade from those who worked at Marigold. Prices, also, are very fair. Overall, not a bad experience, but not great either. They're still new, though, so I may give them another shot in a few months. read more

Picked up takeout tonight for dinner with friends who don't consider themselves real fans of Indian type food. We shared chicken tandoori, saag paneer, coconut curry, momos, samosas, jasmine rice, raita, and onion kulcha. My friends couldn't get over how delicious and beautifully prepared everything was. For example, the tandoori included broccoli, cauliflower, and onions from the tandoori oven. Portions were generous and packed in compostable containers. Ignore the mean spirited reviews. Restaurants are having a very rough go of it. We need to support small businesses like Namaste Kitchen that are making a real effort to keep the quality of their food high and prices reasonable in very challenging times.
