It's been a few years since I last ate at Fire Wings and we stopped in with some friends this past weekend for a catch up and some wings. We shared the 20-pack family meal, which came with 20 wings, 3 flavors, 1 large fries, and 2 dips. We added some mozzarella sticks and fountain drinks. Ordered on the kiosk and the food was ready in about 15 minutes. For the wing flavors, we got the salt and pepper bone-in, regular buffalo boneless and mango habanero boneless. My favorite of them all was easily the salt and pepper. The jalapeno and onion garnish just takes it over the top for me. 10/10 would order every time. The fries and mozzarella sticks were just alright though. While the wings came out hot, the mozz sticks and fries were room temperature, with the fries being a bit floppy. I like the concept of this place: LOTS of different flavors, fast & easy service, bar-like atmosphere. But.....the star of the show, the fried chicken, isn't great. We got extra crispy and the outside was just that, but it was dry and lacked any flavor on the inside. They need to be preseasoned with some base. Out of the 3 flavors we tried, Saigon Street was the best but needed MORE sauce. Lemon Pepper was surprisingly good and paired nicely with our dips. The Malaysian Curry Rub.....absolutely no flavor haha. It was like a bit of paprika and not even salty. On top of everything, I think the wings are pretty expensive (over $1/wing for TINY wings is crazy). I've been to quite a few different fire wing locations.... It's literally one of my favorite restaurants, I would recommend it to anyone and everyone HOWEVER this location..... is not it. Got my garlic noodles, like totally dry. They put a little bit of the parm on the top it covered a couple noodles, 95% of the noodles were bone dry. If I could give it 0 stars I would. I place an online order for two combos. I specified I wanted EXTRA CRISPY WING, and the fries with cheese. I even called them to ask that the wings be made crispy. Wings were undercooked, all of them. Fries came with CHILLI. Not what I ordered. I immediately called the store and spoke to a girl who said I needed to send photos. I sent photos of the uncooked wings and the fries that were made incorrectly. Was told she would call me back and never did. I was told the manager would Review the photos and they would make their decision. After "reviewing" the photos, the owner I assume Gabriel, said the wings were cooked correctly which is NOT THE TRUTH. I asked for a refund, he didn't even acknowledge the fries made incorrectly. He said he'd refund me 1 meal when I threw away all the wings. And didn't eat the fries because they had chilli. Absolutely the worst customer service. NEVER GOING BACK TO THAT PLACE. I'll stick to Wingstop! Never had an issue there. This was the first AND last time I go there. I have taken this matter up with my CC company, I'll be getting a refund regardless of Gabriel's lack of customer retention. DO NOT EAT THE FOOD HERE UNLESS YOU LIKE UNCOOKED FOOD. Honestly, we were expecting more of a fine dining or restaurant-style ambiance, so we were pretty surprised to find it felt more like a fast food chain.
