This was my first time trying Fire Wings -- and man, was it fire! We came on a Wednesday for their Wing Wednesday deal: bone-in wings for just 95 cents each. There's a 10-wing minimum, but that's easy to hit, especially for groups. They offer combos (6/8/10 wings with 1-2 flavors) or bulk by the piece (10/20/40/60/100 wings). We went for 10 wings per flavor for 40 total which was perfect for our super hungry crew. - Dragon Wings -- thick, sweet glaze with a salty-tangy kick; garnished with green onions; bold Asian-style flavor; my #2 pick - Buffalo Wings -- classic tangy red-orange sauce; not my personal favorite, but a solid American-style wing - Lemon Pepper Wings -- dry rub with bright lemon zest and a bold but subtle seasoning; especially good with dips - Salt & Pepper Wings -- packed with seasoning and extra jalapeños; bolder than the typical Cantonese version; my favorite flavor of the night (#1) - Garlic Noodles -- al dente, bouncy, drier-style noodles with parmesan and herbs; a go-to Fire Wings side - Fries -- seasoned, crispy, and on the thicker side; classic and satisfying We sat outdoors on their patio in downtown San Mateo, which closes some streets to create a lovely pedestrian zone. It was peaceful, great for people-watching, and a perfect spot to feast. The inside had a spacious, sports bar-like vibe with TVs and plenty of tables. Service was kind & fast as we quickly got our wings & sides. Overall, the experience was excellent: tasty wings, generous portions, and unbeatable value on Wednesdays. If you're into wings, Fire Wings is definitely worth checking out, especially with friends.

I like the concept of this place: LOTS of different flavors, fast & easy service, bar-like atmosphere. But.....the star of the show, the fried chicken, isn't great. We got extra crispy and the outside was just that, but it was dry and lacked any flavor on the inside. They need to be preseasoned with some base. Out of the 3 flavors we tried, Saigon Street was the best but needed MORE sauce. Lemon Pepper was surprisingly good and paired nicely with our dips. The Malaysian Curry Rub.....absolutely no flavor haha. It was like a bit of paprika and not even salty. On top of everything, I think the wings are pretty expensive (over $1/wing for TINY wings is crazy). I MIGHT come back on Mondays when they have a 90-something cents/wing deal....but I'd probably be better off just eating regular fried chicken at a fast food chain tbh.

The FRIES are soooo good fresh I'd even put them up against five guys fries and burger king fries IYKYK. The staff was very friendly. I ate inside and was able to watch the game. It's definitely a nice little spot you can sit and chat at. Try the Asian flavors that's what fire wings is known for. I personally like dragon(unagi flavor) and the Saigon(fish sauce flavor). Both are sweet and savory. The Garlic parm is perfectly seasoned at Fire wings is not as salty as wing stop's.

The wings were savory, delicious, and cooked perfectly. The staff was friendly and welcoming, even though we ordered from the kiosk. The bathrooms were also clean, which is always a plus! However, while the fries were tasty, I wish they had been a bit warmer -- especially since we were dining in. It seemed like they might have been prepared before the wings.

The service and food here is deteriorating by day... there is no sauce at all.... Tastes disgusting...

This place is a great place to get a quick bite with a group or alone! I came on a Tuesday night for dinner with a friend and it was still crowded around 7:30pm. There were people eating inside and lots of people getting their orders to go. We ordered the 20 piece family meal which comes with 20 wings, veggies, 2 sauces, and either fries/garlic noodles. We ordered the dragon, lemon pepper, and teriyaki flavors. Dragon tasted like soy garlic. The lemon pepper was very good and teriyaki was teriyaki. My favorite was dragon flavor. The garlic noodles were very good and we also spent extra to get a side of fries. The veggies were carrots and celery. They didn't have their own sauce, but I used my wing sauce for it. I liked the flavor and by the time we finished we were so full. They had a large portion and the wings were decent size. Will definitely be back!

We came to this place hungry - but that's not the point. Honestly, we were expecting more of a fine dining or restaurant-style ambiance, so we were pretty surprised to find it felt more like a fast food chain. That said, we love trying different wing flavors, and wings are definitely our thing. We ordered three kinds: Thai Chili, Fire Wings, and Malaysian Curry Rub. We enjoyed all of them, but my heart stayed with the Fire Wings. We'll definitely be back when the wing cravings hit again - the goal is to try them all!

If you're in downtown San Mateo, you're spoiled with food options, but we decided on Fire Wings for something casual and quick. For the two of us, we ordered the 20 Pack to share. I was drawn to the Malaysian Curry Rub wings. I'm usually a fan of dry rubs over saucy wings, and this one didn't disappoint - it was packed with flavor and paired well with both the blue cheese and ranch dips. The service was fast, and the restaurant has plenty of seating with TVs showing various sports, making it a great spot to relax for a quick bite. If you're in the area and craving wings, Fire Wings is a solid choice!

First time here and was a good experience. The place is nice and clean, with a great atmosphere. Since the street is close to traffic, you can enjoy sitting outside. The customer service is excellent, the food arrives super quickly, and the wings are absolutely FIRE, visually appealing and packed with amazing flavor! Definitely coming back!

I've been to their locations in Vallejo, Fairfield, and Sac and I was craving some wings so here I am. I came in and ordered the 8 wings combo with rice substitute inside of fries. The two flavors I picked were salt and pepper and Thai chili. The food was solid. The service here was okay. Nothing too crazy. The inside of this restaurant has about 7 tables. Sometimes the parking can be difficult depending the time of the day. All in all a solid wing place to go to. Try it out if you like. :)

U order on a screen. I liked it better than wingstop. Best flavors were Dragon & Saigon Open to trying more next time :)

We recently went back and ordered the original, it's good, but the special is better imo, but also more expensive. 4. We found out the had bun Bo hue on weekends so we had to go back and try it out. My husband and I shared one bowl and a banh mi, we both thought it was one of the better bun Bo hue in the area, the chili paste was so delicious and spicy which was a plus! 5. I'm writing this review today because I was craving the bun Bo hue, so I called in my order and the owner told me it would take 25-30mins, whatever it was a Friday lunch, completely understandable. I timed my walk perfectly since I was only 2 blocks away, but when I started eating my food it wasn't even hot, so the food had already been sitting there for some time...what really set me off was the portion size...$19.95 is way too overpriced for the amount of noodle and meat that were given in the bowl...too bad we don't live in SoCal.

If I have to designate a "meibutsu" to Burlingame, it'd be Little Lucca. Came here on a random Tuesday after Memorial Day weekend, slightly after lunch and it was still PACKED to the brim. Super organized winding line and you can tell it's regulars who are grabbing lunches and who have already put in big orders through the phone. Local favorite and easily can see why. The specialty is their original garlic sauce from the 1980's and their comically huge sandwiches. The other must is to get their Dutch Crunch since it's a more unique bread that isn't commonly offered elsewhere. To be honest, this was the first time I've even heard of this bread. Also TRIGGER WARNING, skip over this part if you fear medical maladies or body horror, but the texture of this bread reminds me of scaled diabetic calves from my time working in the hospital. Disturbing random thought I had, but the sandwiches are delicious! Toasted to perfection, slathered in sauce, super huge. You can always build your own sandwich, but I'm no expert and it's always best to let the real sandwich artisans do their jobs. Cannot go wrong with their turkey sandwich if you like a Thanksgiving taste and Lucca Combo (anything with their titular title in the name, is a solid choice). Even after awhile, the sandwich was pretty good! If I have to stop by next time, I'll make sure to get another sandwich.
