My favorite restaurant in ALL of Florida. Restaurant is located in a strip mall. Unassuming outside, you will not be ready for the quality of foos you will be served here. Upscale , innovative chef never dissapoints. From appetizers, chef whims, regular menu to specials. Great wine selection. Attentive staff all around. It's a hidden gem in Vero Beach. I can't say enough good things about the place. read more

We consistently build our schedule to be here on our way south. Last night continued the tradition of exquisite food, wine and amazing people. I started with mushroom soup that was creamy and very flavorful. Wayne went for a seared tuna appetizer. For entrees I was so excited to enjoy Chef Chucks TV dinner special of wood fired Colorado white trout, a fried green tomato, broccoli & apple salad. Look at the pic and try NOT to drool! Wayne had duck breast and was really pleased with the flavor. We weren't going for dessert, but somehow it appeared and I think me may have licked the bowl. This is a place where you feel welcomed, it is warm and friendly. read more

This is a hole in the wall located in a Winn Dixie plaza, and there is simply a sign "diner" on the outside. This place is run by a fabulous duo- the Chef working in the open kitchen and Roger, the front man. Known for his friendliness and great Hawaiian shirt collection, he is a sweet character who always makes guests feel welcome the moment they enter. This place isn't big - it's a quaint, somewhat intimate, and bustling place. Their open kitchen has bar seating around it to sit at for the meal, and they have tables inside only. There are large chalkboards with handwritten specials for the day and it gets me excited to see what they've come up with for each visit! Sitting at the bar is wonderful - kind of like dinner and a show! But the tables are great too. They always have great options on their regular menu... the crispiest and most perfect french fries served with a side of cheese fondue for dipping. Heaven! Great filet, wonderful daily fish specials, and a truly wonderfully crafted Ahi Tuna appetizer that we love! They also start you with their homemade biscuits and holy shit are they yummy! Dessert is hard to be missed here because their creations are well executed and always enticing! Servers are wonderful, and we usually have Dave. He is super efficient, professional, and friendly. Service is always a 10/10 from the moment you enter this place! We'll continue to frequent this place, as it's truly one of our Vero Beach favorites! read more

I told my boyfriend I would take him to any restaurant on the treasure coast for his birthday. He chose Fire and Wine. The appetizers were big enough to be an entree. I had the tuna which was perfectly prepared! I was not impressed with the wasabi coleslaw, also the dijon accents competed with the slaw, not in a good way. Our entrees were just okay. The ambiance is uninspired. Wine list was unimpressive though I am no Sommelier, I simply love to drink. :D I was so excited to get dressed up for a date night. I love fine dining! This experience was middle of the road, in my opinion. You can trust me, I was in the business. ;D read more

You would never know a 5 star dining experience is waiting for you behind the door! We have found our new happy place! Ahi Tuna app served on a spicy slaw. So fresh , with just the right spank ! My husband loved it! My app was a Spanish style soup with chorizo & grilled monk fish ( I think ) super good . I had pork ribeye with Tuscan glaze. Pork cooked to perfection! my husband had the crab cake. Pimento cheese creamed spinach! Wow! Desserts? A must have. French toast bread pudding. Super!! Butterscotch tart was perfect! Sometimes butterscotch can be overpowering, this was not. Ending the meal with a cup of coffee from a local coffee roaster ( I think). Was strong with no bite at all. We sat at the chef's counter as it was the only reservation available. We had the best seat in the house. Watching the fluid movement of the 3 chefs was a symphony to the eyes! Can't wait to go back in the fall! Better than the 5 star restaurants where we are in New Jersey! read more

Food and service is clearly one of the best aspects of this restaurant! The quality is easily up there with the top restaurants of Indian River County and Vero Beach. A true hidden gem! Its located in an unassuming strip mall on the SW end of Vero Beach right on Oslo Rd. (I think an Aldi's market is replacing the Winn Dixie in same center soon.) its also next door to a small mexican restaurant. The ambiance inside is good too it feels European inside. We'll definitely be returning! read more

Wow! I'm speechless! Right here in little Vero Beach, off the beaten path, in an inconspicuous strip mall, south west of town, possibly the best restaurant in the county. More like restaurants found in the west village or on the upper east side of Manhattan, it's very untypical of the usual Florida beach establishments patronized by this season's flock of clubby oceanside snowbirds. Ambiance is bustling, warm, exciting. Food is over the top delicious! (Amazing Porcini mushroom, artichoke, dill with goat cheese soup!, lamb stroganoff to die for!, pan seared flounder perfection) Portions are large. Don't over order! Service is done by pros. Owner/manager is on site, engaged in every aspect of the operation, and very wine knowledgeable. Reservations (if you can get one) are a must! read more

This is one of the best meals I've ever had. Really a gem of a restaurant. I had the elk. Perfectly cooked, not gamy. Portions were bigger than my stomach could handle. I'll have to come back for desserts. The salmon appetizer was world class. Highly recommend. read more

One word....Superb! There is limited seating so highly recommend you make reservations in advance. They are open only for dinner on Tuesdays thru Saturdays from 5-9 pm. While the menu is limited, they offer additional nightly appetizer and entree specials, and the variety of choices is balanced. Entree prices range from about $28-$40. Complimentary biscuits arrive to the table after beverages have been served. They are homemade and tasty. We had the $18 tuna appetizer with a coleslaw and wasabi sauce mixture which had a lot of flavor. Our table also had the $12 escargot appetizer which was equally as good. One of us had the seared duck breast over cheese lasagna ($28) and the other had the Pastry Lump Crabcake with asparagus. Everything was seasoned and cooked to perfection. We were too full for desserts, but they do offer nice choices if you have room left to treat yourself. Service was excellent, and one of the Owners stopped by our table to say hello and check on our meals. It's nice to support locally owned restaurants and to have the owners onsite who genuinely enjoy interacting with those dining with them. We didn't know ahead of time, but if you opt to pay in cash, you will receive a 5% discount off your bill. Fire and Wine are doing everything right. read more

My fiancé and I were looking for a last minute adventure, and this place more than delivered. Fire and Wine created a delicious homemade pasta with seafood, the chef special TV dinner consisted of roast duck in a wine demi-glaze, sweet potato risotto and a side of spinach. Strawberry shortcake parfait and warm carrot cake bread pudding with praline cookies. BY FAR the best dinner we have enjoyed in years!! Tyler was our server and his knowledge of the local restaurant and the resources used to get and cook the deliciousness was over the top amazing!! Pricing is reasonable, the food & ambiance is priceless. read more

A hidden gem of a place in a surprising location. Generally speaking, restaurants located in a strip mall aren't known for their food but this place is solid. We were warmly greeted by the host (who may have been the owner) and the great service continued throughout the meal. We had the tuna appetizer, the shrimp pasta and the TV dinner. And while everything was good, the TV dinner with the trout (I think) was the star. The crème brûlée for dessert was ok as well, but to be fair, I'm not really a dessert person. Long story short, a good restaurant can exist in a strip mall next to a Winn Dixie. They are rare but they do exist. read more

Over salted, over-detailed, lacks simplicity. The entrees were confusing, loaded with salsa/compote, sauce, and too much salt. The chef would do well by simplifying his plate presentations. Less is more... too much on the plate. The specials I stopped listening after the first 3. The antipasto appetizer had Pâté with toasted white bread?!?....not good at all. read more

We went tonight for my husb b-day, 1st time we'd ever been. It's a great place, the gentleman where you check I. Remembered our daughter and husb, after he created husb/me so warm and genuine. The place is so nice, casual chic. Our server Dave was magical, took such good care of us and everyone else, amazing. Now the food...we had a culinary delight, beginning to end. Husb got the TV dinner if the day:trout, bay scallops, chow chow, spinach and beets (we ate his beets) loved it! The rest had the halibut special, so delicious: perfectly cooked fish and the potatoes, chippolines and carrots with the lemon dill butter sauce, magnificent. For apps we had the tuna sliced so thing on slaw and wontons, and calamari was not greasy the citing was mysteriously good like corn chips and the sauce a delight. We had a tantalizing white wine. Dessert was also incredible: white choc crème brûlée, upside down banana pecan cake, bread pudding all so very delicious. I can't wait to go again. OMG I almost forgot another star of the meal, the fondue fries...so yummy definitely last meal item!! Everything and everyone is top notch, you can't get this type of food, service and atmosphere anywhere, you can here tho. I'd give it a ten, perfect evening, thank you!! read more

We are from Winter Park, FL. We came down for a Father's Day weekend. My wife found this on Yelp! ** This was worth the whole trip to Vero Beach, FL. Make sure you get a reservation in advance! We travel around the world trying dishes from various cultures. We found one of the most incredible food places in Vero Beach. It would be worth driving 2 hours to eat at this place. The menu had 5 appetizers and 5 entrees The descriptions were so good we ordered one of everything. They started by serving a cream biscuit. OMG! This was so delicious! When I take a bite of truly incredible food, I get goosebumps. I didn't expect it from a biscuit. Ok! These are the incredible appetizers from Fire and Wine. 4 out of 6 of these are out of this world. Only 5 shown. The other was very good. The taste of these appetizers was 5++ Stars. The lump crab cheesecake with old bay creme fraiche - What a Taste sensation!! The special seared tuna over wasabi slaw! Wow! So good! You can only hope they have this as its normally not in the menu - it was a daily special! Another special, not shown, was their corn chowder coconut lump crab soup! Heavenly, must try! I could have this every day. The herbed Summer mushroom is good. It was not incredible like the others. I think it is because the others were so over the top new taste! The street corn Caesar salad. What a great spin on a Caesar salad. Delicious. Another must try. The last one was a crispy mac and cheese. This was perfectly crispy and the relish made it phenomenal! Everyone of these entree's was so good, they gave me goosebumps with each bite! While it may look like I ordered 5 entrees for myself...they were actually shared with 4 others. -Fire grillled duck breast/blue cheese greens/Red wine poached apples/Vadalia custard- Unbelievably delicious! -Red Snapper over Apple mashed potatoes with fennel and red beats - ridiculously great! - Pan Seared Large Gulf shrimp with Crispy Jasmine Cake and black bean, corn, tomato sauté, poblano cream. Too die for yummy! - My favorite and biggest surprise was the slow braised short ribs stroganoff! Must try or you've missed a gift from the gods! - Another wonderfully delicious surprise was the Fire Grilled Prime Pork Ribeye - This is another don't miss every bite was a burst of gourmet delight! Searching Yelp for Vero Beach 4 & 5 star restaurants was a little discouraging - not many options. Then, up popped Fire & Wine. You will will find there an expert blending of flavors in their dishes. But first, accept the idea that outstanding local sourcing, preparation, seasoning, cooking and presentation can be found in different environments. The unpretentious location is in a Winn Dixie anchored shopping center. The dining area is 12 ft wide with open kitchen in front as you walk in. Attentiveness by our server and the proprietor was continual. When my wife spotted Her favorite Pinot noir on the wine list (Eloian), she knew a good time was ahead. First off were house made fresh, hot Biscuits. The sweet corn Caesar salad had home made croutons that gave a good crunch to it. I went with the jumbo pan-seared Virginia flounder - big, flakey and tender sitting on a bed of sautéed spinach. But almost like a second entree was the crab & corn chowder sauce it was resting on. I sure would have liked to take home a bowl of that. My spouse ordered the chili & molasses glazed Antarctic salmon. If I am lucky to visit again, I will order exactly the same! read more

If you are in the Vero Beach area, Fire and Wine is a must. This was my second time there and I can't wait to go back. The service is outstanding, and to say the food is delicious is an understatement. Our appetizers, tuna sashimi and the pan fried scallops . (Barramundi) that I forgot to take a picture. This barramundi (Australian sea bass) was outstanding. It was served on a bed of dirty rice with calamari and topped with a mango chili sauce. All these flavors just exploded in your mouth with pure deliciousness. I give this place 10 !!! Make sure you make reservations! read more

What a hidden gem! This restaurant is so unassuming, that you might think you're in the wrong place when you arrive at the strip mall it's located at. Roger, the owner, handled our phone reservation, came to speak with us several times during our meal, and even brought us some special selected wine bottles that were not on the menu yet (he's also a highly rated sommelier). The kitchen prepared both fillet mignon and fish to perfection and Amy our server was extremely attentive throughout our experience. A pretty hidden gem in Vero beach. Last summer i went with my hubby to Vero Beach for a couple days. I do not want to be cooped up at a hotel so i sought out local restaurants and this is one of the highest rated. Off we went. The place is hidden and charming in an unexpected way. My husband and I have been wanting to eat at Fire and Wine for quite some time and it did not disappoint! I've read reviews about not letting the outside appearance fool you and I couldn't agree more. We were greeted and seated by Roger upon our arrival. We had reservations and I highly recommend calling ahead for a reservation. You most likely will not get a table. The inside is quaint and intimate, yet warm and welcoming. Missy was our server and she was absolutely amazing! She was very attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. You'll definitely want to ask for her! Okay, let's get to the deliciousness...I had the tuna sashimi appetizer and my husband had the duck sausage and waffle appetizer. The tuna sashimi was perfection. The duck sausage and waffle had my mouth watering and I wanted more. Our entrees were the sea bass with risotto and asparagus and filet steak with a spinach ravioli. Two phenomenal displays of love on a plate. We had to end our anniversary dinner/husband's birthday with the white chocolate crème brûlée and carrot cake bread pudding with a strong cup of Joe with their fresh cream. My only regrets are that we haven't tried this place sooner and I didn't take pictures of this experience. We will be back! Thank you, Roger and Missy for such a great evening. read more

Favorite find in Vero Beach. This small but cozy restaurant is the perfect option for a nice outing whether it's date night or a birthday. Make sure to lake reservations because this place is rightfully busy. The food was fantastic - if they have the sushi grade tuna with honey soy and wasabi glaze and wontons you have to try it. The tuna was thinly sliced and delicious served with a crisp coleslaw and a honey soy sauce with the right kick of wasabi. I got the special: barramundi with wild mushrooms, garlic spinach, mini carrots, and a lemon butter sauce all served over a seared corn pancake which had a wonderful delicious amount of corn and no hints of being overly fried or oily. Fresh ingredients perfectly prepared. My friend got one of the other specials which was tenderloin with frites and an insanely delicious gruyere fondue. The tenderloin was cooked perfectly medium and was so tender. They have their own pastry chef and we got two phenomenal desserts. A strawberry crumb cake with strawberry thyme basil sorbet and the sorbet was so smooth with strong and refreshing herb notes. We also got the chocolate pot de creme which was so velvety, rich, and delicious and came with homemade whipped cream and these little pieces of white chocolate bark. Delicious dinner and our server was great - we will definitely be coming back here! read more

Fire and wine Had the occasion to try this on our last night in Vero Beach. On a Tuesday, this place was packed at 7:45. Like in many parts of thE US, this well known eatery is in a strip mall. And in Vero Beach it's also snowbird territory and the mean age was probably 70. To the details: Our server, Kevin was friendly enough and tried to be efficient. We did have several issues early on in the meal, the first being with our reservation. We reserved the one and only booth in the place but when we arrived were then told it wasn't available. Then their signature dish, the TV dinner, despite being posted in great detail on the daily specials board, wasn't available. Nor was the only French rose on the wine list. Next up, bad stemware, which varied across the restaurant. Some tables had better glasses. What does this all mean? We got the sense that the establishment wasn't ready for all of the people who had reservations. The only way to get in, is with a reservation. This isn't a new restaurant but operates like one. The service was extremely slow, and the courses weren't well paced. For example, although we all ordered either an app or a salad or both only 1 person at the table got an app while we all sat and watched. When we inquired why our food wasn't coming out the waitstaff response was "what table are you at" vs how can we help or another customer satisfaction response. On to the food, it was good. Loved the fresh chew of the local greens but the dressing was a little cloying on the Brussel sprout and field greens salad. If they have the tuna sashimi special with crispy wonton and wasabi slaw get it. It's a must. Although it's all the same color the zesty, distinct flavors are there. Try it. It will make your tongue sing. Maybe some purple cabbage would help the color of the dish! On to the Entrees. 2 of us had the Barramundi special and it was delicious. The dish was stuffed with crab meat and a wine reduction. Not to mention the tasty spinach custard tart. Soft, fluffy and savory. 2 of the 6 of us had the pork ribeye and loved it, as well as the Mac n cheese. It was reported to be moist and tender. The wine list is pretty good but absolute California focused. I'm sure based on the snowbird palate but one could find some under Oaked/less ripe and huge bottles of red. Didn't look at the whites (except for the missing Rose). Wine prices were very reasonable but offering were mainstream. We had a good time because of the company but my uncles who are local are not in a rush to come back. The jury is still out. We were left with the impression that they are not prepared for their popularity. read more

Whoever gave this restaurant 5 stars, never experienced real gourmet dining. The concept here is maybe if we keep the place dark enough,(could hardly read the menu) and add enough heavy cream type of sauces, people won't find out that we haven't a clue what we are doing. Mediocre at best. read more
