This place is super cute and intimate. The menu may seem small but I assure you, the 2 items that we chose were both fantastic. We had Michelle as our server and she was lovely as well as knowledgeable. She went above and beyond and despite their listed closing time, she didn't rush us out and even encouraged us to enjoy ourselves. Would definitely return!

I came here for my birthday this year and it was amazing! The restaurant is in a strip mall surrounded by others but all they have is a little neon sign of a cat on their outward facing window! It was so cool, and the service was so welcoming. We were seated immediately which was a lovely surprise. My family ordered 3 orders of the foi gras, each having some of the largest portions of the delicacy we've ever seen, but the perfect amount! Not to much and not to little. Our mains were equally as appetizing! Everything is cooked by this incredible chef who cooks all her creations in a kitchen at the center of the restaurant, where many may place the bar. The food and ambiance was incredible and though we are not locals we will definitely be returning when we are back in Vero Beach!

As good a restaurant you'll find anywhere. Small close nit staff. Excellent food service and selection of European wine.

We went last night. What a great place!! Intimate, cute, delicious, incredible service! I started with the endive, raddicio beet salad, perfectly dressed; halibut with orzo the plate was beautiful, fish cooked perfectly...sooo so yummy. Others had the lobster salad app, small and enjoyed, it was like a small ring of chopped lobster with white dressing, followed by the scallops with the orzo/spinach side another yummy plate. Shared a bottle of white wine, they have a nice wine list. For dessert we shared the ginger crème brûlée and the brown butter pear tart. Crème brûlée was really good, the pear tart was enjoyed too!! For me tho I didn't get brown butter just too much on the lavender and cinnamon. This place is awesome and I can't wait to go back. It was a pretty perfect meal!

Kitty's is so good....shhhhh! Please don't tell anyone! I know eventually, it'll be next to impossible to get a table here. Part of the appeal of this fine restaurant is the "secret hideaway" factor: no phone number, no sign outside, no reservations, no advertising. Word of mouth only, and if you don't know about it, you'd never know it existed, even if you walked right by. Kitty is a real person and an accomplished restauranteur--former owner of Blue Star. She's put all her skills and passion into Kitty's Place to create an upscale, classy menu and sophisticated wine list in a relaxed, easy, contemporary setting. And note that prices are, well, "upscale". We started with two appetisers: foie gras prepared and presented perfectly and chicken liver mousse. Both outstanding, and consumed with a nice bottle of cold Sauternes. We followed starters with halibut, chicken breast and roasted duck entrees. All rich, tasty and wonderfully presented. Delightful with crisp Chablis. Kitty's is truly pushing the envelope for Vero Beach. As Vero Beach grows, so does the restaurant scene, and Kitty's Place is one of the post-Covid leaders making its mark around town.

*INITIAL REVIEW*…read more Today, my family and I celebrated Mother's Day given the fact one of my sisters and I would be too busy to celebrate it on the actual day. Ergo, we made a trip down to Vero Beach and had fun at both McKee Botanical Gardens and the Vero Beach Museum of Art (VBMA), both which got stellar reviews by me in the past. In between both locales, we were hungry and needed to eat someplace local. I had some suggestions, but my mom was in the mood for seafood. As a suggestion from reviews, The Crab Stop of Vero Beach was ultimately decided upon. I have to say, I am happy this restaurant was suggested because it is very good. Even though an address is provided, The Crab Spot of Vero Beach (which I will shorthand simply to Crab Spot for the remainder of this review) is located on the southside of the entryway into Royal Palm Place, one of the many extensions leading out into the water near US-1, but this one is known for the Royal Palm Park at the end. Initial display, decor, and ambiance has the stereotypical local dive bar look with elements showcasing they specialize in seafood, and the little bits of rustic flaws adds a bit of character for what they are. I would not expect such a look for a high-end restaurant, but this works for a local place on the river. The chairs squeeked, the table wobbled a bit in which the waitress fixed with some coasters, and the plates were chipped. No problem at all. There was even outdoor seating in the back bar-style which gives you a nice view of the canal that leads to the river. It was high sun, so we opted for the air conditioning. Now we move on to the food. I have to say that the majority of our food was really good, and when you adjusted to what you are eating, it was top-notch. Key word, however, is the "majority." The good: the hush puppies basket as you get 10 hush puppies that are lightly-seasoned with 1000 island sauce. If you eat one, it is probable you might think it is light on seasoning. However, they are small and finishing all 10 won't be a problem. The flavor builds with each hush puppy, which was smartly done compared to what most seafood places do: give you like two to five hush puppies of large size and high flavoring. The wings, however, used a hot sauce that was mostly vinegar. This ruined the wings for me, and if my stepdad ordered 20, he'd be eating the majority of them. Everything else was top-notch and delicious. Altogether, my family ordered the Fish and Chips, Mahi Sandwich, Fried Catfish Sandwich, Sea Scallop Snack Pack, and the Crab Cake Dinner. Details for each dish in the pictures. On a sidenote, the restroom was okay as in clean and stocked, but not the best-looking restroom I seen. Maybe the "character" could have not be extended to the restroom. Ultimately, I am giving Crab Stop four out of five stars. I do enjoy a good "mom n' pop" place as I prefer to support local and small, but since this is the only time I went, I can't justify a five-star rating until they prove to be consistent. I will be back as there is another park just south of this business that has geocaches that need to be found AND I may also try to hide a traditional letterbox here. But take note for a local seafood stop, this place is good to go.

If you want an eclectic- large- menu with fresh seafood and not stuffy vibe- this is your spot. Our server, Deb, was delightful. Simply perfect as far as service. We started with Oysters and onion rings. Couldn't say anything negative about their onion game and oysters were fresh. I prefer mignonette with mine, but this place is a cocktail sauce and crackers kind of spot. No prob. I had the fresh salmon "in the weeds" style. It was delicious. I've had a similar dish at a much more upscale place and this one held its own. My husband had the fish cakes and it came with fish and scallops in a crabcake style set up. They were also very good and very fresh tasting not fishy at all. We decided to take home dessert because we were so stuffed and Deb was kind enough to pack it all up for us with her infectious smile. Key lime pie- filling was excellent ratio of sweet and tangy but wasn't a fan of the crust. Seemed to have a hint of allspice or something unique that we picked up on but wasn't preferred. Peanut butter pie was classic and a 10/10. We saw several people with other dishes, like the taco salad or the fresh fish island style and they all looked amazing. The taco salad was massive and looked delicious. If you are looking for a casual spot with good food, great service and a good drink selection. You can't get much better than this.

This historical restaurant is located right on the water - any closer and you'd be swimming. It's an old building full of history and fun stories on the menu of how it came to be. It's a special place and it's memorable. We've been several times for lunch and dinner throughout the years. This place has a beachy gift shop, a main waiting room with the hostess stand, an oceanfront indoor bar and lounge area, and the main dining room. For lunch, it's more laid back. The menu is sandwich-heavy but includes some non-sandwich items like fried shrimp plate, nova scotia scallops, and a special entree each day. It's a lot less busy for the most part during lunch in comparison to dinner. Dinner is a big to-do here. They open at 4pm for bar seating and to add your name to the dinner waitlist. If you want a table, especially one closer to the best view, you've gotta get there around 3:50-4 to get in line. They don't do reservations unless you're a larger party. You can then either leave and come back close to 5, or enjoy drinks at their bar if you're lucky enough to score seating. At dinner, the menu is definitely more extensive- featuring steaks, chops, and different fish/seafood specials. We love their prime rib, and the creamed spinach is perfect and old school. At lunch and dinner, don't miss out on their dessert tray presentation. The dessert tray has a lot of options - and it's a fun experience. Their bartenders are always nice and professional, and most importantly make a delicious cocktail. Cosmos, pear martinis, dirty martinis, all delicious each time we visit. Servers are also nice and professional too which lends to the charm of this old place! We had one bad scenario out of all of the times we visited regarding service from an assistant manager - but every other visit has been great! I love that they have GF options, like french onion soup made without the bread! On your way out, stop by the gift shop for even more goodies - their homemade blue cheese dip is not to miss! It's complementary at dinner, but honestly we like to buy extra for the house. They also sell dessert slices, and alcoholic beverages like rum runners, pain killers, margaritas, etc in two different sizes. Great to take to enjoy and walk down the beach!
