Food and service is fantastic. A little noisy when dining room is full but still enjoyable

We had a reservation for 12 people (only 10 ended up attending) and within the first half an hour we were without drinks, bread, or our server asking for our orders. When we did get bread it was quite raw in the middle and after we asked for it to be cooked a little more thoroughly the next time it came out crispier but still raw in the center. I understand that it can get busy but it felt a bit overkill that an hour after ordering our food finally, though very slowly started coming out. It was okay to say the most, I ordered the Pizza which I was rather disappointed in. If I wasted to spend almost $20 on a pizza there's a better place near my house. This place was rather disappointing The outdoors area is nice looking, and the Ambiance is alright, but if you're used to mosquitoes and no-see-ums then I would go inside. Unfortunately this is not somewhere I would avidly seek out to eat at, and the only reason this place is receiving two stars from me is because some of the people in my group enjoyed their meals while others said it was disappointing. I ended up trying one of my group members pasta and it was just flavorless besides a fish flavor which wasn't all too pleasant (we did not end up taking the leftovers of it due to this) Two hours after we arrived everything was served and people have eaten. If you wanted a somewhat quick meal then this is not your place. The cannoli was pretty good although all together flavorless. The tiramisu was something else, not in a good way though. The lady fingers were dry and brittle, the only thing you could taste was the cacao powder on top of it. I did ask for it to go so that may be my fault but I didn't expect a half empty little container of it. The mascarpone was almost a liquid which was new to me. I was altogether highly disappointed in this establishment as I expected much more from somewhere that claimed that "It's an Art at Pomodoro" and that they strive to provide the highest quality dining experience. Looking back this place was definitely more deserving of one of the star. read more

Beware, check your credit card history and be vigilant! Had dinner at Pomodoro Grill in vero beach for the first time and they ran my card an extra $25 after they had already ran the card. My bill was $66 and I accidentally overtipped at 30%, (but I wasn't sure what math I was doing at the time, but oh well). The service wasn't any better than a 6 out of 10. Nevertheless, driving home from restaurant I received a notification of another charge on my card from pomodoro's for $25. I immediately called the restaurant and they removed the $25 and he said sorry. I could not get a great explanation of how that can happen but he said he would fix it. I imagine many wouldn't even catch something like this . When I charge my credit card for a meal , I receive a text message of the initial charge, but the tip typically isn't shown for an additional notification. That whole new charge of $25 was charged, and then I was notified, and this was extremely sketchy to me. The food was ok.... Too bad that was the afterthought read more

I really wanted to like this place- first for the good- the ambiance was cozy and inviting. Actually quite charming. We were greeted and seated promptly. Unfortunately, one of our party is very sensitive to the cold and it was directly under a vent. When she asked if we could move to the next table. The server was visibly miffed because the tables are reserved. Really? Now to the food- my husband ordered the flounder special which he enjoyed but the rest of us found the food bland. We only had the pizza. But, it was delicious. We are from the NY area so we know what good pizza is and we were not disappointed.

Just went to take out a pizza from Pomodoro Grill. It tasted just like the Half Moon pizzeria in Arthur Avenue in the Bronx from when I was a kid. It was really excellent. I'll have to go back another time to try the food, which looked and smelled great. read more

The food is very good; the prices reasonable; and the service is friendly. I've been here a half dozen times since moving to Vero, and I've never been disappointed. The house wine is a great value. I have to say it's nothing like the meal I had three years ago which prompted a poor review. They still don't bring out a basket of bread but the garlic knots are delicious. read more

I have been to Pomodoro several times. It is not in my top Vero Beach Italian Eateries. The service is mediocre as is the food. The food is very slow to come out of the kitchen and the wait staff is not attentive to empty drink glasses. The best part of the meal was the peanut butter mousse cake dessert. I wouldn't run to go there but if a group of friends want to go, don't be a party pooper! read more

I ordered one meal and was served something different. It should have been shredded pork with caramelized onions - Genovese. Not sure what I would call what I was served it was penne with beef meatballs with a red sauce. It was taste. When I inquired what I had been served since it was not shredded pork she informed me they ran out of what I ordered so chef made it with beef. NOT COOL. People with allergies or religious/other reasons to avoid certain foods beware - I was never asked what I wanted instead. I was also still charged full price even after pointing out it was not what I ordered. Food is always good. Well seasoned, garlic knots are tasty and the creamy onion dressing is a favorite. Not a large menu but you can't go wrong with any of the regular menu items. Service is attentive and wait staff are pleasant. It does get a bit warm inside but they do have a pizza oven, and it happens. Overall it's a nice place for a delicious meal! read more

Very pleasant surprise! In six years at Vero Beach I had never been here. Recently a friend recommended it, and I am so glad he did! We were looking for a place to dine outside, but covered. It wound up pouring hard after we sat down, so it was fortunate that we were under a canopy, and the sound of the rain made it special. Service was excellent, the food: chicken balsamico, flounder and pasta dishes were all excellent, as was the house Chianti, a bargain for under $30/bottle. We drank two! And those garlic dinner rolls that were brought out with our salads were over the top, ridiculously delicious! read more

We are 4-6 guys that get together for dinner every Wednesday night somewhere in the county and, Pomodoro gets hit about 3-4 times a year. My take... Prices up and while the food was good, $21 for a bowl of spaghetti is a little much and the serving size is down. Couple that with a 4% credit card up-charge, well, I wasn't impressed. Karen, the server was very good and, the garlic knots were great. We'll be back before too long as our Italian brother couldn't make it due to Covid. This is one of his favorite haunts. If you have COVID and cannot taste anything, this is your place!!! We have been in Vero for a week, and everywhere we have eaten has been solid. My 21-year old son even commented as we sat down for dinner at Pomodoros how awesome the food has been. We are not sure where these good reviews come from for Pomodoros, as everything we ate was tasteless. We had the Oscar and imperial. The imperial was swimming in so much sauce it was more of a soup than a pasta dish. The Oscar looked good but again, had no taste. Salads were fine and these weird rolls they serve are soaked in garlic, but at least it had taste. Service was ok, but faded toward the end. Even the deserts we got, tiramazu and cannoli, were tasteless. So many great places in Vero, but this is not one of them. read more

Our dinner at Pomodoro's tonight was fabulous! Seated quickly on the patio with our reservation, water and menus, pronto! Bottle of wine was lovely and the garlic knots came promptly with our salads. Karen took our orders and they came out hot and picture perfect, not to mention delicious. The portion sizes aren't over the top huge so there was nothing left to box up. And we saved room for dessert. We had ordered A veal chop and the pasta gamboroni. Dessert was lemoncillo cake and I had an espresso. All spot on perfection. We'll be back. read more

We had a great experience at Pomodoro Grill this weekend. They were busy and we sat outside under a covered patio (with a fan that created a nice breeze). We all started with a glass of wine and we're happy with the options available. We tried the Mozzarella Fresca Capri for an appetizer which was fresh & delicious! We also enjoyed the hot from the oven garlic knots to soak up the balsamic & olive oil leftovers. For entrees we tried the chicken parmigiana (plentiful, tender & delicious), seafood Oscar (flavorful but would have benefited from a few more scallops) and the Veal Nonno Antonio (very good). Though we we're full we indulged in the tiramisu and we're not disappointed. We recommend Pomodoro Grill and will definitely return! read more

It seems like this place has been going downhill for the last year or better. The seafood Oscar I had was flavorless. While it did contain 5 shrimp and the smallest scallops I've ever seen a restaurant serve, the pasta had no flavor, other than tasting like pasta. It was a half an hour before our drinks were served and the bread knots were put on the table. The bread knots were not completely cooked. We were in a party of 10 and while everyone had desert we were never asked for that order, I don't know how we missed it, or should I say I don't know how we were missed. At the one hour mark our dinners came out. Then when the bills were passed out I noticed that they were charging us about 4% to use our credit card! Good lord. If a business can't absorb the few dollars for processing credit for the sake of getting business in the door well guess what? I won't be back, our dinning dollars will be spent else where. I didn't actually like what I ordered but the overall experience was nice. The other people in my party enjoyed their meals a lot. I ordered the eggplant parmesan which is my favorite Italian dish. The place looks like some places in Rome. Thats where it all ends. Service is decent, but not great or memorable. Food choices are limited. Abundance of two sauce types Diavolo and White...for all pastas and fish. Food is what the US thought Italy had in 1980. Italy today has moved and improved all their offerings, with outmost focus on local specialties and products, making each meal memorable. You cant serve frozen shrimp or little neck clams and get away with it. Needs updating everywhere. read more

otdered food but waited 40 minutes for it. while we were waiting, we decided to have a glass of wine. Our cranky waitress brought us two glasses with approximately 3 ounces of wine in them. We were actually laughing thinking she has to be kidding me so we're looking at the next table and they're getting regular of wine. I'm talking, This is like one mouthful when I questioned her. She said this is a 6 ounce poor. I did not want to make a big issue it, but because of her attitude and the money I spent on a sip of wine. I will not go back you get people in a restaurant at least give them a decent glass of wine and it looks when you have a giant glass with nothing in it. meantime so the food came out immediately after the salad didn't have time to finish my salad before I head out to eat my dinner so everything comes out at once, but you have to wait for it. I did have chicken dish that was very tasty though. As a waitress you should distribute it better. you had 40 minutes to give the salad. and you should have also topped off our glasses. very unprofessional. read more

We had a wonderful dinner here each time we have gone. The veal dishes are amazing. The red sauce delicious! If you are looking for a delicious meal, good wine at a reasonable price point, this is it! Oh and their creamy garlic dressing is yummy! read more

As we approached the entrance the smells of Italy greeted us. The interior is traditional Italian stone design which, with the close tables, made it unusually loud. The classical decor provides a nice ambiance, but the glass table tops cheapen the white tablecloth experience. Next time, we'll sit outside. Also, the aquarium doesn't add much ambiance. I think it is only there so they can draw water for the table directly from the tank (buy a water filter). For starters the we had the Mozzarella Capri. It was adequate, but not as flavorfully delicious as I'd like. They also served garlic rolls which were drowning (in a good way) in garlic oil and cheese. They were very good, but garlic makes everything better. We had both a mixed green salad which was fresh, and a delicious dressing on the Caesar salad. The veal parmigiana had good flavor, but not as tender as the best veal. The shrimp and scallops Oscar was well prepared, but both the shrimp and scallops were small. read more

Took a long weekend with my family To have a little staycation. After trying three highly recommend restaurants and coming away highly disappointed, I found Pomadoro Grill Very cute restaurant tucked away in the corner of a parking lot, opened into a really nice place! My wife and our two daughters were taken very good care of by Carol. We ordered Pizza, chicken piccata and eggplant parmigiana. Everything exceeded our expectations by far. I have to give a big shout out to Pomodoro Grille. We had a fabulous dinner tonight, it was the couples special. Appetizers were bruschetta salad, prosciutto, and garlic knots. Next was a fabulous salad- get the creamy onion dressing! Dinner was the most delicious shrimp scampi (my choice, husband had flounder) followed by a chocolate peanut butter mousse cake, with a good bottle of rose. This place was recommended by some friends. We looked at the menu and saw things we liked. We started with the calamari diavolo. That was my first time having it and they set the bar high. The perfect amount of spice. We had difficulty choosing our dinners because everything sounded amazing. I had the veal parmigiana and my friend had the Gamberi vesuvio. I was jealous of her meal. Both were amazing. We ended with a limoncello cake that was so light we decided it was calorie free. I highly recommend this place. read more

We had a very nice dinner here last night, first time we came in very nice ambiance, my wife said it feels like we are in Italy. She had the chicken fontina, With the vegetable of the day it was a special early bird item and a good value at $1695 including salad. I got the egg plant Parm which was excellent and with with a side of rigatoni's and the Pomodoro sauce was very fresh. One of the highlights of the meal was the two homemade salad dressings the Vidalia onion and tomato basil vinaigrette, both were excellent. We can't wait to return, but they do not have a full liquor license bureau and wine only. read more

Took my 82 year old mother out for dinner. The server was rushed and not sure anyone could keep up with the specials run down. The salad was the best part of the Mahi Mahi special. We both suffered terrible stomach aches shortly after dinner. It was very expensive $80 for a shared meal with extra salad. I called to advise (as we frequent Vero often) and believe in giving an establishment the benefit of the doubt, I left a voice mail. My call back was less than kind. I politely explained are experience and I was barked at "I don't have anything to say we don't get complaints" and silence. I said, I am shocked that you don't even have empathy for a disappointed patron. He said our fish is fresh. Again, rude and non communicative to my plea for understanding. I have recommended a lot of places in Vero over the years. This will not be one of them. read more

What a disappointment for our first night of our stay in Vero. We were craving pasta and went off of the good Google reviews without checking Yelp. We ordered the bruschetta as an app. Three bland pieces of toast with tomatoes and balsamic. No noticeable garlic or capers. Next we had side Cesar salads. I like cheese but they were more cheese than romaine. Our server Brandon never offered fresh ground pepper. We grabbed a pepper shaker off another table. Our dinner was the Penne Oscar. It was supposed to have shrimp, scallops and crab meat. No signs of an scallops. The flavor was as scarce as the scallops. Brandon never stopped back to see how the food was. When we were finished the waiter stopped back to see if we wanted a box. My wife then told him how everything was really lacking flavor. Brandon didn't have anything to say and no manager came out to apologize for our experience. Save your money and go elsewhere. I'm on vacation and it's really disappointing to get dressed up to go out to dinner and be so disappointed. read more
