Amazing, beautiful, clean, healthy, great service, fantastic resoto ( which is easy to get wrong ) just over all great food

Scampi Grill is a lovely Italian restaurant in Vero. Everyone enjoyed a nice meal that included happy hour drinks, escargot (delicious and buttery), duck sausage, lots of garlic bread, meatballs, and main courses of fish, veal, chicken and pasta. The happy hour drink prices are incredible and a great draw. We all enjoyed 2 drinks during happy hour with some appetizers. All our apps tasted delicious, especially the escargot. Dipping the bread in the buttery sauce was top tier. Unfortunately, our server was really rushing us through happy hour to order our meal. We had just flown into town to visit our parents and had this reservation for about a week. Since the moment we sat down we felt extremely rushed to order our apps and entrees at the same time (at 4:30). We told her several times that we wanted to enjoy some drinks and apps before ordering but she kept pushing. She was very nice but we felt very rushed until the restaurant started to fill up. Once she had more tables to serve she seemed to chill out on us. But it really put a damper on our meal. Everyone had a clean plate and was very happy with our entrees. The triple fish special was delicious. I would have preferred it not to be breaded but I would definitely eat it again. Lots of cars in the parking lot on a Monday evening ! This started out with a good sign... Great service , meals were good and great . Dessert was yummy and top notch. Intial drinks and apps came out right away , meals came out a bit late . Reservations at 6 , meals at 720.. but fast drinks and app in-between. Nice patio heaters outside where it was a bit cold and windy . Drinks - not worth perhaps the price of the cocktails , but the wine bottle was a deal! Had a great meal here tonight. The best calamari (yes, they include tentacles) in Vero Beach and of course shrimp scampi over linguine is perfection. It's a very lively scene, very crowded, bustling and yes very, very noisy. But that all adds to the ambience. The patio area is kind of charming. The salad hardly had a touch of balsamic dressing, very dry and served with 3 large thick slices of red onion instead of thinly sliced on perhaps a mandolin. I had puttanesca which was disappointing, it was bitter because the garlic was obviously not sautéed long enough. My husband and son had shrimp scampi they said it was fine. Incredible dinner at Scampi Grill per usual. Best Salmon I've ever had. Husband said chicken dish was a 10/10. Service by Mikey was the best service we've had in a long time. Came here for the first time this past weekend to celebrate a birthday. Even though we had reservations we waited 30 minutes for our table because apparently they don't have enough space inside to put together tables for 6 or more. We had a lovely waitress who was manning too many tables alone and she looked flustered and overwhelmed. They were out of certain things on the menu and the vibe was a bit chaotic. The food came out in a timely manner but overall we were not impatient with the whole package. I ordered escargot that was not presented in its usual way( in the shell) it was ok, the calamari was fresh as well as Brusketta. The entrees were ok, the pasta dishes were drenched in sauce that took away from the actual flavor of the meals and the meatballs were overcooked. read more

I have been coming to Florida forever and heard how wonderful this place was and finally got to try it out to celebrate some birthdays and I am so glad I did. It is a beautiful restaurant with great interior decorations and a lovely ambiance. They have a wonderful area for outdoor seating but as it was still summer here we chose to eat inside. We were treated right away by a very friendly waitress and ordered a few cocktails that were very tasty, especially the blood orange martini. We got here early and had the Happy Hour discount which is excellent for savings on drinks. We had an appetizer of artichokes that were in a scampi style sauce and they were excellent. For dinner we ordered the Shrimp and Scallop Imperial which they loved and I had the Chicken Francese which was also excellent. So, here is where the only problem of the night was, my sister ordered the special which was a salmon dish and the waitress put in the wrong order and brought her the Shrimp Imperial. She said it would be around 10 minutes to get the right order so she said no as we would be halfway through our meals. After she brought the wrong order, she was hardly ever seen at all. Our water glasses were empty and she never checked back. After we had been done eating for awhile she finally showed up and I waved her down. We got dessert and she brought the check. Unfortunately, what could have been a five start review was not due to the service dwindling throughout the evening and also the fact that she did not really seem all that apologetic for getting our order incorrect. Even though my sister had said when she talked about the specials she was going to order that and again ordered it when we placed our orders. But, this place still deserves four stars and I look forward to giving it another try and sampling some of the other dishes. read more

I went there a couple of weeks ago for a celebration dinner. We sat outside near the edge of the patio. About fifteen minutes into our dinner a rat appeared from the walk near the parking lot. He lingered for a couple of minutes then went away. I told the waiter about this, and he was perfectly decent, and then a manager came to look at the situation, but the rat was gone. A few minutes later the rat reappeared and came within about five feet of our table. Let's just say this was not the zen experience I had hoped for. We had eaten our starter and had a glass of wine. I cancelled the main course and closed out the bill. I'm sorry that Scampi has a rat problem, but there problem is not going to become my problem. The next night we went for our celebration dinner to Maison Martinique and had a very good experience. read more

Scampi Grill - The special was shrimp, scallops over angel hair - Italian Near Me - Vero Beach, Florida

The food was good, however I have Celiac Disease and cannot eat gluten. I ordered the scallops and shrimp which was served over a linguine pasta, which I cannot eat. I asked the waitress if I could substitute with a potato or Risotto. She said they do not have potatos but that I could with the risotto for an upcharge of $8.00. Having requested this MANY times in quality restaurants there is almost always no additional charge and on a few occasions the charge was quite minimal. When I mentioned that to the waitress her reply was" well the pasta is very cheap". A dismissive and ridiculous response. Additionally, I asked for blue cheese olives in my Martini in place of pimento olives, if available, and she said yes but did not tell me there would be a $3.00 upcharge!! ( 3 small olives @ $1.00 an olive). The aforementioned is not consistent with the practices in a fine dining restaurant. Further, the waitress, while she was not rude, was Not Friendly and was very matter of fact and business like making the evening uncomfortable rather than pleasant. read more

Last Friday, February 20,2026, I went to Scampi Grill along with my wife and another couple to celebrate our 54th anniversary. We had reservations for 5pm and we arrived on time. We were quickly taken to our table and began a fine evening of dinner and conversation. The waitress took the orders and returned with our drinks and bread. The bread was delicious and was toasted with just enough oil. After waiting an hour for our dinners, the waitress approached and apologized for the delay and gave an excuse that the kitchen was short staffed. We advised that it was fine and we continued to wait. The food finally arrived and was satisfactory to all. We each had a different choice and each stated that the dish was delicious or adequate. We finished eating and were sitting at the table. We no sooner got the main dish completed and the waitress was asking if we wanted dessert. After looking at the menu, we decided to not have any dessert but we thought about possibly a coffee. The waitress returned within a couple of minutes and gave us our checks. She never refilled our glasses nor asked if we wanted anything else. We gave her the checks with cash and credit cards. The bill for the four of us was $200 and we left a generous $50.00 tip. The waitress walked off with the receipt and returned within a minute. The waitress then said to us "Would you finish up and please leave, we have customers waiting for the table!" I have never been to a restaurant where the waitress would actually ask you to leave the premises. We were insulted and we advised the staff of our displeasure. It is now Monday evening and the manager has not reached out to apologize for the waitress actions. My only visit and it is my last to this establishment. If all they want is the money and then ask you to get out, that does not make for and enjoyable evening. read more

Make reservations. During the 'snow bird' season this place is packed from open to close, it seems. And for good reason. Food was phenomenal. Mikey was our waiter: eclectic, funny, Very knowledgeable about the menu and everything on it (and not on it). He will not steer you wrong with food or wine. Service was top notch and despite being a busy night we were not rushed nor left waiting too long nor wanting for anything. The setting is interesting, dark and cozy but not too fancy. Service was great and food was delicious. Everything came out in a timely manner. Apps were the artichokes and a portobello mushroom special. They were excellent. For entrees I got the scallops and shrimp imperial, my boyfriend got the seafood mix special with red spicy sauce, our neighbors got shrimp scampi, shrimp Capri, eggplant rollitini and the salmon special. Oh my goodness. This place checked all the boxes. We have been going to Scampi grill for the last 13 years. The food is just like my Nona used to make and she was an outstanding cook. The portions are just right. The service is great -ever attentive. The ambiance is cleverly old world warm Italian. Bottles fill the walls, white table clothes and dim romantic lighting in the main dining area. The patio feels like you are sitting outside in a vineyard in Italy, so try that too. We ha found that it can get a little pricey, but then I say... the leftovers (if there are any) are just as good if not better the next day. So we go for celebrations and love it. read more

Last night hubby and I went here for our Anniversary dinner celebration. It turned out to be an excellent choice as everything was wonderful from walking in the door until leaving. We had made a reservation for 6:00 and were taken right away to our table. Our server, Larissa, showed up promptly and took our orders. She had a great attitude and was so nice, cheerful and helpful making choices. First, the appetizer, calamari. It came with a marinara sauce and an aioli sauce. Both were delish! For entrees hubby chose the seafood combo which was one of the night's specials. I chose the penne Bolognese. Both arrived piping hot and absolutely delicious. For dessert we had the chocolate toffee cake with caramel sauce, which was to die for with a surprise sparkler on it to wish us a Happy Anniversary-nice touch! We loved it! We had a fabulous dining experience....hats off to the chef and our delightful server, Larissa. We will definitely be back, hopefully very soon! read more

Nice family run Italian restaurant in downtown Vero. Upscale ambiance with table cloths and quality silverware. Not quiet but not too loud to have a conversation. Excellent menu with seafood, veal, chicken etc. Flexible with respect to your choice of sauces. We all had cleaned our plates so I guess everyone liked if not loved their food! BTW it was a plus in my book that the shrimp were served without tail shells! Many restaurants serve scampi type dishes with shrimp that have their tail shells. This then becomes a project for the diner to remove the tail shells and find a place to put them! read more

Service is excellent. The place has a lot of older clientele, so I think that helps with maintaining the high standard of service. I got the lobster shrimp and scallop cannelloni and 2 sangrias. Their sangria is delicious. I honestly wanted about 12. Happy hour ends at 530 - when making reservations aim for some time earlier than that to enjoy those sangrias. The restaurant is very well organized with beautiful paintings, wine bottle decor on the walls, and both indoor and outdoor seating. To earn my 5th star, you would need to have filtered water. read more

I used to eat here about 10-11 years ago when I lived here when they were at their other, smaller location, by the art district. I always loved it!! Came back to visit family again, and this year I remembered this place and suggested we eat there. I was happy when I found out they moved to a larger location!! That means they're doing well!! Great news!! Glad I made reservations, they are BUSY!! Make sure to reserve seats for your meal or you may miss out. We all ordered the artichoke appetizer and we loved it! My Dad and his wife both ordered the seafood mix from the specials. He got it with the Parmesan cream sauce and she got hers with the tomato sauce. They really loved their meal. My husband ordered the triple tail fish and it was spectacular!! I ordered the linguine with clams and white wine sauce. I was very disappointed in my meal. Though the clams and the linguine were perfectly cooked, it was swimming in sauce (like a soup) and it was extremely salty!! The do add pancetta to the sauce so I think that's where it may have gone wrong. I couldn't do any of the sauce. I was so disappointed with them for the first time ever. BUT because I have eaten here before and everything was always very good, I chalk it up to just a mistake. We can't always win in the kitchen. Plus everyone else was extremely pleased!! All-in-all, I would still recommend this place, but I will never order the linguine with clams and wine sauce again. Maybe another sauce would have been better, not sure. read more

Time for an update: It was a rainy Saturday and Scamp's seemed like a delicious place to shelter. Mikey was our waiter and he was personable, knowledgeable and efficient. He recommended an Italian Merlot and it did not disappoint. We started with salads. My wife's choice was the apple and blueberry salad. Fresh spring mix with blue cheese, it was dotted with sundried blueberries and topped with sliced apple with a drizzled balsamic glaze. Sweet, tangy and delicious. My Caesar salad was as described with anchovies and an acceptable dressing. I noted sautéed red onion bits and Mikey confirmed the chef's take is to provide some caramelized sweetness. (It's minimal) For entrees we returned to one of our past visits and I ordered the bountiful seafood mix; fish, clams, large shrimp, calamari, mussels and crab simmering in your choice of sauces over your choice of pastas. I opted for the Parmesan and spinach cream sauce over fresh made fettuccine. Phenomenal. The seafood was cooked to perfection. This entree begs for bread. The toasted baguette slices come buttered and prepped with garlic. Mikey refreshed the first plate without a prompt just as the thought crossed my mind. Niiice. My wife truly enjoyed her chicken and burrata in the ala vodka sauce over the fettuccine. A dusting of freshly grated Parmesan topped the dish well. We passed on dessert but Mikey commented that key lime pie had been added to the menu. For the next time. Scampis remains consistent and reliably delicious.
