We picked Fin for a celebration of my fiancé's parents' 30th anniversary, because the traditional gift is pearls.
We ordered oysters to start, and the experience went downhill from there. The list of oysters were not available on paper, so the waitress, who never introduced herself, spewed off a list that was difficult to follow. We ended up ordering 5 of two kinds of oysters. The oysters were served with inconsistent shucking. Most had no fluid remaining on the shell, some were still attached to the shell, making it difficult to slurp.
In addition, we ordered the Lobster Mac n' Cheese and Lobster sliders as appetizers. There were 5 of us who could eat shellfish, but 4 sliders came out on the plate. We ended up splitting one of the sliders. When we got the check and extra Snyder was added on the bill, but we never asked for it. One of the waiters took it off the bill for us, but 4 sliders for 5 people is a curious act in itself.
Throughout the serving of bread, sparkling/ tap water (never refilled), and appetizers, three or four different servers came to our table, and none of them introduced themselves.
The restaurant was not busy, but we had to wait a significant amount of time before any of the waitresses/waiters paid us any attention. Finally, one of the waitresses came, and stated that they are out of their best selling dish, the 7 spice tuna. She recommended the Diver Scallops, the Atlantic Swordfish, the Bronzino. - introduced as an oily fish.
We ordered all of the recommendations, plus the Roughy and the Steak. The bronzino was not the oily fish described. The casserole served with the bronzino had undefined ingredients, and we couldn't get an answer while dining because no one checked on us. We were also unable to wave anyone down, because the waitress who ended up serving most items never kept herself available for us. She would go back to her conversation with a waiter as soon as she puts food on our table. It's as if she wanted to get us over with. We did not feel like valuable customers.
The scallops were ok, swordfish ok, steak was ok. All the dishes were ok, but nothing wowed us. At this price point, something should stand out, but every dish I tasted and tried left me thinking I can make better food at home.
Since we came as a party of 6, gratuity was already added on our check. We wanted to give a subpar tip because of the terrible service and mediocre food, but was unable to do so. Hopefully, the restaurant reads this review and change their ways. read more
