I have two Hawthorn trees that are at least 15 years old. They are important to us as they provide both beauty and privacy. For at least the past 9 years they have been pruned and maintained (including staking). Because of the hard rains and windy conditions over the past few months, both trees were beginning to lean to a degree where we were concerned about losing them. We contacted Fig's Landscaping, and I am glad we did. They had two gentlemen at our house the next morning. In our opinion, they did a fantastic job. They pruned, straightened and staked both trees. Additionally, they kept us informed, asked for our input and cleaned up in a polite and professional manner. To make it even better, I was surprised at how fair the bill was - I recommend this company at least for the type of job they did for us. read more

Figs does an amazing job! They are prompt proficient, reasonably priced, responsive and reliable, our grounds have never looked this well kept. They are good at keeping trimming on rotation, weeds at bay, proactively stemming pests. They have been reasonably priced in keeping our aging pipes fixed and repairing fencing and sheds. They really do design it, build it and maintain it. read more

Worst landscaping company - do not hire. Can't get any of the basics right. Also, staff is not friendly, they are rather rude and unhelpful.

If there was a minus star this guy Chris would be deserving of that. Like a used car salesman all promises and never follows thru until you hound them to death. Plants allowed to die because he didn't follow-up when we "took all the pictures he demanded to show to his crew", to fix the problem, never happened. We are now in recovery mode on these plants, many almost completely dead due to a broken pipe and his lack of follow-thru. Oh and if your yard is any type of work, like actually having a crew that looks at things observes it's not happening with this company. Mow and blow and never looks back. Not one time did he ever mention to me that there was an irrigation problem or his crew, not until I observed plants dying and notified him we had a irrigation problem and still after weeks of texting, calling no follow-thru, not once did his crew ever bring this to his attention, just a joke of a company, have no idea how this guy even stays in business. read more

I do not typically post on yelp but upon seeing Figs' rating, I felt I needed to. I had nothing short of a perfect experience working with Figs. They went above and beyond for the project they were hired to do. They were responsive, professional, and did what they said they would do in the time they said they would do it...very impressive considering this is an industry nowadays where you are lucky to get a call back unless your project is $20k and people just don't show up for appointments. If you are getting bids, I would recommend giving Kevin and his team a call. read more

I actually did a trade with the owner for doing his daughter's wedding gown and Veil on very short notice 10 days! He said he would do such an amazing job and make it so worthwhile! He was all over the board with ideas just up selling blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. idea here and idea there, and put this here do that there. And once we told him kind of what we wanted he did what he wanted. No follow-through no text answering no phone call answering no nothing. Unbelievable he's still in business! he's a rip-off and a con and I'm telling everybody now because I'm fed up and disgusted with people like him taking advantage of people like us. We had been considering a complete backyard redo and our landscape designer suggested we work with Kevin and team at Figs. BEST decision we could have made. Kevin Figueroa was a pleasure to work with from start to job completion. He spent a lot of time with us onsite, talking about the project and what we wanted, and provided a very professional and reasonably priced bid. He introduced me to the members of the team who were providing oversight and both he and they were in contact with us throughout the process. The crew arrived as scheduled and never took a day off -- even in pounding rain. I have never seen a group with such a strong work ethic. They were all polite, respectful and friendly. At the end of every day the site was carefully cleaned up, so the whole process was seamless for us. But the best part is the result. The Figs crew handled complex hardscape and grading, and were highly attuned to the last-minute tweaks we asked for on a couple of items. They clearly had pride in their work and really wanted us to be happy. Now our yard is completely transformed and it is beyond what we had hoped for! They have followed up to make sure we were satisfied and offered tips to keep the yard in shape. There were never any surprises with costs or bills. Everything proceeded exactly as we had been promised. I would urge anyone who needs a new yard or an update to reach out to Kevin. We are very happy that we did and we will use them again on our front yard project next year! read more

Truly awful service. Ok landscaping results. The landscapers take ALL DAY to complete a small portion of our neighborhood. They start very early in the morning with extremely loud power tools RIGHT OUTSIDE MY BEDROOM WINDOW. They seem to take much longer than needed in any given area. I'm a college student who works full time so when I'm (rarely) at home I wish to sleep or study. Impossible with these jerks on Mondays. Sometimes they block me in or out of my driveway and look irritated that I want to leave! Completely unprofessional and rude. Their manager is the absolute worst of all. He glares at me frequently like I've made him mad. Maybe if he spent his free time managing his employees he wouldn't be so grumpy. read more

We have Consolidated Communications for our internet service. We live far enough out in Granite Bay that there is no wireless internet service so our internet comes through a hard cable in the ground. After 30 years it developed a short and rather than dig it up and fix it we decided to have a 100 yard trench, one foot deep dug from the street to our home, to install conduit to run a new internet cable. Kevin Figueroa, the owner, came out and gave us an estimate of $760.00 which sounded very reasonable. He sent a crew of two of his guys out a few days later with a very old, but very reliable Ditch Witch trencher machine and began digging our trench. The only thing they didn't expect was the 6 inch to two foot diameter river rock buried under our driveway. Well this really slowed them down considerable and required a lot of shovel work and pulling out these large rocks by hand. They finally got to softer ground after an hour of the river rock and now the trencher easily cut through the rain softened ground. We do have an underground irrigation system that we thought was deeper than one foot, but the trencher did hit one of our water pipes and broke it. We turned off the water quickly and they had it fixed in a jiffy and our water back on. Other than these minor mishaps, the trench came out great, and we got the conduit installed in a few hours with the help of a good friend who had worked with conduit in his construction job. Consolidated came out the next day and installed their internet line, and just like that, we had internet service again. Wow! It's amazing how much our life was tied to having internet service. What a blessed joy it was to have it back after a week without it. Kevin did feel justified in charging us a few hundred more for the river rock and we felt this was totally justified and paid it with thankfulness that he got the job done so nicely and so quickly. So we give Kevin and his crew top-notch ratings for their work, and would hire him again for any other projects like this that we might need done in the future. I really wish there was a zero stars option on this site. We hired this company to redesign our back yard. Cycle came out and walk through our yard with us. We came up with a plan and once installed the work was crappy. We had them lay blue crush rock and it barely covered the ground. We had them build and paint a fence and they didn't completely finish and had to call them back out to finish painting! My husband finished the boards because they left some out. Fast forward 1.5 years, we pay them every month to maintain the landscaping. They don't show at least once a month. They have mowed through two of our patio rugs. I call in to the phone number to talk to someone about the new issues we are having and get some guy obviously driving who tells me "I will make a note of it" and nothing ever gets worked out. we spent 13k (plus monthly maintenance fees for almost two years) to have terrible service. My opinion is don't hire. They have 2.5 stars for a reason. I just wished I had yelped them before I hired. read more

When they completed a clean up, did some replanting, added rocks/bark and lighting things looked pretty good and I was happy. Unfortunately we had five plants die, several large patches of the grass died and four of the lights stopped working within three months of completion. I sent a text and was told they would come back out to take care of the dead plants and lights, well that never happened. Several more texts were exchanged all with the promise to come back out and it never happened! read more

Fig's Landscaping re-did my backyard a year ago when I first moved into my house. They did a fabulous job! I paid for my front yard to be done this year. I wasn't in a hurry and they had other jobs going on, but they finally showed up and worked for 2 weeks straight converting my sloping bark-covered front yard into an oasis of river rock, lava gravel, drought-tolerant plants and a small tree, and a stream down the side! (No water, of course, unless it rains.) PLUS a beautiful stone wall in front! Some artificial grass is coming in a week, but I can't say too often how much I LOVE their work! And the guys that do all the work? They are the nicest and hardest working crew I've EVER seen! I would recommend them highly, and you DON'T have to live in Loomis to hire them! They'll go anywhere! read more

My family and I moved into a new neighborhood back in April, and our lawn and large amount of very pretty bushes and trees were way too much for us to even attempt to take care of ourselves (we do not have green thumbs at all!). We had trouble finding a lawn maintenance service, maybe because of the season, I don't know. We finally found Figs and they readily took on our lawn. They said they would anyway. I got a quote for both the front and backyard cleanup, and then we were going to have weekly service for the front, and monthly for the back (since there is no grass in the back, just bark, dirt, trees and plants). The initial cleanup of the front yard was fine. The person who lived here before us had moved a couple months before we moved in, so it definitely needed some cleanup. The backyard was only even partly cleaned up. There was literal trash just left in the backyard, like a couple actual piles. They also left all the tall brown weeds around our pool, left dead plants in their huge pots that I could not possibly move myself, etc. When we complained about it, they came out a couple days later to fix it. I got a text from the owner saying the back yard was done and looked great! When my husband and I got home and actually looked at the backyard.. it was not great. There were still numerous weeds, the trash was still there, there was a dead tree (we had one in the front and one in the back die since they've cared for our lawn, and I don't mean tiny new trees, I mean trees that were at least a few years old), and the tops of our very tall bushes that were supposed to be cut flat, literally had like ten 6-12 inch pieces sticking straight out the top. We sent a picture of the bushes to him and mentioned the weeds and everything...they came back and fixed the bushes, but nothing else. We then noticed we hadn't been billed or seen them in over a month. We had been assuming they were coming when we were working, but then the lawn started looking worse. We called the owner about this and we were told that one of his managers was no longer working for him, but not to worry since he didn't charge us for that month. Ummm... what?? Correct, we didn't get charged, but our lawn looks like complete crap. There are weeds, portions of the lawn are dead or diseased, and we had to have two trees removed because they died. We actually care what our lawn looks like! We wouldn't have a lawn service if we didn't. We then paid them to place bark down (which we were told would be done, and then we had to text the owner two weeks later to remind him to do it). It was finally done, but it was done in such a hasty, not neat way. There is literally bark spilling into the street and onto our driveway. To top it off, I asked the owner why nobody came this week to do our service, and he said because the worker saw that we had lots of company and didn't want to disturb said company. He said he knows it's a lame excuse. Nobody asked or told us anything about this, and that "company" was a bunch of painters painting our house. At this point, our lawn just looks flat out bad, and I am extremely disappointed with the service we've received. read more

The work was done on time, great crew...did extras to our delight making a truly beautiful yard. Really bad company they destroyed my yard and very rude. I spoke to employees they used trash language and told me they will charge me even after they killed my grass and bushes. My hole landscaping is destroyed. When I mention to manager that his employees unprofessional he was totally rude and mean. Do not recommend. read more

We are looking to landscape our yard. We called and they came out within a day or two. Seemed nice and had some great ideas. Said he'd get back to us in a couple days. Almost a week passed, no call. Called to follow up, said he was waiting to hear back from a guy. Then came back a day later and did some sketches and measuring. Thought, ok... they're busy and now he's back and we're making progress. They finished taking notes, etc., and said he get me a quote in a few days. Another week passed, no call. I called and asked him if he'd gotten an estimate together yet. Said he had his part, but was waiting on another part. He said he'd call his other guy right away. I said ok thanks, hope to hear back soon. Been several weeks now. Never heard back. Apparently he didn't feel our project was big enough or worth his time. Who knows? So glad we didn't start, because based on this experience, who knows if it would ever get done and the quality. I do not recommend this landscaper. Very disappointing. read more
