We've had Fish come out for multiple jobs over the last few years. Each time we've been super pleased with the work. One job was prepping for artificial turf to be put in. After the job there were some drainage issues and they can route to resolve them asap. Most recently we had them prep a large foundation for a shed. The results were fantastic. They even moved a fruit tree for free that was in the way of the foundation. We thought it wasn't but turns out you should leave the measuring to the professionals. See the before and after pics. The crew guys were also very good with our kids, chatting a little with them, telling them to stay inside when they were doing more dangerous work, etc. I couldn't recommend them more! read more

I do not recommend this company I wish you could see the job they did and Did Not do for me. They did half the job and up the price double to do the rest. Was the most expensive so figured that they would be good. Owner came out an gave me an estimate, While a little high I said ok. Next week his crew came out to prune my privet hedge and some other shrubs in my yard. His wo man cew came with a pair of hedge trimmers an a loping shears. I asked if they had a gas powered hedge trimmer an they said "no" After watching them for about a half hour I said "want to use my electric hedge trimmers" because with their equipment would of taken 12 hours to do the trimming. I also saw that there pruning shears were no good so gave them mine.Within 4 hours they completed the trimming with my equipment. When I asked the owner about some compensation for using my equipment he said they had trimmed a little extra an that was it. The crew did a good job but cost $175 per hour. I would look for someone that had the right equipment next time read more

If I could give a minus star review this would be it!!! My husband hired Fish landscaping to fix our sprinkler system. At the first appointment they never showed up. After we thought the system was fixed we returned home from a 2 week vacation to angry neighbors and a huge water bill as our sprinkler system was leaking and flooding the roads. My husband for the third time called Joe and asked him to come out again and fix the sprinkler system that he had apparently not fixed. Several days after Joe's guy had been out to fix the system my husband went to use the garden hose and noticed that the water to the garden had been turned off. After further investigation it became apparent the reason why the water had been turned off was because the leak had not been fixed! For the fourth time my husband called Joe to ask why the leak had not been fixed. In the meantime our garden and trees are dying, when the water has been running it has flooded onto the street and run up the water bills! Joe sent out a team of guys to fix the sprinkler system this time. After they left I noticed only 1/4 of our garden was actually getting watered. I hired a new company to come out and fix the sprinkler system. When the technician opened the box where the water valves were it was full to the top with water and rocks. Once the water drained the technician had to dig out all the rocks that Joe's guys had put in the box to see what was going on. Basically they were trying to hold their sloppy repair job together with rocks and had turned off the valves to 3/4 of the garden because apparently they were incapable of fixing it! All I can say at this point is BUYER BE WARE THIS COMPANY IS A TOTAL SCAM!! read more

Crew guys make you very uncomfortable! They seriously have a huge staring problem! I can't walk outside on my front porch without the 3 guys stopping to watch me. It's horrible, creepy and very uncomfortable!! Can't wait till they are out of our neighborhood. About a month ago we had an issue with a broken sprinkler head. Called Joe with Fish Landscape on Friday afternoon and he mentioned that he would be close by my neighborhood the following morning around 8 am, and would swing by. Said he thought it would be a quick fix. At 5 til 8 he arrived and my husband showed him the issue. Joe ran right over to pick up the parts we needed and the whole job was completed by 9am. He even showed my husband what parts he would need and how to fix the problem should it start happening to other sprinkler heads in the future. Such a nice guy! Joe Fish comes off as a good guy. I paid him to fix someone else mess of an irrigation system. He made progress before the rains came last fall. It still doesn't work properly so I asked Joe to come out a fix a few things. He gives dates, then doesn't call, doesn't show, won't return phone calls or text. That is until today when I threatened in a text to write honest reviews about him/his business and take him to small claims court. He replied "Good to see who you really are" after accusing me of "badmouthing" him by writing reviews. He had no comment his failure to keep appointments or finish the job he was paid to do. Now that I see the other reviews he has on this and other sites, I guess it should come as no surprise to anyone. Too bad, I thought he might be an exception to the norm when it comes to contractors these days. Its really too bad, I have enough work on another property to last a landscape contractor 12 months and a lifetime of maintenance work. At least he got the quick buck so he can move on to the next sucker while claiming to be victim. read more

I employed Joe Fish and his company last fall to remove a sycamore tree, lawn, and large roots from my front lawn, and another set of volunteer trees and all major roots along a fence line. I paid more than $2000 for the labor, removal and replacement sod and front yard tree installation. By this spring, I started seeing sprouts popping up in the new lawn and garden area where the volunteer trees had been removed because some of the large roots had been left in place. If the job had been done correctly and completely, this should not be happening. Around the first of June I received an email for Joe's company asking if I had any work. I immediately replied back and on the 6th he viewed the site and said he'd provided an estimate. ON the 11th we agreed on the quote and asked for a schedule. Joe could not start until the 25th. Well unfortunately on the 25th he was down a worker and canceled but rescheduled for today (2 July). Too bad he didn't show up on the 25th because it was raining and cool - today it's hot. Well, its pass noon - No Joe. I called before 8:45 this morning - No return call from Joe. So I'm canceling the job and writing to say how unprofessional Joe and his company has handled this job. read more

I had them remove a lawn, plant trees and shrubs, add a drip system and install pavers where a hot tub will sit. Joe came out to my house to view the potential project and quote the job, and he was super knowledgeable, and incredibly friendly. Kristen was fantastic doing the project coordination from the office, and I can't say enough about how great Rene and his crew were. We've used Fish Landscape Maintenance for a few years - until they shattered a brand new sliding glass door. I was home at the time, and I saw them in that area of the yard using blowers, mowers, and weed eaters when it occurred. However, because I didn't see it actually happen Fish Landscaping said that it was "impossible'"that his people broke the window. Fish didn't even come out to look at the damage. Additionally, don't expect anything other than very basic blowing and mowing from these folks. They won't tell you if a sprinkler needs repair, even when it's obvious. Getting them to fix a broken sprinkler once you've found it is like pulling teeth. read more

We recently purchased a home in the area and selected Fish Landscape to clean up the property which was in pretty good shape but needed the "pride of ownership" touch. Joe walked the property with me and we were clearly on the same page on what needed to be done. He and his crew did a great job and is now providing weekly service. We bought a new house and during the inspection we saw Fish Landscaping at a neighbor's house. We asked them for a quote for regular maintenance. We hired them and they came a few times. Since we were moving (across country) when their next bill would be due, I contacted them and told them I didn't want to forget them in the hustle so would send a check for the next month too. BIG MISTAKE. They never showed up again. I paid for two months and they came twice! Every call, every email, every letter was IGNORED. I've never seen a company that can behave that way. I had 14 acres in Penryn which had 3 acres surrounding the house completely manicured. I was hosting a 100+ person party and needed vast colorful groupings of beautiful annuals and last minute work making my property look amazing. I was looking to have the color put in with with style and coordination, not all willy-nilly. I was referred to Joe and was grateful for his attitude and helpful enthusiasm in making this project a reality in short order. He brought along his brother to help expedite the job and in 2 days my property was party ready, spic and span with new bark, fabulous color and some pruning/trimming of some overgrown foliage. I received many, many compliments from being called Martha Stewart to people referring to my gardens as Better Homes and Gardens magazine worthy. He is a genuine young man with high standards and good knowledge of his craft. After working with so many in the building trades I can say I really appreciate certain other qualities like no language barrier issues, prompt, hardworking, no swearing, drinking or cussing that I witnessed ( I was around the job most of the time) and they cleaned up and disposed of any leftover materials. read more
