I do not recommend Shear Perfection Landscape…read more We had similar experiences to others' poor reviews on here. One specific issue I wanted to note below: Here is what the contract said: "Fix and move existing irrigation in the backyard to new shape of lawn." When they put in new irrigation, they chose to bury an old sprinkler. The old sprinkler is now leaking. Why didn't they just FIX AND MOVE the old sprinkler like the contract said? Owner danced around this question, and they won't repair it. Now I will have to pay a new company to repair it. There were some other questionable events, but I will be respectful and not go into them. I DO NOT recommend using Shear Perfection Landscape.

Chad was friendly, professional, had exceptional working knowledge, explained things perfectly, and listened to my goals (so important!). He immediately understood what I wanted to do with both yards, offering wonderful suggestions based on his years of experience. The quote I received was great, covering everything Chad and I had discussed. They were able to get me on their schedule right away. The team that came out and performed the work (Romeo, Luke, Roberto and Caesar) were exceptional. Always friendly, professional, willing to answer my many questions (lol!), and their work product was perfect. Andrea was a fantastic Admin. She kept all the paperwork and communication flowing, and was a wonderful resource when I had questions. Chad was great - onsite and present often, providing information and ensuring that I was happy with the progress. The project included: demoing the bark, patio and existing fountain; removing plants; replacing old drip and lighting lines; replacing irrigation valves and solenoids; finishing all beds with lava rock; pouring approx (1000) sq ft of concrete - 2 color stamped pattern; installing a header board along a property line; and building a mini retaining wall along the sidewalk. They cleaned up everything when they were finished, it was spotless. The work done was exactly as we discussed and I am so pleased. They will be coming back out to seal the concrete after it is done curing. Based on my wonderful experience with them I highly recommend Shear Perfection Landscaping. I will absolutely be working with them again when I have future landscaping needs. Thanks Shear Perfection for everything!

From the start Miguel was clear on expectations, timelines and the end result. He was able to propose solutions that would meet our budget and make sense for our space. He explained that it is critical to have enough hands during concrete days and emphasized the importance of drainage. We see an incredible difference after heavy rain with our yard, there is no pooling or puddling on our hardscape in comparison to our neighbors' yards because his team re-did our plumbing system to ensure that i was done right. Our back and front yards are beautiful and well worth the investment. We could not have asked for a better outcome and love showing it off!

Our initial impressions of David, the owner, were positive as he seemed trustworthy and…read moreknowledgeable. Wow, were we duped. From start to finish the backyard project took over a year to finish. Our backyard project was not big. This was an extremely stressful process as we had to check up on the work throughout; at points we went months without any work being done and David always had an excuse. Admittedly, we didn't have all the final decisions made prior to the start and things were fluid at times but there was always work that could have been done which didn't happen unless we pushed. With the amount we paid we thought the owner would have been more helpful with design but were left to do research and find/look at materials ourselves. We had to withhold payments because work wasn't being done despite being pestered and payments demanded from the owner. Numerous times we had to have conversations regarding progressive payments being demanded by the owner despite lack of work being performed. The only thing that motivated the owner to get back to work was us withholding payment. The owner clearly had too many projects and not enough workers resulting in the customer suffering which we heard from one of the workers was an issue with his other jobs too. We had a large landscaping company come out while we had one of the long breaks in work and pointed out many issues and stated they would've completed the job in 3 weeks. It was exhausting and stressful to have to inspect every aspect of the job and find subpar work being performed/corners being cut. An issue we still have is drainage, which we questioned the owner about prior to finishing the project but were assured it wouldn't be an issue. We trusted him but again learned the hard way not to. We are going to have to hire another company to fix the lake that arrives in the middle of our backyard when a large rain occurs. Our project was expensive and his bid was on the high side compared with others so needless to say we expected much better.

After months of research and meeting with local landscapers, we hired Cascading Falls to completely…read morere-landscape our tired, neglected front yard. Owner/landscaper David Shelly expertly guided us through a transformation that began with our rudimentary sketch of design ideas and ended with a lush, vibrant, welcoming outdoor space ideal for both relaxing and entertaining. We appreciated David's collaborative approach to tackling what could have been an overwhelming project for us: removing existing vegetation and hardscape; installing irrigation and drainage, driveway and courtyard pavers, large moss rocks, and a dry riverbed; constructing terraced cultured stone retaining walls and a stone staircase; amending and tilling soil; and planting low water native plants. David managed the project in stages, allowing us the flexibility to make decisions about design, materials, and vegetation as the landscaping evolved. Experienced in outdoor design as well as hard and soft scaping, David provided tailored options for construction materials and zone-appropriate vegetation. He did much of the work himself and was a stickler for details such as the placement and patterning of pavers. When his crew (who were professional and hard-working) were on site, he came out often to check on work quality and progress. David ensured we were all on the same page by listening closely to our ideas, setting clear expectations in written estimates, and promptly responding to our questions and concerns. Even after completing the project, he followed up on unexpected issues including applying protective coating to the retaining walls to address leeching and replacing struggling plants. We feel fortunate to have found such a conscientious professional in David. In fact, we've just hired him again to help with a backyard refresh and can't wait to get started!

He spent a long time discussing our project with us, and what he and his team could do. It was obvious he had a great deal of experience building retaining walls, and knew what had to be done, and how to do it. We happened to mention we needed to repair or replace our flagstone pathway. He doesn't do flagstone itself, but he did suggest a paver that looks just like random flagstones, but has several advantages compared to the real thing. At no time did we ever feel under any pressure to "choose him". He was simply professional, honest, and open with what he could do, and how it would be done. He sent us a detailed bid, breaking out the retaining wall and flagstone-like paver work separately, so we could do one, or both. His price for the retaining wall was in line with other estimates we'd gotten (and the paver pathway seemed reasonable, but we had no comparisons for that). In the end, we decided to go with a different contractor, who could do all the landscaping we are planning on. (Lee's company focuses on hardscapes only.) But if in the future we have a hardscape-only project, Lee will probably be our first call.

My mind was with the project my spouse and I have been working on to materialise for the longest time and we just need the courage to say yes to the initial contractor we suppose to hire. I stopped and saw three men working on someone's backyard and my feet drag me there as if someone told me to do so. I asked and got Edgar's number from one of his men. We met Edgar the next day. Edgar is true to his words. We set up a time and he arrived accordingly and he knew exactly what his clients thoughts and sentiments when it comes on putting up a project. He is chill, kind and a man who knows his craft. He would put in his suggestions and collaborated with us and came out with a very good, neat and steady design. Edgar values his clients interest and most importantly; he is very open to his clients opinions. He accommodated our wishes and both parties met in the middle and truly he is a remarkable guy to work with. The value of the money we spent is incomparable to the joy in our eyes after he and his men completed the job. Edgar responds promptly to calls and texts, he is respectful and reliable. His built his team very well as you can entrust with them the project. As we trusted Green Valley Landscape to our years long plan and they've delivered. Family, friends, colleagues and acquaintances who visited our house in different occasions praises how neat our backyard is. Mind us, the backyard they have seen is the partial plan out of the whole project but still, pleasant words were uttered. With that, we have referred them to our friends and used their service as well and they haven't got any problem with Green Valley Landscape. It is pretty much obvious with my lengthy review that I highly recommend Edgar and his team if you want to make your dream project to life for a reasonable costing. Overall, this team is superb. As I am creating this review, we are on the making of the next project so to speak, and they are still the contractors we hired to complete the job.
