Tuscan shrimp and scallop pasta was just okay- on the salty side with noodles that would have been better Al dente and/or handmade, made in-house. Don't be fooled by the white table cloth. You can totally come in without looking super dressy in here! I came on a Monday and it was calming down around 6. There were more empty tables as time passed. Happy hour is earlier so we missed the rush. Still, the waitress told us it's not busy on Monday's. I ordered the pear and Brie pizza which had exactly what it's titled in it along with arugula, prosciutto, and blue cheese. Yummy!! Loved the taste of the cheese and pear together. A nice sweet and savory mix! The crust had a nice crunch too! My other friends got a margherita pizza, a build your own pizza with all the veggies, and a balsamic salad which had pine nuts, Gorgonzola, and sun dried tomatoes. Everyone liked there's except my friend who had the salad. I'd come again though!! It's a little pricey but I liked the vibe. They played all kinds of music, from r&b to some oldies. The front area looked kind is like a classy bar. It's a great place to order wine. I believe the manager was the guy who said goodbye to us when we left. Love when the manager comes out! Visted figlio during restaurant week and was so impressed with the food they had to offer. I started with a Caesar salad, went with the chicken pasta for my main then tiramisu for dessert and all 3 were excellent. Especially the pasta, it was not too heavy at all. We also got a bottle of wine. Their restaurant week menu was $20, what a deal! We didn't see the server that much but it was a Friday night during restaurant week so it was completely understandable. Sometimes it really is nice to just be left alone. There is street parking and lot close by but honestly, parking in grandview is definitely not the easiest. This review is specifically for Figlio's January 2022 Restaurant Week! I just love this little place so much. My friend and I decided to brave the cold & snow for Figlio's January Restaurant Week menu ($25 per person), and we were not disappointed! For my three course menu, I ordered the Caesar Salad, the Prosciutto and Artichoke Pasta, and the Tiramisu for dessert. Service was very speedy and our waitress did a fantastic job of checking in on us frequently to refill beverages and bring our next courses. The Caesar Salad was a fairly basic salad (hard to mess up!), but I thoroughly enjoyed it and felt like it had just the right amount of dressing. I'm not normally a big "pasta person" and rarely order pasta when I eat out, so I was excited to switch things up a little and try the pasta at Figlio! What I really loved about the Prosciutto and Artichoke Pasta is that it did not make me feel overly full and bloated like many pastas do; it had a very light sauce and felt like a "healthier" version of pasta, if that makes sense at all. I loved the fresh spinach and tomatoes in it and the prosciutto and artichokes added the perfect salty flavor. I was thrilled that the portion size was fairly large so that I was able to keep half for lunch the next day! Finally, the tiramisu! Tiramisu is my favorite dessert of all time and I'm always on the hunt for a quality tiramisu, and this one was fabulous. Again the portion size was generous, and the flavors were phenomenal. It was rich yet somehow light, which is difficult to accomplish with tiramisu, but they've done it! I will definitely be returning to Figlio soon, even if just for dessert! One final thing I will note is that Figlio used to have a happy hour and they sadly did cancel it due to Covid, but hopefully some day they'll be able to start it up again! This was our first time trying this restaurant, and wow, have we missed out! The bread with olive oil served at the onset of our meal was so tasty, and perfect for dipping the pizza crust in. My boyfriend and I both enjoyed our personal pizza's, as they were simple and fresh, and so full of flavor. We shared the tiramisu and it truly was a delicious, decadent dessert. Oh Figlio...you are just a mere shell of what you used to be. The only thing more worn than your old carpet and dented walls is your menu. You used to be the king of them all...local, fresh, unique. Now you are just another place. Your food is still decent and the bread and oil is still a nice touch, but your portions are smaller (I counted 5 quarter size pieces of chicken in my $20 chicken and penne entree) and the dessert menu is the same as it has been for many, many years. The service was still good, but the overall experience continues to decline...so much so that you have fallen off my "tried and true" list. I would sadly rather take the risk of trying something new and being dissatisfied than being bored with you. I think it's time to take a good hard look and maybe shake things up a bit. We hadn't been to Figlio in sometime because of the pandemic and finally decided that it was time to go to one of our favorite restaurants. The evening started fine with a glass of wine and the balsamic salad. When our pizza came (Peter and Laurie's favorite pizza) it was charred not only around the edges but also far into the pizza and it tasted no where like the pizza we remembered. Finally, we decided to point out that part the pizza was inedible and shouldn't even have been brought to the table. we were comped for the pizza, enjoyed our tiramisu (still the best in Columbus) and called it an evening. I really want to like this place. The location is great and the menu interesting. The problem is I consistently have issues when I dine here. I tried again tonight. We were seated promptly for our reservation, ordered wine and an app and that went pretty well until they began seating all the large parties. After that all 2-4 tops were left to pound salt. So last night was my first experience with Figlio and I was quite impressed.. we had the whole back room for our company Holiday Party and they took great care of our party of 22! We had a menu that was smaller due to having a large private party but that menu was perfect!!! Our tables were filled with bottles of numerous wine brands and plenty of water! The bread and olive oil Blend were also on each table.. They brought out about 15-16 pizzas as appetizers and I tried about 3-4 and while they were all delish, I wanted to mention my favorite truffled mushroom! The truffle oil was the main event here and paired with mushrooms, it was probably one of the best I've ever had! It was so flavorful and I could have just stopped there and been completely happy! But oh here come the salads! I got the balsamic salad which was a perfect blend of pine nuts, Gorgonzola blue cheese and sun-dried tomatoes.. At this point I was pretty full because I had also drank the best cappuccino ever! But on to my entree the chicken diablo! I had planned to get this to go but it was so good, I ate it all! The penne pasta with the spicy cream sauce, tomatoes, chicken and spinach were the perfect combination and I do plan on getting this again! Now the waitress brings plenty of coffee and we all order dessert but mine is definitely going to be to go because I cant eat another bite but I ordered the tiramisu and I just ate it today and let me tell you I've never had better! The food was ok. Not amazing. The bread and wine were the highlights. The most disappointing part of the night was the experience. We made a reservation, arrived on time, and were rushed through our entire meal. We barely looked at the menu and the waitress was asking us to order. She came over 3 times in 5 mins. At first we thought she was being attentive then we realized she wanted us to order. This become more and more evident through the meal. At the end of the meal the wait staff was shouting to each other across the restaurant as if we weren't there. We left before 9:30 pm on a weekend night so it was not late. We had a good size party. I had the Tuscan Shrimp and Scallop entree...the flavors were sublime. A bit too oily for my tastes, but I asked for extra asparagus, mushrooms, and spinach, and they delivered. Just enough angel hair pasta that it did not overwhelm the other flavors. They re-made a pizza for my friend who has a pepper allergy, and it was also fabulous. This place was delicious! It's a tiny restaurant, so you'll need to be comfortable with being cramped if it's busy. The service is great though. I ordered the Chicken and Mushroom Ravioli. Perfecto! The flavors were perfect together and the sauce was divine. I actually ate about 95% which is more than I can usually handle lol. But the serving size isn't as big as the usual Italian restaurant. Compared to Olive Garden, it's definitely smaller portion. But I was okay with that. No doggy bag this time. I will be going back and trying other dishes because I'm very curious now, after having that delicious ravioli. They had a decent beer and wine menu too but I didn't order any at the time. What better place to go on NATIONAL PIZZA DAY?! When my husband and I lived in Grandview we used to eat here once a month - it was one of our favorite local dinner joints. The space is quaint, there's a small bar seating 5 or so people right when you walk in. The back room is very cozy and you can see the fire from the kiln and watch them actually make the pizzas. The place only fits around 50 people total I would say. We had dinner with another couple. The only complaint is that our are table across from the bar you would get the wind chill when the front doors open. If you call definitely request to sit in the back room. Dinner starts with drinks(they have wine and cocktails) and bread and oil (MY FAV). I ordered the balsamic salad and the bbq chicken pizza. I've had several of their pizzas in the past and I've always wanted to try the BBQ but hesitant because of the pineapple. All I have to say is this pizza was PHENOMENAL. The pizzas are perfect for hungry gals like myself, I finished the whole thing. Perfect crust, just like you get in Italy. It's not overly sauced, it's just right. Figlio is my go to special dinner place. I honestly thought I had written a Yelp review for this special restaurant years ago, but I was wrong. Figlio is owned by a husband wife team that were thriving lawyers that decided to trade in their law hats to not only better their quality of life, but better ours by serving incredible Italian food. If I am celebrating any occasion Figlio is usually where I find myself. Most recently we were celebrating the purchase of a new home. It was a summer evening in July and the weather was unseasonably perfect. We sat out on the intimate patio and enjoyed a perfect bottle of wine. Each evening they offer a small menu with the specials on it. That includes both a red bottle of wine and a dinner entree. We always (I mean absolutely always) just order the bottle of wine that is on special. The description of the wine on special is heart warming and mouthwatering. On this particular night they had just sold the last bottle that was on special. So we had to actually look at the wine menu and choose a wine ourselves, it was a brand new experience at Figlio. We settled on a bottle of Oberon Cabernet Sauvignon and it was incredible. Every sip tasted like a true celebration!!! I was actually happy that their wine special was sold out, because that Oberon was so good. Now on to the food. My go to every time is the Balsamic Salad and the Chicken Diablo pasta. I have heard from many servers that those are their two most ordered items and usually are paired together by the multitude of customers ordering them. It was the first menu items I ever tried at Figlio some 17 years ago and I just can not switch it up. I literally dream about the spicy, subtle sauce of the Chicken Diablo. Each bite is heaven to me. If you have never enjoyed a dinner at Figlio please find yourself there soon. The restaurant is cozy and intimate. The service is beyond friendly, accommodating, and phenomenal. The hostess, servers and kitchen team seem to work seamlessly together. I started with a tasting of the wine special for the evening, Jean-Paul Southern Rhone Red from France. First of all, there wine descriptions are to-live-for! Super fun to read and may I say, accurate! This wine was immediately added to my favorite wine list. I have food allergies -- gluten, soy and a corn sensitivity. My friend loved the bread so much that I had to order the allergen friendly alternative, and it did not disappoint! We ordered the Chicken Diablo and Classic Figlio pizza. The Chicken Diablo pasta was creamy and had good flavor. My boyfriend and I first went here for a birthday dinner and to check the place off of my restaurant list. We enjoyed it so much that we made reservations months in advance for the weekend after Valentine's Day. You can never be too careful in my opinion when good food is involved. Right off the bat, the hostess does a great job at seating everyone. I know that sounds silly, but I've been to so many restaurants where you're seated right next to another full table when the place is nearly empty. They really do honor your privacy as much as they can in such a small, intimate space. Speaking of the space, this place fills up quickly so I would recommend a reservation. It opens for dinner at 5 which was great for us because we had to get to an event by 7. All tables were full by around 6, and there were people waiting for openings as we left. The food here is really good. Your senses are awakened immediately from the complimentary bread and herbs. The herbs become intensely more fragrant the moment the olive oil is added. Everything is fresh and of quality including the oil olive itself which has its own unique flavor unlike many of the bottles you get from the grocery store. Everyone orders the Chicken Diablo, and that's good and all, but the Crab Ravioli is really the shining star. The ravioli have real crab meat and are generously filled. The sauce is creamy and a bit spicy. The shrimp add extra protein and substance, and the chopped red pepper adds texture and crunch. You'll want some extra bread to wipe the plate clean! This last time we also tried one of the wood fired oven pizzas. We ordered the Margherita Plus-plus on Honey-wheat for an appetizer. It was a light dish before our main entrees and was very tasty. The balsamic wasn't overpowering and the acidity balanced the sweeter honey crust. The avocado was also a nice creamy addition to the traditional Margherita pizza. This place has now become my go to restaurant for special occasions or just anytime when I want a really good meal. read more

The prosciutto and artichoke pasta was delicious - served with GF pasta, the prosciutto gave this dish a salt flavor with a rich garlic/olive oil sauce and tender artichokes. I came here for Columbus's Restaurant Week 2022. I was absolutely blown away! From the outside it looks like a small restaurant with a small bar. On the inside it is huge but intimate. They have beautiful decor and a large wine wall that is absolutely astounding! I believe my waiters name was Tim and he was absolutely amazing. I had the 3 course meal. My first course was Spinach/Arugula Salad. It was refreshing and delicious. For my second course I had the Chicken and Roasted Red Pepper Cream Sauce Pasta, which was so delicious and filling to the perfect amount. My date had the Prosciutto and Artichoke pasta which was also delicious! For our dessert courses we had Tiramisu which was pretty tasty and the Creme Brûlée. This is the best Creme Brûlée I've ever had! I will definitely be back, for the ambiance, the amazing staff, the delicious pasta, the tasty wine and the awesome Creme Brûlée ! The staff is welcoming and efficient, and our server Lauren was quite excellent. This restaurant would be a good date night spot. The pizza I ordered was the Pistachios with Vermont Goat Cheese which was made of goat cheese, asparagus, red pepper, pistachios and local honey. It was the perfect combination of sweet and savory, and it was served at just the right temperature. The pasta dishes also looked well prepared and tasty. Each meal is served with complimentary bread and Italian herb dipping oil. The Italian herb dipping oil is some of the best I have tasted at an Italian restaurant! I love this place! I love fresh bread and quality olive oil/cracked pepper to dip in, but never again at this restaurant. They load, and I mean load, the olive oil with a gamete of herbs, it was absolutely too much. Thyme, rosemary, sage, oregano, and so on. The bread was soft and fresh, but I was bummed I couldn't enjoy it with the accompaniment. The lettuce in the Balsamic Salad had a distinct after-taste of "packaged". And, WAY too much dressing (excessive puckering). Couldn't taste The pine nuts, sun-dried tomatoes, or gorgonzola. Sad face. The Lemon Chicken pasta dish had too much lemon; couldn't taste the parmesan cheese (why put it in the title of the dish if you can't taste it...). Chicken & Avocado pizza was good. Crust could have used a bit more seasoning/flavor. The avocado chunks were ripe and flavorful; unfortunately, they were rather small, but skimpy toppings does sometimes come with the title "artisan pizza". Really liked the chipotle drizzle because it didn't overwhelm the other toppings. Nice seasoned chicken. Tiramisu was very good. Just the right "coffee taste". This dish was a happy face! Our waitress was polite, and sitting at the front patio was great - perfect for people watching as happy hour started to rev up. Would I go back to Figlio? Not on my own volition. I can't say that this is the best most perfect pizza place here because I'm not a local. Having traveled extensively though and sampling many pizzerias, this is about as near perfect and one can get. The crust was perfectly made, not to thick, not to thin and not soggy and droopy in the middle. The toppings were fresh and amazing. Everything about it showed that the chef takes great care into his work of art. We also had their spaghetti dish and that too was delicious. Finally the device was friendly and efficient and the restaurant was charming and clean. If I lived here, this would be a regular spot for me to visit. read more
