Went with a few girlfriends for dinner and drinks. Had a great server and good pizza. I definitely want to try the pasta next time. You also get complementary bread, that was delish. The environment of the restaurant was so welcoming. Will be back for more dinners!!
Figs have a special place in Italian cuisine and so it is no surprise that this classic Italian spot has figs in their name. After this riveting fig fact, you'll expect me to get a fig dish but I might have wiffed a little on that. Getting in was surprisingly easy for a Grandview restaurant. Plus, I love how they comp an hour of parking! On the food - the real reason why I go out of my house outside of work, i was tempted by their Tuscan shrimp and scallops and it did not disappoint. Probably the best decision I've made all week. I loved the contrast of textures that the pine nuts offered. The shrimp and scallops are fresh and perfectly cooked. The pasta was a little overdone but it is still one stellar dish. In a city not known for their seafood, figlio might have delivered!
Easily 5 stars. I have never been disappointed anytime I have gone here. Outstanding! My compliments to the chef and Eva our server. She did a wonderful job not only making us feel welcome but recommended drinks and dinner. Extremely friendly and a lovely person. I ordered the Lake Erie walleye and talk about perfect! The recommended wine was the villa Barbi Italian red blend. Such a perfect winner to compliment my meal. Thank you everyone for creating a special place in Ohio. You're doing it right, keep it up!
We decided to try Figlio out for Restaurant Week. The atmosphere was quaint and cozy and they had a great selection of wines. The Restaurant Week menu was salad, entrée and dessert for $30 which was a great deal. I really enjoyed my arugula, spiinach and goat cheese salad (the flavor profiles were great!), but the pacing of the next course was frustrating as we began our salads, the meal immediately came out. The prosciutto and artichoke entrée was delicious as well with a light garlic sauce over fresh pasta with spinach and tomatoes. I finished with the crème brulee which was the star of the show! I liked Figlio. I don't think they have a happy hour, but I'd definitely give them another shot.
I heard great things about Figlio & was so excited to try. Unfortunately, my expectations were not met. Ordered a couple entrées for pick up and was sorely disappointed with my pizza. I got the Margherita plus plus pizza and it came out cold, without the balsamic glaze. I arrived just as the order was finished and I could understand if it was busy and perhaps had been sitting awhile, however, all the servers were sitting at the bar and it was dead inside. I included a picture of how it's advertised online vrs what was served.
The food here is always a win. And the service was great. Thank you for taking good care of us, Alyssa! We went for Restaurant Week. For starters I enjoyed a very dirty Tito's martini with extra Gorgonzola stuffed olives. I had the Caesar salad, pasta with chicken and red pepper cream sauce, and the tiramisu. The Caesar salad was a bit bland I admit - it needed more garlic. But the lettuce was super cold which I love. The pasta was amazing. Super creamy with plenty of sauce for the bread which they serve with a yummy olive oil and herb mixture. The olive oil is a very good quality - bright and green. The tiramisu - WOW! The best I've had. They make everything they serve from scratch there. But the tiramisu is delivered from New York City bc it's that good. It's worth going here just for the tiramisu. We will Be back soon!
Pizza-centric but don't sleep on the bread, wine and dessert. Got a table for two on a Friday night around 8:00 without a reservation. I was surprised at the large size of the place because you only see one half of the dining room when walking in the front door. We sat in the second room with the bar, and the dim lights set a perfect date night ambiance. Upon being seated we received a plate of their focaccia and oil, and it stands out in a great way against other Italian restaurants. From there we had three glasses of wine at about $10-$11 per glass. The fall harvest pizza had a spicy kick (as described on the menu) and was solid. I liked prosciutto hot honey pizza a little better, but I feel like I would have liked any of their pizzas due to the not too crisp/not too thin thin flatbread crust. Finished up with the voodoo brownie and tiramisu. Tiramisu was good; voodoo brownie topped with ice cream and drenched in chocolate was great. Lastly the service was outstanding. Very nice and attentive, and they smoothly handled the gift certificate that we used for a portion of the tab. Grandview Ave has many restaurants to choose from between 1st and 5th Aves, but Figlio will not disappoint.
First time here for restaurant week. I loved the space. It was super cozy and warmly lit. I was overall impressed by the food. The bread and oil for the table is remarkably yummy and addictive. Salad was fresh and pasta was properly cooked. Unfortunately my tiramisu was frozen solid in the middle. I also found our server to be detached and seemingly annoyed to be there. But I'd give them another shot to try the regular menu. It would be a fantastic date night spot.
Loved my experience here! We had the margarita pizza, chicken diablo, and lemon chicken with Parmesan cream pasta. I think the pizza had to be my favorite, but everything was delicious! They also offered complementary bread and oil wish was amazing! Knocked off one star ONLY because I wish the appetizer list was better! They only offer salads as an appetizer. I'd suggest adding calamari, arancini, meatballs, etc!
Came here on a Tuesday night for dinner. They have been around for over 20 years and for good reason. We started with the cote du Rhône wine special, the bartender gave us a taste before we ordered. They brought the bread with olive oil over almost instantly, the herbs were a great touch. We shared the smoked salmon pizza special and the chicken Diablo pasta. The wood fired pizza was wonderful, crispy on the bottom, but still light and airy on top. The pasta was the perfect blend of creamy and not too spicy, chicken was very tender. Will for sure come back
I went to Figlio during Columbus Restaurant week and had a great experience. I made a reservation prior by calling which I strongly suggest as it was busy but maybe because of frustrating because I had been there one time before. My friend and I ordered the three-course meal which included a fantastic salad, Spinach/Arugula Salad Gomes sprouts with vinaigrette, pear, honey glazed pecans, chevre, pickled red onions. It was super delicious and highly recommended by me! I also got to try a seltzer that was in a can, Seventh Son's Guava-Lime Seltzer. It was such a good mix with the food For my main course, I had a pasta dish that I cannot find the name of as the restaurant week menu is now expired. Everything that I had was super good and I will 100% be back. Here's also a picture of my crème brûlée, my friends Tiramisu and her pizza.
Tonight I ordered the margherita personal pizza and the Shrimp and Artichoke pasta using DoorDash. I wouldn't order this again. For the cost of $49 it was not a good value. I was so disappointed with the margherita pizza. I did like the crust on this pizza but the topping was underwhelming. The pizza was almost entirely crust. read more
This is a favorite local restaurant, moderately priced for my wallet and a welcoming comfortable feel. The first thing you notice when you walk in the door is a distinctive decoration - on the wall opposite the door there is always a group of something hanging from nails and wires. Sometimes it is flowers, other times it is other things. Very unique, distinctive, and it defines the space. The signature dishes on the menu bar are brick oven pizzas, and pasta dishes. Thank contemporary American Italianesque cooking. My absolute favorite amongst the pasta is the Chicken Diablo. Not too spicy, so it doesn't burn your face and mouth off, but the correct amount so you can adequately taste the pepper and feel it's warmth in the pasta sauce. I'm also a fan of the Five Cheese & Basil Pizza. The staff are friendly and communicative. And it appears that the restauranteurs have a bit of an archetype (and I mean this in a very good way) for the folks who are selected to work there. The employees know their products and are able to talk about it and not simply recite menu selections by rote. read more
We've had a couple of meals at Figlio over the past month, and one was excellent, and one was just "fine." A few weeks ago we walked in without a reservation and got pizzas, and both were truly excellent -- mine had truffled mushrooms, and was quite memorable. Likewise, the table bread with olive oil (provided gratis) was perhaps the most delicious table bread either of us had ever had... On our most recent visit yesterday, we also went in early on a Friday evening without a reservation, and were seated quickly without issue. We decided to try something other than pizza, so my girlfriend ordered the drunken shrimp, and I ordered the shrimp scampi. The food came out very quickly -- perhaps five minutes after we ordered it -- which was a surprise. Unfortunately, neither of us loved our entrees. My girlfriend's drunken shrimp was quite spicy, which was not mentioned on the entree description (i.e. is vodka sauce ever spicy?), while my scampi was quite bland and watery, and the shrimp was quite rubbery. I understand that they must use frozen shrimp, which is fine, but these shrimp certainly weren't appetizing, and the scampi itself lacked flavor. Additionally, it was peppered with cherry tomatoes -- something I don't like -- which were certainly not in the entree description. All told, one great experience and one so-so experience warrants a third visit at some point. Service, decor, atmosphere, and price are all great, so we'll know to simply avoid their pasta and stick to their delicious pizzas. read more

Don't be fooled by the white table cloth. You can totally come in without looking super dressy in here! I came on a Monday and it was calming down around 6. There were more empty tables as time passed. Happy hour is earlier so we missed the rush. Still, the waitress told us it's not busy on Monday's. You get bread for the table to dip in olive oil with seasoning. Wow. So good! I ordered the pear and Brie pizza which had exactly what it's titled in it along with arugula, prosciutto, and blue cheese. Yummy!! Loved the taste of the cheese and pear together. A nice sweet and savory mix! The crust had a nice crunch too! My other friends got a margherita pizza, a build your own pizza with all the veggies, and a balsamic salad which had pine nuts, Gorgonzola, and sun dried tomatoes. Everyone liked there's except my friend who had the salad. I'd come again though!! It's a little pricey but I liked the vibe. They played all kinds of music, from r&b to some oldies. The front area looked kind is like a classy bar. It's a great place to order wine. I believe the manager was the guy who said goodbye to us when we left. Love when the manager comes out! We were a group of four which is what most tables can seat. It's not really a place where I would bring ten people. Anyway, they've got some of the best pizza in town! read more

Visted figlio during restaurant week and was so impressed with the food they had to offer. I started with a Caesar salad, went with the chicken pasta for my main then tiramisu for dessert and all 3 were excellent. Especially the pasta, it was not too heavy at all. We also got a bottle of wine. Their restaurant week menu was $20, what a deal! We didn't see the server that much but it was a Friday night during restaurant week so it was completely understandable. Sometimes it really is nice to just be left alone. There is street parking and lot close by but honestly, parking in grandview is definitely not the easiest. So I would consider parking luck of the draw. read more
This review is specifically for Figlio's January 2022 Restaurant Week! I just love this little place so much. My friend and I decided to brave the cold & snow for Figlio's January Restaurant Week menu ($25 per person), and we were not disappointed! For my three course menu, I ordered the Caesar Salad, the Prosciutto and Artichoke Pasta, and the Tiramisu for dessert. Service was very speedy and our waitress did a fantastic job of checking in on us frequently to refill beverages and bring our next courses. The Caesar Salad was a fairly basic salad (hard to mess up!), but I thoroughly enjoyed it and felt like it had just the right amount of dressing. I'm not normally a big "pasta person" and rarely order pasta when I eat out, so I was excited to switch things up a little and try the pasta at Figlio! What I really loved about the Prosciutto and Artichoke Pasta is that it did not make me feel overly full and bloated like many pastas do; it had a very light sauce and felt like a "healthier" version of pasta, if that makes sense at all. I loved the fresh spinach and tomatoes in it and the prosciutto and artichokes added the perfect salty flavor. I was thrilled that the portion size was fairly large so that I was able to keep half for lunch the next day! Finally, the tiramisu! Tiramisu is my favorite dessert of all time and I'm always on the hunt for a quality tiramisu, and this one was fabulous. Again the portion size was generous, and the flavors were phenomenal. It was rich yet somehow light, which is difficult to accomplish with tiramisu, but they've done it! I will definitely be returning to Figlio soon, even if just for dessert! One final thing I will note is that Figlio used to have a happy hour and they sadly did cancel it due to Covid, but hopefully some day they'll be able to start it up again! Overall I highly recommend coming to Figlio for Restaurant Week, or really any time at all, for a cozy Italian meal. read more

This was our first time trying this restaurant, and wow, have we missed out! The bread with olive oil served at the onset of our meal was so tasty, and perfect for dipping the pizza crust in. My boyfriend and I both enjoyed our personal pizza's, as they were simple and fresh, and so full of flavor. We shared the tiramisu and it truly was a delicious, decadent dessert. Our waitress was friendly, the ambiance was classy, but not uncomfortable, and the prices of the pizzas were reasonable. I'm looking forward to having my left overs as lunch tomorrow! read more

Stopped here to get some pizza before the Grandview Hop. I love the atmosphere of this place. The table bread and oil they bring out was amazing. I didn't try any drinks here. I got the 5 cheese pizza and wasn't a big fan. I will like to go back and try other items such as the pasta one day. read more

Figlio is a family favorite and has equally amazing pasta and pizza! I normally get a pizza since they are cooked to perfection with delicious toppings, but on this night I went with a pasta. I got the Drunken Shrimp without any shrimp and it was awesome!! Looking back at this photo is making me hungry and was spectacular paired with the Cabernet. Definitely coming back for this dish! read more

This was my first time at Figlio and it did not disappoint. I have seen this restaurant for years but never had the chance to try it. I'm glad I did! It may be an Italian restaurant but their gluten free menu is large! The place is small inside but they have dining on the outside. It's on the Grandview strip so you can watch the hustle and bustle while eating a delicious meal. I can't wait to go back again! read more

I've lived in Grandview for over 10 years and always seem to forget and take for granted the jewel spots. Figlio is one of those jewels. Every time I go there I come away with a great experience. My partner and I went awhile back and everything from the bread to the wine to the actual incredible meal was perfect. Our server was Sam and she was the best! She helped us decide what wine would perfectly pair with our courses and was there for our every need. My gf got the truffled mushroom pizza and every bite was delicious. I got the chicken Diablo pasta and was already planning my next visit before I was done. So do yourself a favor and go soon! read more

This place was delicious! It's a tiny restaurant, so you'll need to be comfortable with being cramped if it's busy. The service is great though. I ordered the Chicken and Mushroom Ravioli. Perfecto! The flavors were perfect together and the sauce was divine. I actually ate about 95% which is more than I can usually handle lol. But the serving size isn't as big as the usual Italian restaurant. Compared to Olive Garden, it's definitely smaller portion. But I was okay with that. No doggy bag this time. I will be going back and trying other dishes because I'm very curious now, after having that delicious ravioli. They had a decent beer and wine menu too but I didn't order any at the time. I suggest you give it a try! read more
Yesterday we went to Figlio for a nice quiet dinner. We sat right by the window and was able to look out on Grandview. We had the Truffle Pizza , the Basil Chicken pasta and Red Blend wine. We split the two dishes and it was plenty of food! Both were very yummy. They are known for their wood pizzas which are thin crust and delicious! read more

So last night was my first experience with Figlio and I was quite impressed.. we had the whole back room for our company Holiday Party and they took great care of our party of 22! We had a menu that was smaller due to having a large private party but that menu was perfect!!! Our tables were filled with bottles of numerous wine brands and plenty of water! The bread and olive oil Blend were also on each table.. They brought out about 15-16 pizzas as appetizers and I tried about 3-4 and while they were all delish, I wanted to mention my favorite truffled mushroom! The truffle oil was the main event here and paired with mushrooms, it was probably one of the best I've ever had! It was so flavorful and I could have just stopped there and been completely happy! But oh here come the salads! I got the balsamic salad which was a perfect blend of pine nuts, Gorgonzola blue cheese and sun-dried tomatoes.. At this point I was pretty full because I had also drank the best cappuccino ever! But on to my entree the chicken diablo! I had planned to get this to go but it was so good, I ate it all! The penne pasta with the spicy cream sauce, tomatoes, chicken and spinach were the perfect combination and I do plan on getting this again! Now the waitress brings plenty of coffee and we all order dessert but mine is definitely going to be to go because I cant eat another bite but I ordered the tiramisu and I just ate it today and let me tell you I've never had better! The entire evening was completely terrific and I'm not sure anything could have been any better! read more
Figlio never disappoints! Came here on a Friday evening for a birthday celebration and we had great seRvice and even better food! This time around I had ordered chicken diablo pasta and it was mouth watering! This was so filling, you definitely share. I have also ordered their wood fire pizzas before and they are perfection! 10/10 will recommend and will come back. read more
What better place to go on NATIONAL PIZZA DAY?! When my husband and I lived in Grandview we used to eat here once a month - it was one of our favorite local dinner joints. The space is quaint, there's a small bar seating 5 or so people right when you walk in. The back room is very cozy and you can see the fire from the kiln and watch them actually make the pizzas. The place only fits around 50 people total I would say. We had dinner with another couple. The only complaint is that our are table across from the bar you would get the wind chill when the front doors open. If you call definitely request to sit in the back room. Dinner starts with drinks(they have wine and cocktails) and bread and oil (MY FAV). I ordered the balsamic salad and the bbq chicken pizza. I've had several of their pizzas in the past and I've always wanted to try the BBQ but hesitant because of the pineapple. All I have to say is this pizza was PHENOMENAL. The pizzas are perfect for hungry gals like myself, I finished the whole thing. Perfect crust, just like you get in Italy. It's not overly sauced, it's just right. Figlio is my go to special dinner place. I honestly thought I had written a Yelp review for this special restaurant years ago, but I was wrong. Figlio is owned by a husband wife team that were thriving lawyers that decided to trade in their law hats to not only better their quality of life, but better ours by serving incredible Italian food. If I am celebrating any occasion Figlio is usually where I find myself. Most recently we were celebrating the purchase of a new home. It was a summer evening in July and the weather was unseasonably perfect. We sat out on the intimate patio and enjoyed a perfect bottle of wine. Each evening they offer a small menu with the specials on it. That includes both a red bottle of wine and a dinner entree. We always (I mean absolutely always) just order the bottle of wine that is on special. The description of the wine on special is heart warming and mouthwatering. On this particular night they had just sold the last bottle that was on special. So we had to actually look at the wine menu and choose a wine ourselves, it was a brand new experience at Figlio. We settled on a bottle of Oberon Cabernet Sauvignon and it was incredible. Every sip tasted like a true celebration!!! I was actually happy that their wine special was sold out, because that Oberon was so good. Now on to the food. My go to every time is the Balsamic Salad and the Chicken Diablo pasta. I have heard from many servers that those are their two most ordered items and usually are paired together by the multitude of customers ordering them. It was the first menu items I ever tried at Figlio some 17 years ago and I just can not switch it up. I literally dream about the spicy, subtle sauce of the Chicken Diablo. Each bite is heaven to me. If you have never enjoyed a dinner at Figlio please find yourself there soon. The restaurant is cozy and intimate. The service is beyond friendly, accommodating, and phenomenal. The food is absolutely phenomenal. And the wine is perfect. Read the special menu and try a bottle of their special wine offering. read more

The service, atmosphere and aesthetic at Figlio is immaculate. Love the small, family feel and the camaraderie sensed between the staff. The hostess, servers and kitchen team seem to work seamlessly together. I started with a tasting of the wine special for the evening, Jean-Paul Southern Rhone Red from France. First of all, there wine descriptions are to-live-for! Super fun to read and may I say, accurate! This wine was immediately added to my favorite wine list. I have food allergies -- gluten, soy and a corn sensitivity. My friend loved the bread so much that I had to order the allergen friendly alternative, and it did not disappoint! We ordered the Chicken Diablo and Classic Figlio pizza. The Chicken Diablo pasta was creamy and had good flavor. Our pizza wasn't what we were expecting, after asking for it to be put back in oven it was more enjoyable. Allie had a great personality and provided consistent and authentic service. We will definitely be back. Great value!! Upscale at an affordable price. read more

My boyfriend and I first went here for a birthday dinner and to check the place off of my restaurant list. We enjoyed it so much that we made reservations months in advance for the weekend after Valentine's Day. You can never be too careful in my opinion when good food is involved. Right off the bat, the hostess does a great job at seating everyone. I know that sounds silly, but I've been to so many restaurants where you're seated right next to another full table when the place is nearly empty. They really do honor your privacy as much as they can in such a small, intimate space. Speaking of the space, this place fills up quickly so I would recommend a reservation. It opens for dinner at 5 which was great for us because we had to get to an event by 7. All tables were full by around 6, and there were people waiting for openings as we left. The food here is really good. Your senses are awakened immediately from the complimentary bread and herbs. The herbs become intensely more fragrant the moment the olive oil is added. Everything is fresh and of quality including the oil olive itself which has its own unique flavor unlike many of the bottles you get from the grocery store. Everyone orders the Chicken Diablo, and that's good and all, but the Crab Ravioli is really the shining star. The ravioli have real crab meat and are generously filled. The sauce is creamy and a bit spicy. The shrimp add extra protein and substance, and the chopped red pepper adds texture and crunch. You'll want some extra bread to wipe the plate clean! This last time we also tried one of the wood fired oven pizzas. We ordered the Margherita Plus-plus on Honey-wheat for an appetizer. It was a light dish before our main entrees and was very tasty. The balsamic wasn't overpowering and the acidity balanced the sweeter honey crust. The avocado was also a nice creamy addition to the traditional Margherita pizza. This place has now become my go to restaurant for special occasions or just anytime when I want a really good meal. read more

I came here for Columbus's Restaurant Week 2022. I was absolutely blown away! From the outside it looks like a small restaurant with a small bar. On the inside it is huge but intimate. They have beautiful decor and a large wine wall that is absolutely astounding! I believe my waiters name was Tim and he was absolutely amazing. I had the 3 course meal. My first course was Spinach/Arugula Salad. It was refreshing and delicious. For my second course I had the Chicken and Roasted Red Pepper Cream Sauce Pasta, which was so delicious and filling to the perfect amount. My date had the Prosciutto and Artichoke pasta which was also delicious! For our dessert courses we had Tiramisu which was pretty tasty and the Creme Brûlée. This is the best Creme Brûlée I've ever had! I will definitely be back, for the ambiance, the amazing staff, the delicious pasta, the tasty wine and the awesome Creme Brûlée ! I highly recommend this restaurant. P.S the bread is soooooo good ! read more
Figlio adds to the irresistible charm of Grandview. This restaurant has a warm and inviting ambiance as soon as you walk in the front door. The staff is welcoming and efficient, and our server Lauren was quite excellent. This restaurant would be a good date night spot. I ordered pizza, and I highly recommend the pizza because of the great choice of ingredients and wonderful preparation. The menu offers a wide selection of wood-fired pizza and pasta dishes. The pizza I ordered was the Pistachios with Vermont Goat Cheese which was made of goat cheese, asparagus, red pepper, pistachios and local honey. It was the perfect combination of sweet and savory, and it was served at just the right temperature. The pasta dishes also looked well prepared and tasty. Each meal is served with complimentary bread and Italian herb dipping oil. The Italian herb dipping oil is some of the best I have tasted at an Italian restaurant! I love this place! It is a great family owned business. No wonder it has been around for 25 year! read more
Enjoyed this place, it was easy to get a reservation on a Saturday which is how ended up there. The atmosphere and servers were great! They have a good selection of wines and even offer half bottles which I enjoy because my mom and I don't like the same kind so sharing a bottle never works for us. It was nice to could get more than a glass at a decent price. I had the drunken shrimp and the sauce was amazing but the noodles literally tasted like they were the type you buy out of the box.
