Decided to give Minico's a try about six months ago after always seeing it and knowing it was there, but you know how it is, sometimes trying you can be a little hesitant to give a spot a try. Minico's does a great job delivering good food at good prices and in good quantities (this is important when feeding a household of four adults). Our oldest (22) likes the pizzas and our youngest (18) is a fan of the stromboli. I've been dining at Minico's for years and have never had a bad meal here. The food and the service are great. Mandy has been our server on many occassions and is always very efficent, pleasant and upbeat. She never rushes you and always takes time to chat. On this particular visit, my wife and I both had the chicken parm which comes with a house salad, a side of spaghetti and a dinner roll. Their house salads are always excellent (generous with the extras) and the chicken parm must have come from a GIANT chicken - the portion was huge. I absolutely LOVE Minicos pizza! We have been going there for years, mostly take out for pizza. Their crust is so crispy and they have crumbled sausage! I don't often go to places without pizza in the name to get pizza, but Minico's may have changed that. I ordered the Italian sub and a cheese pizza with roasted peppers. The first thing I noticed was the golden crisp of both of the doughs, with the gentlest crack with every mouthwatering bite. Once I got through the breading, the flavor of the ingredients whisked me away to the farms they came from. I could taste the fresh tomatoes with every bite of the pizza and each spice in the meat of the sub. The staff was very nice and someone came out of the kitchen to help me when he noticed the person at the register was occupied. The inside of the restaurant also had a very cozy atmosphere. One thing that I must comment on is that I originally wanted a cheese pizza but they are priced as cheese with one topping. I don't know if they add extra cheese to make up for the price of one topping but this is the first place I have seen that starts pricing with one topping instead of just cheese. I will be highly recommending this restaurant to people on their hunt for delicious pizza. read more

Busy Friday night, some chaos at the host stand between pick ups and dine in patrons. We were seated eventually. Ordered, drinks etc. All fine. This is the type of place I went to in high-school, folksy, local, in no way high brow or hipster with lots of young high-school aged (seemed like first jobs) wait staff. Italian wedding soup has too much egg or I'm used to other clear broth versions. Only a few meatballs so I would likely pass next time. We ordered 2 medium pizzas, and half size "uncle special" spaghetti with peppers and onions. I found it just the right size and still took some home. One pizza had a mix up (requested remove banana peppers on half because I'm the only ohioian that doesn't like them) they offered to remake, some confusion that it would come off the bill, but it didn't. But th3y brought it boxed to us so we got that pizza for free. I literally didn't care and picked off the offending banana peppers. Again, casual dining place. Large retiree crowd, it's a local family restaurant. No fuss place. Clean tables and bathrooms. A nice, not amazing Friday night dinner out. read more

Minicos you all surprised us. We wanted something casual and we wanted pizza. It has been years since we last had Minicos and this was when they were in Sunbury Rd. It had been that long. After work I stopped in for the first time. I placed a carryout order for an Italian Sub and Italian Wedding Soup. My order was ready in less than 10 minutes. I started with the soup which I thought $4.50 for a small container was quite a high price. It had quite a bit of egg and spinach and 4 little meatballs. To me it was like eating Egg Drop Soup. The Italian sub was wrapped in paper then in foil. When I opened it, it was cold. The bread had sesame seeds on top which I thought was odd and the bread was not toasted. Minico's is our favorite pizza. We usually order the "All The Way" pizza. The sauce is made on site and it's fantastic. Nice thin crust and packed with toppings. I don't understand how one can make alfredo taste like absolutely nothing, but boy someone certainly did. I got the alfredo linguine - which in itself is a strange pasta choice for alfredo but go off I guess - and I got the garlic bread with cheese. Both tasted like I was eating nothing, it was like someone had an allergy to seasoning and didn't want to salt the water while they were making the pasta. The only thing I tasted with the garlic bread with cheese was the oil that was soaked into the bread. Not the garlic nor the cheese itself. It was astonishing. Disappointed. We got a 14 inch pepperoni and meat lasagna. Pizza was pretty solid, though the dough was less crispy and flakier than our first visit a month ago. Plenty of pep so points for that. I added Parmesan to the photos on the review. Overall I recommend the pizza. Much better than donatos. The 'meat lasagna' was a disappointment and will not order again nor recommend to anyone. Unfortunately after first look and taste I was reminded of a frozen lasagna that you would heat up in a microwave at the office. This lasagna had some meat hidden in it, but tasted solely cheese and play dough. Yeah, play dough (I have a kid so I know the taste). On the plus side it came with a dinner roll that looked to be of the frozen kind likely prepared in some giant factory off site, and a side salad. The wife said she would order the side salad again. It was a typical pizza shop salad with pep, chopped tomato's, banana peppers and other items to make it interesting. I hope I got them on an off day, but unfortunately the lasagna was bad enough for me to pull up yelp and spend 10 minutes writing this review. Stick to the pizza. read more

I'm learning, when you find a good thing, syick to it. We were thinking of having Minnico's or trying Romeo's. We've had Minnico's, so we tried Romeo's and it was the worst food we've eaten. She raved about the marinara. I found it good. Not sweet. Not extraordinary. I prefer mine a bit more Diablo. The meatballs were a good size. Not baseballs, not marbles. Plenty of meat, without seeing or tasting a lot of filler. This was on the open face smothered dish. Pizza was great. Thin and crispy, just the way we like it. It wasn't brittle like a cracker. Just thick enough to give a slight chew. Cheese had great stretchability. No snap back, like fake rubbery imitation cheese. The pepperoni had great seasoning. Service was quite a bit off. I think the server was preoccupied with getting his work done for closing. That cost an entire star. We will return! read more

Walked in and it was packed with only one waitress working the floor. The only two open tables needed cleaned. One was a table beside me and the other a booth on the other end of the room. After about 5 minutes as the waitress was walking by, she said give me a minute to clean a table for you. A few minutes later an older guy comes out from the kitchen and points to me to sit at the booth across the room that looked clean from a distance. As I sit it's obvious that the table was never wiped off and I didn't have much room in the booth. I decided to move to the other dirty table since it would give me more room. A few minutes later a lady comes out of the kitchen and starts cleaning a booth that nobody was sitting at that a Customer just got up from. I hear her say to someone that they are short staffed. No big deal to me as I saw that the moment I walked in the door. The lady walks by my table towards the kitchen and I hear her say 'people need to be a little more patient when waiting for a seat. We waited about 7 or 8 more minutes without anyone acknowledging we were there. We got up and quietly left. After I left it hit me that she probably directed that comment to me not knowing the guy tried to sit us at a different table. This is the first bad experience I had in ten visits. I love eating at non-chain locations. So tonight my wife and I decided to try Minico's Italian Restaurant for a peperoni pizza. I know we tried Minico's years ago but I didn't remember whether I liked it or not. First appearances showing up on a busy Friday night, everyone was courteous, friendly and smiling. The place was clean. Thumbs up for that. I saw them cutting my pizza when I arrived so they were accurate in the pick-up time they described. As far as pizza is concerned, in my opinion it's difficult to find an awful pizza. It's even more difficult to find an amazing pizza, where the combination of crust, sauce, cheese and peperoni merge to create that one great taste. And Minico's comes so close. The cheese is outstanding. The peperoni is good and makes a nice complement with the taste of the cheese. The crust was solid, with a good texture. But the sauce... Minico's... what's up with the bland, nearly tasteless sauce. Walking through the restaurant to the pick-up counter, looking at all of the Italian food being served, I was not prepared for the virtually tasteless sauce. I even tried scraping some off of the pizza onto my finger to taste it directly. Just plain bland, so little tomato flavor. Create a robust, flavorful sauce and you would be near the top of the pizza food chain. After eating it tonight, I now remember why I forgot about your pizza years ago. It's close to being great, but in the end it's just another good pizza. read more

Temporarily relocating to the CVS strip mall a little north on Sunbury while a new restaurant is built. When we moved to Ohio in 2008, this was one of the first places we ate and we LOVE it. We were treated like family right away and the servers always remember us even when it had been over a year since our last visit. Our service has always been great, though sometimes slow. Our opinion is that the pizza is over priced. However, I haven't been able to find anything like their white pizza anywhere else so I pay it happily. My second favorite is the lasagna. The house salad dressing is my husbands favorite and he loves the toasted ravioli. We have tried lots of other items and we have never been disappointed. Give this place a try when they are rebuilt and back in business! read more

Went here at around 5 today. Ordered a plain garlic bread and 10" pepperoni pizza and a Pepsi. Pepsi was served right away. They brought out a cheese bread, which I had them return, waited quite a while for them to return with correct order. Well the floor manager came out with the pizza next, no garlic bread. She re-ordered the garlic bread again. Continued to eat the pizza, waitress Debbie came back and put a carry out box down on the table, not sure why. Finally finished the pizza. Debbie came by yet again and no garlic bread. She assured me it was coming. She went away and came back. Still no garlic bread. She tried to assure me that it would be here soon. Went to Minico's last night...we love the food there so we were really looking forward to it. We were outright ignored by the wait staff. I would try and call someone over, wave my hands...anything! They sat tables around us and those tables were immediately served. It was so frustrating to see that happen. Expecially since half of the workers there were sitting at other tables playing on their phones. The food at Minico's is pretty good...but don't go if you're very hungry-you may have to really work for your meal! read more
