I heard a bit of hype on this spot from some folks at work, and while me and the fam were out doing a few errands, thought we'd stop by and give it a shot for lunch. I'll start off by saying that this spot was very clean, especially during the afternoon rush. I'll start off with the wings since I'm a wing kinda guy. I was really thrown off by the dry season for mango habanero, I was expecting these wings to be sauced up. Honestly they weren't bad. Not the best, but still delicious for dry rub of this flavor. The sub was not your run of the mill sandwich, this sub had a generous portion of meat to it. Very good sub for lunch. Pizza was really nothing spectacular, and let be be fair, this wasn't a terrible pizza, it was just a pizza. For a thin crust, was a tad let down with the flimsiness of each slice. And maybe I need to start ordering pizza a little well done. Maybe it's my fault. Still, I need to be fair here with my review, the service was very good. There was hardly a wait for the drink orders to be taken and served, and the server was very customer focused and very engaged. Will we come back, yes, more than likely. We ordered over the phone for pick up. Order was taken by AI answer service. Took over 5 minutes to get her to understand what we wanted. That service is a joke. Went to pick it up and when we got home it was the wrong pizza we ordered, she apparently didn't understand what we wanted. If a pizza place can't have someone answer the phone at that location they shouldn't be in business. The sub was good. Probably won't be back. Our first time here and we were very, very tired, we mistakenly thought we were stopping at the Cottage Inn for pizza. We quickly realized our mistake upon arrival. We did, however, find a comfy, cozy place to relax with family and friends while enjoying this Ohio style pizza that has made a lasting impression with us. We like lots of toppings, especially the cupping style pepperoni and plenty of iced tea. We're still deciding the cost value vs experienced received. It's 50/50. Delivery came quickly and pizza was hot. We were less thrilled with the very heavy toppings on a nice thin crust. Would love a better balance. Even the single topping pepperoni had way too much. This Pizza Cottage is located off Hill road and Refugee road in Pickerington. We stopped into this location after supporting a friend's son during the rivalry football game between North vs Central. We arrived around 10:30 pm with a large appetite and thrist. Ordered some drinks and a medium pizza with some of our favorite toppings. Cocktails were light on the pour but didn't expect a heavy pour non the less. The service was slow to acknowledge we drank our cocktails fast with no offer of another. That didn't sit well with me so we just didn't ask for another by the time our pizza arrived. We got pepperoni, mushrooms, sausage and banana peppers. The pizza was edge to edge toppings and crispy throughout. Who likes a middle piece and that piece is soggy, nope, not this pizza! Deliciously crispy and I had to fight with my husband for those middle pieces. Not usually a thing. Ha. The sauce was sweet, the sausage was chunky, salty and big, the mushrooms were slightly rubbery and banana peppers gave this all character. This pizza place has all the makings of a great foundation, however, a few things would make this a 4-5 star. The quality of toppings are everything to tie the pizza together and attentiveness of the service staff. The perfect amount of sauce and cheese along with the crispy crust was the winner. The manager decided since they got a big order from Amazon that they would make our order and deliver it an hour early at 5pm. I was still open and assisting my customers when someone walks in with my order, before all the people eating had even arrived or before I closed my store. It'd be one thing if the order was late but you sent it an hour early to make your life easier to cook for another order you decided was more important. While visiting family they brought me to Pizza Cottage for lunch. They clearly come in a lot bc waiter, Eric, knew them and their orders. He was a good waiter so explained their loyalty. Mozzarella Bites... The triangles were not my favorite, but the sauce was good. I prefer actual mozzarella sticks. Side Garden Salad... I love a salad and they didn't disappoint. I liked that they have a separate bar area and a covered outdoor seating area. Deducted 1-Star because the table and floor wasn't cleaned to my liking, and there seemed to be an odor like the floors had been cleaned with a dirty mop bucket. Overall... I have been ordering Pizza Cottage Pizza since the 70's when they opened in Carroll. Jack and Yvonne Gorham, who started Pizza Cottage would not be happy. Tonight I ordered a large thin pizza with pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, green peppers and onions. Every item added $2.87 additional cost to the pizza. When the pizza arrived, I maybe had $0.10 worth of onions and $0.10 worth of green peppers. When they started Pizza Cottage they put the same amount of pepperoni and other toppings on no matter how many toppings you add. Now they charge you $2.87 more for each topping, but give you less of each item. So sad to see. read more

I've only had pizza at this location once, mainly because there are so many other pizza places, much closer to me. In fact, I would probably be out of their delivery radius (but I don't think that they deliver). The one visit that I had to their location was a pleasant one and I did enjoy the service and pizza very much. That being said, when I worked in Hebron, I ordered from them often because they delivered to my job. I always ordered the lunch special which was a great deal, just as it is at the Pickerington location. For $7.49, they offer a 7" 1-topping pizza, salad and a drink. The salad is a great portion size and the pizza is delicious. Including a drink for that price makes it a great deal and worth purchasing, if you visit this location at lunch time. That pie is always consistently delicious and service is friendly and quick. However, as a frequent patron of Pizza Cottage, I've finally learned my lesson.. do not veer away from the pizza!! Yelpers, please take note. Do not order apps, do not get a sub, do not get a salad - or prepare yourself for disappointment! Pizza - delicious. Everything else on the menu - subpar at best. Couple examples.. one visit ordered a 'large' Italian salad. This pathetic excuse for a 'large' came in a tiny container of wilted lettuce and decomposing tomatoes, barely enough for a single serving with a cost of $7.99 Then on another visit ordered a PLT sub, which is an amazing sub sandwich for an establishment that cooks their pepperoni to that perfect crispiness.. but there's more mayo on this sub than pepperoni!? Got there the girl at the window took our money then told us they had a problem with the printer, so told us the pizza was in the oven and to pull up and she will bring it out to us. Ok. The pizza is ok, not great, not bad, but just like 100 other pizza places in Central Ohio. Didn't like it when they took Sam Adams off tap and put that PA swill on. Anyway, my biggest problem with this place, at least the Pickerington location, is the damn fluorescent lights in the dinning room that will burn holes in your eyes and make you pray for the sweet sting of Death to take you away.
