Churros and Chocolate

Fig Tree is located right on the boardwalk with a view of the ocean. They have indoor and outdoor seating and if it's nice outside I'd recommend sitting in the front under umbrellas. We came with a large group ~10 and had reservations for both indoor and outdoor areas so we could determine what space would work best for our group (aligned with restaurant ahead of time). When we got there they didn't have the indoor space ready as promised and stuck us in the back of the patio across 3x tables that had minimal shade coverage and the area was very cramped for our size party. Within 2 mins we could feel our skin burning and asked them to please get the indoor space ready as promised. They did but it took another 10 mins. Once we got seated inside we ordered apps for the table (I recommend the ceviche) and I also ordered the Shrimp Roll. In my opinion the bread to shrimp to celery ratio was off and it definitely needed more shrimp. They also messed up one of our burrito and drink orders completely and brought out the wrong thing. Lastly, the bathrooms were really poorly lit, not clean and smelled bad...I did not want to be in there any longer than I needed. The indoor room off to the side also doesn't have any cell service and the WiFi doesn't reach there which was inconvenient for our party that needed to get some work done.

We dropped in here for breakfast. This restaurant is attached to the hotel we are staying at as well but they won our patronage due to their 50% breakfast entrees. I ordered the chicken tinga and chocolate matcha and my husband got the fig tree breakfast plate. Everything tastes great! The location is prime. Right off the Venice boardwalk with views of the ocean. Very popular spot too. It filled up immediately from opening.

My friend is from Arizona and I'm from NorCal so we had to eat somewhere by the beach when in LA! I ended up reserving this place via the Resy app to be able to use my Resy credit. I loved how this restaurant was conveniently right by Venice Beach and right along the walk path. The place seemed to be booked and busy so highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time if wanting to eat here. Specifically for me, I ordered a Beach Smash Burger with Fries and a Matcha Lemonade, while my friend ordered the Pasta Del Mar and Green Juice. She also ordered the Calamari for an appetizer. I liked how well cooked and seasoned my patty was for my burger. I love a good smash burger! The fries were also very tasty and a bit crunchy and had a good amount of salt but not too salty. My friend also enjoyed her pasta and finished her Green Juice so quick from how good it was. Would def come again!

3.5 STARS: I thought this place was very charming, with a great atmosphere, especially if you sit on the outside patio, a little further from the front. The food was just ok, but really - the whole experience was not good enough to justify the pricing. We had the calamari, which came with fried slices of lemon (strange) and zucchini (only about 1/3 was calamari), and it was overfried and oily. That didn't work for me! Also, we had shrimp rolls, which were categorized as an entrée, but really it was an appetizer. It literally was a small bread roll 5 x 2 inches long, filled with small shrimp; very tasty, but again not filling in the least!! Plus, they charged extra for fries with this little thing. Personally, I was turned off about that as the server said we had a choice of fries or salad; this was another way to upcharge. Disappointed, we ordered salad and added additional shrimp for extra $$, and the salad was small, although very tasty! We enjoyed ourselves because the atmosphere was nice and the service was super friendly. Still, I left feeling that I greatly overpaid, plus they tack on extra for health care on the bill; sorry, but that's another turn-off. As a suggestion to management: Your costs are your business, and as a customer, I am fine with paying high prices that include ALL your costs. It's tacky to add that stuff on the bill to see; I expect you will provide adequate pay for your staff, and I would have happily paid even more if the food was correctly and fairly portioned.

3.5! i really enjoyed my steak burrito! and calamari batter was nice but proportion wise not enough squid and more lemon and squash. everything else was yommy. we had a reservation too but didn't get seated till way later; prolly because it was a saturday afternoon

Spent the last few days in LA visiting my brother-in-law and his girlfriend. We had a beach day in Venice and decided to hit up Fig Tree for breakfast! The food was decent but the coffee was the star. Hands down the best mocha I had while we were out there. I wasn't a big fan of the texture of the French toast but the two sauces it had were delicious. The atmosphere was incredible being right on the Venice Boardwalk. Service was good, very attentive. One of the cutest spots along the Venice Boardwalk giving Tulum vibes. I love the plethora of outdoor seating which lets you enjoy the SoCal beach breeze and sunshine. The steak and eggs were delicious. Great savory flavor. Shout out to the crispy potatoes as well. Here's a tip. Make a reservation if you can. If not you might not have much shade to wait for a table.

Wow!! The view from here are gorgeous. The service was quick and polite. The food was rock star. The fries are perfectly crunch and seasoned well. Best fries yet!! The pickles on my burger on sweet and a great addition. Their menu shows the local farms they use, nice to know it's locally owned. Cost wise menu items are responsible for locally sourced food

The food was amazing the French toast was delicious and definitely the best part of this restaurant. The pineapple with brown sugar and the toast was fluffy and moist. The drinks were also very tasty. Will definitely come back again soon. The service was quick and excellent. The ambiance was great right in front of the beach. Come and try this little gem for a great meal.

I came here looking for the vegetarian pasta I found on their website, but apparently they don't update their online menu often enough, so I ended up ordering the summer salad which felt like a joke. Yet, it is a gorgeous place and dining in the shade with an ocean view was a dream.

Fig tree was such a pleasant surprise! I honestly assumed it must be overhyped because of the location but I was so wrong. We went on a Friday afternoon and even though it was packed, we were able to find outside seating quickly. Everything we ordered was absolutely phenomenal! You must get the Coconut and Plantain pancakes and the Chicken Tinga Hash - such a perfect combo or sweet and savory. Those pancakes are actually made from multi grain flour and their texture was amazing! The coconut matcha was creamy and delicious. The outdoor seating is perfect for enjoying a hearty meal while people watching. There was a guy playing some songs across the street and the whole ambiance was nothing short of perfect. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They took our order promptly and delivered in reasonable time considering how busy they were.

If you're looking to stop for chips, guacamole, and a cocktail with a view of Venice Beach, this is a decent spot for that. The cocktails are yummy. The service was very inconsistent ranging from super friendly to completely ghosting us. Shortly after sitting down, we asked for two new water glasses because both of ours were dirty with food in them. When the waitress picked them up, she simply placed the dirty glasses back next to the clean ones, presumably to be reused for another guest. That was enough to almost make us get up and leave. After we returned home, I realized we had been overcharged for extra drinks. Unfortunately, after reading other reviews, it seems this is not an isolated event. So my advice would be if you do come here be sure you carefully check your bill.

This is a really cute and vibey restaurant in Venice. I always see a line when I pass by and finally decided to try a coffee from here. They have a walk up service for coffee and pastries which is nice. I ordered an iced vanilla latte to go and it was great! Definitely a good choice for a latte in Venice. Can't wait to come back and try the food!

Yes, as long as the dog is leashed and does well around people. Patio seating definitely helps with this!

Looking for a cute breakfast spot in Beverly Hills? Urth Caffé is calling your name!…read more Who says breakfast of champions has to mean pancakes, waffles, and eggs? Not this girl! I marched right in, ordered the biggest salad they had, asked for a coffee large enough to fuel a small village, and was one happy camper! I may have stared at it once or twice. Purely for research purposes, of course! But between my mountain of greens, my supersized coffee, and the company of my bestie, life was pretty darn sweet! Parking in Santa Monica is rarely easy, so I considered it a small victory when I actually found free street parking in the neighborhood during my most recent visit. My go-to order is usually the D'Lox Toast or the D'Lox Sandwich, but this time I opted for the D'Lox on a bagel. It was absolutely delicious as always, though seeing the $20.65 price tag for a bagel sandwich is always a bit of a shock each and every time. And, of course, I couldn't resist pairing it with a Wazuka Matcha. Another $8.50 later, I had one of my favorite matcha drinks in hand. All said and done, breakfast for one came to $32.28, which is pretty steep especially for a place where you order at the counter and find your own table. That said, the quality is consistently excellent. The ingredients are fresh, everything tastes great, and I always enjoy my meal and overall experience at Urth Caffe. If the prices were a bit more reasonable (and the crowds a little smaller), this would easily be a five star spot for me. Until then, it's still a place I'll happily return to whenever my friends want to go.
