Fried Lemon w/ Calamari and Zucchini
    Michael J.

3.5 STARS: I thought this place was very charming, with a great atmosphere, especially if you sit on the outside patio, a little further from the front. The food was just ok, but really - the whole experience was not good enough to justify the pricing. We had the calamari, which came with fried slices of lemon (strange) and zucchini (only about 1/3 was calamari), and it was overfried and oily. That didn't work for me! Also, we had shrimp rolls, which were categorized as an entrée, but really it was an appetizer. It literally was a small bread roll 5 x 2 inches long, filled with small shrimp; very tasty, but again not filling in the least!! Plus, they charged extra for fries with this little thing. Personally, I was turned off about that as the server said we had a choice of fries or salad; this was another way to upcharge. Disappointed, we ordered salad and added additional shrimp for extra $$, and the salad was small, although very tasty! We enjoyed ourselves because the atmosphere was nice and the service was super friendly. Still, I left feeling that I greatly overpaid, plus they tack on extra for health care on the bill; sorry, but that's another turn-off. As a suggestion to management: Your costs are your business, and as a customer, I am fine with paying high prices that include ALL your costs. It's tacky to add that stuff on the bill to see; I expect you will provide adequate pay for your staff, and I would have happily paid even more if the food was correctly and fairly portioned.

Came from out of state to visit my daugther and she highly recommended Fig Tree for breakfast burritos and their pancakes. Great location to sit by the beach path and people watch while sipping on my coffee I got the chorizo BB, a side of crispy potatoes and a short stack of pancakes. WOW! This exceeded my already high expectations completely! Will be returning again next time i visist my daughter

I came here looking for the vegetarian pasta I found on their website, but apparently they don't update their online menu often enough, so I ended up ordering the summer salad which felt like a joke. Yet, it is a gorgeous place and dining in the shade with an ocean view was a dream.

The food was amazing the French toast was delicious and definitely the best part of this restaurant. The pineapple with brown sugar and the toast was fluffy and moist. The drinks were also very tasty. Will definitely come back again soon. The service was quick and excellent. The ambiance was great right in front of the beach. Come and try this little gem for a great meal.

    Cheers!

One of the cutest spots along the Venice Boardwalk giving Tulum vibes. I love the plethora of outdoor seating which lets you enjoy the SoCal beach breeze and sunshine. The steak and eggs were delicious. Great savory flavor. Shout out to the crispy potatoes as well. Here's a tip. Make a reservation if you can. If not you might not have much shade to wait for a table.

This is a really cute and vibey restaurant in Venice. I always see a line when I pass by and finally decided to try a coffee from here. They have a walk up service for coffee and pastries which is nice. I ordered an iced vanilla latte to go and it was great! Definitely a good choice for a latte in Venice. Can't wait to come back and try the food!

Wow!! The view from here are gorgeous. The service was quick and polite. The food was rock star. The fries are perfectly crunch and seasoned well. Best fries yet!! The pickles on my burger on sweet and a great addition. Their menu shows the local farms they use, nice to know it's locally owned. Cost wise menu items are responsible for locally sourced food

I think Fig Tree is a really popular restaurant alongside Venice Beach, and it was the perfect first and last restaurant we went to in LA during Coachella weekend! We got a mix of things, but I think the breakfast plate was the best thing I tried. Service was quite good, and we got our food and drinks really quickly. I would pass on the kale salad (but this is also very personal because I just don't love kale), but the steak and eggs and breakfast plate were both so solid.

Fig tree was such a pleasant surprise! I honestly assumed it must be overhyped because of the location but I was so wrong. We went on a Friday afternoon and even though it was packed, we were able to find outside seating quickly. Everything we ordered was absolutely phenomenal! You must get the Coconut and Plantain pancakes and the Chicken Tinga Hash - such a perfect combo or sweet and savory. Those pancakes are actually made from multi grain flour and their texture was amazing! The coconut matcha was creamy and delicious. The outdoor seating is perfect for enjoying a hearty meal while people watching. There was a guy playing some songs across the street and the whole ambiance was nothing short of perfect. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They took our order promptly and delivered in reasonable time considering how busy they were.

Fig tree was such a treat. Parking was easy, a stroll along the beach set the mood... and then came a warm welcome from the most vibey hipster LA waitress I could imagine. Effortlessly cool, casual like an old friend. Then a different waiter with equally cool energy took our order. Food was amazing. Coffee was perfect. And a street performer sat and sang Nat King Cole songs backed by the ocean. Perfect spot for a perfect morning.

If you're looking to stop for chips, guacamole, and a cocktail with a view of Venice Beach, this is a decent spot for that. The cocktails are yummy. The service was very inconsistent ranging from super friendly to completely ghosting us. Shortly after sitting down, we asked for two new water glasses because both of ours were dirty with food in them. When the waitress picked them up, she simply placed the dirty glasses back next to the clean ones, presumably to be reused for another guest. That was enough to almost make us get up and leave. After we returned home, I realized we had been overcharged for extra drinks. Unfortunately, after reading other reviews, it seems this is not an isolated event. So my advice would be if you do come here be sure you carefully check your bill.

Down in the area for work near Venice Beach and this spot popped up at just the right moment. When we arrived it was almost empty, which honestly made the experience even better. It did pick up toward the end, but service never skipped a beat. Attentive, warm, and genuinely top-notch without hovering. The food leans toward classic comfort happy hour rather than full "destination dining," which is why this lands just shy of five stars for me. Everything was good, thoughtfully prepared, and enjoyable, but there wasn't quite that singular wow bite that locks in a perfect score. I very much enjoyed the small menu with the farmer call out on the back! That said, the natural wine list absolutely deserves its own applause. I ordered an orange wine that was a textbook example of the style: bright, balanced, and refreshingly free of funk. It paired beautifully with the Black Magic Baja oysters. They were on the smaller side, but beautifully briny, clean, and honestly perfect little salty slurps. The Kalamata olives surprised me in the best way. I preferred them far more than the green olives, which almost never happens for me, so credit where it's due. The salmon tostada was lovely and satisfying, and the ceviche was light, fresh, and pleasant, nothing overworked, nothing heavy. Overall, this is a place I really enjoyed and would absolutely return to, especially for breakfast. Calm atmosphere, excellent service, solid food, and a wine program that clearly knows what it's doing. Comfortable, unfussy, and quietly confident. A great stop if you're in the area and want to linger a little longer than planned.

Nothing in the signature cocktail looks interesting to me, so I had the bartender make a classic cocktail instead. He's very attentive and friendly, didn't take forever to get a drink either, no attitude. Drinks aren't watered down either. Nice! Music is not loud and they have couches and booth if bar table if not your thing, you don't have to yell or pretend you hear everything to hold a conversation here (lol). ** Keep in mind 20% gratuity is automatically included in bill, it's my first time here. Harvelle's is the latter. Tucked close to the beach in Santa Monica, this tiny little place might not look like much at first. The setup is a tightly woven arrangement of vintage chairs and tables, with a long row of couches hugging the wall. But once you're inside, you realize they have their reasons for their layout. If you're lucky enough to grab a front-row seat or one of the coveted bar stools, you'll start to notice the details: metal pipes, and rods that spark the imagination. You're in for a treat! What I really appreciate about Harvelle's is that they don't charge you an arm and a leg for tickets. The artists are humble, talented, and consistently engaging. I've been to burlesque shows where the performers feel like they're just there, going through the motions. But not at Harvelle's. Every time I've gone, the women bring something artful, classy, and unapologetically bold to the stage. It's burlesque, yes, but not cheap in style or spirit. Anytime a friend's visiting from out of town, this is the spot I take them to. It's a must-see in Santa Monica. And honestly, what other place is giving you burlesque seven nights a week?
