The only redeeming part of this hotel is the restaurant. The food was excellent and absolutely worth it, and the service was overall great. For breakfast and brunch, do yourself a favor and sit inside. The outdoor seating gets hit hard by the sun, and the umbrellas can't block the walkways, unless you enjoy being slow-roasted while waiting for your food. Now, the food? Outstanding. The Jidori chicken sandwich was phenomenal, and the calamari with saffron marinara was genuinely to die for. Bold flavors, perfectly cooked, and clearly made with care. I'd come back for the restaurant alone without hesitation...just not for the hotel.

We went for Dine LA and this has to be one of my favorite places I've gone!! The portion sizes were really good and the food was DELICIOUS! The short rib tacos were perfect with the caramelized onions and the mushroom rigatoni had the perfect kind of sauce! Service was so friendly and everyone was very helpful. Ambiance is so warm and beautiful like a beach vacation resort!

Marelle at the Sandbourne Santa Monica is serving views, vibes, and seriously good food. Think gorgeous coastal ambience, a menu rooted in fresh, local ingredients, and cocktails so beautifully presented you'll be tempted to sneak the glassware home. Perfect for special celebrations, they even have the cutest private dining spaces. A must-try Santa Monica spot -- and pro tip: go for brunch or lunch to soak in those stunning views. What we loved: Brioche French Toast -- hands down the best I've had in ages, non-negotiable order Crispy Jidori Chicken Sandwich -- bold, unforgettable flavors Snake River Farms Cheeseburger -- cooked to perfection, flavor on flavor Burrata salad with pistachios & the dreamiest dressing -- honestly a meal on its own-

I came here for the first time around mid-September, and I was blown away! I didn't realize it was in the Sandbourne Hotel, but the ambiance/setting of the restaurant is truly a dream. I had a reservation for lunch and was seated with a view of the pool and beach. I ordered the cutest cocktail in a seashell (Star of the Sea), which was so fabulous. In addition, I ordered the Whipped Feta, Hiramasa Crudo, and the Ahi Tuna Tartare which were all very delicious. The service was also amazing! Elias, Faustino, and Ricardo regularly checked on me. They were all so wonderful! Marelle is truly a gem in Santa Monica!

Omg I absolutely love this place for brunch for so many reasons. The ambience is nice. They have a dj playing and it really sets the vibe. There is indoor and outdoor seating. To start we ordered the shell drinks which were cute but good as well. I ordered the french toast the cream was a little much but the sides were good. Everyone enjoyed their food. I wish I remembered the waiters name she was so good even gave us comp mimosas. I definitely recommend this place.

Super cute hidden little gem with a cool view, nice ambiance and pretty interior. I had great pleasure dining there. Food was delicious and I would definitely come back. Respectful staff too. Loved tuna tar tar and crab cake was very tender. Great for brunch or early dinner

Marelle is exactly what you'd expect from Santa Monica -- classy, close to the beach, and serving delicious food with great service. I've only been for brunch so far, but it's already a new favorite. I'm very picky about eggs Benedict, but theirs were cooked perfectly and the hollandaise sauce was spot-on. I also loved the seashell cup and all the attention to detail in the interior design. Can't wait to come back!

In a nutshell: Beautiful restaurant, lowkey location, amazing food, and great service. Recommendation: Calamari, Ora king salmon, strip steak, loaded baked potato. Phenomenal. One of my favorite restaurants.

Came with a friend for the first day of DineLA and specifically said we were here for the DineLA lunch to the maître d'. He gave us the Chef's prix fixe menu also $35. We assumed it was the DineLA menu and ordered the shrimp toast (ok), Caesar salad (delicious and refreshing!), salmon tostada which was beautifully plated, but looked more like a taco - still good, but we had expected a tostada, and mini pastry trio (they were ok). We overheard the couple behind us ask for the DineLA menu, but was told by their server it didn't start until tmrw. They decided to order from the menu rather than the Chef's prix fixe. That's when we compared menus and saw the difference (see attached). The DineLA menu had short rib tacos but no salad, crab cakes, a steak sandwich and apple turnover for dessert. It was a better menu also $35. The server explained that the restaurant thought the DineLA started tmrw and wasn't ready with the items today. The DineLA menu clearly said daily and dates were promoted. Well, too late now. We sat on the patio to catch a glimpse of the ocean on this beautiful day. Overall, service was slow; food was slow in coming out; we had to get attention to get the check and went up to pay for our check. We parked on the street.

We recently visited Marelle on Sunday during the holiday weekend. I had a special request as it was my girlfriend's birthday brunch and they delivered. We had a really good table plus the lighting outside was impeccable that day. The food was amazing and drinks were amazing. Very spacious, service was good, and they validate parking, but they only take off $10 so you still pay $10 for parking at valet. Other than that, would return again!

The restaurant is beautiful. Located right next to a pool. Service is good, not too many people for a Saturday brunch. Food was good but overpriced in my opinion. My favorite part was my drink in a seashell cup.

I headed to Marelle on a weekday to try their Dina LA lunch menu. It is a beautiful restaurant with good food. However, their service surprised me. Dessert was served while I was still working on the entree, the check came before I touched the dessert, and when I turned to the dessert, it was not what I had ordered - instead of Apple Turnover, I was looking at some sort of brownie. No notice was given beforehand, no options were offered beforehand. It was not a pleasant feeling to be just given a random dish. Despite the delicious food, this dining experience left a sour taste.

Visited Marelle for brunch yesterday and had a pleasant time. The restaurant had a relaxing atmosphere and the views by the sea were great! We ordered the star of the sea cocktail and it was really tasty and sweet! We also ordered the crispy chicken and pancakes and french toast. Both were delicious and came out quickly. Service was excellent and our server was very kind and attentive! Overall, I would recommend coming to Marelle for brunch if you want a relaxing start to your day!

The waiter was so accomodating --we were a large group of 8 and he laid out the options of either ordering family style or personal mains (but sharing the rest) -- we opted fully for family style which was nice because we got to try most of the dishes! All of the veggie dishes were delish. The only shocking moment was when they brought out the snapper -- the full fish, head, eyes, teeth and all -- it was very delicious however and it came with this delicious chimichurri. The cheesy mashed potatoes were a standout for me -- very very cheezy!! They do not have cocktails but have an extensive wine menu -- we got three bottles, two rose's (the Santa Barbara wine was soo good) and one skin contact (orange) -- they were all very good!! Dessert was limited to three items so we got them all, sticky toffee pudding, strawberry galette and a dark chocolate mousse with ice cream. The sticky toffee pudding, which would have been my last choice was actually the best out of all of them!! Soooo good I could have eaten a whole vat of it!! LOL. Overall was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food and the service -- I will definitely be coming back.

We started with the oxtail dumplings since they seem to be one of the most hyped dishes here, but honestly... they were just mid for me. Not bad, just didn't really live up to the hype. The whole fried snapper was easily the star of the night though. Perfectly crispy outside, flaky inside, and the dipping sauce absolutely makes the dish. The shellfish pot was also excellent -- rich, flavorful, and great for sharing, but I do wish they gave a little more grilled toast with it because you'll want every last drop of the broth. The ribeye was solid and cooked perfectly, but nothing particularly memorable compared to other steak spots around LA. For dessert, definitely get the strawberry galette. The crust was buttery and delicious, and it was the perfect ending to the meal.

Everything felt carefully prepared and thoughtfully presented, and you can tell there is real attention to detail in the kitchen. The dishes felt balanced, flavorful, and polished without trying too hard. You can also tell they care about how everything comes out, from the plating to the way different flavors work together. The service also made a big difference. Everyone was professional, friendly, and welcoming, and the pacing of the meal felt right. Nothing felt rushed, but we also were never left waiting too long. I was looking for a new restaurant for a work dinner -- I would not suggest this spot. I also thought you would be able to see the ocean since it is right on Ocean Ave -- but once seated you can't really see the water. And unfortunately the view of hotel guests swimming wasn't very appetizing. We had a reservation for 14 and somehow they lost it (even though someone called to confirm the day before) -- so they had to quickly set up a table for 14 which they clearly did not do that often -- it was all squished between plants and heaters. After waiting 10+ minutes we were finally seated. Right away we noticed that the menus were different, not drastically but enough to cause some confusion. The waitress seemed very flustered and kept mentioning that our group was not expected. We started off with drinks -- I got a strawberry lemon tart -- it was good but the strawberries were a bit too chunky for a cocktail (IMO). Some people received their drinks in a plastic glass -- I guess because it was near the pool? We ordered a number of appetizers and then our mains. The waitress wasn't sure about us even ordering a main -- it made me wonder if they actually had enough of the dishes in the kitchen. Apps were good but nothing amazing. I got the sea bass for the main and it had no spice or flavor to it -- it even had these little dollups of romesco sauce that was also flavorless. Several people at the table ordered the filet mignon -- the only beef course on the menu and one of the plates came out at least 10 minutes after everyone else received their meals. The waitress did give him a free drink for his patience. Also my other coworker told me the lobster roll was terrible and made her stomach hurt the next day. Overall I was not impressed and will not likely return for a dinner here.
