First time there and was pleasantly surprised at all the menu choices! I ordered a hamburger with a fried egg, and it was delicious; the bun was slightly sweet, fresh, and soft. The fries were terrific! I was a little disappointed with the size of the burger, since the server told me it was BIG compared to the "smash burger," but it really wasn't. That said, the service was very friendly, but don't come here in a rush because it takes a while. Also, they have a nice patio in the rear, which I was unaware of until coming inside. We will definitely come back.

Flapjax? More like slap-jax, because this food absolutely slaps! It's hands-down my new favorite brunch place in town and will be my top recommendation to anyone visiting from out of town. The menu has about 100 options to choose from (pancakes, waffles, crepes, mimosas, eggs and potatoes, you name it), which is a little overwhelming, but it seems like you can't go wrong. My wife and I split the strawberry shortcake waffle and the cinnamon bun pancakes and savored every single bite. The table next to us got a breakfast burrito that also looked heavenly. Even though the restaurant was full of patrons, our server was prompt and welcoming. Flapjax is one of the few places I would bestow a bonus 6th Yelp star if I could. I will 100% be back for brunch again soon!

    Gluten Free Pancakes

first off the service was 10/10! was greeted and seated right away and once our order was taken, the food came out so quickly. as someone who is gluten free but is always on the hunt for gluten free that doesn't taste like cardboard or crumbly, please come try the pancakes! ignore the melted chocolate chips on the plate LOL. but they were so soft and fluffy and like an authentic pancake house. I teared up at the table!! will definitely be coming back

I ordered the patatas bravas. I failed to inform the staff that I don't eat meat. My mistake, offered to pay for the meal, and to get a new one. They were nice enough to take it in the back and bring back a new one. Or so I thought. It seems like they made a new egg and took out the pieces of bacon. I found a few smaller pieces they missed, and ruined my appetite. I was sick all night because of that. Thank you for that! Also, they only do one egg now instead of two, and the plate seems a lot smaller than before. Will not go back. I can't trust a restaurant that disregards customer food safety.

Overall: very spacious, and yummy food, decent patio Food: 4/5 Flapjax Plate: +eggs were tender and moist -potatoes were a little overdone Banana pancake: +Crème brûlée was a nice touch +peanut butter cuts through some of the sugar +banana chunks were in the pancakes and were super soft Service: 4/5 Food came quickly and they checked on us a few times. I had to wait a bit for my ketchup though. Ambiance: 5/5 Nice patio seating. Not super crowded and claustrophobic like many brunch places.

Wow, I was waiting for my husband's surgery to end. I started walking and found Flapjax. All I can say is this restaurant is the best. The atmosphere, staff and food were awesome. If your tummy is hungry this is the place to go.

Quick update on my review since Bru's Wiffle has moved in and merged with Flapjax. We were a little nervous of how it would all end up, but we love this setup! Everything is on one menu now. Since my daughter's favorite menu item was from Flapjax (the chicken crepe) and mine was from Bru's (The Salad), now everyone can be happy! I was also nervous that the quality of the salad might suffer since the side salads at Flapjax weren't always the best (sometimes a little wilty with some of the leaves tending toward slime), but I'm happy to report that The Salad is as delightful as ever and the quality of the greens is still outstanding. Hope they stay in business - such a great place with very friendly service. Love their outdoor seating area.

This food spot is approximately two years old! They have a great mixture of savory breakfast & sweet breakfast. The service was fast & attentive. The ambiance was quiet & not crowded. We came on a Sunday morning around 11am. We were sat down quickly with no reservations Now for the food: Breakfast Burrito 10/10: enjoyed the cheese/ egg wrap instead of a bunch of tortilla! The chorizo was amazing! Chicken Karaage 10/10: absolutely love how they breaded the chicken! It's light & not as thick. Loved the sauces too! The spicy syrup mixed with the spicy ranch was sooo good! Banana Pancakes 10/10: so good! Loved the peanut butter & banana. The smoked sugar on top was amazing Lychee & Coffee drinks: the lychee was a bit too sweet for me but the boba was good! The coffee was not too strong & a bit milky! Great flavor Overall this restaurant was great for breakfast! They also have lunch items too which is great for a nice brunch/lunch type of vibe

This diner is DIVINE!!!!! I absolutely fell in love with the chicken crepe. Such a savory breakfast/brunch dish. As were all the dishes we ordered. I really loved how the cinnamon bun pancakes came pre cut, it made it really convenient to eat!! The serves and hostess were amazing. They were very attentive and I made sure they knew we thought they did a great job. It's a cozy place with the cutest decor. We will most definitely because regulars and look forward to trying many more dishes!!

Even though I live close by, I somehow missed this Santa Monica diner, and I'm so happy I tried it for my first time this past weekend. It's not the traditional retro diner, think more so a breakfast restaurant with a huge menu filled with all sorts of classic and new dishes. I find the most diners focus on just classic dishes so this is a bit of a hybrid. They have indoor and outdoor seating, the outdoor seating is in front and a covered patio out back. They don't have a dedicated parking lot, but parking is really easy to find in this part of town. We were able to be seated right when we arrived for a 10:30 AM Sunday brunch and our server was extremely polite. As mentioned, they have a huge menu that is filled with all sorts of options so it took all of us quite some time to decide what to get. For my first time I started off with a Cinnamon Roll and thought it was absolutely fantastic. It's large and fluffy and really hit the spot for a great starter. For my entrée, I chose the Flapjax Breakfast Plate and upgraded my pancake to the Maple Glaze. That pancake was extremely delicious with caramelized banana, maple, and bacon on top. It was truly delicious and a great treat. Overall, a fantastic breakfast place that I will certainly be back to soon. They truly have a ton of options so it's a sort of place you could go to frequently and get something new every time.

Wow! We have lived down the street for 2 year and have never been in here. We have so many favorites, it's hard to try somewhere new. I am so glad we came. The food was fantastic. I am going to go out on a limb and say this was the best avocado toast I have ever had. Ever! The bread was rustic and fresh. There was a tang from the sauce they put on top (which I believe had jalapeños in it) and the cilantro micro greens were perfect. My only complaint- they need to give you a steak knife. That bread is so full of goodness, a butter knife just won't do. My hubby got the overnight oats and loved them. They have a lot going on in those oats. Full of good texture. The coffee is strong. The servers are all lovely. It's nice and serene inside. Perfect for a cloudy Saturday morning. This place should have a constant line out the door. One can only imagine that the reason they don't is there any few places to park.

So so good!! Came in on a Sunday around 11am and did not have to wait. Attentive service and delicious food. The breakfast bowl was good (chicken was alright, but the potatoes made up for it). Glad I tried, but I'll have to come back to try some pancakes. Just fyi the meters on wilshire are 30 minute parking only. We parked in the neighborhood above wilshire and didn't have trouble finding parking on a Saturday morning.

Flapjax wasn't too busy when we went on a weekday, and we even found parking easily despite it being on a busy street. They had some good specials on their sandwich board, but surprise! The prices didn't match what we were actually charged. Classic, right? The service was okay. Our waitress disappeared after taking our order, but other staff members were pretty helpful. The cinnamon roll pancakes were delicious, though we had to ask for syrup (who serves pancakes without syrup?). The patatas bravas were a bit of a twist--they were basically French fries. The dish had everything, but it would've been better as a skillet to keep the fries warm. The loco huevos rancheros had a ton of flavor, but the chorizo grease/sauce turned the "crispy" tortilla into mush pretty quickly. The star of the meal was definitely the mushroom toast! Fresh bread, a generous pile of mushrooms, and crispy onions for the perfect texture.

The menu didn't have any stand-out dishes that you couldn't find at any other brunch place and there were barely any savory vegetarian options. I went with the Napa scramble. The scramble itself was very heavy on the spinach and light on the sun-dried tomatoes, which made for a not great texture and duller flavor. I did appreciate the bites with the creamy, tangy goat cheese. The toast was just ok and the strawberry jam it came with was very runny. I did enjoy the fresh greens on the side that were lightly dressed.

So boom My homegirl and I wanted to try somewhere cute for brunch, and she suggested this spot located inside a hotel. The aesthetic? Warm, neutral, and effortlessly pretty. We started with the signature mimosa cart and the crab cake. Now let it be known -- I am a crab cake connoisseur and this one understood the assignment. Nicely crusted, flavorful, and paired with jalapeño aioli that I thoroughly appreciated. It also came with a red pepper, white corn, and mango mixture... I personally could've done without that, but no harm no foul. The mimosa cart was stocked with fresh fruit and juices, so naturally we each had a glass. We also ordered the Star of the Sea. It's vodka-based, which had me a little weary, but baby... the glass it came in was too cute. Tiny pour, big personality, and surprisingly tasty. Now let's get into the entrées ‍ I initially ordered the Crispy Jidori Chicken Sandwich, but unfortunately it was bland and gave me absolutely nothing. I only ate the fries and considered calling it a day. Thankfully, our server was super understanding and accommodating, so I decided to pivot and order the Seared Ahi Tuna instead... and let me tell you, it smacked my wig clean back. My homegirl ordered the Crispy Chicken & Pancakes, served with blueberry butter, and she was pleased. We took plenty of pictures, laughed, and really enjoyed the overall vibe. It's one of those places that's just pretty. Would I come back? Absolutely. Next time, I'd love to try the dinner menu. So per usual -- if you're in the area, go ahead and stop by and enjoy yourself. P.S. It's metered parking, and I think I saw valet... but don't quote me

The Diavola pizza I ended up choosing was so good--perfect balance of spice, richness, and that classic wood-fired taste. The bolognese was super authentic and just oozing with flavor, and the Caesar salad totally surprised me--in the best way. It had these tiny crunchy crumbs on top that gave it such a unique texture. BUT I have to mention something that really threw me off. I asked one of the pizza makers which pizza she recommended because I was stuck between a few options, and she paused, looked at me, and said, "I don't really like the pizzas here." I genuinely didn't know how to respond. I even had to double-check with my friend to make sure I heard her correctly. It was such a strange moment... especially because the pizza ended up being amazing. On the flip side, our server was fantastic.
