One of the most consistently good breakfast spots in Santa Monica. Don't think of it as a traditional deli, it is more so a breakfast and lunch spot that has a very large and diverse menu. One thing I love about this place is they have a lot of indoor and outdoor seating so whatever you're in the mood for you'll be able to get. Parking is also extremely easy, there is a giant pay lot directly behind the restaurant or you can look for metered street parking. Our waiter was extremely polite and everything that we ordered came out shortly after ordering it. Inside is pretty large, larger than it looks from the street, so they can host many different sized groups. For this visit, I ordered one of their most famous dishes, which is the Pancakes with Bacon inside it. As you would guess they were very good and filling, and I would order them again. How have we not seen this deli yet. It's been on Main Street for years. Our friend told us about Shoop's and had breakfast with us. It's a European style deli which specialized in pancakes. I had a scramble special and the others had pancake specials. Everything was delicious. Service was great. The restaurant had a nice cozy feel with great service. After a visit to Dog Ppl, my friend and I and our two pooches grabbed some lunch at Shoop's. There are many German options, as well as other European treats to choose from. The chocolates, cheeses, and other goods make this a friendly, well-stocked fun place to eat. We shared two sandwiches. The Tuna Melt was delicious and served with yummy coleslaw. Came here on a Sunday and there wasn't direction on where to sit or meet host. We were seated after being asked if we would like to order. The roast beef sandwich was really tasty, coleslaw was delicious and Russian dressing complimented the sand which well. Potato salad was delicious, it had bacon and you really tasted the vinegar but overall it was a nice balance. Unfortunately, the last few visits we have noticed the quality has gone down. My go to hot sandwich is the Ranger, it seems like they double up on the coleslaw and put very little roast beef. My other go to are the pancakes, I ordered three and one of them was burnt on the bottom making it inedible. I feel like this would have never been served in the past, but things change. The menu is HUGE not kidding with so many delicious to chooe from,there are about 6 table setting inside and about 15 to 20 outside with umbrella's. Our waitress was very friendly plus helpful taking our order's which was the over size pineapple pancakes, the were cooked inside the fluffy and sweet pancakes that needed no syrup, "mouthgasm" scrambled eggs and trukey sausages, plus the mash yams they had a yummy taste to them, scrambled eggs, potatoes was crispy and very good too, a side order of avacado.
