We went in early morning on Saturday August 2015, before there was a wait (Wife and I). First hostess seats us near the bus station, when there are plenty of other tables available. When we ask to be closer to the entrance she has no problem giving us a new table. Then we wait for service and wait for service and wait for service. Approximately 10 minutes before we decide to leave. We notice one individual who came in before us already getting his drink, before anyone notices us. The place was not busy at 8:00 in the morning. Less than half the tables are full, If you cannot say hello or we will be right with you, then your staff and hostess need to be trained better. This place is an amazing breakfast spot. My girlfriend and I keep coming back. The staff gets 5 stars. They are friendly, helpful, enthusiastic, and on it! Whoever does the hiring does a great job of screening for "people who like people." The food is awesome! I found their breakfast sushi to be overrated (but still good). The best things on their menu is the breakfast hash, eggwich, and french toast. The Burrito is also good, but I wish they had more bacon in it. Came here today with my girlfriend, family and friends (and our little dog). They were very busy for the holiday but they were still very accommodating and friendly to our party. The staff made sure we had drinks and a place to sit while we waited. We all enjoyed our drinks very much! Our server Liz made sure we had everything we needed while we waited to order the food, and the manager Victoria was kind enough to give us some complimentary drinks when there was a mix up on one of our coffee orders. *Service was great and everyone was friendly. *The atmosphere and location were also nice. *The Strawberries and cream French toast was good - although there wasn't anything unique about it. *The rosemary potatoes were more like frozen potatoes warmed up with not a hint of rosemary. *The coffee was not the best and not to mention cold (I took a drink of all of the coffees on our table - Mexican hot chocolate, Cappuccino and Vanilla latte). *Definitely overpriced. The ambiance is relaxing. The staff are super awesome! The French Toast and Banana Pancakes are my fav breakfast dishes. Overall really great food and service and a good experience. They now are serving alcoholic beverages! Yeah, the food is pretty awesome here. We had the French toast with strawberries, the salmon and asparagus omelette, and the Cobb salad (bacon and feta cheese). The best was the French toast. It's as good as everyone has said: hot, crispy, buttery, with just the right sweetness. Best of all, my kids loved eating the food here. Yum! Fun! Wonderful Saturday Breakfast! My two friends took me here, telling me for weeks now how great this place was, and it was even better than they said. It is a lovely setting, outside under trees - a house turned into a restaurant with lovely patio setting. It was almost full but no waiting and I felt so comfortable. The aromas wafted and the plates going by being delivered to other tables had me almost drooling after what my friends had described. The menu was so fun to read and not expensive at all, and we ordered bananas foster and stuffed french toast (made with brioche, that yummy french egg bread that they soak in the batter overnight to make it unbelieveably good)... and then a delicious sausage egg casserole special that was scrumptious, fantastic... omg now I am salivating in my memories. I loved the family of smiling wait staff, so helpful and cheerful and I was just so glad to be there on this not-to-be-forgotten-ever sunny Saturday. My coffee was delicious and when our food arrived we all tasted all of our plates and made all those noises of moans and omg ummmmmmm. No other restaurant in 11 years in San Diego has carried this mix of multi-deliciousness in food and feelings. It was so unique and special. I am so happy it exists. read more

Already wrote a review for fig tree, but I gotta add another plug! I came to Fig Tree on a Friday brunch hour (around 11am) with a $8 for $20 groupon. Typically on weekends, this place is packed-- both front & back yards. But this time (I'm assuming most weekdays), there were plenty of empty tables to choose from. The tables in front are shaded and the ones out back give for much sunlight. Coming to fig tree for the third time, I knew what dishes to order and not order. Benedicts typically come in smaller portions, and the panini+fries option was too oily & carb-y for my taste. I was in the mood for bigger portions (for your moneys worth!) yet lighter options (gotta have some veggies to make it healthy!). I ordered the shrimp frittata ($11-12 which was HUGE, and came with potatoes & fruit). I had ordered the same thing last year and didn't remember it to be so big! It was so delicious! I also ordered the salmon sandwich (which was $12.95, and a daily special) with a side of greek salad. I'm writing another review mainly to rave about the salmon sandwich-- it was incredibly delicious!! There were BIG, generous chunks of salmon, along with mixed greens and various vegetables, with a light yet flavorful sauce. The sandwich ingredients were chosen with such precision; I was so impressed! I kept talkin about how good it was while eating it. And the greek salad came in a big portion as well (didn't expect it to be, since typically side salads are only the size of a handful). Waiters are so friendly, as usual. I love this place. I used to live down the street and would come regularly on week days to avoid the long weekend waits. The stuffed french toast, the benedicts, the breakfast "sushi"- all amazing. Really cute brunch spot. All shaded patio or outdoor seating so its dog friendly (yay). Street parking is good for PB since its northern. Waits can get a bit long on the weekends during late morning but its definitely worth the wait. One of the best breakfast spots in the neighborhood. read more

My husband, doggies (love that they're dog friendly on the patio!) & I visited Fig Tree a few weeks ago, and I forgot to review it! Anyway, what a quaint little restaurant! It's tucked away in what seems to be a residential neighborhood, which adds to its charm. The menu offers lots of healthy options, and the food we ordered was really great! I had the blue corn pancakes, which come with orange slices & maple syrup. They were good on their own, but really good with a bit of tomato & avocado on them as well (ordered as side items). My husband had some kind of egg white scramble with spinach. I think it was the vegetarian scramble. Anyway, he LOVED it, and said he'd love to come back and have it again. Like I said, our dogs were welcome, and I believe they will give you a bowl of water for them as well (we didn't ask, but saw someone else with one). I definitely recommend checking out Fig Tree!
