Stopped by to grab a to go dinner. It was around 6:30pm and not crowded at all (I think they get most of their business during lunch). Decided to go with the half chicken with one side. You can choose all white or all dark or a mixture - so I went with all dark. The chicken was good -- juicy and flavorful. I had to knock down a star because the broccoli was WAY TOO SALTY to the point where it was basically inedible. If I hadn't gotten it to go, I probably would have said something, alas.... First, it has a brilliant name. Next, the chicken is incredible. It light years ahead of Boston Market as a fast food style rotisserie chicken spot. It is fall of the bone good and you can eat it with just a fork. It is arguably the best rotisserie chicken in New York. The sides are also very good (e.g. corn, potatoes, kale, etc.). I promised myself I wouldn't fall for the cliche play on words but I just can't help it... I field so good about Fields Good Chicken! I've tried a coupe of different bowls and salads since they opened and can confidently say that the Karma salad and the Good bowl are the best things on the menu. The unsweetened iced tea is great as well. Maybe I'm getting old but I find the main menu (above the cashier) a bit tough to read, its way too high up. The ordering process is a bit weird too, they hand you a vibrator that starts going off when your food is ready but they call your name anyway... Seems redundant. A lot of similar concept around NYC and each has a theme and pride themselves on being healthy options and this falls into that category. I usually go to the one on 23rd street, but have stopped by here once. Compared to the 23rd street store, this one was way more crowded and chaotic. There were so many people crowded around the register that you couldn't tell who was lining up for what. A majority of the people were trying to squeeze in to scan the mealpal code in no particular order and the staff couldn't fulfill those orders quick enough as the numbers just piled on. People just grabbed the bowls as soon as they came out. In regards to the food, the BBQ Chicken Bowl was still pretty good, similar to the other stores. Loved my Half Chicken with the Habanero Mango sauce. I also got the rice and beans as my chosen single side. Delicious. The chicken was plump, juicy, and flavorful. It was a more than adequately sized chicken. The sauce and rice/beans were excellent. There was a long line when I arrived however the staff and ordering system are super efficient and the line moved quickly. I'm currently recommending Fields Good Chicken to my coworkers to try. The food is generally good but the delivery service is sub par. The menu on Seamless/GrubHub seems to change once a week so I can't actually re-order my previously ordered item. I can deal with that. What I find annoying though is they will almost never get your sauce choice correct. No matter how many times I write in the the notes section, the sauce is either completely wrong or the amount given is wrong. They've also taken away the ability to choose more than one sauce. Fields good chicken is by the far the best, and healthiest, food I've had since I've begun working in the city. My go to bowl is the Bueno bowl and it is amazing! You honestly can't go wrong with this bowl, or for any of their food choices. Don't even get me started on their Mexican corn off the cob....I could literally eat it all day and be super satisfied.
