Came here for lunch on a Saturday and was not busy. I like the bone broth concept. Got a New Roots broth, tofu and noodles, and banana almond smoothie. Everything tasted good and service was pretty fast. 3 stools inside and a few tables outside. More of a takeout ambiance.

Closed after accepting my ClassPass order

Terrible service experience ordering through ClassPass. They showed that they were available to book, which I did since I was hungry after my workout. I show up after booking my Mexican Bowl and there were signs posted on the door saying they were closed. ClassPass first refused to refund my credits because food and drinks orders are not refundable. They eventually did. Dishonest and misleading

Mediterranean Chicken bowl - love this!!

A coworker referred this spot to me because he said the ingredients were healthy. I decided to check it out and I'm glad I did. I normally order on the app and pick it up, but you can also go in and order inside. It's the same concept as Cava, Sweetgreen, Dig, Chipotle - the conveyer belt method of what to put in your bowl. I've never created my own bowl because I'm assuming the bowls they've created have been well tested -- and they are. I've tried the Honey Dijon Salmon bowl and the Mediterranean Chicken bowl. The chicken in the Mediterranean bowl is outstanding. The chicken is juicy (not some of that dry stuff you find in other places) and well seasoned. The Honey Dijon Salmon is great as well. The salmon is well seasoned, juicy, and flavorful. The roasted broccoli is quite different, but very unique in taste and texture. The team is incredibly efficient and fast. The store is quite clean, easy to navigate. Not much seating though. It's definitely more of a pick up and go eat in your office type of spot. They also don't take cash, which is fine since you can use their app, card, or phone to pay. Overall, I will definitely come back and try more. It's a bowl of freshness and flavor.

There was a short wait, but from what I could see, a variety of tables here and seating. Not the biggest place, dark, intimate, wood accents and small spotlights over tables. We ordered buns and spicy edamame to start. It seemed like we had just ordered when the food came out. Love that. Buns were incredibly good - a close second to a joint in Chicago we ate at last weekend. Succulent meat, plenty of sauce, and just the usual pillowy bun. The edamame didn't seem spicy at first - then my face melted. Still good but a deep burning spiciness to them as advertised. For my entree I got the beef miso ramen, adding corn and an egg. The corn wasn't just a pile of kernels - but a side slice of a cob. Cool presentation. Beef was good and the broth soothed my soul. Top 10 ramen places I've been - well done.

We tried the spicy shrimp (coconut based broth), spicy tonkatsu, and salmon miso ramen. The tonkatsu and salmon were both cooked well - tender and moist. Ramen noodles were thin and well cooked - more al dente. We also tried the karaage which had a thick crispy batter and a sweet glaze, with an optional spicy side sauce for dipping. They had a variety of sake and beer options. The inside is small but turnaround is fairly quick. Lots of two seaters and a large table that we were able to snag after just a few minutes of waiting. There was also bar seating. Pretty dark inside to add to the ambiance for a quick date or catch up with friends. Checked in to the waitlist via Resy because we didn't have a reservation, and it was a short wait. Service was prompt.

It was our first time eating at a Friedman's location. It had a nice diner feel to it, with a mix of booths and tables. The brunch menu has a variety of breakfast items, salads, sandwiches and burgers, starters, and entrees (fish tacos, grain bowl, fried chicken). I like that several of the items are naturally gluten free, and some can be made gluten free by request. We decided to go with three breakfast items from the brunch menu: I got the shakshuka, my sister got the Nova Benny, and we got the lemon ricotta pancakes to share. All 3 dishes were great. The shashuka came with grilled ciabatta, perfect for dipping into the sunny side eggs and tomato sauce. My sister loved that the poached eggs and smoked salmon of the Nova Benny came on top of a crispy potato latke. The pancakes were fluffy and the lemon ricotta and lemon zest elevated their flavor. Our server was friendly and attentive, and he asked us if we had any allergies when he took our order. He came by several times to check on us and refill water. I would return to Friedman's when I'm in the Herald Square area, or check out one of their other locations in the city.

The Benedict was so delicious. I've never had it on a crispy hash brown type before. It was good and a massive portion. Mac and cheese was alright, though I would probably opt out of it next time. I was so full I totally forgot to drink my latte but the latte was good too. Ambiance was nice clean and very busy.

The guy will handed you all the your order per person per item. Your order can be customized to your preferences of noddle, broth, saltiness, spiciness, extra meat or egg, extra noddle, drinks and desserts. You can also order the package noddle to go. Everything must be paid on the tablet as you are done with your orders Wait until they tell you where to seat as the slots turned green. Once you were seated, make sure you put all your orders on the table. The bamboo screen will slightly lifted, and the person on the other side will take the orders and will come back with your order. If you order a dessert the matcha pudding like me, they will ask you whether you want it together with your dinner or later. If later, all you do is to put the little saucer on top of the sensor which will let them know that I am ready for next item. There's water dispenser along the wall. You order upfront and head to the iconic booth seating (dividers up for solo dining, or folded back for groups). Because Japan's food scene is elite, I kept my expectations low. The tonkotsu broth was solid and the wheat noodles were perfectly cooked, but the chashu fell a little flat--it was tougher than the texture you get overseas. I also ordered the seasonal matcha pudding and it was pretty tea forward. It was pretty good. Overall: 3/5. It's a fun, nostalgic experience if you miss Japan, but at $23-$30 a bowl with the chashu not as great, it's a one-time visit for me. Stick to the original if you can!

Got off the E train and when we looked for Chinese food, this place popped up with good reviews and it was just a short walk from where we got off the train. My buddies ordered the special lunches and we also got two types of xlb's, beef chow fun, and some fried dumplings. The special lunches come with a little fried rice, cold garlic flavored noodle, choice of egg drop or hot and sour soup, and main side. My buddies all enjoyed their meals. The beef chow fun was also really good and beef was nice and tender. The xiao long baos were excellent and is comparable to any place in California like DTF. Nice and juicy and great with some ginger, soy sauce, and spicy chili. Friendly service and food comes out pretty quickly. Credit card is accepted. Bathroom was also very clean, which is sometimes rare in some Chinese restaurants I have been to. If you're looking for a good Chinese meal, stop here when you're in the Chelsea area.

"How 'bout there?" he responded pointing to Excellent Dumpling House. It was directly across the street. I pulled up Yelp, saw good reviews and readily agreed. At 3:30, the restaurant was empty. There were a few takeout orders, but we were the only people sitting down for late lunch. And y'know ... it was pretty good. Wonton soup is what I'd expect in Chinatown. Wonton wrappers were thin -- my preference -- the stuffing delicious and the broth flavorful. They were generous with the beef in our chow fun. Good, but the noodles needed a jolt. So I asked for soy sauce which was sort of a solution. Shrimp with vegetables was great. A lot of shrimp, too. There are lunchtime specials on weekdays, reasonable prices, and nice people work there. Next time it makes sense to try dumplings since it is, after all a dumpling house.

I found the space clean, thoughtfully designed, and with a cozy cafe feel that made it worth lingering in rather than just stopping through. The filling was satisfying and the flavors were well balanced in a way that made it easy to see why it keeps coming up as a favorite. Individual onigiri are priced in the four to six dollar range, which makes ordering a few to try different fillings a low risk decision. The miso soup that came with the combo was comforting and rounded out the meal without feeling like an afterthought. The unagi onigiri in the combo was where I would pump the brakes. It was good, though I felt it was a little heavier on the rice. The mentaiko and mayo is another strong option if you want something with a bit more richness, and the tuna yuzu is worth keeping in mind for a lighter, brighter pick. Kinoko with five types of Japanese mushroom and scallion is a solid choice if you want something on the vegetarian side that does not feel like a compromise.
