Why has it taken me so long to eat here ?!?!? YUMMMM just got home after a NYC theatre day and super enjoyed this place for lunch and love the location. I had the veggie sandwich and added chicken and it was DELISHHHHHHH Hubbs had the LOX Bagel YUM. Ended with carrot cake and it was 10/10!!! Hot coffee and great service. Will be back! It was packed so make reservations! A real NY diner vibe but better. They have singing waiters for dinner ???? Need to come back stat !

We had reservations for brunch and were seated right away. The space is pretty big and it was packed. The staff was very nice and our food came out quickly. I had the French toast and it was divine. My whole party enjoyed their meals.

All the gluten free options and singing servers! Sat at the bar and enjoyed and rouge cocktail then couldn't decide on a meal since it all sounded so good. Asked the bartender and he recommended the steak sandwich or chicken and waffles. I went for the chicken and waffles because I have never seen that offered as gluten free. It didn't disappoint! Crispy chicken, cheddar waffle and syrup. Then I decided on warm chocolate chip cookies with vanilla ice cream. While I ate I enjoyed hearing the servers sing several songs from musicals. The did pass the hat to tip too, so be prepared! Perfect dinner before going to a show!

If you're looking for Broadway musical singers, and good food, this Friedman's is for you. The restaurant is lively, because the singing comes from the adjacent eatery called, Gayle's Broadway Rose. These "Singing Servers" belt out Broadway musical tunes at a level where they should just drop their aprons and perform on stage. If you're looking for a nice quiet, romantic, cozy dinner, don't come to this Friedman's. Allyson, our Server, did a fabulous job at tending to us and her attentiveness was perfectly timed. I started with a classic Margarita, with Sauza Tequila. The drink was well prepared and was strong. We both ordered the Friedman's Burger (All natural Angus beef, cheese, pickle, onions, lettuce, on a brioche bun). The burger was delicious, juicy, and the Sweet Potato Fries were salty and enjoyed, as well. This was an entertaining and enjoyable meal that I recommend to all Yelpers.

Very good place to meet up with friends & grab a bite which is exactly what I did. Our server was amazing & kept our drinks filled & took our food orders as we waited for my friend's sister to meet up with us. Very good BLT sandwich & fries, plus a refreshing Coke Zero on an unusually warm NYC day. This place is quiet yet classy & clean. I really enjoyed lunch here with my friends.

Love having options as a gluten free diner! This location is fun with the singing servers. It was a bit loud and hectic though compared to other locations, because they take big school groups.

For $6.50 you can get a small meal at this restaurant if you stay at the hotel Edison. I guess it was just OK. The regular meal looked very good. The waffles with chicken looked yummy and so did the pancakes. Our meal was just OK. Our coffee was cold and so was the water for tea. I would recommend going somewhere else.

This place is really something, we looking to get a breakfast and we decided to come here , automatic the hostess tells us to go to the next door hotel and drop our carryon luggage, was odd but ok , then bellman charges us for the luggage to keep there , most restaurants you can put your carryon on a side or under table , but first inconvenience... then waiter sit us and then we wait , wait and more wait , let's say 20 min pass and no one to take our order , I was about to walk out when suddenly waiter takes our order , then took some time to get our food but no drinks , more wait time . So definitely service is terrible , place is nice and menu doesn't have that many items on menu , which you wonder why they took so long to make things , price is a little high and food doesn't have anything special , going to a dennys could it be way better , yeap way better .... Totally mark this item as a no go again

First off, excuse the photo I didn't take the best picture, but the food was so delicious I couldn't wait to dig in. The delivery to my hotel in Midtown Manhattan was super quick, and everything arrived hot and fresh. Cooked perfectly medium well just the way I like it... absolutely hit the spot tonight!

I wasn't a fan of the overpiced food but the service and atmosphere was exceptional. A single pancake was $11. My sister ordered the chicken chilaquiles and said it was 5/5. The French toast not so great as well. The details in the building were amazing. I love how it had an old days vibe. I'd love to stay at this hotel. Everyone was super sweet, kind, and helpful which made up for the food quality.

A very good experience at this Friedman location. It is adjacent to the Edison hotel and conveniently located in the vicinity of the heart of Times Square. I arrived early on a Saturday, thinking I wouldn't need a reservation, however, the dining room was packed. I generally make reservations, but didn't think to do so on this occasion since I was dining early. The hostess saw my large family and despite not having a reservation was able to accommodate us with seating. And comfortable seating near the kitchen. Our dining table was scheduled for a large party within 45 minutes of our seating, however the hostess was able to make it work as we agreed I wouldn't dine longer than 45 mins. This was very good customer service and a win-win scenario in my eyes. Our server was friendly, helpful, and also accommodating. The food was delicious and fresh. I really enjoyed the pastrami hash. I believe they source quality ingredients from local farmers. The cuisine is comfort food at a higher level. Think the simplicity of a diner, but sophisticated for dinner service. Overall, a very good experience. I will visit again when in the area.

Went here for brunch with a friend and it was pretty tasty. We got French Toast and a Yogurt Parfait, pretty basic and hard to mess up. Service is SUPER fast; less than 10 minutes between when we were seated and got our food. Super convenient location in the theatre district. Would recommend, especially if you're looking for a quick sit down meal before a show.

    Guinness, yeah, sure..$9.

The front part where you first walk in is the bar area with some tables. This restaurant is on the darker side and brings you back in time. Once you walk in further that is where the main dinning room is. This is also on the darker side as you can maybe tell by my photos. The wall paper and art around the restaurant is cool and there are some monkey statues around the restaurant. I was seated in a corner table in a booth area that seemed to be for at least 2-3 people. I thought for sure they would seat me at the bar area. I had a wonderful waitress whose name I think was Taylor but I could be wrong. I ordered the Monkey bread to start off with. It's a very buttery bread with truffle and parm cheese on top. I have alot of allergies and I was searching online if I could even have truffles as I have a nut allergy. So, I asked the waitress and she said she had never heard this. But, she came back to me and told me that White truffle grows near or like over where Almonds grow from but that, they don't use white truffle so I was all good. Well, this was super nice of her to check for me. I had no idea she was going to do this. She said the restaurant has strict protocols when it comes to food allergies. I then got for my main dish the double cheese burger with onions and pickles. To drink I had the cucumber martini. WOW everything was pretty darn good!! I passed on dessert. If you get a chance or a reservation pops up in your resy to go, even if it is for lunch..I highly say go for it.

Our server was…read moreincredibly warm, upbeat, and full of energy--one of those people who genuinely elevates a meal. I only wish I could remember her name because she deserves the recognition. We started with drinks, and mine ended up being a surprise standout. I ordered the coconut margarita, slightly hesitant since I'm not usually a margarita fan--but it completely won me over. It struck a perfect balance and leaned just enough into the coconut to make it feel unique without being overpowering. My sister-in-law, who's pregnant, had a non-alcoholic Ritual margarita and loved it, noting how convincingly it mimicked the real thing. Since we were sharing, we got to try a good mix of the menu. The monkey bread came first--definitely a splurge at $34, but it's one of those fun, indulgent starters that's worth ordering at least once. While I wouldn't call it the best bread I've ever had, I also wouldn't change anything about it. The crab rangoon was another highlight. Having it made with real crab made a noticeable difference, and the dipping sauces complemented it really well. It felt like a more elevated take on something familiar. For mains, the French dip was a hit. The meat was incredibly tender, the bread had that ideal crusty exterior, and the au jus was packed with flavor--I was very glad I ordered extra. It pulled the whole dish together. We also tried the smoked whitefish Caesar, which was the only dish that didn't quite land for me. It was a well-made, fresh salad, but the smoked fish flavor was a bit overpowering and took over the balance of the dish. Even though we were too full for dessert, the restaurant surprised us with a scoop of strawberry ice cream with chocolate sauce to celebrate my sister-in-law's babymoon. It ended up being one of the most memorable bites of the meal--we're still talking about how good that ice cream was. We arrived right at 11:45, and by the time we left, the place was absolutely buzzing. It's clearly a popular spot, and for good reason. Between the lively atmosphere, strong service, and well-executed food, I'd highly recommend making a reservation if you can.

The bread and dips were a delightful way to begin the meal, and the potato leek soup was warm, comforting, and full of flavor. We loved it so much we went back and second time for dinner. The first night we sat at the bar (it was crowded and we didn't have reservations) and made some friends who recommended Ivan's (the bartender) espresso martinis. Although we were drinking some white wine we decided after finishing those we would try them. Ivan makes them special with a little Bailey's! They were incredible! Like a dessert but not too sweet. Ivan shared his recommendations with us and we had some good conversation. We ordered a pasta dish with shrimp and Brussels salad as well. All very tasty. A couple of nights later we went back and had the rigatoni with red sauce which was phenomenal and our favorite and the Toscana salad, also great. The pastas taste homemade and everything is so fresh, including the bread. We of course ordered espresso martinis again and Ivan thought it might be us again and came by to say hi. I appreciate that I was not offered grated cheese or fresh ground pepper. It was served as the chef intended, showing off the tomatoes, accented only by the herbs and spices. It was not too oily either, if anything it could have had a touch more, but again this let the tomatoes come through. The pork and beef. meatballs are dense and served in a thickened tomato sauce. The bread that comes with it is nice for finishing that gorgeous sauce which does have a sprinkling of parm. The broccolini had a a touch of garlic and served with a lemon.
