[[HIGHLIGHT]]Nicer more upscale diner than what you usually think of for a diner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very clean and well lit with counter or table seating available[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and serving up breakfast, lunch or dinner. Food was good, i orders the bbq burger it was grilled perfectly and loved the bacon and grilled onions but it was missing the bbq sauce so i had it on the side, fries were hot and well seasoned and the service was a bit slow taking 30 minutes to get my food and I think my waiter forgot because something else finished taking care of me but sometimes that's the way things are.

Visited on a Saturday morning. Busy but we were greeted and placed on a list quickly. We had abt a 10 minute wait which wasn't bad. They have a nice courtyard area you can sit in while you wait. Now to the good stuff, the food lol. ...ohemgee the food was great. We ordered the New Yorker breakfast and got the steak and eggs. My new Yorker was standard eggs, potatoes, bacon/ sausage and toast of your choice. All were good but let me tell you, that steak! Was amazing lol. Best steak ive ever had. It came with a green sauce and that was just as good. Med rare was perfect. It had a char but still juicy and tender. I would definitely come back. Wait staff was attentive and manager was making rounds and pleasant. I have no complaints.

Nothing but excellent food I had simple. I had the cheeseburger deluxe. It was excellent. Everything was really good quality beef used to make the hamburger the matzo bowl soup fresh made from scratch. The amount itself is fluffy. Light and delicious. It was really good and wonderful vegetables in the soup very fresh you can tell fish and chips. It's one of the best my wife I've had. She's still eating it and enjoying it and the weight staff excellence the service very friendly, very attentive [[HIGHLIGHT]]ambience. It's a diner. What do you want? Yum yum and yum. The burger was cooked to perfection and on a gluten free bun too! The fries? Other worldly! Absolutely hands down the best fries ever! I wish I could eat them everyday. Service was friendly and we will be back the next time we are in NYC. The ambiance is typical diner - a bit louder but you're in NYC.

Since we thoroughly enjoyed Trattoria Dell'Arte (The Nose) we knew we wanted to get breakfast at Brooklyn Diner. They're also owned by The Fireman Hospitality Group. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Walking in we were generously welcomed by the mangers and hostess team and promptly sat at a window booth.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We got the Double Stack Cinnamon Bun Pancakes, The Home-run Breakfast (not pictured) and the Nova Scotia Smoked Salmon, Scrambled Eggs & Onions.
This Brooklyn Diner was only a block from our hotel. We liked the 43rd Street location, so we decided to try this location for lunch. It was a comfortable place to eat. We were seated quickly in a booth for two. Guillermo M. was our wait staff, and he was nice & efficient. I got the chicken pot pie. It was huge and I was stuffed by the time I finished it. It was so good! Husband got a pastrami sandwich. It was not as big as my pot pie, but it was just the right size for him. He was pleasantly full after eating this delicious sandwich. He didn't eat the slaw. He forgot that it was vinegar based & to him it was bitter. We will be back when we visit New York as we'd like to try more items from the menu!

We ordered the pastrami, hash, smoked salmon, bagel, pancake, and sunny side up eggs. The smoked salmon bagel was out of this world. The capers gave it a really good flavor. Solid dinner with over the top friendly service (seriously) and quite possibly the world's best Patty Melt! About the Patti Melt. It's insanely delicious. The onions melted into the cheese and the toasted rye took it to the next level. This is a must try sandwich for all carnivores. And about the service... We stopped by for lunch and learned there was a short 15 minute wait. What typically might make you slightly upset did the opposite as the two men at the door and seating people engaged with us and made us feel like regulars. Many, many, many moons ago, I was a poor college kid who passed by this place every single day on my way to my internship, thinking that one day, when I'm finally not broke as hell, I will dine at this charming, retro-looking place. Fast forward to 2026 (where I'm finally not broke as hell), the day has finally come, and I am ecstatic about stepping foot into this diner that surprisingly is still standing in 2026. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside certainly feels like a diner, but not quite the old-school dinginess that I'm used to--it's clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Given that it was Sunday at noon, it was very crowded in there and mainly flooded with tourist groups, but a table opened up for us pretty quickly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] For a NYC diner, the menu is certainly small - this is probably done to keep tables moving faster. I got the Pastrami Hash & Eggs and it was just overdone and super oily and dry--almost as if they just refried everything except the sunnyside egg. Not gonna lie, I was very disappointed, given that I had waited for so long to come here, only to get food that was an attempt to give the staleness another chance by refrying and reheating. I actually beat myself up a little the rest of the day for finishing the whole thing, knowing that the oversaltiness was flirting with opening up some high blood pressure. It was also not moderately priced by any means (was close to $30), but I know I'm helping pay for that Midtown and proximity to Central Park pricing. Not sure if I'll return, which saddens me, but also knowing that they're part of a conglomerate at Fireman Group (and still run independently in a sense) makes total sense read more

What a perfect diner experience! It's a little pricey as it's NYC but it was worth it! Warm and inviting staff was excellent. Super cute diner vibes inside. We absolutely loved our food!! So fresh and beautiful prepared. Good coffee too. My turkey BLT with avocado on toasted challah bread was so good! Swapped the fries for a huge arugula salad. Dressings were so delicious! This place manages the midtown lunch rush with terrific food and even better service. Guillermo was so kind as he delivered my lunch in about 5 minutes. Portions were huge and for $27 I got a bacon BBQ cheeseburger, crispy fries, and a massive slice of apple pie. I ate more than I care to admit, but it was worth it! Oh my goodness! The Saturday before Christmas, and super cold! The wait outside was about 30 minutes to be seated. But once inside, the service was good. Warm and welcoming. It's your typical diner, with not typical diner quality. HUGE portions, so you don't feel like you're being overcharged. Because let's face it, they overcharge you for *everything in NYC. This place was PACKED!!! I had the chicken pot pie that the waiter recommended. OMG! It was the size of my head, full of huge chunks of tender chicken, and seasoned to perfection. My friends had Korean spicy chicken sandwich, a smash/French dip sandwich, a Mexican bowl, and last but not least...the phantom ice cream Sunday. All of which were large and delicious. The beautiful lights and cute look of the restaurant drew me in. What sealed the deal was the classic milkshakes. I had a strawberry milkshake and it was fantastic. They also offer a pistachio milkshake and I feel that I need to go back and try that one. I ordered a combo that included a cheeseburger, salad or fries and the milkshake. The price was a little high, but I think it was worth it for a New York City diner. I showed up right before closing which I think is early for a diner at 9 PM. So I got last call and lots of servers helping me out along the way. I should've taken a picture of one of them. They were wearing traditional sort of diner fancy uniforms. Great place! The breakfast was pricey, but we knew it would be since we were in Time Square. The pancake was different - think cornbread consistency - but not bad. The rest of the meal was okay as well. While it is located in a very touristy area, I love coming here for breakfast as they have one of the best steak and eggs in the area! The entire waitstaff here is very professional, friendly, and will take good care of you. They have another location in Times Square on W 43rd St. I always try to come early or during off hours as it will get very busy and crowded with a typical wait time of about 30 minutes. read more
