[[HIGHLIGHT]]Beautiful Restaurant that also has the cutest shop inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I went here with a group of girls and the food and service were really great. I got a spicy Bloody Mary and a spicy Huevos Ranchero Breakfast. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

I ordered the Steak Sandwich, mid rare, because that's how you ask meat to tell the truth. And it did. Pink and honest in the middle, warm and willing, bread holding it all together like a good road holding a long drive. Nothing flashy, nothing trying too hard just flavor that knew where it came from and didn't apologize. The arugula salad came sharp and clean, green with intent, that bitter edge that wakes you up a little and reminds you you're still alive. It wasn't there to impress you. It was there to balance things out, like a deep breath between sentences. I drank Earl Grey tea, steam rising slow, bergamot drifting up like memory, like train smoke somewhere far off. It felt right. The kind of tea you drink when you're not rushing anywhere, when the world can spin without you for a moment and that's okay. Fern in the Wild isn't trying to reinvent eating. It's doing something better. It's paying attention. To ingredients. To pace. To the quiet pleasure of a meal done right. I left feeling fed in more ways than one--like I'd stopped long enough to hear myself think. That's rare. That's worth something. I'll be back.

Excellent customer service. Coffee was wonderful and the food was great. Ask for Eric as your waiter. He's very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Perfect place to go for a nice brunch or lunch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Phenomenal place!!! It's centered beautiful in downtown Ennis![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]From the exterior, to the interior, food, drinks, staff and boutique located inside... they have knocked it out of the park!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Erick waited on us today and he was absolutely!! He knew the menu from top to bottom and was so accommodating and attentive to our large group! The food was top notch, so fresh and flavorful!! I can't say a single thing that could've been improved on. We will be back to Ennis again just to stop in the Fern in the Wild!

Took my office manager here yesterday for lunch. Been here once before but for brunch. Really enjoyed it then but this time around not so much. Stood at the hostess stand for a while before someone acknowledged us. Our table service was friendly but the attentiveness was lacking considerably. We ordered Brussels Sprouts, the burger and the chicken sandwich. The sprouts were roasted wonderfully but no distinctive flavor. The burger was average and came with a funky sauce that was more like a remoulade for seafood. The chicken sandwich was the big disappointment. Thin. Dry. No real flavor other than the char on the outer crust. The homemade potato chips were good but could have been much better with say a truffle oil and Parmesan flakes. Ambience was good. One side was a store the other was a restaurant. Behind the bar were two men that looked like possible owners. One with an eye patch and the other looked like he came in from working in the yard. Not really pleasing to the eyes. Not bad experience but just average.

We stopped by the bluebonnet festival in our way to a woman's retreat. We paid to go into some sort of nice farmers market type of festival in downtown Ennis. We decided to eat lunch here. I got the fern bowl. It was a healthy bowl with brown rice, carrots, mushrooms, arugula, and a few other things. It tasted really good! It was creamy and savory! I really loved that this restaurant had multiple vegetarian options. Since it's a small town, it was a little nervous that I wouldn't find anything, but there were multiple things to choose from on this menu. My friend got the BLT sandwich and she liked hers as well. I tried some of her potato chips and they were freshly made from scratch. I would recommend this place to others that are coming to visit the small city. We had fun here! The waitress was also really sweet!

This little cute spot is in downtown Ennis. I've never actually explore Ennis much but we found this little cute spot & decided to try it out. As soon as we walked in they welcomed us in & we sat down. They were very attentive & brought our food within 10 mins of ordering it. The only thing that I personally didn't like was that my meat wasn't cooked all the way & she clearly asked if I wanted it with a little pink & I said no. I told her I wanted it well done. Well, my friend & I got the same thing & they both looked with little pink. But besides that it was a nice experience. The fries cost extra $11 dollars & sandwich was $16. Our tab was about $50 with no tip. The tip was extra extra. According to my friend's experience she said she gives it a 3 out 5 stars as well because, The food LOOKED good. But I felt like it was missing something. Also the vibe is brunch with older people vibes. Why did we go there with our loud babies?

An awesome experience at this cozy restaurant. Associates were very friendly and helpful. The sandwich was so tasty. The dip was very flavorful and the bread was toasted to perfection!! And the latte was so good, I had to get one to-go.

So, four generations of Pollocks walk into a Perogie bar…read more... For my birthday my family asked where I wanted to go, and for the first time I had a solid answer. Thank the algorithm for suggesting this place. I was born in America, so was my dad, and his dad, but before that my "-Ski" elders immigrated from central Poland to Pennsylvania. I remember Nanny's cooking, and this is it! We rolled in 10 strong and ordered almost everything in the menu and passed plates around. Tried all the soups - Behold the Best Beet Borscht in NTX, the Pickle soup is great too, haluski bacon noodles delicious side, and the big Kijowski sausage sandwich was over a foot long. Ashley, Damien, & Tim didn't expect a heard of hungry pollocks, and they all bent over backwards to get everything together for us. Will be making this hour- plus drive again, still some things on the menu we missed. Oh, and I almost forgot the giant PEROGIS!! from traditional potato varieties with cheese, jalapeños, and other Texas twists, all the way to Italian meat and cabbage stuffed delights, every variant was delicious. we plowed through probably two dozen, ok so I did tap out and had to bring several home for second dinner. If you want a good food adventure, or have any Polish heritage and don't know the food of your ancestors, it is so worth the trip to Granny Dee's.

My girlfriend took the trays to her house and when I wanted to try it the next day, her family had eaten it....all. Three days later, I happen to going through Ennis on a weekend trip and stopped in to actually try it this time. Having some Polish blood running through the veins, I was pretty excited to see and try many things on the menu that I grew up with. So I proceeded to order like 3-4 different plates (I was with my girlfriend again, but I knew what my mission was.... Pirogies- really good. We had the cabbage and mushroom; tater and cheese and Piccadillo (a little Tex mex version with ground beef, potato and jalepeno). Honestly, the picadillo was my favorite, all were good though. The sauerkraut and ribs were tasty, they take all of the fun out of it by taking the meat off the bones, but better for service. We had the sausage plate which was really good and finally the potato pancakes with apple sauce. Everything was great. Did not know it at the time, but Granny Dee was our sever!! Sweet woman, great service and we have followed similar paths in our movings over the years. The place over all is in an old building, very nice, clean and comfortable. I recommend the place for a little taste of home. May not be like my mom's, but better than me having to make it. I will be stopping again in my travels.
