We had the best and sweetest server, I think her name was Sami. Our food was hot and ready fast. My one of the pork chops on my husbands' plate was a little undercooked but other than that it was all very delicious.

Friendly server, great food and service. The chef came out to check on the meal. We'll be back.

I have no earthly idea how this restaurant has received such good reviews in the past. Our experience was beyond horrible and I would give it -100 stars if possible. The nightmare began when our estimated 20 minute wait for a table turned into 50 minutes. The wait would have been ok if the food had been decent, but it was not. We ordered and things seemed promising as we got our drinks and salads very quickly. Our house salads were excellent and both were fresh and crispy. We were optimistic. And then we waited. And waited. And waited. And when we got tired of waiting, we waited some more. At one point I asked our waitress if the cook had quit. An hour and five minutes later our food came. It was horrible. My burger was obviously pre-cooked and had been sitting in a warming bin. It did not have the texture of fresh meat and it was just warm. No flavor. One of the worst burgers I have ever eaten. It was disgusting. I have no idea why the waitress asked me how I wanted my burger cooked because they all probably came from the same heating bin and were dry and overcooked. The "hand breaded" onion rings were flavorless and tasted like cardboard. The worst I have ever eaten, by far. Ketchup could not salvage them. Horrible. The wife had the one meat BBQ plate. The meat was not brisket but rather pot roast. It was dry, not tender, and flavorless. It was horrible. The potato salad was decent. The fries obviously were frozen from a bag. The problem with this place is that all the food is simple--either pre-cooked or something that could be prepared quickly. There is no reason for an hour wait. No excuses are acceptable. They said they were busy, but excuse me, that's your business. We wanted to try a dessert but after losing 2+ hours of our life to this place we just wanted to leave, so other people can review the pies because we were exhausted by this nightmare.

Chicken Fried Steak. Good onion rings.

Went here for lunch, wife had Salisbury steak, I had Chicken fried steak and daughter had lever with onions. I recommend the Salisbury steak.

Large portion of CFS. Could only eat half and took the desserts home.

Wait staff super friendly!! Young kids waiting tables but very kind and respectful. Food was hot, fast and tasty! Nice little place to drive in from WAXAHACHIE and get away from the hustle and bustle crowded city.

Bread pudding. Very tasty, but the lemon topping is not my thing. You might love it!

Great "hometown" cafe. Glad my friend told me about this place. To begin, it's nice and clean inside, everything looks "new". Tables are well spaced not crammed together. It's a bright and cheerful atmosphere. Without the overdone cutesy clutter many cafes are famous for. Service was good, although it seemed my servers kept changing. Still, they were are friendly and communicated well. I ended up ordering a lunch special for around $8.00 that included lunch portion CFS, two sides, a drink and a dessert. I picked fried okra and redskin mashed potatoes, iced tea and bread pudding. I have to say the CFS is one of the better I have ever had and the gravy was really good. Okra was very good. I liked the mashed potatoes with the skins left on but I coulda used some gravy on them too. I didn't ask because I really didn't NEED more cream gravy. As for desert, I had a choice of cobbler or bread pudding and went with the latter. It was good but I didn't care that much for the sauce which was like a lemon fried pie filling. Tasty but not my thing. Your mileage may vary! I will for sure try this place again, and soon. I look forward to sampling other items on the menu.

Chicken fried steak cream gravy (large size). Loaded potatoes, Mac n cheese. Excellent! Very nice place.

Wow! This was truly one of the best steaks I've ever had the pleasure of eating. The appetizers,…read moredeviled eggs and bacon-wrapped shrimp, were good. The Caesar salad was good, traditional, fresh, and the correct size. The garlic mashed potatoes were good. But the wagyu NY strip was just incredible. It was almost black on the outside and just warm on the inside, a perfect rare as wagyu beef should be. The meat was unctuous and delicious without being greasy or fatty. It was so richly umami flavorful, perfectly seasoned. It was just an excellent steak. The bourbon bread pudding was a huge serving and wonderfully flavorful. There was some nice bread to go with the meal too. The smoked old fashioned cocktail before dinner was excellent. And I got a nice Cabernet that perfectly paired with the steak. Our server was casual but friendly with a good balance of hospitality and service. This was truly a great dinner and one of the best steaks I've ever had... and all of this in Ennis, Texas. If you're reading this review, thank you... but just stop reading and go to Ruston Cattle Company.

Went here as we heard it was a sort of upscale steakhouse, seems more like a Dickey's BBQ style…read morevibe. Seating is not ideally comfortable for a one and a half to two hour dinner, ambience is not too loud, but not exactly leaning on the side of anything remotely formal. Good for groups, good if you like steak....I will say if you like steak that is overcooked with a 1/2inch burned crust and very salty. Was excited to try the wagyu filet but it was overdone and impossible to enjoy the tenderness when you had to bite through so much burnt. Noticed that they serve a crème brûlée, and unfortunately, it did not live up to it its hype: I received a oval dish about 6 inches long that had a smidge over - I kid you not - a quarter an inch of crème brûlée, including the soggy caramelized crust. When I ran my spoon from one end of the dish to the other, it barely filled up half the utensil - it was rather saddening. Now I am the kind of person that believes in at least a "two times whack" with the bottom of the spoon in order to break the lovely caramel crust on top of a crème brûlée; this poor little dessert was not even thick enough for the spoon to rest upon the crème brûlée without it sinking to the bottom of the dish instantly. Positive notes, our waitress was a little misinformed on the menu, she might've been new and so that was not her fault as she did well in trying to accommodate our party of three - one who is particularly hard of hearing - and their Caesar salad was average, but nothing outstanding, along with the potatoes and brussels sprouts we got along alongside the meal. All this being said, if you like a variety of big pieces of overcooked salted meat with a thick crust, this is the place for you.

We were ready for some awesome BBQ. I ordered the 2-meat plate (brisket and ribs) with two sides for $18.99. When the tray arrived, I was surprised to see only three small slices of brisket and two ribs. The brisket was dry, with little flavor. The ribs were unlike any I've had before--tough, full of cartilage, and difficult to eat. The sides were the highlight: the fried okra was cooked to perfection, and the green beans were well-seasoned. Unfortunately, they didn't have cobbler. Our waitress explained, "We only have it when the owner's daughter-in-law makes it." Honestly, that should be a special, not something printed on the menu. We came in with high expectations but left disappointed--so much so that I didn't even bother taking pictures of the food. Next time, I'll just stop in Corsicana and eat at Bubba's. Sorry I deleted all pictures except the two of The Duke. I wasn't going to review but I changed my mind. Even though I have no pictures, trust me!

So I ordered a pound of brisket and a pound of smoked sausage. They previous charge was reversed and I paid for the brisket and sausage and was given the coleslaw complimentary. After the hour long drive home from Alma to Winkler Creek Estates on Richland Chambers Reservoir, discovered that the smoked sausage was missing from the bag. Had the brisket and coleslaw, but not a single sausage. Called back to chat with Susan, said I'd get a call back. Still waiting... The slaw and brisket was great! Lacking sausage...not great. Overall a "no joy" situation. I don't think I will be back.

My nephew and his wife renewed their vows last week and my husband and I had the honor of meeting…read morethe owner of this business. The event was at Hidden Waters Chapel which is a really beautiful Tusean like setting in Waxahachie. This business quietly set up the meal buffet style on black table cloths so quietly, we didn't hear anything but we sure did smell it and it smelled so good! I'm a skeptic when it comes to "wedding" food so I'll start there. So here we go: Brisket: Literally could be eaten with a fork. Tender, not dry at all. I don't normally eat red meat but I couldn't help it. It was beckoning me from the plate. Pulled pork: One of my favs and this was no disappointment either. I know, I'm supposed to only get one meat but the pork was so moist. Then the owner explained which sauce (there were 2 kinds) went with each one and he was right on the money. Mashed potatoes: Perfect ratio of butter, salt and I think these were homemade mashed potatoes and not the boxed flakes. They were "comfort food" for sure. Bread: This was probably the "piece de resistance". I'm into ratio with everything so with bread, it can be too dry, too salty, too sweet, too floppy..,you get the idea. Oh my goodness. I knew I was in trouble. At first, it looked like a croissant, warm, slightly gooey in the middle, flaky and then when you bite into it, theres a slight sweetness about it. These are dangerous, in a good way. I stopped at 2. Pickles, Onions and other relishes: Delicious, fresh. As neatly, professional as they set up, they shut down and were gone. I happened to get their card and will definitely keep it for future events. His card says "On site, On time" Personally, I like that. His team was personable, neat, hair pulled back, efficient and the whole things was so well done. Well done!
